  1. Hello there ! Here is my first post on Eurobricks and I wanted to share with you my latest Star Wars MOC : ‘’Underground Clone Base On Kashyyyk’’ This Moc takes place during the end of the Clone Wars and represents a base that would have been dug in the deep jungle of Kashyyyk. I’ve try a lot of new and advanced building techniques for me. For all the fans of the Lego Star Wars games, there are two little details I think you’re gonna like ;) If you want a cinematic video of this MOC, here it is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBlj2BaSDEI Underground Clone Base On Kashyyyk by Hugo, sur Flickr Underground Clone Base On Kashyyyk (back) by Hugo, sur Flickr Underground Clone Base On Kashyyyk (top) by Hugo, sur Flickr Underground Clone Base On Kashyyyk (-2 and -1) by Hugo, sur Flickr Underground Clone Base On Kashyyyk (-3) by Hugo, sur Flickr
  2. It has been years after the unspeakable and the survivers used whatever machinery they found to make a new start. The last bit of civilization was rebuilt in a form of the mobile base nicknamed the FrankenBase due to the nature of it's design. Frankenbase was assembled from the following leftovers: Buckets and bogies from a pair of tracked loaders Front frame, suspension and axles from a monster truck Command bridge and helipad from a stranded ship Crane and two containers were salvaged from a dried up port The base also features three support vehicles, a quick buggy, a small bulldozer and a helicopter: To propel the massive base, all wheels and trackes are driven and suspended: The suspension allow the massive vehicle to easily crawl over rough terrain: The track bogies can also steer, giving the FrankenBase a very tight steering radious: The only way to acces the abse is by lovering the ladder in front, which also serves as the ladder to acces the walkways surrounding the entire vehicle: The crane uses a special mechanism which locks onto containers in order to move them: The command deck is protected by nets and features controls: View of the backside with the crane raised: Some trivia about the model: The entire model took me around 2 weeks to build All functions are powered by 19 motors and controlled by 6 BuWizz bricks It measures over 130 cm long, 45 cm high and 40 cm wide The weight is estimated to be around 7 kilograms This is my second largest model built, first being the Go-kart It's one of my most eccentric builds ever The different colors are intentional, representing the chaotic nature of it's envoirment Size compared to the Liebherr: See the model in action the video:
  3. Hello SW fans, Wanted to share my Hoth turrets playset. It's inspired by a vintage toys from the early 80s but useful for today dioramas. I tried someting new for the turrets and the radar cannon, hope you like the result. Building instructions are available on my website : Hoth turrets If you want more photos, just ask me ;) and I'll post them here.

    [MOC] Yavin IV Rebel Base

Here's my rendition of the rebel base at Yavin IV's Massassi temple. I was working from the sketch model as an inspiration from the DK Star Wars Lego: The Visual Dictionary from 10 years ago. This one isn't as big or fancy, I didn't make the exterior of the temple with quite as many radial outcropping as the 'real' one and instead opted for a simpler, square-ish approach. But getting all the important locations in there was key - briefing room, command center with map of Death Star approaching, medal ceremony hall and of course the trooper from Alderaan in the watch tower.
  5. Hi all. I'd like to share a MOC I made over a year ago which I only just got around to photographing recently. Our fearless heroine on long range patrol, will she make it back? 919 CS Spaceship Right Side v1 by Magma Xenoliths, on Flickr Of course she will! Classic Space Welcome Home - Front On by Magma Xenoliths, on Flickr Close up Classic Space Welcome Home - Close Up by Magma Xenoliths, on Flickr Angle shot of base Welcome Home - Left Side by Magma Xenoliths, on Flickr And I also had a bit of fun with photoediting... so here is an attempt at some box art. 919 CS Spaceship Left Side Box Art by Magma Xenoliths, on Flickr And here is a photo of the various sides of the spaceship itself: CS Spaceship Multiple Views by Magma Xenoliths, on Flickr I had a lot of fun building this. I wanted to do something with the new trans yellow windscreens (well new at the time anyway!) and built that area... and then built the engine... and then had to figure out how to connect them together! I like how sleek it ended up. I confess to swooshing it a few times... ;-) I also played around with greebling on the underside and that turned out to be surprisingly tricky to do, my hat is off to those people who make it look effortless. I referred to it as 919 mainly because it is closest to 918 -"One Man Spaceship", which is the largest Classic Space ship I had as a kid. But I didn't set out to make an update to 918... I just wanted to build a Classic Space ship... :-) Larger resolution pics available on flickr for those who like that kind of thing. Hope you enjoy, thanks for looking.

