  1. So far in the past years, we've seen in a Christmas Winter Village: *Toy Shop *Winter Bakery *Post Office What else would you like to see in the future for the Winter Village? My prediction is it's going to be a church or a simple village home. What is your prediction?
  2. Hello everyone! Maybe it's too early, but let it happen. What do you think of the Speed Champions series in 2022? Do you think it will disappear or continue, or will it be under a different name? Anyway, personally, I think they will stay with us for a long time (after all, they have made specially new wheels for 2021). It seems to me that there is a good chance to see in 2022 in the SC series such cars: - BMW M8 (maybe GTE) - Pagani Zonda or Huayra - Ferrari - some F1 car - due to Toyota license can Toyota gr010 (hypercar) ue to toyota license can Toyota gr010 (hypercar) - maybe some cars from the DTM or VASC series Post comments about what you think.
  3. Hi everyone, I'm pretty new around here so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post this here, but wanted to share with you my most recent IDEAS project! Created by the legendary Wilbert Awdry in 1946, Thomas is and has been beloved by children around the world and has become an icon for both kids and adults alike. To celebrate Thomas's 75th Anniversary, I created this project to pay tribute to this beloved little Tank Engine and the man who created it. Like Thomas himself, this build is highly based on the (LB&SCR) E2 Tank Engine with additional details based on his appearance in both the Railway series and the classic TV series. Thomas includes a detailed interior that can easily be accessed by detaching the roof. The cabin features space for 1 Minifigure and a highly detailed furnace. Though too small for any motorized features, Thomas's chassis features a built-in gear mechanism to allow the wheels to rotate smoothly. Currently, we are very close to hitting 5.000 supporters so if you want to see this become an actual set, then consider supporting this project through the link down below: https://bit.ly/2Ruzxzp
  4. Villa Del Balbianello is a lakeside villa in Italy built in 1785 expanding on an existing structure from the 13th century. With later additions added throughout the years such as relics added from an explorer. It was also featured in films such as Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) and James Bond: Casino Royale (2006). Also a set on LEGO Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/85ec2902-0e20-40a8-9b18-4a79c9f560af
  5. "Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats. The play the children of our elementary school have worked so hard for, is about to begin. And curtain!" [MOC] Tonight on Stage: Castle under Siege! by Bert Van Raemdonck, on Flickr "Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, there was a princess ruling over a beautiful country. She was so kind that everyone loved her. Everyone apart from the evil wizard nextdoor, that is. Ages of obsessing over magic had made him bitter and he couldn't take hearing the laughter coming from the castle anymore. So after brooding for only a moment, with his dark magic he summoned an enraged ancient dragon and set out to take over the castle and lock away the princess... Luckily, when the wizard and his dragon arrive at the castle gate, the princess' bravest knight is waiting there to - ... Uhm, it appears our brave knight is nowhere to be found... Excuse us for that, ladies and gentlemen, our children spent so much time working on the set that they didn't get to go through a full rehearsal. But - aha - I see that the princess is taking matters into her own hands! She seems to have realized that one thing is true about dragons that's true about all of us: they get in a much better mood once they have a filled stomach! So with one of her famous home-made cookies and her general kindness, she manages to appease the dragon. So everybody ended up living happily ever after after all! Including the wizard, because the next morning he found a box of fresh cookies on his doorstep, courtesy of the princess!" [MOC] Tonight on Stage: Castle under Siege! ... behind the scenes by Bert Van Raemdonck, on Flickr Thanks for indulging me in this build that's quite different from what I'm used to! I was pushed out of my comfort zone thanks to a contest on instagram where the assignment was to build a castle in a week's time. Knowing how I build, there was no way I would be able to finish a castle I was happy with in that amount of time, I got the idea of just building the facade of the castle, thinking I could get away with it if I framed it as a stage set build of cardboard, wood, crates and pallets with visible supports and ladders at the backside. Turns out it worked, as the jury selected my build as the winner! This really is the first time I did a castle build and I enjoyed it a lot. I love the fact that I can bring some architecture into it but that I can exaggerate the shapes, proportions and details to make it look fun. I started from the masonry pattern on the walls which you don't end up seeing much of in the end. The technique actually was pretty simple even though it requires puzzling some pieces together. Every row of bricks is basically a stack of 1x1 plates, 1x1 bricks with side stud(s) and 1x1 plates with clip light. A row of tiles is attached to the side studs of the SNOT bricks. At the back side, the 1x1 plates with clip light attach to each other in a column of 1x1 plates and 1x1 round tiles with pin. I meant it to give texture to the wall in the same way painting a stage set would and am glad I was able to pull it off. If you're interested in more details, feel free to check out the digital .io file. From there, it was playing around with the building blocks I had to create a fun castle. In the end, a friend suggested to add a dragon and that's when the story took shape. Considering the time I didn't go for an epic dragon build (maybe one day?) but instead for a cutesy dragon custom puppeteerd by two people. for how quickly it came together, I love how much character it has! Thanks for having a look! Maybe not the kind of castle you were expecting to see today, but I hope it makes you smile! ___________________ Find the digital file here

