    [MOC] Honey House in Provence

Today I present to you my latest moc: I have always loved photographing beautiful landscapes and in 2007 I took a trip to France in Provence. Towards the end of June in Provence the fields are filled with endless rows of lavender that color the landscape and perfume the air. I adored this landscape and after the advent of the beekeeper in Series 21 of the collectible minifigs, the idea of combining the landscapes of Provence with the lavender honey that is produced in these lands immediately took off in my mind. I have concentrated all the atmospheres of Provence in a single landscape with the beekeeper's house, a field with rows of lavender, beehives, trees, flowers and vegetation. The story behind this moc is a little girl (the beekeeper's granddaughter) who is accompanied by her mother to visit her grandfather who lives in Provence and her little girl falls in love with this landscape rich in nature and animals. The house is composed of a rich interior decor which is observable by dividing the two floors and removing the roof. On the ground floor we find the kitchen and the living room, the narrowest part of the house is the laboratory where the grandfather produces his magnificent lavender honey. Through a small window he can leave the jars of honey from the laboratory directly in the kitchen. On the first floor we find the bedroom, a wardrobe and a bathroom with shower. The grandfather has furnished his house in the most welcoming way possible but it is still a rural house and therefore we will not find a television. All the time is spent in the countryside, surrounded by nature without particular technological means! In front of the house we find a fixed stall where the grandfather sells honey to visitors who come to discover Provence. The base of the moc can be divided into three parts for easy transport. The moc consists of approximately 4,200 pieces. The moc is presented for the first time at the MEI in Verona, 4 and 5 march 2023. [Freebuild] The Museum Thief

Built for Brickscalibur ("Where's Waldo?" category). The infamous thief Odlaw thought this would be an easy job. Break into Baron Ruprecht's private collection, take as much as he could carry, and leave as quickly as possible. Suddenly he heard the footsteps of an approaching guard. Panicking, he searched for a hiding place somewhere in the collection. Can you find Odlaw? Hint: look for the eyes...
  3. The fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy just joined my Midi-Scale ship collection! Here comes the Millennium Falcon from Episode IV – A New Hope. Made of 2,178 pieces, measuring only 34cm and weighting almost 1kg, this compact yet dense Falcon was another unique challenge at this scale. After seeing some great-looking Figscale MOCs of this tricky ship, I couldn't resist making a Midi version. With this design, I took a different approach than most other Falcons out there, and wanted it to look as sleek and gapless as possible. This resulted in a pretty elaborate and unique mix of paneling techniques that involved a lot of SNOT building. One of my priorities was to faithfully reproduce the curved saucer shape on both sides of the ship, and not only on top. As a result, the build features all the details and shapes of the original 1977 studio model, from top to bottom. The overall thickness of the ship was another concern. I wanted it to be as thin as the original, while being able to sandwich some tasty greebles and even the hyperdrive engine bay inside the saucer. The Falcon has two display modes, "in-flight" with its canted stand, and "landed" with easy-to-install landing gear. It also includes a working ramp. ► Instructions for the Millennium Falcon are available at BrickVault. More pictures on my Flickr page.
  4. Two of the first MOCs I created since diving back into the hobby a few years ago were an AT-RT and BARC speeder. Since they were designed mostly in a digital environment, and with considerably less practice than I have now, they were long due an upgrade. So now I've done that, I figured it was as good a time as any to share them here! Although these were my own design to start with, I don't think there's anything particularly revolutionary in the construction of the two. So to spruce them up a bit, I decided to add some lights! Fitting the LEDs didn't require much in the way of changes relative to my first attempts, which now look... Well, let's just say I'm much happier with these new versions. The AT-RT pretty much only had its front armour plating changed, but the BARC speeder went through three or four different iterations before I settled on the version you see here. Both were designed around the 501st colours to start with, since these have been the easiest to acquire recently. That said I made sure the colours could be swapped out for other legions, such as the 41st Elite Corps... ...Or the 91st Recon Corps. (yes, these photos do kind of suck. Sorry!) In theory, the 327th Star Corps (pale yellow) and 7th Sky Corps/212th Attack Battalion (orange) colours should also be possible. There are probably more colour options but these are the ones I'm most familiar with. Unfortunately I don't have the right parts in orange right now to equip my faves in the 212th, so instead I made them a Crab Droid to fight against. You're welcome, I guess, fellas... I have a few more plans for Republic and Separatist/Trade Federation army accessories, so I may add to this thread in future (read: I will necro-bump this thread when I eventually get around to it). But for now, I hope you like them!
  5. Hi guys and gals, today I'd like to present my MOC based on an old Volvo LM 841 Front Loader: The main goal was to achieve the mechanism used for the bucket with the oddly placed hydraulic/pneumatic cylinder. Due to stability, I used a 3x11 panel and could get the right mounting point for the small cylinders. Also, the narrow 1x11 cylinders I intended to use for the lift weren't strong enough, so I went with the stronger 2x7. This sadly led to a lower lift height. Pneumatic pump is placed in the cabin like in the 8455, while I rather place a fake 6 cylinder engine in the hood. In this size I went with front driven engine, although the real thing is 4WD. Main functions are: - steering with pendular rear axle - lift of the bucket - tilt of the bucket - fake inline 6 driven by front wheels I just love older equipment, which gives more a feel of old Lege technic also :-)
  6. Hello my dear friends! Today I'd like to share my collection of the alternative models for the Telehandler 42133. All the videos contain detailed building instructions, if somebody want to build the model. 1. The first one is skidder. A few years ago I've created large-scale RC skidder (Skidder John Deere 648L), and this time I have a tiny version. The functions: steering, blade elevation, boom elevation, the claw. 2. The second one is a racing car with adaptive aerodynamics. The feature that I'm waiting for years to be introduced in 1:8 Technic supercars :) The steering mechanism activates the spoiler, so the car has more downforce at curves. And due to the weight of the wing the steering has a return-to-center feature. 3. The next one is a jet plane. The feature of this model is an adjustable wing geometry, like in the set 9394. 4. And the last one - dozer compactor. This model has two functions: steering and blade elevation. Nothing special, but pretty playable and looks not so bad :) Thanks for watching, I hope you'll find something interesting here :)