  7. I’ve always liked the classic Ice Planet theme that LEGO made, and after looking at Chris Perron’s incredible Ice Inspector and Siercon and Coral’s magnificent Ice Planet Base, I wanted to try my hand at a build in the classy blue, white, and trans-neon orange colors. I’m quite pleased with the result, and it was very enjoyable to build. The micro truck outside the main base is supposed to be a rendition of Chris’s monstrous Ice Inspector that I linked to earlier in the post, though unfortunately I wasn’t able to pack in all the details on it that I would have liked to. Hopefully it is still recognizable as being inspired by his masterpiece though! This build was my first time trying to incorporate lights into a model, which was both fun and frustrating at times. I’m pretty happy with the result, but if anyone has tips or suggestions about ways to improve it, definitely let me know! I also want to give huge thank-you to Graham Gidman for helping me out with the edit, I know it wouldn’t have turned out this well without his help! Lots more pictures on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, C&C welcome!
  8. Hi, This topic is dedicated to an awesome classic space build "LL928 Comes Home" MOC by Wolf Leews (/instruct. by Jeff McClain). I've just found some days ago on the net. ANd baang.. I want to build it to my kid!!! I was love at first sight. This base is cool, not too big, you can handle, appropriate size for a small exploration outpost and AWESOME!!!! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/e171cf44-c810-4f03-8e24-6d51e5a9bcfd https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-1865/wolf.leews/ll928-comes-home-spaceship/#bi Unfortunately the dll or instructions not available anymore... Can someone help us? Please share the LXF files or instructions with us. This awesome craft was here also: THANKX!!!!
  9. Ive been working on a stop motion lego movie since last years august, which heavily features this republic clone base. This is my first ever attempt at a clone base, using no brick linked ordered pieces, instead only using pieces from my own brick collection and my destroyed (2008) deathstar. These were taken 5 months ago, and i cant take any more pictures of the base because i destroyed it when i finished filming all of its scenes. The turret is an old moc of mine of the "75088 senate commando battlepack" turret.
  10. Service Status: Still looking for somebody to perform this task. Hello, as the title states; I am for looking for somebody who can digitally design me a imperial base with a budget of $300 in total as well as create a list of bricks to purchase from bricklink so I can build it myself. I expect the model to be detailed, high quality, and look good. I never made any builds digitally so I'm not sure how I would be able to rebuild it from a online model but I'm sure you can help with that. Total build budget is $300. You get paid the remaining amount after cost of bricks. So for example, if the build costs $200 from the bricks, then you get $100 as payment. You may use any software as long as it can be easily reproduced physically. I think stud.io would be a good software to use as it links with bricklink to buy parts easily. Here are the specifications and features of the build. Also includes picture examples from similar MOCs and feedback on them. This document has been recently revised with more detail on 7/24, https://pastebin.com/9FDgvCRB Post here or PM me if you are interested in doing this service.

    [MOC] Nexo Space

Hi all, Thought I'd share my "Nexo Space" scene. I built it a couple of months ago for New Elementary's ongoing "Nexogon" parts festival. True or not, I'd read news that the 'Lego Movie Sequel' was going to be set in space... I surmised that this would therefore be Benny's Space, Classic Space the joyous 'space' of my childhood. The Hab/Lab/Base was a structure I'd adapted from a set of spaceships I'd built as my first submission. I was way too late for Febrovery, but what kind of space scene would it be without a rover of some sort? ...and then there was the question of Benny. He'd need a spaceship! I really do hope that 'The Lego Movie Sequel' is going to be set in Benny's Space, and that the sets include more Classic Space inspired designs for vehicles... new printed classic space logos and trans yellow windscreens please! Also, New Spacemen minifigures in other colours!

    Mars Base

Almost completed my Mars base still waiting on 10,000 1x1 round plates in lugbulk to finish the ground detailing so had to display it as is at our show last weekend. I will be showing it next year as it will be ten years since Mars Mission and will be adding more Mars Mission sets to the display, and a hanging frame so they can be suspended above it.

    [O-F04] Soldiers of Domination

Planet: F04 Tags: Military, Civil, Building, Vehicle, Land Vehicle, Spaceship (The Briefing Room before departure of Freegate) Week65_001 by boxerlego, on Flickr Captain Logan: This is your briefing session for your next Mission. You are Now Top Engineer for Operation T. As Top Engineer it is your objective to Ultimately Capture and Locate a M.A.N.T.I.S. Missile Control SAM Base along with all the Hidden Underground Missile Launch Facilities. We have a Location On Planet Illustria for you to check out if and see if you spot anything out of the ordinary. Our Experts don't know exactly where this Missile Control SAM Base is along with the Underground Missile Launch Facility. The Experts have Picked a point to enter the planet from to keep a safe distance and once your in the planets atmosphere we advise you to drop and Fly Low to the ground and use the mountainous terrain to your advantage from being locked on by the Missiles and picked up by the Radar. Boxerlego: Interesting, But isn't that a bit to much to ask for from One Engineer Wouldn't you say? So your just sending One Engineer and expect to take over this Hidden Missile Base. Captain Logan: No, We are sending Our Top Engineer to take over the Missile Control SAM Base from there you will be able to gather and know all the exact coordinates of the Hidden Underground Missile Launch sites. This Job is perfect for you after all you an expert at this Boxerlego and besides the Higher ups wouldn't have selected you if they didn't think you have what it takes to do this after all you will also have Ronin the Kawashita Ninja Robot and The Top Secret Black project itself the Spaceship so you certainly have the tools to do what it takes that is expected from you. Boxerlego: What makes this base vernalable to capture just by one Engineer? Captain Logan: Glad you ask and the Simple Answer is Robots. See most this base relies upon the function on robots from the use of several kinds of turrets and to the Vehicles that accompanied it all Controlled by a Central Control unit at the Sam Base. If the Spaceship is able to control the Central Control the Spaceship will be able to gain Control over the Facility. I know it sounds simple in explanation but when it comes to the Engineering that is your part to figure out. Now that has been said I will be giving you a few items that will help you in your endeavors, You should know what the items are and that basically concludes this Briefing. Good Luck. (Fast Forward to the Present) Week65_002 by boxerlego, on Flickr Boxerlego: This is Boxerlego here I have laid Eyes on the target base and Wow it looks heavily defended. Is that a Cannon? Week65_003 by boxerlego, on Flickr Boxerlego: I Might as well search around the area and see if I can find anything of interest here. (Around Half hour of searching Boxerlego Found an Antenna and manage to connect the spaceship to the antenna) Week65_004 by boxerlego, on Flickr Boxerlego: Wow, This is amazing Spaceship so you can take Control over the base from this point here. Spaceship: Not Exactly. I can only gain control over certain systems such as the Gate and a Buggy. But I still don't have access to the main Missiles system so allocation of all the missiles will still need to be completed. That can only be done If I get access from the Main Controls in the Base. I will make a CD key. When this is put in the computer in the control room it will give me more access to the bases Controls. Boxerlego: Spaceship, I want you to drive this buggy over here and drive it back to the base and make sure to open the gate for me. Spaceship: Well there is one problem with your plan. You are a human and that base has orders to kill all humans right now and the only way to change that is to send Ronin in with the CD Key and put it in. Ronin is more capable of getting past the Base sensitive defenses systems It will be like he was never there. Boxerlego: Ok, then send this buggy over here and I will unload Ronin out Spaceship: Buggy is on the way and the CD Key is Finished. Week65_005 by boxerlego, on Flickr Boxerlego: Ronin its your objective to put this CD in the Bases Computer. Also Where did you get the hat it looks good. Ronin: (In Silent Mode Ronin receives the CD from Boxerlego and gets on the buggy and then heads toward the SAM Missile Control Base to complete the objective) Week65_006 by boxerlego, on Flickr Week65_007 by boxerlego, on Flickr Boxerlego: Boxerlego Sending message back to Command. I have gained complete Control over M.A.N.T.I.S. Missile Control SAM Base along with all the Hidden Underground Missile Launch Facilities has been Completed and the Coordinates of all the Hidden Missiles Launch Facility Sites are now known, waiting for further orders. End ------------------------------------------------------------------------
  15. (When the base and any other digital creations are built in real life, I will add those pictures into this page.) This is the beginning of a journey through the wormhole to a mini-figure called Benny and a civilization on the cusp of greatness. His continuing mission: to seek out new lifeforms, to explore unknown worlds, all in the name of of science and awesomeness. The year is 1980-something, the name of the theme is Classic Space. Classic Space fortress walls The base as it was ordered... will post a picture of the complete setup when built in real life. Here is the front gate of my space base to let the train (or road vehicles) through. It can safely open and close still using the HoG (Hand of God) method without impacting the flow of 9v current (still need to add those 9v tracks..) through the rails... though I wouldn't suggest driving through it with the door closed! This is one of twelve walls sections, held together with the other modules by four Technic pins.(two on each side) This is one of four of the corner modules. I redesigned these since last time to be less parts intensive and have fewer gaps in the wall. Astro Bot Recharge / Repair bay The inspiration behind this large robot-recharge port model is mainly inspired by the mech repair bay from 2006 set 7709. (Sentai Fortress) from Exo Force. I can attach the robot to a small mound behind each foot, where it holds it there by two studs per heel. The dark gray thin sidewall pieces located on three sides of the foot make sure Astro Bot 33 won't wiggle side-to-side and disengage from his charge port prematurely. The wall supports the mech repair bay and also gives me another two brand-new wall sections (in length) in for the base to play with at the same time! Classic Space HQ / Benny's skyscraper - 76038 MOD This building was inspired by my brother's take on set 6398, Central Precinct HQ. He added a back staircase module (which I have removed in favor of an older 2015 Avengers tower-inspired model / MOC I made a couple weeks back), while I removed the prison cell and changed the color scheme from white and black to blue and white with trans-yellow glass. The windows and doors were also modernized, and the large spinning sensor array added to the roof. I've also added connectors to the main base walls, which means the building is fully integrated into my Classic Space base. As previously stated, the rear was inspired by set 76038, Attack on Avengers Tower, from the Age of Ultron movie. This ultimately meant that the 1990's-style model's floors had to be stretched upwards by two bricks each in height to match the newer model's floor-plan. I really like the sleek wraparound window on the top floor of the building, as it is where personal Benny's office is. He gets to look out on the space base, and marvel at how things have changed since his creation in 1984. The right side wall opens up to reveal the inside of the building. Ground floor is official meeting space, second and third floors are for monitoring the radio telescope and other such devices across the galaxy. Fourth floor is the break room, while the fifth floor is Benny's personal office. (Note: On the outdoor patio on floor three is the monument to Jens Nygaard, the gone-but-not-forgotten creator of Classic Space.) The rear tower folds open for access too, and like the side wall, locks shut on a Technic pin. Here you can also see Benny's desk. Lunar Crater Crawler vehicle This model is based off 60192 (Arctic Ice Crawler) from the 2018 CITY Arctic theme, this MOD is called the Lunar Crater Crawler and moves boulders with it's larger gripping claw tool. It can seat one fully-suited astronaut figure. It also has printed controls in front of the space seat. Floodlights sit on the sides of the craft, allowing you to see on the dark side of the moon, while there is a clip for a handheld radio should you need to contact the command base. The rear should feature the Classic Space logo on a 4x2 slope, while a bumblebee stripe printed 1 x 2 tile goes above the logo. This printed pieces will be applied in real life once it's built. Lunar Armored Marauder hover-transporter The new set 75311 (Imperial Armored Marauder) has been transformed into a Classic Space version, complete with revised forward-facing side guns. All the hatches still open, but I couldn't use space seats inside this one, but there are plenty (four per vessel) of 2x2 modified tiles with just enough room for air-tanks in the model... at least I hope that will be the case! The rear of the Marauder. I just need to buy two copies of my digital file as shown, as that's at least $15 total cheaper than buying two sets and recoloring them after the fact. Any thoughts on this MOD? Classic 1950's Moonraker automobile Inspired by this recent @hachiroku build here, I have completed this new early 1950's car for Benny, who seems pretty happy with it. Looks pretty classy, right? The two doors open, but the obligatory black space seat is missing, because any more height and Benny would not fit inside. The rear has a license plate, the classic space logo, and two coverings partially