  7. This week I found a partially assembled Lego satellite and I wanted to build it but I can't find the instructions to finish it. This is not a production set. My father gifted me this set in 2012 (I don't have the exact date). My father got the set from one of his friends that worked in Orbital Science Corporation at the time. According to my father the satellite can be the Koreansat6 or the Indostar-1 or the Measat 3a. If anyone happens to have the set or the instructions to it please reply, I'm desperate. I will leave some images of the only assembled parts I have: https://imgur.com/gallery/AmijKyT
  8. Hi again, Sorry if I am repeating a topic but I am new in here. Also, I think this topic can stay as long as LEGO Technic exists Including the latest (2019) LEGO Technic sets/models, which do you think is the “hardest to assemble”, complex/though, etc. You understood me. For example, in my opinion, still the 1275 part - 42070 - 6*6 40th year edition 2017 Towing Truck is one of the “kings”. Waiting for your kind and precious thoughts and opinions. All the best, Idris
  9. Here is my take on the motorization of the 42110. Basically the whole model was lifted to accomodate the bigger wheel, motors and BuWizzes. Model is powered by a total of 8 motors, 4L motors for RWD, 2L motors for FWD, one servo and one M motor. Total gear ratio is 1:3. It uses custom portal hubs in the front which have a pivot even closer than normal ones thanks to the new rims. Rear uses normal hubs and wheels, since they are sturdier. Axles use the original suspension's upper arms as mounting points along with a pair of 9L links for each axle. The original gearbox is connected to the rear drive, so it works normally. Steering is also connected to the original links, so steerign wheel and HOG also turn when steering Winch is motorized using an M motor. Video coming soon.

Cabin with bench seating for four (easily fitting way more) c. opening eagle doors on each side. d. winch system with basket and gurney (left side) e. search light (right side) f. exposed rotors. I remember owning this set as a kid, and building this re-imagined version was nothing but a blast. Right after taking photos, I was swooshing it around my living room, feeling like a kid again. I really hope it brings a nostalgia kick as it brought me too. Let me know if you remember this set, and what you think. I'd appreciate any feedback and comments. I hope you all like it! __________ Louis of Nutwood.

    [MOC] Castle Gate Set

Hi All! Here is my MOC of a Castle Gate set. The intention (which was hopefully achieved ) is to make it as realistic as an official Castle set as possible. With the last official Castle theme a while back, before Nexo Knights introduced a bunch of very useful parts, I was inspired to create some castle themed MOCs to explore how a Castle theme would look like if released today. As this is my first post in this forum, as well as my first Castle MOC, so please do advice if this MOC and/or post needs finetuning. Castle Gate MOC The gate itself is relatively simple, with 2 posts on either side, and a gate in the middle. It was essential that the gate itself be ornate and functional, as a result many click hinges and layered plates were used to add stability, topped off with plates. The main aesthetic of the surrounding structure was designed to have blue pillars and gold highlights (Bluerender unfortunately struggles with rendering that colour ), which will be recurring throughout this theme. In this "theme", the heroes of the kingdom would have more angular designs with sharp corners and shapes, whereas the villains led by a necromancer would be more "smooth" and organic. Another consideration was for the final structure to be able to connect with new structures released in the theme. If TLG were to release a Castle theme today, I would expect modular sections of a larger castle structure, with gates, towers, dungeons etc to be all sold separately but modular in nature. Something like HP's Hogwarts, perhaps. Shield tiles from Nexo Knights were used to decorate the facade. In an actual set they might be printed/stickers even. And of course, the 1X1 pyramid pieces were used extensively to add detail. As a gate, naturally it should, and does, open and close on the click hinges. As a rather simple locking feature, a 2x2 tile jumper is included with a key to secure the gate. On one side of the gate, a small ladder can be used to access the top. Some greenery and foliage were added to ground the model and add some visual flair. Green patches are present in front of the 2 posts, as well as in the corner of the right post. Starting on the left tower, there is an obligatory catapult to fend off potential intruders. I tried to add more to the catapult, creating custom missiles to be thrown or by adding to the structure itself, but it ended up being unnecessarily bulky and distracting, so as a result I just tiled the end of it, placed it on a turntable, with regular 1x1 round bricks as ammo. I did try to add more flair into the structure itself, and one would be able to catch a glimpse of an offset-ted pillar behind the main gate. It added more depth and complexity to the final product. Underneath the catapult is an armoury of sorts, with several shields arranged in a rotating rack, and up against the wall (which is not pictured here), are some axes too. The slope piece in the interior actually started out as a small armoury rack, but was discarded as it couldn't be integrated well into that space. The technic pin holes seen here would facilitate the connecting of the different modules. Underneath the other post is a cozy fireplace bar for the soldiers to rest and relax. Cups, goblets and barrels can be seen. However, this post also has an action feature... Surprise! The entire front wall can be detached with ease as the necromancer's army attacks. And that's it! This is my first Castle MOC, but I've always been inspired by Castle sets. From the 2008 Castle, to Kingdoms, to Nexo Knights (although thats more adventure than castle haha), Castle has been one of my favourite themes. Glad to be in this community to share my love for the theme, and I'm currently working on another MOC which can be connected to this "set", can't wait to share it! C&Cs are very much appreciated, thank you!