    Maleficent's Cozy Corner

At the end of the day, Maleficent retreats to her cozy corner in the castle to wind down with her favourite book and a glass of wine. A close up because she is so cute: Maleficent's Cozy Corner is my entry to the Cozy Corners contest, which requires the entry to fit into a 12x12 frame. This last photo shows it sitting within a 12x12 base: More, higher resolution images on Flickr.

    [MOC] Medieval Trebuchet

Hi! After a little break, I'm slowly coming back to the Castle! Maybe some of you know my projects of siege machines, and there were some - trebuchet, catapult, ballista, mantlet. A few years ago I built a working trebuchet and diorama "The Siege of Bricks". After a few years, I'm coming back to the topic and building a trebuchet again! This time it will be bigger, stronger and better historically reproduced. I hope I'll be able to make an PDF instruction, although it will not be easy, because there will be a lot of ropes and other non-standard accessories (lead balls in counterweight) I wish this time the range of the trebuchet was about 7-8 meters! The previous version had about 5-6 meters of range. I'm curious if 7-8 is possible. Currently the counterweight weighs 164g, which is more than before, the trebuchet is bigger, it has a longer arm. We'll see, haven't tested yet. More soon on my YT channel - Edge of Bricks. I will update the progress from time to time. Let me know what you think about this project!
  9. I've recently gotten into designing some castles, but so far, none of them have been in minifig scale. Still, they turned out quite big. So I wanted to do a minifig scale castle at a reasonable size. I guess I achieved the former goal. Anyway, I picked Castle Lichtenstein, a beautiful little castle in the south of Germany. And I scaled it down a little bit more to make it more feasible. Unfortunately, things escalated again and the result is again too big to build it at a reasonable price. I am happy with the result though. I'm thinking about entering into Lego Ideas, even though it's way too big to ever make it into a set. But one could drastically reduce the part count by removing large parts of the cliff, get rid of the plants and a lot of the tiles, don't have double walls, etc. Anyway, what do you guys think? And BTW, here's a picture of the real Castle Lichtenstein
  10. Hello all, I'm very excited to finally be able to share with you the project I've been working on the past half year. It's a 1:50 scale model of the big boy, with working lights and sound! (yes, another big boy model) Instructions are available, which also includes the PFx Brick configuration file; plug and play! You can build it unmotorized, with 2 or 4 PF L motors, with LEGO PF or PFx Brick, using batteries or 9v. I really tried to include everything and make it as easy and fun as possible You are also able to use a BMR knuckle coupler without needing extra parts, those steps are also included! For more info on the instructions, see here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-139121/SystemTrains/union-pacific-4014-big-boy And if you just want to see (and hear!) it in action, here you go!

  12. This is my moc/alternative/combo build “corner market” Mr produce has fallen on hard times, forcing him to downgrade his grocery store to a corner market, he still is very popular with the kids, though, his only complaint about his current situation is the bank at the top In the back, a fresh delivery from the farm! Jackson unloads the truck, getting the shipment ready for the store! Mr produce welcomes the first few arrivals to the store, Amy and Natasha! Jackson meanwhile, has gotten the crate and is about to put it on the conveyor belt Jackson loads the crate… And pushes it through! Mr produce, on the other end, receives the delivery, all locally grown produce! And by local… we mean VERY local Upstairs, Ben works on managing the banks reserves, everything is in order! 9 hours later, mr produce closes up for the night… little does he know, the truck is back, but why? Midnight delivery? Recreational driving? No! Crime!, as daisy kaboom has been behind the scenes the whole time! Using the lift she secretly had in the truck, she is able to get up to the bank… A few minutes later, KABOOM! She has blown a hole in the side of the building Daisy helps herself to the goods inside And then escapes through her secret exit, through the roof! That’s not her only secret, however As daisy enjoys her snack, she doesn’t realize she has more imminent problems… Will daisy kaboom escape? Does mr produce know about this? Stay tuned to find out!

  14. (Admin, if this is in the wrong place, can you please move it still learning the roads here)w I don’t know whether this is a thing in Europe, I in America, when heavy recovery trucks/wreckers or out busy, they use a standard truck with a detachable towing unit, has anybody decided, or ever made a design? They could use Efferson Safeways towing custom design, peace. Then create an under lift to fit onto the fifth wheel and a couple of motors to lift it and pull it, I’d love to make one, but I can’t, looking to design one with someone if anybody is thinking about it, would be nice to have a model show, so you could take one truck into two different things, one that could pull a trailer than one that could have a Btu to pull a ruined vehicle. I think it would be pretty cool. Just thinking on how the motors would work. a Btu to pull a ruined vehicle. I think it would be pretty cool. Just thinking on how the motors would work. https://www.millerind.com/products/holmes/holmes-dtu Going to crack out my iPad tomorrow. And see if I can find a Lego design app where I can make one on there that works and attaches off the fifth wheel. I think it would be really cool. I have quite a few ideas up my sleeve it’s just a shame I can’t put them to paper. What is everybody’s idea/feedback would love to hear what your input is

  18. I present my new build: over1 by David_Z1, on Flickr It is a 170 cm high grandfather clock, built with about 9000 bricks. The structure is meant to be bio-inspired, with a double helix (dna-like) pattern. The main load bearing element are four technic brick reinforced pillars at the edges, which are connected by the said helix-like grider structure. The power is provided by a pretty light (by my standards anyway :P) 0.3 kg weight. It is sufficient for 16 hours of operation. mainw by David_Z1, on Flickr The clock face is constructed mostly with 1x2 plates, the whole structure is under slight tension. over2 by David_Z1, on Flickr The hands assembly uses my new solution with worm gear. The minute hand (axle) is geared up 2:1 and then geared down 1:24 to differential casing, which holds hours hand. hands by David_Z1, on Flickr The escapement used here is a so-called Grasshopper escapement, invented by John Harrison. My particular implementation uses two wheels to make the whole mechanism completely symmetric. The system is highly efficient (needs 70 microwatts to run) and accurate (clock error is under 1 minute per day) escapement by David_Z1, on Flickr Video:

    [MOC] Forbidden Island Remastered

Ahoy y'all! I shared a few pics of this bad boy already but after making a few tweaks and taking some more photos, I'm ready to properly present my latest project to the world. Behold, Forbidden Island Remastered! Forbidden Island Draft_Copy by Chris Boyd, on Flickr IMG_5194 by Chris Boyd, on Flickr IMG_5362 by Chris Boyd, on Flickr IMG_5357 by Chris Boyd, on Flickr IMG_5370 by Chris Boyd, on Flickr IMG_5367 by Chris Boyd, on Flickr IMG_5364 by Chris Boyd, on Flickr IMG_5372 by Chris Boyd, on Flickr 6270 Forbidden Island was one of my favorite sets as a kid, and I included many of the original features. I came up with a new way to create the rope bridge, as I wanted to use current production parts to the extent practical. The second floor of the hideout includes a functioning trap door to capture any of those pesky Bluecoats. I also added a lot more greenery and some critters that would typically be found on such a verdant tropical isle. This is my most ambitious MOC to date and it took me a few months to construct. [MOC] Trabant 601

Hello Trabi and Speed Champions fans, Trabant 601 (or Trabant P601 series) is one of the most iconic Eastern Bloc cars of my childhood. It was a Trabant model produced by VEB Sachsenring in Zwickau, Saxony. It was the third generation of the model, built for the longest production time, from 1964 to 1990. As a result, it is the best-known Trabant model and often referred to simply as "the Trabant" or "the Trabi". During this long production run, 2,818,547 Trabant 601s were produced overall and it was the most common vehicle in former East Germany. Building instructions are available on the following links: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-137852/_TLG_/trabant-601 https://www.mocsmarket.com/lego-mocs/trabant-601/ It is a studless build in the original, 6 studs wide Speed Champions scale and fits perfectly to the new City style cars too. I have minimized the number of the stickers to keep the flexibility of the parts in further builds, therefore only two standard vehicle registration plate stickers and a Trabant logo sticker are used. I wanted to build the model as accurate as possible in this small scale, therefore it contains lots of details: for example the iconic head and rear ligths, the front grill, the side view mirror, the door handles etc... Maybe the most challenging one was the wheel and mudguard detail with a half stud offset. The model has space for one minifigure with small or middle sized hair. If you prefer the Universal version, then you need only 3 extra parts and it is an easy modification. 22. Hello everyone! I am glad to introduce you my Mercedes Unimog U4000. I made it last autumn for trial competitions and it became my first successful RC Lego model with Brushless RC motor. Technical aspects: - Brushless RC motor 1000kv with a custom 3D-printed planetary gear. - Custom 3D-prined planetary 2-speed gearbox with remote control (by Geek Servo) gear ratio 1:1 or 1:5 - RC remote control - 3S Li-Po for power - Geek Servo for steering - Transmission with metal bearings - Planetary wheel hubs - 4-link live axe suspension at the front - 3-link live axe suspension at the rear with free articulation - 85 mm RC tires - Light-weight bodywork, total mass is about 1.2 kg I tested this car on various terrain both indoor and outdoor. It reaches about 8 km/h on normal speed and about 1,6 km on low gear. Since the transmission has several reduction gears (made with planetary gears) Brushless motor feels good in this trial car. It gives the truck more power than it will ever need, so the truck can take a significant weight on board (if one change shocks to the hard one). Oscillating real live-axe and grippy tires provide a constant contact with road, so the truck climbs rocks easily both with closed and open differentials. Due to the reference, the gravity center of the truck is moved to the front, so it struggles a bit with going down the hill, but appears to be a great climber. It can beat Lego Zetros both on low and high gear!