obscuring the rear wheels. The roof is held on by four studs, and is as such removable. As a courtesy to the driver instead of the space seat, I have included a light bluish gray upholstery for the back of the seat. Classic 1980's Security Forces Jeep (x2) This model was heavily inspired by set 75916: Dilophosaurus Ambush from the first series of Jurassic World sets. I have turned that jeep into a Classic Space vehicle by subtracting most of the features and adding the CS logo to this piece on the trunk and a space seat for the driver. This CS version has a trans-yellow windscreen and a revised roll-cage. The rear of the vehicle has a spare tire, license plate and tail-pipe while the roll-cage folds back to allow for you to place the driver in the seat. Cosmic Explorer This is a heavily modified set 70816 (Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!) to features a new canopy from set 75176 (Resistance Transport pod) for the front windscreen, plus a rear turret that elevates and rotates in lieu of the radar dish and repair robots. To match the new canopy, the crew quarters were enlarged and opening roof remade, but the wings still fold out via the same Technic mechanism as in the original set 70816. More recently, I added a new nose to the ship inspired by DC comics set 76028. (Darkseid Invasion) The rear of the ship features the three main engines. The sensor array that was once near here was replaced by a four-barrel repeating laser turret that can rotate a full 360 degrees and elevate to 180 degrees, allowing for cover fire in almost any direction. The wings fold out if the center engine is pushed inwards, ready for the foam-tipped missiles to be engaged and aimed at any Blacktron III enemies... I did remove those yellow missiles, as they were too touchy and could fire accidentally. The main canopy has been heavily modified to allow for crew to go between the engineering and navigation sections without having to exit the ship. The Unikitty-seat area was replaced with a opening canopy for the engineering and fire-control crew to see outside from their stations near the Imagination Reactor. Deep Space Fighters These ships are deep space fighters of the Galaxy-class. Each seat one figure and have enhanced hyper-drive making it nearly as fast as LL-929. (Benny's spaceship) This ship was designed to be a heavily-armed fighter, and features an enclosed cockpit allowing for long distance travel such as from system to system if in an emergency. The rear of each of the two ship's features two engines made up of four smaller rockets. Here is the cockpit, which can seat 1 pilot figure per ship. Interstellar Frigate I really like this ship and have since I first saw it, I just had to wait for the instructions for set 75293 (Resistance IT-S Transport from Star Wars) to come out to make sure it could be built in real bricks with the changes I had in mind. (which were quite a lot!) I'm so glad I chose to do it in LDD first before just buying random bricks, as it required SO many modifications to the design (including an actual windscreen and extended cargo bay!) and changing other colors, that I would have been completely lost just swapping parts out at random. The eight engines are attached in a completely different way to the set design, as 2 x 4 bricks with three Technic holes going straight down don't exist in LDD. This new design was the only suitable way to get them to work on the ship in a very tight space. Also, I added double raised fins to the rear of the ship, for that extra retro '80's space flair. The cargo bay is quite spacious for troops or freight as it has been elongated by four studs from the set's original length. (You can see it is loaded with five yellow space-crates above) The roof of the cargo bay comes off, while the landing ramps fold up / down for loading or unloading of cargo / security personnel. The front of the ship has a space seat for a single pilot with two large laser forward-facing cannons. The pilot's cabin also features actual controls and a real front windscreen. (unlike the stickers and tiles in the original set!) The cockpit roof folds away, just as it did in the original set, which you can partially see here. K8-E the robot dog - Benny's best friend After meeting the Doctor (Who?) and his K-9 (pronounced Canine) unit, Benny decided he wanted a pet. So he bought himself a retired space police bot named K8-E (it's pronounced Katy) who helps Benny with his maintaining his SPACESHIP! and home base of the fleet. The two robot dogs eventually teamed up to sabotage a Blacktron and Dalek peace treaty from being signed, thus keeping the Universe safe from their plans for conquest for the moment. K8-E even took a laser shot from the Blacktron secondary leader, saving K-9 from being killed in the midst of them leaving the self-destructing Dalek ship. When reunited with Benny and the Doctor a short while later, the robot dog was fixed up and given the nod of approval from the Doctor, and a