Hello, this is my latest Classic Space project, enjoy. You still love Classic Space, but you want more than just remakes of Classic Space sets? You want something new, fresh, never seen before? Here´s your opportunity to promote new futuristic designs for space sets. GAIA-72 TERRAFORMING STATION, is a dome base fully enclosed with everything the space explorers need to survive extraterrestrial environments. Its composed of a 1200 piece dome base (roughly the same amount of pieces of 10497) and a 1100 piece launch port. A perfect addition to any Classic Space collection. If you like it, give it your support and let's hope we can have this on store shelves soon.

Hey everyone, Did this one last month, finally got around to posting it... goes out to all the fans of late classic space and playability! This is a mid-sized Explorien ship made for intergalactic exploratory missions seeking planets with life or key resources. My goal was to fit in as much playability as possible in an aesthetically pleasing package. But first, I'd like to introduce the crew in front of its main play function, an actuated elevator cargo bay! Here is a list of features within the four main areas - livable conditions for all four crew members - 2 floor modular interior with 4x sleeping chambers on lower level - biomedical lab - 4 seat lounge - bathroom with shower - large cargo bay with surface exporation and assessment equipment - play function to open back and lower entire cargo bay as elevator via linear actuators - working airlock to enter cargo area from living space - Roll cage rover fits 3 minifigs and includes drilling /grabbing platform - tracked power suit with cutting torch and grabber - storage for 4x space suits and minifig equipment - communications and sensor arrays - Intergalactic comm dish - planetary sensors for life/resource assessment - intragalactic comm arrays for more detailed communication in local galaxy - 2x interior seats for comm/sensor operators - long and short range transportation equipment - 2x dual engines equipped made for long range warp and short range thrust - retractable landing gear - adjustable front and side landing/takeoff thrusters - front of ship equipped for navigator and pilot The main shape and inner technic structure came about from 4 integral pieces I wanted to include for the sake of the Explorien theme, the front canopy, 2 SNOT large transparent panels in midsection, 16x16 white plate for removable roof to house comms, but most of all a large elevator cargo bay. Also visible are the retractable landing gear. Upper level interior visible from outside, sides equipped with flight sensors and antennae as well as front thrusters White dish is intergalactic communication to relay their findings to home base, but due to the limited information it can send and energy usage, there are a number of local arrays they use for local galaxy communication and sensor instruments Upper level of interior includes front navigation/pilot area, comm/sensor stations, biomedical lab, lounge, suit storage, and bathroom Upper level removed to showcase the sleeping chambers for long range transport, the chambers are used for storage when not in use Rear cargo area includes rover, power suit, airlock, and engines. The actuator function for the cargo elevator is visible form here, but can be operated when the vehicle is closed. Note that the sliding door for the airlock doubles as the door for the bathroom, assuming the crew would not need to use both at the same time! Rear cargo bay open and lowered, rover and power suit rolling out to go exploring!

Another Classic Space Lego Ideas project. This time is White Classic Space/Futuron Color Scheme. Kappa Notch Complex is a Space Base nestled between mountains, It´s composed of several modules or rooms connected internaly by corridors dug into the rocky mountains around a large rocket silo housing a two stage rocket designed to take a satelite into orbit in new colonizing planets. Lab, telecommunications, control panel, infirmary are among the fuctions of the modular rooms of the base. It also features a vehicle hangar and landing pad among the features of the base. NOTE: I updated the base by adding a Space Police rover and Blacktron speeder. The upgrades will be added to Lego Ideas in a month. The CSE contest grabbed my attention, especially after seeing so many creative entries, so I had to try making something for it myself! This Futuron patrol craft measures 36 studs wide, carries a small rover, and seats two crew members. I based the ship around the inverted trans-blue canopies which were not the easiest things to work with at first, but I’m happy I was finally able to use them. Thanks for looking

