  1. Hello everyone! Maybe it's too early, but let it happen. What do you think of the Speed Champions series in 2022? Do you think it will disappear or continue, or will it be under a different name? Anyway, personally, I think they will stay with us for a long time (after all, they have made specially new wheels for 2021). It seems to me that there is a good chance to see in 2022 in the SC series such cars: - BMW M8 (maybe GTE) - Pagani Zonda or Huayra - Ferrari - some F1 car - due to Toyota license can Toyota gr010 (hypercar) - maybe some cars from the DTM or VASC series Post comments about what you think.
  2. Captain Hernando Grey had a very succesfull career in the MAESTRO Navy. Starting with small class 2's, he managed to upgrade till he received command over the AQAR. He was a welcome guest during MAESTRO meetings and many considered him to be a true friend. But then some of the MAESTRO top departed for an adventure in the far South. It was supposed to be a quick mission so with vessels as the "Margot", "Purple Reign" and "Prince of Stedor", some decent firepower left. More than 2 years later, no ship had returned from that mission and imeanwhile many fine MAESTRO ships were lost during trade missions, mostly due pirates. With the AQAR, Captain Hernando Grey had the task to escort the biggest New Terraman sailing in the Brickseas, the "Gotheborg". Traderun after traderun, his task proved very succesfull with amazing profits obtained by the Gotheborg. Neverthless, the losses of other vessels added up, leading to a small crisis in Eslandola. As MAESTRO was affraid to lose the "Gotheborg", orders were given to sail along the other Eslandolan Trade Companies in common trade routes. The AQAR and the Gotheborg met in Weelond with the other ships to start their combined trade missions. Given he had command over the 2 biggest vessels of the convoy, Captain Hernando Grey really hoped to be appointed as Admiral of the Trade Fleet. But alas, it was Captain Flynt who was appointed Admiral. A proud man, Captain Hernando Grey, that was for sure. He looked to the invite for Captain Flynt's celebration party, made a paper ship out of it and tossed it in the sea. The next morning, the AQAR was gone. The most loyal MAESTRO soldiers and officers were found confused on the quay. Confused but alive. All others had joined Captain Grey. Weeks passed by and a few unsuccesfull attempts were making Captain Grey doubting he made the right decision or not. But due his popularity, the crew remained loyal. More weeks passed by, just like a small Corrington tradefleet. Almost unprotected. It was now or never. It was never even a fight. The Alexander and Valkyrie surrendered very quickly. The Valkyrie being a former MAESTRO vessel as well (MAESTRO Corrington has become inactive), their captains accepted Captain Grey as their new leader. Back in Prinport, Captain Grey started recruiting more crew to equip the 2 new vessels. And the finest and most advanced cannons that can be bought in Prinport. When the Garveyan merchant assured it was the best quality in the Northern hemisphere as they were made by MAESTRO, Captain Grey could not stop smiling. Time for some more action! ------ With this, I would like to change the stats of the "Valkyrie" and "Alexander" to make them more Pirate-y! For the Alexander (class 3) R3 - M3 - G3 - Cr3 - C0 - H3 For the Valkyrie (class 2) R3 - M3 - G2 - Cr2 - C0 - H2
  3. This smaller space freighter is meant to get smaller, yet very dense loads through heavy planetary blockades without being noticed due to shape-and-trajectory-jamming technology and four experimental high speed engines that can let them outrun all but one of the ships in the Space Police IV armory. The name of this extraordinary vessel is the RES-Q and was built by Jack Stone Industries as a one off before they were absorbed into Octan Corporation. Mr. Stone himself destroyed the plans and took the ship and a bunch of spare parts to a hidden asteroid at great personal risk (he was killed by Lord Business for this later on), where it was picked by it's current pilot and crew who then joined the Resistance against the Space Police IV. The ship features two laser guns near the lower engines, (in trans yellow, on the light bluish gray bars) and two large fins with RES-Q printed on them from the ill-fated Jack Stone theme. The rear of the ship and the four huge engines. This section also has the hidden cargo compartment, which is accessible via the folding roof section. The name of the alien figure of the left is Kranxx. In the almost ten years since the fall of the Black Hole Gang he has put his organizing and secret-gathering skills to better use now that he is a part of the resistance against the outright corrupt Space Police IV. He runs the blockade runner space freighter RES-Q alongside his pilot Valkyrie or "V" as she is known informally by the group. Valkyrie (on the right) is from the Marvel Universe and was sent to the LEGO Universe on accident by the Bifrost. She was found floating in space by Kranxx, and he helped her to learn about her new home in a strange and unfamiliar universe. As a pilot, her skills are unmatched by any organic, non-augmented being found so far. "V", as she likes to be called, also has started to have feelings for Kranxx.... though it remains to be seen if he returns the affections! In reality, this is a modification of set 75178. (Jakuu Quadjumper) I removed the exploding engines feature, added yellow parts instead of the regular dark orange, and changed the main windscreen to trans-light blue. The figures are a mix of Star Wars, Space Police III, and Marvel. Comments, Question, Complains, and suggestions, are always welcome!