happy farewell from K-9, who left with the Doctor in the TARDIS to go to parts unknown looking for the Daleks fleeing from their loss at the hands of K8-E & K-9. From then on, K8-E has been keeping Benny company while awaiting the return of K-9 and the Doctor. K8-E is actually modified from set 8399 (K-9 Bot), which is a 2009 Space Police III set. Astro-Bot 33 - Classic Space's Giant Robot You may ask yourself: "Why would the Classic Space fleet want a giant robot?" The answer is a simple one: "Who in their right mind wouldn't want a giant freaking robot!?!?!" This Classic Space version of Build Better Bricks' Iron Giant with the head of the previous @hachiroku version of the model's head added on. (consider it a mashup of the two Iron Giant models!) I made it into CS colors (black, light / dark grays and blue) with red and green light parts, and two yellow / black bumblebee stripe tiles. The rear of the robot. The 4 x 2 slopes on the arms are supposed to have this print. The mouth now can open to allow for posing... but unfortunately, it doesn't play nice with the shoulders, so the mouth must remain closed until I can figure out a better solution. Another thing that didn't work well was the rotating waist: it operated too jerkily and was hard to operate, so I removed that feature. Conveyex Crawler-Transporter This is a heavily modified Classic Space version of 2018 Star Wars set 75217 (Imperial Conveyex Transport). It's length has been doubled and the visible weapons have been removed, to make more room for passengers. Behind the trans-yellow glass of the former cargo-cars are seats, so that workers can get to Benny's space base without driving in themselves. (Call it a commuter light-railroad system, without the "rail" part!) The vehicle can be shortened or lengthened in modular sections depending on the needs of the specific mission, but in this particular case it has two crawler engine units, and two cargo hauler segments that can easily detach for maintenance or to drop more segments in / out. On each of the engine units is the dual drivers compartments, located on either side of the tread behind the square openings. Each car seat four figures, meaning the whole train hauls eight people (+ their air-tanks!). ....and yes, two of the handles on the doors are upside-down in all the pictures. Classic Space figures These are all my Classic Space figures. The thirteen green figures are the soldiers of the group, while while the six red suited people are scientists. The three blue figures are Benny (in helmet), Penelope (with pigtails), and Unikitty who are the officers of the group. The two other figures, (the red android and the robo-dog) are T-3PO, who serves as the translator to other species and computer systems, while the robo-dog is K8-E who happens to be Benny's personal pet / security guard. The astronauts you see here are the famous "Lost Six". These half-dozen brave souls were with Benny in 1988 when the space station they were on was ambushed by Blacktron I forces and blasted into a black hole. Benny managed to escape the station before it entered the gravity field, but only just in the nick of time. (He could not reach his ship mates due to a computer error with the hatch systems.) Benny's suit was damaged in the escape, and he still wears it like that to this day as a reminder of his failure to get his crew off in time. This is the last picture of the Lost Six, with Benny out of frame because he took the picture. (He was supposed to be in the picture, but he forgot to set the timer on that take.) Will we ever see these brave men and women again? Only time will tell! Meet AstroKitty (in blue) and PuppyNaut (in white)! I've had AstroKitty built like this since 2014 when I got Benny's Spaceship (x3) from the original LEGO Movie line. I had to find a novel solution to the head-falling-off problem. (double the body width and pretend it's a bigger spacesuit) I was very sad to see Lego never released a blue one of the upside-down 1 x 3 tile parts with hole used in the newer Unikitty! sets seen around 2018 to correct this error. I did, however, note the new arrival of Puppycorn, Unikitty's energetic younger brother from the TV show and was disappointed to see he never had a Classic Space variant, besides the "Alien" version. (which I don't count as actually being Puppycorn.) So, in short, I made one from his Dalmatian costume, made to be double wide like AstroKitty. Sadly, there is no Classic Space logo on Puppynaut, as there is on Astrokitty. (This drives my OCD nuts!) ...oh, and they have headlamps on both their helmets, to provide light in dark environments and a convenient hole for the unicorn horn to fit into. I have used what was left of the word astronaut as originally worded by LEGO, as in ASTRO goes with KITTY; so thus PUPPY gets hitched to NAUT. Thus, we get PUPPYNAUT to describe him. EDITED 5/21/21 added some newer models to the post. As usual, Comments, questions and complaints are always welcome!

