  2. Hello everyone! Maybe it's too early, but let it happen. What do you think of the Speed Champions series in 2022? Do you think it will disappear or continue, or will it be under a different name? Anyway, personally, I think they will stay with us for a long time (after all, they have made specially new wheels for 2021). It seems to me that there is a good chance to see in 2022 in the SC series such cars: - BMW M8 (maybe GTE) - Pagani Zonda or Huayra - Ferrari - some F1 car - due to Toyota license can Toyota gr010 (hypercar) ue to toyota license can Toyota gr010 (hypercar) - maybe some cars from the DTM or VASC series Post comments about what you think.

  6. Hello Big Lebowski, Corvette and Speed Champions fans, do you remember the hilarious The Big Lebowski scene? Walter Sobchak (Dude's best friend) destroys a brand new, red Chevrolet Corvette C4 (1985) with a crowbar. This car, colloquially known as the 'Vette, is a two-door, two-passenger sports car manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet across more than 60 years of production and eight design generations. The fourth-generation was the first complete redesign of the Corvette since 1963 and it is known for its sleek look. It was produced from 1983 to 1996. An other inspiration came from one of my favorite Matchbox as a child, and that color scheme will be built soon too :). This car could be a nice addition to the set 76903 "Chevrolet Corvette C8.R Race Car and 1968 Chevrolet Corvette". A-Team color scheme is possible too :). I wanted to create a sleek model which is as accurate as possible in this small scale. I prefer to minimize the use of stickers to keep the flexibility of the used parts in further builds, and therefore this model include only one standard Lego sticker. My intent was to keep the width-length-height ratio of the real car and this size makes it possible. The model contains lots of details: for example the pop-up headlights (the model can be built either with opened or closed headlights), the black stripes on the sides, the gray bottom part, the glass hatchback, the side-view mirrors, the tiltable seats etc.. Maybe the most challenging one was the iconic rear side with the vehicle registration plate, here there is a half stud offset. I tried to fill every unnecessary gaps and therefore some tricky build techniques are used. The model has space for two minifigures. I suggest to use small hairs. Without the seats minifigures with bigger hairs can be used too if they are leaned back. (The Walter Sobchak minifigure has a custom torso and head, similar ones are available in some webshops. Its other body parts and the crowbar are standard parts.)   7. Hello everyone, hope you are doing well. I have recently re-visited a model which I started building years ago when I first dove in the world of lego technic. I have made some final adjustments and the model is now complete. It's my pleasure to share it here: 911S 2.4L from the 70's - 1800+ parts - 1:10 scale - air-cooled flat six - 4 speed manual gearbox (an adaptation of the gearbox found on @Charbel's Volcano supercar) - working steering wheel - independent rear suspension - macpherson strut front suspension (courtesy of Gergely's Technic Models on Youtube) - openable doors, bonnet, and engine cover What do you think? P.S.:This MOC shares ~70% of the parts with set 42096 - Porsche 911 RSR. And I have also make sure no blue pins are visible outside. If you are interested, instruction is available here And with the orange F150 fenders available, I'm thinking about building a Targa version too :)
  8. Here is my revamped version of 60278 (the cancelled CITY set called "Crook's Hideout Raid"), modified for use by my WXYZ railroad's Maintenance Of Way (MOW) department, instead of the crooks. Features an oil heater upstairs, railroad track with garage door, skylight on the removable roof, and water tower. The MOW department also owns a excavator, dump truck, drilling vehicle, and a bucket truck, alongside the 1950's vintage rail-mobile for inspection work of the track after the job is done. The front of the facility. Emmett Brickowski runs the facility and it's seven man crew like a well-oiled machine, helping to repair breakdowns in infrastructure / clean up derailments safely, securely, and in a timely manner. ..oh yeah, there is a claw crane on the front lot of the building, inspired by 7596 (Trash Compacter Escape) The back wall of the building. The front office with the break room is on the lower level. The second floor comes off to access this room. The inside, with the upper roof removed. Emmet's office is on the second floor. These vehicles make sure the WXYZ railroad is running smoothly. The bucket truck is from 3179 (Repair truck), dump truck is from set 7789 (Lotso's dump truck), drill vehicle from 7936 (level crossing), and the front end -loader from set 7630 (front end-loader). The black rail mobile is inspired by this fairly recent @hachiroku's build here and by @Cale's pictures of Ma & Pa RR inspection car 101 as seen here. The vehicle rolls quite well on the track with no problems in stock switches or standard R40 curves. The rear of each vehicles has a identification plate designating which railroads owns it. The rail mobile is privately owned by Emmett Brickowski (thus the "EB" part of the nameplate) and is labeled as such. Comments, questions, and complaints welcome!   