  4. I've seen a few attempts on the internet to produce a Lego Robotech/Macross transformable mecha... with varying degrees of success. After looking at a bunch of pics of other designs (especially one from Daikoncat) I decided to tackle the challenge of coming up with my own. The result was this: Whilst I'm reasonably happy with the balance between proportions and mechanics, there are a number of details I had to compromise on for either form or function. With that in mind, I've set myself the goal of a minifig scale version, that is transformable and in keeping with proportions of the original material. I've started with the pilot/cockpit module... playing around with a few ideas. The idea here is that the pilots seat will be able to maintain orientation in fighter/guardian and battloid modes. I'm already thinking of replacing the technic pins on each side with 3/4 pin (32002) and a thin 3L lift arm (6632), so that this module will fit inside space 5 studs wide. My thinking at this point is to make the cockpit and forward fuselage module with a central spine/frame constructed out of lift arms, pins and axles, depending on where articulation points will be. Unlike my earlier, smaller version, where the mechanism that mounts the legs is external to the forward fuselage, I'd like this to be internal in the larger version. I found a series of images online that shows the transformation sequence to Battloid mode involves essentially hinging the legs forward, having them attach to the nose of the fuselage, then detaching the original mount underneath and behind the cockpit. Minifig scale is about 1:42 scale based on height, 1:25 based on width. The previous version was 33 studs (26cm) long, making it about 1:55 scale. I'm thinking this one will need to be at least 1:25 scale which will make the finished build about 50cm in length, just over 62 studs. No doubt somewhere in all this I'll have to make the compromise in terms of form, function and features... but for now, I'll start with the cockpit and work my way out.

  6. What monstrous threat could bring together a wizard, a kung fu master, and an immortal valkyrie? The journey of the Defenders is about to begin. I started developing this earlier in the year, and actually shot quite a bit of it before the summer. The Defenders was originally going to be one brickfilm, but as I started working on the script I realised it had the potential to be a series. This is deliberately quite fun and comical, as the series is an homage primarily the original Defenders comics from the '60s that I had been reading at the time. They're quirky, full of mystical weirdnesses, and heavy on needless exposition, all of which I've tried to make fit in this series too (to varying degrees of success). 8. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... The escape from Nar Shaddaa begins! The back of the diorama and the Valkyrie... From a captured speeder, Jacen Solo launches himself at the Imperial forces wielding lightsaber and The Force pushing stromtroopers into the polluted clouds below. He doesn't know what's going to hit him! With Luke in tow the Valkyire powers into the sky. THE PLAYERS Jacen Solo ambushes an unwary stormtrooper. Deflecting blaster-fire, Jaina Solo secures Luke's tether to the Valkyrie. Luke Skywalker, older, but ever as strong with The Force. The deadly Boba Fett makes a shocking appearance where the galaxy had once thought him dead! Trooper TK-2407 in pursuit of the enemy. Mynocks abound on Nar Shaddaa. The polluted skies have little effect on these vermin of the skies! The Valkyrie's pilot. My entry to the main section of The Future of Star Wars contest sees an older Luke Skywalker escaping the Imperial Remnant with the help of Jacen and Jaina Solo and the New Republic ship Valkyrie. It's been a hard slog getting this finished, dabbling in lots of different contruction techniques and a lot of trial and error over the course of several late nights. I've even been refering to my wife as the 'LEGO Widow' (thank you so much for your patience). I wanted to encapsualte everything I feel is quintessentially Star Wars: Spaceships! Speeder chases! Adventure! Daring rescues! Imperial entanglements! Wild creatures! Faces old and new! I hope I've managed to capture the spirit of Star Wars - and hope you think so too! Thanks for looking and best of luck with the contest everyone. Tonight, I'm having an early night... Brickshelf folder and all pictures live here when moderated.