    [M - E02] A Daring Heist

Location: E02-Jurin II Tags: Building, Vehicle, Piracy, Spying Job: Explorer After a long vacation, MANTIS had another mission for me. Un-like most of my previous missions, this one involved infiltrating an Octan base and gathering information about a chemical that accelerated plant growth. I was thrilled to find that two of my good friends, Isaac Redsyn and Massi Editoro, were also on the same mission, as well as a MANTIS commo. Isaac was of course assigned to be the driver, which was to be expected. What wasn't expected was the vehicle he would be piloting... An Octan hoverplane. So, you're sure you know how to drive one of these things? Of course I do! I've driven tons of rigs! ... Apparently not enough though. Could you get this thing right side up for once?! I'm trying, I'm trying, but it keeps going every which way! Where are the brakes on this anyways? Hoverplanes don't have br- Massi to helicopter, are you guys ready up there? We might be, if Isaac knew how to drive this... Almost, we're getting into position. Stand by for signal. Roger. In position, proceed with distraction. Yes sir! Here you go little plants, drink up! Go, go go! What was that?! I've got it! Go up, go up! Mission accomplished, good job everyone. Now to take it back to the lab for the scientists to test and analyze. A few more shots of the build: More pictures here: Link It was good to do another AG build, after so many castle builds. C&C welcome!

    Aquazone

Hello all, I have built a small creation based on the Aquazone series from 1995-1996. The landscape is 48x48 tall and it contains several sets from the series. I tried to create the landscape according to the pictures from the catalogs from that time. I used a lot of blue slopes and modified bricks to create the rocks. The landscape was also shown at a small event Megabricks in the Netherlands. A few pictures of the landscape. Here a picture from another angle. Next pictures gives a better look of the base and the surroundings. I also used a few lights in the caves. The next picture shows the light in one cave. More pictures are on my Flickr account. https://www.flickr.com/photos/137652851@N07/albums/72157662307102771/with/23692977991/ The pictures are also on my Brickshelf account. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=560837 Questions and comments are welcome. A better alternative to baseplates?

