  1. Hello Lotus, James Bond and Speed Champions fans, The Lotus Esprit S1 is a sports car built by Lotus Cars from 1976 to 1978 at their Hethel, England factory. It has a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and it was featured in the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, where a car famously converted into a submarine after a road chase. The car used in the underwater scenes is nick-named "Wet Nellie". Building instructions are available on the following link: It is a studless build in the new, 8 studs wide Speed Champions style. I wanted to create a clean model which is as accurate as possible in this small scale. I prefer the brick built solutions to keep the flexibility of the used parts in further builds, and therefore only two vehicle registration plate stickers are used. My intent was to keep the width-length-height ratio of the real car and this size makes it possible. The model contains lots of details: for example the black stripes on the sides, door handles, detailed tail lights etc.. Maybe the most challenging one was the front and the front bumper with brick built headlights. I tried to fill every unnecessary gaps and therefore some tricky build techniques are used. The car can be converted to submarine. The model has space for two minifigures with helmets or small hairs. 2. Hello everyone! Maybe it's too early, but let it happen. What do you think of the Speed Champions series in 2022? Do you think it will disappear or continue, or will it be under a different name? Anyway, personally, I think they will stay with us for a long time (after all, they have made specially new wheels for 2021). It seems to me that there is a good chance to see in 2022 in the SC series such cars: - BMW M8 (maybe GTE) - Pagani Zonda or Huayra - Ferrari - some F1 car - due to Toyota license can Toyota gr010 (hypercar) - maybe some cars from the DTM or VASC series Post comments about what you think.

  4. When I first saw the official Aston Martin DB5 set, I wasn't really impressed by it's looks. It's kinda blocky, there were some oddly placed parts, and the action features might have compromised on the interior and the overall shape of the car. Because of a James Bond contest on LEGO Ideas, an Aston Martin DB5 was needed in what I had wanted to build but it was all in chrome gold (You can check that out here). So I recolored it and that's how it looks like. The whole car is completely new build, with elements from the actual set. Changes were made to the sides of the car, I used the Ferrari F40 windscreen and added windows to the doors, the metal bumpers are new, the roof has a bit more curves and the interior is new and more detailed. Not saying the actual set is bad, in fact, as I was building this model, I had build the Aston Martin DB5 set for reference, and as I was recreating it, I was amazed at the engineering and technical ingenuity that went into the set. There were so many elements that had to be placed in weird angles and they were properly secured, especially in the window area. The window area in my re-creation is very flimsy and would fall apart when picked up. After building this MOC I had a newfound respect for the Aston Martin DB5 set and would say that it is one of the best cars that LEGO has created. (But still, couldn't the designer had just fit in a little more curves :D) Anyways, I think I have done a pretty good job in adding more curves and shape, although it could actually use some more. But if someone is able to create an even better version I would be thrilled!
  5. Hello all together, I would like to present you my entry for the 14th Eurobricks Event Contest. The goal was to build a car in Speed Champions style. I did choose the Aston Martin DB5 007 Edition. I thought a regular car could be rather boring so I put in some action features that the car in the movies also has. I also made a VIDEO to show all the features. Enjoy: I hope you liked what you saw.

    James Bond Movie Disscusion

Hello everyone. I have decided to make a discussion thread for one of the biggest movie franchises of all time. Bond, James Bond. Right now a discussion is going on about who the next Bond should be. Some say Idris Elba, some say Tom Hardy, some say Tom Hiddleston. Who do you think should be the next Bond?
  7. Hi all, I've built some James Bond 007 movie cars recently. Being a big Roger Moore fan I always wanted to build one of his nice Lotus Esprits, however, this proved to be more difficult than I had thought. Anyway, I finally found a way to build the frontend without using curved slopes which don't meet the shape of a Lotus Esprit. Now this is the Lotus S1 from the movie "The Spy Who Loved Me": The model is built in a 1/35 scale which I'm actually preferring for passenger car purposes. A scale of about 1/40 would be better regarding the minifigs, however, it seems to be very difficult to get good-looking sports cars at such a scale. Plus a scale of 1/35 still allows you to fit in a minifig without mutilating it: Anyhow this Lotus Esprit might be among the smallest and lowest you may find in minifig scale. After that I also wanted to have the Lotus Esprit Turbo with the iconic skis from the film "For Your Eyes Only". Of course, the colour doesn't match the original plus I had to take the older mudguards here, but I was able to build a better backend on this one: Now I wanted to see what this setting would look like with the newer mudguards. Fortunately, there's another Lotus Esprit Turbo in "For Your Eyes Only" - a white one which didn't last long due to the most stupid burglary protection Q ever developed. I also found a way to add a proper rear-view mirror on this one: Of course, the most important and most famous version was still missing which was built some days ago. I just had to think about a way to mimic the boat-like understructure which is built upside-down: More pics of the several Bond Esprits on my Flickr. Still, there are some more Bond related car MOCs. Some of you guys may know the Rolls-Royce from the movie "Goldfinger" which was built to go with the Aston Martin DB5 from last year: Being a James Bond fan there'll probably some more 007 MOCs in the future. Thanks for looking!

    Bond, James Bond

Here's my take on a face decal for the Sean Connery era Bond. Gun is a Silenced Spy Pistol by Brickarms. C&C welcome... 007 James Bond: From Russia with Love on flickr I hope to add a Thunderball variant soon(ish).
  10. As this was originally a reply to a Request Thread request, I thought I would actually add more and more to it, as I'd love to make some of the James Bond characters from the new movie, Skyfall, but also from the classic films and add them all here. As I get theme done, I'll just add them here, instead of the request thread. Hope you like and as usual your comments and critiques are definitely welcome! (Only have one design done and may not add to this for a while, as I have the Assassin's Creed designs to go back to first) Note: The following designs are original property of the designer and are provided for personal use only, alterations or use of this design for sale are only allowed by permission of the designer James Bond - Skyfall (Daniel Craig version) Though I know it is tradition to keep the eyes dark, Daniel Craig's blue eyes are so distinctive and part of his look, that I think it was necessary and needed to make them light blue. Based on this picture: Clear Version: Silva (Javier Bardem)- Skyfall Here's a work in progress face, as Silva's face is VERY difficult to get right. It may be changed and edited from time to time. For now, at least, I thought I'd release his face for those that would like to print it off and use. I think the best use for this would be with a tan torso and dark brown legs, and the tan swept back hair like here. I will also upload a version with his police decoy outfit soon, so stay tuned. Tan Suit Version (This should be sized correctly to fit the minifigure and will not need to be resized in Microsoft Word if printed off - please let me know if this is not the case) Clear Version:
