Thoughts on The Last Jedi Sets

Hello, this is my first post! :) I was wondering what your thoughts were on the new The Last Jedi sets, and which one is your favorite. Personally, mine is the Resistance Bomber - 75188 (except for the steep price...) Anyways, thanks!
3. Standing 58cm tall and 59cm long, this AT-AT from Star Wars is probably my largest robot to date. It is controlled by an EV3 p-brick, and is capable of walking, turning its neck, and shooting balls from a twin-ball launcher located inside its head. Here is a list of the functions of the robot: - Walking: 2 EV3 large motors - Neck turning: 1 EV3 medium motor - Shooting: 1 NXT motor Also includes an EV3 IR sensor for use with the EV3 IR remote. After getting the BWE, I had a plentiful supply of grey beams and panels, which I used in the aesthetics of the model. The head design was the most tricky part of the build. I needed it to look good, while at the same time have enough space for the twin-ball shooter with magazines. However, I'm happy with the end result, as it looks quite accurate to the actual thing. With the amount of pieces I had, I was also able to achieve a (almost) full body cover, which although adds to the weight of the robot, looks really nice. There are also two flaps on top of the head that can be lifted up to access the ball magazines. Walking was especially tricky to achieve in this model, as it was so top heavy. Rubber bands had to be used to help pull in the legs when they bore the load of the robot, otherwise the motors would not have enough torque. All legs are controlled simultaneously by the two motors, so the robot theoretically can't turn. However, I doubt the robot could turn even if the two sides could be controlled independently, since it is so top heavy. The EV3 brick can be accessed through opening of the panels on the side of the body. This was the easiest way to access the electronics while keeping a full-body cover (The real AT-AT in the movies also had opening side body panels). Here is a video of the AT-AT walking, turning its neck, and shooting. More information about the robot can be found here: https://www.us.lego.com/en-us/mindstorms/community/robot?projectid=afba4def-3b6b-49f3-8e0f-f964224763d9 Hope you enjoyed this robot!

[MOC] Scarif Battle

Hi guys, to celebrate Rogue One hitting the screens in the UK I have gone back to my favourite style of building and created this Scarif micro landscape. IMG_20161203_175808 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr I have tried to include as much action from the trailers as possible including the AT-ACT being shot with a rocket. IMG_20161212_135327 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr (for those of you who don't know the walkers in Rogue One are a different class from the AT-ATs we are used to!) IMG_20161212_231611 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr I have included the cargo ship being blown up. DSC_3312 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr IMG_20161213_083734 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr And a tie striker taking on a u-wing. I have tried to force the perspective on this one so it looks as though they are flying high above the battlefield. IMG_20161213_084115 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr I have just put this up on lego ideas and if you like the build I'd really appreciate the support. As always any feedback would be greatly appreciated too! I hope you all enjoy Rogue One and may the force be with you.
5. Hey guys, so I really enjoyed making my first micro landscape MOC (Jakku) so I decided to make a really iconic scene from the original trilogy and decided to make a Battle of Hoth MOC on a 16x16 plate. I tried to get all the iconic parts from the film into the MOC. Inspiration from a few various sources and a few twists of my own! The one thing I am aware of is that the snow speeder is completely out of proportion with the scene however I tried to make smaller models and they just didnt look right. Therefore I have tried to give the illusion that the speeder is flying high up above the battle. Im really pleased with how this MOC has turned out and would be great to hear any feedback or advice you guys might have. ps if anyone wants instructions for any of the elements I am more than happy to send across what I have.
6. Hi again! Finally, the Base is finished. Yes, completely finished. Not a WIP anymore! These pictures are from ALEBRICK2015, a Lego fan event that took place in May 2015 in Madrid, Spain. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Feel free to ask anything you want. More pics will be published later! These are the general pictures. The base is 1.6 x 1.6 meters, 16 baseplates (yes, very big, I had to visit the physiotherapist after this event, my back suffered much of loading and carrying heavy boxes) The Base has a 180-strong staff: 109 snowtroopers, 24 shadowtroopers 12 SpecOps stormtroopers, 12 AT-ST pilots, 5 officers, 15 administrative-service staff, 1 mechanic, 1 cook, 1 medic. The buildings in the Base are the following: MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING: DINING ROOM, KITCHEN, PANTRIES, ARMORY, GYM, LAUNDRY, BAR-CINEMA (hey, a bar is something essential if you are from Spain) This post will only show the multipurpose building. -DINING ROOM This is the dining room. More than 50 seats for the staff. A very greedy snowtrooper has an extra-stuffed pizza. Fat! This one...better not to say anything. Should anybody inspect the kitchen to prevent this? -BAR-CINEMA These ones want to have a kiwi. Too much food for too few! Training with simulated weapons is a good idea. Lobster day!!! -GYM AND LAUNDRY The Imperial Navy takes care of its troops. a Gym with a sauna, jacuzzi and cold water pool is necessary to keep high the morale of our troops. State-of-the-art running machines and boxing bags Cold water pool Sauna (better without armour) Sometimes the Imperial Navy┬┤s cheerleader team leader comes by! More fun! -LAUNDRY Keep your uniform clean or the Commander will have you clean the reactor with your tongue! -ARMORY The armory has two levels, and this is what you will find: This is the upper level. You can see extra missiles and grenade launchers. There are boxes with explosives and 6 sniper rifles. Lower level, general view. The kitchen can be seen, too. The weapons specialist having a piece of brownie! Is that serious? That container has some of the mines and detectors for the UAV. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/361379 Extra blasters, heavy cannons, and land mines. Close up on the mines and detectors for the UAV The elevator to the upper level. The "doomsday weapon". Have you watched the film Beneath the Planet of the Apes? -KITCHEN AND PANTRIES This is the kitchen. The Chef prepares ultra frosted pizzas. Are they healthy? :) The kitchen has two ultra-fast ovens and a tray cleaner. Two sinks and a small BBQ complete the equipment. This is the dry food storage. Bananas, olive oil, water, trays and more trays. Cold storage and freezer. Pizza bases, bananas, Spanish omelettes, carrot cakes and other foodstuffs. The small cupboards keep more brownies.