9. A while ago i bought the Whomping Willow set as an effort to complete my Hogwarts Collection. A lot can be done better and more detailed on this set, but for now i decided to just give the car a little rework. I know the car was designed by Lego for durability and playability but i really didn´t like that odd roof. So i decided to take matters (and bricks) into my own hands and redesign the car: 20210228_172918 20210228_172819 20210228_172853 As you can see, i incorporated a lot of slightly mismatching colors into the car since the one in the movie isn´t exactly brand new...to describe it politely. The car has dings, dents, and spotty paint. I also tried to detail the interior a bit. It still might not fit 4 minifigs, but at least 2 can be seated and some luggage can be put behind the seats...and yes, the back rests can be adjusted. 20210228_163455 As you know, the car gets quite a beating from the Whomping Willow after it crashes into the tree, so i decided to "demolish" it. 20210228_163132 20210228_163005 20210228_162937 I hope you guys like my version. Hello Magnum, Ferrari and Speed Champions fans, this targa topped 1984 Ferrari 308GTSi Quattrovalvole (pictures 1 and 6) was made famous by the television series Magnum, p.i. in which the series' lead, Thomas Magnum (Tom Selleck) drove the car around Oahu for eight seasons while on his investigations, from 1980 to 1988. Several 308 GTS cars were used, a new one for each season, most being auctioned off after filming and all with the license plate ROBIN 1. The berlinetta version of this model is called Ferrari 308GTB Quattrovalvole (pictures 2-5 and 7-8). The design inspiration of this model came from a Ferrari 308 Matchbox which I received as a child. The models contain lots of details: for example the emblematic air vents on the hood (black on GTS and red on GTB), the front bumper with the turn signal lights, the tilted front grill, the rear three quarter window with black cover, the turn signal lights on the front side, the black stripe on the sides, the side-view mirrors, the tiltable seats etc.. Maybe the most challenging one was the iconic rear side with the vehicle registration plate, here there is a half stud offset. I tried to fill every unecessary gaps and therefore some tricky build techniques are used. The model has space for two minifigures. I suggest to use small hairs. Without the seats and the two interior tan tiles minifigures with bigger hairs can be used too if they are leaned back.     [MOC] Ferrari Testarossa

    Hello Ferrari and Speed Champions fans, Ferrari Testarossa is a legendary supercar of 1980s. It is a two-door coupé from 1986 and it is the red version of the car from the TV series Miami Vice as the used Lego windscreen is not available with white decoration. Almost 10,000 Testarossas, 512 TRs, and F512 Ms were produced, making it one of the most-produced Ferrari models, despite its high price and exotic design.   12. Few months have gone since I built my last alternative model from set 42106 and I got desire to build another one. The first model was Pullback Racer that I built for TC18 contest - more about it is here. Then I built Pullback Plane - more about it is here. And finally now I've built Pullback Helicopter. I planned to build it even before plane but I rejected it because I didn't see the way how to connect both rotor blades with pullback motor and landing gear. Set 42106 contains only 5 bevel gears and I usually use 6 for helicopter (three pairs). Later I find solution for problem with missing gear - I saved one bevel gear by connecting axle for tail rotor blade to another pair of bevel gears that transmit motion from horizontal axle to vertical. The only con of this solution is low possition of axle for tail rotor - see picture of mechanism. The last issue, I had to solve, was possition of center of gravity - it was too close to tail so helicopter made wheelies. I prevent them by adding structure under tail rotor blade. Do you think it was all for now? No, it wasn't. I've got one more idea, much crazier idea - I wanna build Pullback Steam Engine! I focused more to functionality than its look so proportions are not correct but it really works. Pullback motor is connected to rear axle and it drives also middle axle thanks to piston-rods. Front axle with small wheels works just like stabilizer (I had to move driven axles too far to rear behind center of gravity and whole vehicle would fall on its front without small wheels). Finally I added optional flame on chimney (smoke would be better but I didn't find any in donor set). I plan to make video of steam engine in action but it will not be anytime soon. Any comments and criticism are welcomed.