While I don't have the closest connection to Space Police II, one of my favourite childhood sets was actually the little rocket-pulling rover 6852 Sonar Security. I always liked that design with its many wide little space wheels and the trailer that balanced on a single axle and found it extremely swooshable. So inspired by a collaborative 90s-style spaceway at Bricking Bavaria and various revival build contests, I built a remake of it. Of course the design tries to stay close to the colour composition of the original and its faction, being black, grey and red with green glass elements. In addition to that there's also some accents in flat silver and pearl dark grey, which should extend the colour palette reasonably, though. In general the remake is quite a bit bigger than the original, which not only allows for a bit more detail but also makes the rocket trailer a more functional launching platform than just having a rocket stand there unsecured. Originally I actually thought about using tracks instead of wheel as an update of those old-school space wheels. But then I saw the wheels from the 3-in-1 rover and used those instead. Not only do they capture the design of the original set more accurately, they also allow for flexible wheel suspension and an even more rovery feel. For best offroad capabilities the wheels are thereby suspensed differently, similar to the 3-in-1 rover. The wheels on the lorry bob from side to side while the wheels on the trailer bob along the side. This also has the side effect that the trailer actually swings around a single axle like in the original set and is only held in balance by the connection to the lorry. But while a ladder can be folded down at the back for additional stability, the trailer is still not really made for decoupling because of another feature. What I really like is the lighting, especially the fact that the MOC doesn't just have 5 LEDs worked into the design but also carries the whole power supply, conveniently hidden behind the cockpit and accessible through a hatch on the roof for easy on/off switching. The cabling isn't always hidden completely, but for a space vehicle that's not necessarily a bad thing. Though, I still tried to lead the cables reasonably through the vehicle as well as integrate that into a sensible instruction flow. Building instructions can be found on Rebrickable.

Back in the 90s I used to think the Message Intercept Base was a Futuron Base diguised as a Blacktron one. Many times I thought how it would look a true Blacktron1 Base. So I designed this project and make something more "mean" more "rebelious" a base with modules which could be used both as rooms in the base and also as parts of vehicles or ships. I wanted to take the interlocking modular concept used by Lego on the Blacktron 1 sets to a new level and giving a fresh look to the retro space subtheme. Also give them droids which actual look like automata units for different purposes like spy units or guards. Enjoy it and if you like it, give it support. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/0f9caab4-1d4a-4207-ae82-60b6cc8b61d9

Rove the surface of Mars in the luxurious Mono Jet 2.0! This new and improved version of the Mono Jet that was used during the Lego Space Federation's first manned mission to Mars is over twice as big as the original and ten times more powerful! Get yours at your local rover dealership today! This is my contribution to this year's Febrovery and a remake of the vintage Life on Mars set. It was the only LoM set I ever got, but I liked it so much that I got two of it. On the back I added a ladder for the driver to enter/exit the vehicle. Also, note that I even used the updated version of the control panel tile. The engine's turbine can spin and the radar dish can be aimed up. The wheel's diameter was increased from 5 studs to 10 and that of the engine from 3 to 6 while keeping the same overall look. The whole vehicle is balanced and can be rolled around just like the original. The driver's side is now a lot more spacious and has more details such as a windscreen, a spotlight, and extra controls. I expanded on the original greebles with small parts and stickers. Thanks for reading. Did you have this set? What do you think of this remake?

The goal was to make a robot base without up nor down to get out of a ravine, for example. On Mars of course ! What I like most about this project is its funny look.

A bit late to posting these, but it's never too late to post rovers. My builds for Febrovery 2021 31107 MOD Febrovery 2021: 31107 MOD by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Febrovery 2021: 31107 MOD by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr I made this in January after I got the City 60222 Snow Groomer from a secret Santa in my LUG. I wasn't really happy with the wheels of the original set so I modified the axles slightly to accommodate the tracks while still keeping the neat suspension, which gives it a much rugged look. Module Trailer Unit Febrovery 2021: Module Trailer Unit by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Febrovery 2021: Module Trailer Unit by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr A trailer unit designed to transport cargo, whether it may be containers or habitat modules. Made around the same time as my 31107 MOD, as I still wanted to use the wheels in some other way. I still had the modules of 60227 Lunar Station built in the corner of a shelf. I hoped the interior of 31107 would've been bigger, and thought about combining the sets and making it longer, but the orange would've clashed with the red/blue, so I made this trailer. Febrovery 2021: Module Trailer Unit by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Monowheel Scouting Rover Unit Febrovery 2021: Monowheel Rover Unit by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Febrovery 2021: Monowheel Rover Unit by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr A small scouting & reconnaissance unit, also found inside Trailer Units in case of emergencies. I had a spare wheel. Not sure where it came from, but I wanted to implement it in some way alongside the rovers, and remembered the old Life on Mars sets and how they had a tiny monowheel vehicle. Halfway through designing it I put it in the middle of the Trailer Unit chassis, and with enough space to spare, I made it as compact as possible to fit behind the trailer. Febrovery 2021 by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Thank you for checking out these Febrovery 2021 builds!

At more then twice the size of the previous MT-21 rover, the MT-125 is a more robust and capable rover that can be used in a variety of applications. It features a full pressurized cabin/airlock and can comfortably seat 3 astronauts. This particular rover is fitted with a lab so it can analyze samples and scout out future crystal deposits. It is unarmed, though it does have a cache of personal weapons for the crew just in-case they are ambushed in the field. I also have an album with more pics on my Flickr if anybody is interested! Build notes: So this is kind of a loose re-imagining of the Mars Mission set 7648: MT-21 Mobile Mining Unit in what I'm calling "Neo Mars Mission style", which is essentially a bit more realistic and has a greater focus on mining crystals then blasting aliens. I hope to remake more Mars Mission sets like this in the future. Also to note, a majority of the rover's suspension system has been adapted from the Official 21104 Curiosity rover set.

[MOC] PERSEVERANCE Mars 2020 Rover + INGENUITY Helicopter
cyberdyne systems posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Good time, everyone. It is actually a really good time to Iive in. With all this historical events like yesterday's landing happening around us. To celebrate the successful landing of Perseverance, I've created this Lego technic model of Marsian rover. I've tried to recreate as much detail as possible. because one of the goals was not just to make Lego rover, but a good educational model, which can be used to show people how the real one works, what instruments it has on board and which experiments they will help to conduct. So,the video serves the same purpose - to be entertaining and a bit informational. I hope, you'll like it. And if you liked this video, please share it with others, because science popularization is a good thing to do! Also, tell if you want, do you have such ticket to mars, like in the video? See you on the Red Planet! P.S. Music in the video is by soviet group called Zodiac.- 6 replies

NASA's 6x6 rover mobility system
jam8280 posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Robust working 1:12 RC model of the 6x6 rocker-bogie mobility system used in Mars rovers Perseverance and Curiosity... Tons of play value. Works well over most neighborhood surfaces and terrains, but sometimes gets stuck in loose sand. What you put on top is up to you. NB: The NASA rovers are 6x6x4 platforms, with 6 wheels, all 6 driven, and the 4 corner wheels steered. At 1:12 scale, steering individual wheels with LEGO motors is out of the question. So this model is necessarily a 6x6x0 platform — but one with reasonably effective skid steering. Several years ago, made a pretty faithful working 1:12 model of Curiosity with more emphasis on visual realism than on mobility system performance. The current model vastly outperforms the old one... Purist alert: SBrick RC receiver, non-LEGO elastics used to suppress wheel spread.- 15 replies