  24. Hello everyone, this is the latest work from MTC: Benz-Unimog 4×4 Off-road RV Designed by Muen 1. Function Description ① XL×2:providing power ② Servo×1:steering ③ M×1:2-speed gearbox shift ④ M×3:3 differential locks for front, middle and rear ⑤ SBrick×2 ⑥ Small battery box ×1 ⑦Yellow hard spring ×8 2. Appearance "Modularity" is a design concept that runs through the design of the car from start to finish. From the exterior to the interior, I have modularized all the parts as much as possible, with the obvious benefit that it is very easy to assemble and disassemble, and no longer afraid of transportation. At the same time, each model is clearly positioned before it is designed, which determines the tendencies and trade-offs when designing. The positioning of this car is mainly to do my best to restore the appearance and rich interior of the real car, so this car uses technic parts to build the chassis, and particle parts to build the appearance and interior. The following are photos of the whole car's appearance, and according to the real car's beautiful pictures taken at the same angle, please enjoy. 3. Interior I always think that the interior of an RV is a very important part, so in the process of designing this car, it can be said that the design of the interior took up half of the focus and energy. Another important reason why I personally like RVs is the various storage spaces, which can be a storage space in places you don't expect, so I also built more storage spaces when designing the interior. The following is a detailed introduction to the interior of this car, I hope you can enjoy it. (1)Cab ① Seats The design of the seats uses #99563 to shape the unevenness of the surface, while the base under each seat consists of four #4532 for additional storage space. Behind the front seats are shelf baskets and in-car video for rear passengers to use and provide entertainment during the drive. ② Central Console I divided the center console into two parts, front and rear. For the front center console, there are several storage spaces with three drink holders. At the same time, there is a shift lever, handbrake and a number of function control buttons set up on the side near the main driver. And the side near the passenger side is the air conditioning vents. For the rear center console, a number of storage space and drink placement that must be the regular configuration, front and side air vents and air conditioning adjustment knob. There is a small clock in the middle for the rear passengers to see the time, but also equipped with a blue satellite phone, we all know that the wilderness places or satellite phone more reliable. Here are photos of the combination of the front and rear master consoles (2)Living area The living area is also designed with rich interiors and "modular". There are two main purposes, one is to facilitate the display of the interior, because my first off-road RV work "Conqueror F", in the process of display found that the interior can not be well displayed. the second is to allow the weight of the car to be reduced during the driving process. So the interior of the living area is very easy to remove as a whole. The interior of the rear compartment consists of 9 main parts, let me introduce them one by one below ① Kitchen Due to the limited space, the kitchen is all open, I personally divided it into 3 sections. First is the lower area, which is a variety of storage space for dishes, I also placed a garbage can, specifically for food waste. The second is the middle area, where the cooking is done, the left is the sink, the right is the stove, most RV's kitchen stove is covered, this is no exception. A variety of pots and pans as well as a wealth of spices hanging on the wall, and a range hood directly above the stove. Finally, there is the upper area with a blue microwave oven and two storage spaces. ②Bar I personally like the bar very much, so I also designed a bar in this RV, mainly for making various desserts and beverages during the rest of the day in the car. The lower half of the bar has 2 levels of storage space, mainly for cups and unopened drinks. The upper part is mainly for a small number of commonly used cups and 2 desserts that have just been made, and there is also a beverage machine with 4 different drinks. These 4 drinks are: orange - Fanta; red - Coke; green - Sprite; blue - Mizone. ③ Left side of the entrance door This module consists of three parts. The lower part is a fire extinguisher. In case there is a fire in the process of parking rest or entertainment outside the car, you can get the fire extinguisher nearby at the first time. In the middle is a white fridge, close to the kitchen and bar for easy cooking. The upper part is a small open storage space. ④ Right side of the entrance door This module is also composed of 3 parts, the lower part is a two-layer shoe rack, placed at the door, in and out of the door is convenient to change and put shoes. In the middle is a small storage space, which is mainly used to place umbrellas to prevent rain from touching the wetland board; There are also two hooks for hanging hats. The upper part is the switch box, the whole living area power switch, there is a specific instrument to show the real-time data of the living area electricity. ⑤ Sofa This car is equipped with two large electric sofa, placed opposite, sofa side armrest has adjustment knob and small display screen. Among them, the sofa near the side of the bed, the bottom is installed with a slide rail, moving the sofa, can enter the storage room under the bed. A sliding rail is installed at the bottom of the sofa to facilitate horizontal movement. ⑥ Table There is a table in the middle of the sofa. To expand the limited space, the table can be folded. After the table is folded, flowers can be placed on the table to beautify the interior environment. ⑦ Storage room The living area has 2 large storage units, mainly distributed under the bed. One is the common storage room, mainly placed washing machine, cleaning tools, repair tools and other common items; The other is a hidden storage unit behind the sofa, which can be accessed by moving the sofa and is used for infrequent items such as suitcases. ⑧ Toilet The toilet is equipped with a toilet that can also be used for bathing.