  13. This Classic Space version of Build Better Bricks' Iron Giant with the head of the previous @hachiroku version of the Giant's head added on. (consider it a mashup of the two Iron Giant models!) The car was also inspired by this Hachiroku build here, and was originally made by me in September 2020. I have just now revised this early 1950's car for Benny with new mudguards that cover the (enlarged) two rear wheels. I made both MOC models into CS colors (black, both "new" grays, and blue, with white for the car roof) with red and green indicator light parts (on the robot only), and two yellow / black bumblebee stripe tiles with a printed 4 x 2 slopes on the arms / car trunk lid. (They aren't shown, but have this print) The gray jumpers near the robot's waist are for power conduits, so he can be recharged without consuming (costly!) metal products via his opening mouth. Speaking of which, the mouth now can open to allow for posing... but unfortunately, it doesn't play nice with the shoulders, so the mouth must remain closed until I can figure out a better solution. Another thing that didn't work well was the rotating waist: it operated too jerkily and was hard to operate, so I removed that feature. The rear of the robot. Not sure if it's a feature, but the arms won't go down any further to the sides... I tried everything I could think of, but no dice. This is because the arms can't be removed without destroying the awesome-looking - and very intricate - torso. Looks pretty classy, right? The two doors open, but the obligatory black space seat is missing, because any more height and Benny would not fit inside. The rear has a license plate, the classic space logo, and two coverings mostly obscuring the rear wheels. As a courtesy to the driver instead of the space seat, I have included a light bluish gray upholstery for the back of the seat. As usual, Thoughts, Suggestions, Comments, & Questions of any kind are always welcome! So, what do you think?

    Hello there, this is my newest model of a pickup truck. The truck is 6 bricks wide so it fits to the old street baseplates and on MOC streets. I tried to build it in minifigure scale. Build in Studio 2.0 The small 1x1 brackets in dark bluish grey are not official available. I recolored them only for the picture. In the building video, I used parts who are available.