Range Rover Evoque + Instructions
Lox Lego posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
For my final post of this year, I am proud to introduce the Range Rover Evoque with air ride. Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions in my WIP thread to create a better SUV. The car was too black so I added white, it was too low so I raised it a stud and the hood wasn't slanted enough so I re-created the front of the vehicle. I reduced the weight to 6.3 pounds (2850g) This car has 4wd, air ride, torsion bar suspension, 2 XL motors for drive, 2 m motors for lift, V8, servo for steering, gear shifter turns on the lights. The car is finally to a perfect scale. The hard parts of this build was the air ride, torsion bar and having the doors start low at the front and higher at the back. I bought a pair of custom chrome exhaust pipes for this built. flickr: https://flickr.com/photos/139930963@N04/sets/72157676733470861 MOC-Pages: http://moc-pages.com/moc.php/435565 Instructions: https://goo.gl/photos/KLwkEfTt2LzsRMkG8 Inspiration: Inspiration by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Below is the car in comparison to the 42052 helicopter set Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Back end was super difficult: Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Everything opens: Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Front View: Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr I'm ready to take my helicopter to work... Hello again Eurobricks! I present you the review of a rare LEGO set from 2001 Life on Mars series - or even 3 sets in one box, to be precise: Alien Discovery by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr They are two promotional (Double Hover and Rover) and one "common" (Red Planet Cruiser) sets. Life on Mars is one of my favorite LEGO series. Its main idea is interesting even in our times - humans and Martians do not fight but live in peace and harmony. Besides, this series was very rich in rare colors and uncommon parts, and it can be viewed as the primogenitor of all LEGO walking mechs. This set (being "new" and sealed, of course) was a birthday present from my friend. It was a very pleasant surprise for me, as now I have got almost all Martian sets from the series. So, let's go! Or, as Tenth Doctor says, allons-y! Box The box looks unusual, as it has slots for lesser boxes with sets inside: Alien Discovery Box by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Such "3 in 1" packs were sold only in America. The depicted astronaut says that it was a set of special value. This minifigure, the silhouette of Mars and the red background create the atmosphere of distant space and scientific discoveries which was iconic for this series. The back side of the box has the set images and the LEGO Club advertisement: Alien Discovery Box Back by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The ad looks unusual for Europeans as it was targeted at American consumers. It should also be noted that the green background has the blueprints of a completely different Life on Mars set - Recon Mech RP. The big box without small ones looks like a photo frame: Alien Discovery Box Without Small Boxes by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Different sides of the big box: set images, a Club ad and warnings: Alien Discovery Box Sides by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Three little boxes viewed separately: Alien Discovery Set Boxes by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr They have the images of the sets on the red Mars background. Written names and pieces counts indicate that this is the American version. The back sides of the promo set boxes have combined Life on Mars posters, and the box of Red Planet Cruiser depicts its functionality: Alien Discovery Set Boxes Back Sides by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Different sides of the boxes: Alien Discovery Boxes Sides by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The Red Planet Cruiser pilot is named on the box (Altair), while the other minifigures are not. Instructions and Booklets The cover of Red Planet Cruiser instruction: Red Planet Cruiser Instruction by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr On the first pages, the construction begins: Red Planet Cruiser Instruction First Page by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The back cover has all basic sets from Life on Mars in boxes: Red Planet Cruiser Instruction Back Cover by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The instructions for smaller sets are folded sheets of paper: Double Hover and Rover Instructions by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Their back sides are absolutely identical: Double Hover and Rover Instructions Back Sides by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr In both promo sets, these small posters are included (I don't remember which poster corresponds to which set). One poster depicts three Martians (Altair, Canopus and Cassiopeia), and another one depicts more Martians and the Assistant: Life on Mars Posters by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr There is nothing on their back sides. Besides the posters, all sets have such advertisements (they are identical, and here both sides are shown): LEGO 2001 Ads by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The profiles to attain LEGO Club membership in North America (US and Canadian flags are depicted): LEGO Club Ads by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Minifigures Each set has one minifigure. Totally there are three figures: two Martians and one Earthling: Alien Discovery Minifigures English by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The name of the Double Hover Martian is unknown. He has the same face as Vega, but his body and legs are colored differently, which is atypical for the series. He is one of three nameless Martians included only in promo sets. This Martian can be found only in Double Hover. On the other hand, we know the name of Red Planet Cruiser pilot - Altair. He is a Martian child. He likes listening to weird music and flying at high speed. His name means "the flying eagle", very much like the name of Altair star. His eyes are larger and cuter than Vega's, and his face has nostrils and freckles. Altair is also the only Martian with hair - he has a very funny red forelock! This figure is unique for 7311. The Assistant is an unnamed crew member of the human starship called Solar Explorer. He wears a futuristic spacesuit and a helmet with a blue visor. His face with glasses and a microphone is standard for that years. It's amazing how his bare hands withstand Martian cold weather (-40 degrees Celsius!), or he wears yellow gloves. This Assistant figure was present in two promo sets. The