I was just filling out a PaB cup full of white 4x6 plates for a Winter Village layout, and I found something interesting. By just using the 4x6 or 4x4 plates and bricks to support the elevations, you can create extremely dynamic and realistic landscaping that's actually cheaper than using standard 32x32 baseplates. Using the typical cost of 9 cents per 4x4 plate in regular green compared to the cost of $7.99 of the new 32x32 bright green baseplates, you can divide the $7.99 cost of a 32x32 baseplate with an area of 1024 studs by $0.9 to get 11 plates per dollar, each with an area of 16 studs. Multiply this by 8 to get a cost of $7.99 for a baseplate compared to 88 4x4 plates for $7.92, which has a combined area of 1,408 studs, for 8 cents cheaper not counting shipping. Even though it is a bit more fragile, it can also be easily reinforced with bricks and plates on the bottom, and with a elevation of 4 plates, you can easily place 1x2 technic bricks to modularize your layout. Would this be a more feasible way to do landscaping on our layouts compared to the baseplates we currently use? Theoretically it could eliminate the need for baseplates entirely, aside from using road plates to model roads and highways. Sorry if this is already established, I've seen it used in dioramas and models, but never in such a scale. Here's a few photos of a piece of modular landscape built with this method. The slope of the plates can also be leveled out at any height and secured with bricks, but you can also use the continuous slope to create forced perspective on smaller or shelf layouts. You can also stretch out the plates up to 3 studs per layer and plate allowing you to create steep slopes or flat planes. This is what the understructure looks like, using various assorted plates and bricks to support the inclined terrain. This example was built using 40 4x4 plates, and can be extended further and this method is sturdier than using baseplates which can rarely split, bend, or warp shape.
  22. Hi again! Finally, the Base is finished. Yes, completely finished. Not a WIP anymore! These pictures are from ALEBRICK2015, a Lego fan event that took place in May 2015 in Madrid, Spain. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Feel free to ask anything you want. More pics will be published later! These are the general pictures. The base is 1.6 x 1.6 meters, 16 baseplates (yes, very big, I had to visit the physiotherapist after this event, my back suffered much of loading and carrying heavy boxes) The Base has a 180-strong staff: 109 snowtroopers, 24 shadowtroopers 12 SpecOps stormtroopers, 12 AT-ST pilots, 5 officers, 15 administrative-service staff, 1 mechanic, 1 cook, 1 medic. The buildings in the Base are the following: MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING: DINING ROOM, KITCHEN, PANTRIES, ARMORY, GYM, LAUNDRY, BAR-CINEMA (hey, a bar is something essential if you are from Spain) This post will only show the multipurpose building. -DINING ROOM This is the dining room. More than 50 seats for the staff. A very greedy snowtrooper has an extra-stuffed pizza. Fat! This one...better not to say anything. Should anybody inspect the kitchen to prevent this? -BAR-CINEMA These ones want to have a kiwi. Too much food for too few! Training with simulated weapons is a good idea. Lobster day!!! -GYM AND LAUNDRY The Imperial Navy takes care of its troops. a Gym with a sauna, jacuzzi and cold water pool is necessary to keep high the morale of our troops. State-of-the-art running machines and boxing bags Cold water pool Sauna (better without armour) Sometimes the Imperial Navy´s cheerleader team leader comes by! More fun! -LAUNDRY Keep your uniform clean or the Commander will have you clean the reactor with your tongue! -ARMORY The armory has two levels, and this is what you will find: This is the upper level. You can see extra missiles and grenade launchers. There are boxes with explosives and 6 sniper rifles. Lower level, general view. The kitchen can be seen, too. The weapons specialist having a piece of brownie! Is that serious? That container has some of the mines and detectors for the UAV. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/361379 Extra blasters, heavy cannons, and land mines. Close up on the mines and detectors for the UAV The elevator to the upper level. The "doomsday weapon". Have you watched the film Beneath the Planet of the Apes? -KITCHEN AND PANTRIES This is the kitchen. The Chef prepares ultra frosted pizzas. Are they healthy? :) The kitchen has two ultra-fast ovens and a tray cleaner. Two sinks and a small BBQ complete the equipment. This is the dry food storage. Bananas, olive oil, water, trays and more trays. Cold storage and freezer. Pizza bases, bananas, Spanish omelettes, carrot cakes and other foodstuffs. The small cupboards keep more brownies.

    (MOC) Avengers Mansion

Hello everyone! This is my first MOC ever and it is still under construction. It will be one of my sceneries for my upcoming brickfilm. The idea is to build the Avengers mansion with some of Tony Starks sneaky engineering skills. I wanted to add the gantry machine to the movie at all costs. It can be moved back and forth. The big sliding doors and the balcony with the desk and couch can be opened so Iron Man can land directly and change the suit or whatever. I have a big problem with the balcony. The joints that are used to open it, are not as stable as needed. Maybe you have some idea how to fix it? Of course I will add some more images as I progress. What is planned? - Iron Man armory/lab - Avengers showroom with all the different Avengers - A garage with different vehicles If you guys have some ideas just let me know :) Greetings, qoob

    [M - B06] Sorn Sabotage

Location: Sorn, B06 Tags: MANTIS, land vehicle, spying, military, building AG: Sorn Sabatoge by David FNJ, on Flickr Double D's log 12: Kawashita developed a large shield over several of their buildings that is blocking some of our larger vehicles and spacecraft from forcing them to surrender. I am being sent with a few MANTIS operatives to go inside the shield's boarders and take out the shield generators so that reinforcements can finish the job. Our mission, get in, get out, and watch it blow! It's all or nothing! ~ DD out The epic looking doors and spiral columns Roof of the building Yup! Full interior! Gotta have those sci-fi crates! The doors slide open and the locking mechanism works! You can't open the doors without first detaching them. Each lock sets into place on a black stump with the yellow stripe. Because the rod sticks out only a little bit, it makes locking, unlocking, and setting the locks into the black stumps easy and efficient without sacrificing functionality. Next are the photos that show some action shots and rockwork. Finally, the MANTIS Jeep ------------------------------------------------- This was a BLAST to build! I'm very pleased with how this creation turned out from the colors, the building details, the interior, the rockwork, and the MANTIS Jeep. This is definitely my favorite MANTIS creation so far.