  17. Hello, I'm back in business after some years of dark age and I want to present you my new MOC, which is actualy a facelifted version of my older rat rod presented here years earlier. The model is build from scratch using current pieces and building techniques, sharing the main concept with its predecessor.   19. This is the second time I post for this car. The first one is below at Oct 2018, and that's why I call it v2. It has been about 2 year and a half, I believe that I have better understanding on not only this car, but also those LEGO parts that I used to build this car. Here is what it looks like now: Some tips from designing this new model: 1. Use a good reference to start the design. (I am using this one https://www.the-blueprints.com/.../aston_martin_vulcan/). DO NOT use photos of real car, most of them are perspective, so they won't reflect the real proportion of different parts. 2. When designing the chassis, leave enough (or more than enough) space for the exterior, especially under the curved area, such as the hood. Because extra space is needed for the curve to be constructed most of the time. 3. Also when designing the chassis, consider the interior as well. Enough space should be reserved for the seats to make sure 1) they are mounted low enough (especially for sports car), and 2) there is enough distance between the seat and the steering wheel. 4. The suspensions should be strong on the chassis. Sometimes you may think it is not needed, but it will be needed when adding all the exterior on top of it, otherwise, the car will collapse, for sure. 5. To do a exterior with curve, my order of preference is: 1) use technic panel if its curve is desired, like the roof, the doors and the wheel arches. 2) build the curve using technic beams, such as the front hood. 3) for small areas which no technic part can fit, construct it using system bricks including arches, slopes and wedges. 4) if by all means there is no way out, use soft axle, but never use soft axle alone for structural areas, like windshield.     [Model Team] Mazda MX5 1:17

    I have a new car model to share. Designed on commission in December, parts for this first generation MX5 arrived over the last couple of weeks and it has come together nicely. Less exotic than my last vehicle at this scale (Ferrari LMP1), it nevertheless features lots of pleasing functions and detail. (Click any image for the full Flickr set.) The doors open, as does the rear boot and front bonnet, and the pop-up headlights can be raised and lowered. Fitting in the functioning headlights was particularly challenging given the limited space between the hood, front wheels, radiator, and angled front bumper. Under the hood is the 1.6L four cylinder engine, which can be removed with a little effort (i.e. after detaching the radiator and front bumper). The most challenging aspect of the build though, and the most satisfying to see in the brick, is the detailed transmission running from the engine through the center of the chassis to the rear axle. Also included is an exhaust line running from the engine to the muffler at the rear. There is only one plate thickness between the top of the center console inside the car, and the transmission line underneath, so connecting the two halves of the chassis in a sturdy manner around this cavity was critical. Inside the car are the two seats, which can be tilted forwards to access the limited luggage space behind; a center console with handbrake and gear lever; and the dashboard with radio, air vents, and adjustable steering column. The windshield is attached by mixel ball joints, which, with the inwards angle set on the A-pillars, limits the rearwards tilt to the desired angle. One other detail worth mentioning is the iconic tail-light design, which uses 1x1 taps to angle out the outer set of lights. Although built to commission, the design is not exclusive to the customer, so I will be able to offer instructions through my website (www.bm-mocs.com) just as soon as I can find time to make them. (I will be rather busy for the next few weeks with another commissioned project). This particular model was based on a specific MX5, but it should not be hard to modify to different colours and configurations. Anyway, let me know what you think.
  22. Hey everyone, I'm back with my latest MOC: the car transporter! It's a model I have been wanting to build for a really long time, and have actually attempted but failed once already. The MOC has 2 power functions and 3 pneumatic functions: Lowering upper platform (power) Lowering ramp (power) Raising platform on top of cab (pneumatic) Raising platform on deck (pneumatic) Tilting upper platform (pneumatic) There are also a lot of manual functions, like classics such as HoG steering, fake engine, suspension, and specific to this one unfolding the ramp. I also tried to add in as many details as possible, such as mirrors, lights, etc (and this is my first ever cab design). Video: That's it, thanks for reading/watching!   23. Recently bought the set 76173 (Spider Man and Ghost Rider vs. Carnage) and when looking that that odd looking muscle car on the box i thought "That could have been done better".   24. Hi all! I wanted to share my newest creation with you: It is an Aston Martin Vantage AMR, built in a 1:10 scale. For more images, see: BrickSafe. I started building this model in May last year, and after a lot of building, rebuilding and some breaks, it is finally finished. I wanted this car to be have more functions than my previous one, the Lamborghini, while also building it more rigid. Both of those requirements were met :) It comes with the following features: Custom V8 4 Speed realistic manual gearbox Suspension with anti-rollbars on all wheels Working steering Openable doors, bonnet and trunk Lockable doors Adjustable seats Detailed interior I'm really happy with how the gearbox turned out. It runs without much friction, even in first gear. I would like to hear your feedback, so I know where to improve on my next MOC.