version included in basic 7310 set has a chrome blue visor. For my entire life I thought that Altair's suit is yellow - it looked yellow in photos and comics from Samodelki magazine. This is not true since Altair's body and legs are lime, and this can be easily seen if you bring a human minifigure: Altair Is Not Yellow! by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The Assistant has no print on his back: Alien Discovery Minifigures Back by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr From his back he looks like some fantasy knight: Space Knight? by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr But from his front he doesn't: Assistant and Grand Marshal by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Sets Let's move to the main part of the review - namely to the sets. There are three of them - Double Hover, Rover and Red Planet Cruiser: Alien Discovery Sets by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Rover Rover by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Number 7309 (other versions: 7300, 1413). The Rover represents nothing special - just a small vehicle with an ore detector. Behind the pilot here are an antenna and two side holders, one of which is occupied by the locator. The Rover is controlled by an ordinary steering wheel: Rover by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The wheels are placed on spinning Technic pins: Rover Wheel Construction by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The Rover without pilot: Rover Without Pilot by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Double Hover Double Hover by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Number 7310 (other versions: 7301, 1414). The Double Hover is as small and simlple as the Rover, yet it looks more exotic, because it is a Martian invention. It's something like a hovering scooter or sleigh: Double Hover Back by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The pilot holds the handles, upon which the printed control panel is attached. The set has no stickers at all - the round part under which the engine is apparently located is printed too. The color scheme is the same as in Red Planet Cruiser (it will be shown later) - green, sand green and a bit of orange. The "ski" of Double Hover can be lifted. Apparently the pilot can use this to regulate the altitude: Double Hover Engine Lift by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr "Obey me, Earthlings!" Obey Me! by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Without the pilot, the Double Hover doesn't look so beautiful: Double Hover Without Pilot by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Red Planet Cruiser Red Planet Cruiser by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Number 7311. The Cruiser is the biggest set in this box and the only one that belongs to the common set line. It is the smallest of the "usual" Life on Mars Martian sets. It's hard to understand why this vehicle is called Cruiser - it doesn't look like one. It's a weird one-legged hybrid between a mech and a flyer: Red Planet Cruiser by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr It's hardly understandable how he moves. By jumping? Or is the leg needed only to push off the ground and later fly on jet engines? This leg is particularly flexible due to three joints (larger mechs have only two of them). The problem is that it's difficult to pose the Cruiser without falling. But it can crawl like a caterpillar, for instance: Red Planet Cruiser Caterpillar by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr "Forward, to the stars!" To The Stars! by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The leg can be straightened to turn this weird mech into a small flyer: Red Planet Cruiser Flying by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr In this mode, it flies with two wing-based jet engines. Probably there is the third engine inside the leg. The round piece with flame image is the Cuiser's symbol and isn't included in other sets, except for accessory pack. The cruiser's cockpit is open and has manipulators on its sides. Most likely they are sensors and scanners, but the orange dish may be a weapon: Red Planet Cruiser Cockpit by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The Cruiser from the bottom: Red Planet Cruiser Upside Down by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr This model has pleasant colors. Grey and sand green with small inclusions of green and orange look good. The cockpit without the pilot: Red Planet Cruiser Without Pilot by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr It can be seen that the control panel is attached to the similar part as Martian arms, but grey. The Cruiser contained several extra parts (extra droid and Martian arms mistakingly are not shown here but still were present): Red Planet Cruiser Extra Parts by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr The Cruiser can be united with the Double Hover, and they look like one vehicle (this was Artlego's idea): Red Planet Cruiser With Double Hover by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Red Planet Cruiser, Double Hover and other Martian flyers: Martian Aircraft by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr Rover, Cruiser and Double Hover among other Martian mechs (7314, 7316 and 7317): Martian Mechs (With Rover) by Farseer Eldar, on Flickr I need only Red Planet Protector (7313) for the full Martian collection. Pros/Cons Pros: + Special value, 3 sets in 1 box + Good color scheme + Rare minifigures + Mobility of Red Planet Cruiser and Double Hover + No stickers Cons: - Weird Red Planet Cruiser design - Simple Rover design - Hard to find Thank you for reading and watching! If you like the review, please, leave a comment. The author will be glad to hear your opinions. And if someone wonders why I'm doing these reviews, I'll answer that this is for history.

Was The Land Rover Defender Set Worth It?
StudWorks posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I thought for some bit about getting 42110. As a car enthusiast and MOC builder, I have always loved the Technic manufacturer cars, owning the Arocs, Porsche, Bugatti, and even the Corvette. All those sets wielded me some very useful pieces to make future MOCs with. However, the Land Rover set doesn't seem like a good buy for me... I have a lot of Lego already. It's expensive. I'm not into Land Rover, even though I think the new Defender is cool. The pieces. The lockable differential and the new wheels are the only pieces that I can find use with, and there's not many good ideas I have for green MOCs. I thought about getting the Porsche 911 RSR instead because of its white pieces, but the fenders have prints. So I guess I'll take a pass on both cars, what is your opinion on the new Defender set?