  13. I thought for some bit about getting 42110. As a car enthusiast and MOC builder, I have always loved the Technic manufacturer cars, owning the Arocs, Porsche, Bugatti, and even the Corvette. All those sets wielded me some very useful pieces to make future MOCs with. However, the Land Rover set doesn't seem like a good buy for me... I have a lot of Lego already. It's expensive. I'm not into Land Rover, even though I think the new Defender is cool. The pieces. The lockable differential and the new wheels are the only pieces that I can find use with, and there's not many good ideas I have for green MOCs. I thought about getting the Porsche 911 RSR instead because of its white pieces, but the fenders have prints. So I guess I'll take a pass on both cars, what is your opinion on the new Defender set?

  15. Here is a little crew! These two models are very compact, so very simple technically. I wanted to do the same type of model as the little LEGO sets. The forklift: The arm can be moved using a worm gear/8t system. The towballs are here to limit the movement of the system. The fork moves when you turn the 12t gear. There is a pin with friction to keep it in position. The truck is even simpler. It has a steering and the dropsides are openable. The LDD file is available on Rebrickable. And here is the video!

  19. I know I normally post stuff on the forums about Lego Technic, but I also enjoy building Lego MineCraft sets as well and connecting them together. Today, I looked at my The First Night set and noticed something very odd. I got the set on Christmas Eve 2015, and I never noticed this problem the entire time I had it. This is Lego's official picture for the set. Focus on the green 2x2 plate with knob above the brown 2x2 brick with the rose on the right of the pig. When you build the set, the instructions show that there is no green plate below the rose. I don't think there is even a spare piece for it. I checked the internet and I believe nobody ever noticed this before. I'm perfectly fine with it though, since everyone occasionally makes mistakes. What do you think? Has anyone here saw this mistake before?

    Universal sets

I managed to get the universal set 8062 (including suitcase) a while ago, in OK condition for a reasonable prize. I never used it, until recently. The last couple of weeks, my soon 6 year old son and I have been busy building the models, modding them, and creating MOCs, with parts only from this set. Fantastic set, and a lot of fun! Myself, I would have absolutely loved this set as a kid! There are a lot of nice parts, and lot of possibilities, yet limitations. I think this combination is the key to the fun, because it challenges our creativity (I guess this is valid for Lego in general...). This set directs the focus more on function than looks. Even I prefer studless construction, I have to admit it's great fun to go back in time with this set. This made me think, perhaps it is a market out there for universal sets. Or is it only me? And my son? In my mind these kind of sets would be a perfect entry to Technic. I am sure TLG have their reasons for their strategies, but I hope we some day will see the return of the universal sets. Meanwhile, why not make a competition here on EB, where the challenge is to create the best universal set? The entry would have to be a universal set inventory and instructions for different models. Perhaps different classes; basic, pneumatic, PF, etc. What do you think?
  25. I was a designer, and one night I had a dream that I was in the middle of a lot of colorful balloons, and there was a big fish too . The second day I got up and did the moc. At the beginning i though it is so dull just to build a complete fish, and then i am inspired by the chinken leg at lunch, the shape of the bone, is a good idea. In order to make the set a little more colorful, i use a lot of different colors of circular pieces. In my contry, fish is a kind of animal can bring good luck to people in the new year. If you have fish at home, you will have a lot of money in the future. So i really hope this set can bring good luck to everyone who put it at home. Thanks. And i send this moc to the lego ideas, please support me if you like this set or orther moc of mine. The support linke is as follow: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/175198
