    Speed Champions inspired F1 cars

I've been making some additional 2016 season F1 cars to sit alongside the Ferrari F1 Speed Champions set (75879), first up is one of my favourite teams (despite their poor form in partnership with Honda), McLaren. This is my interpretation of their 2016 MP4-31 #14 driven by Fernando Alonso. The build was straightforward as it follows the standard Speed Champions F1 car build closely with just a couple of tweaks to nose and wing. The stickers were the biggest challenge as it's not possible to put all the logos in exactly the right place and scale. I didn't want any stickers to span more than one brick which limited things still further but I'm happy with the end result. Let me know what you think!

    [MOC] 1973 Formula 1 - medium scale

Greetings Legoheads! May I present to you, a small MOC of mine, its a medium scale 1973 Era Formula 1 car, approx. 500 parts. I think there is not much else to say, I hope you enjoy my little creation!
  3. The 8157 is one of my favorite models of all time, easily the best looking official F1 set, although it lacks in functionality. As I'm selling my collection, I'm rebuilding my largest sets to sell, and this one is hard to part with. Since I don't have the original rims anymore, I substituted some 3D printed wheels designed by effe, and it really makes the car pop! This set needs more appreciation, as the designers really nailed the level of detail. Not sure where to post, I felt here or Lego Licensed would make the most sense. If we can't post official sets, my bad! Photos:
