  1. The second installation in my food series – this time a breakfast parfait! Quite happy with how this one turned out, especially the blueberries. I had been trying to think of a good design for them for several weeks, but wasn’t coming up with anything. Then I came across those hats, and Isaac pointed out that two of them connected to each other would work well. Only problem being, we had enough of the hats to make just 2 blueberries! So I hopped on over to Bricklink and ordered a bunch from BulkAThon. I usually don’t order parts for one specific build, but I think it was worth it here. And I’m sure I’ll be using them more in the future as well! Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions on what I should build in the future for this series, I’m always open to ideas!
  2. The fabulous Fernando Brothers are known for their fine cuisine; and their fun food shacks are the perfect place for a family party. These three food stands started as a simple idea; to make something that looked like life-size food, and that fit into a minifig scale diorama. I've shared it on LEGO Ideas ( https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2fae905f-71cb-450a-a4ef-827ad96fb574 ) Where the number one piece of feedback was they looked like they were from Rollercoaster Tycoon, and that they wanted to add it to their themeparks, so, with the Rollercoaster dropping for VIPs this week, I wanted to share something for people who are looking to build their own theme parks and looking for ideas. The Fries stand was the first I built. Here's an alternate shot, never mind the dust, The Burger came next. Here's a shot with the front of to show the interior (They all have kitchens inside, I wanted them to be functional) And the Shake was last, as well as the trickiest because of the shape. And how to make it look full of liquid, but I think this works pretty well (This was before before the ship in the bottle release) The next step for me will be integrating them into my own themepark. (I've never played Rollercoaster Tycoon, but love the idea of a full themepark display) And I'd love for it to be inspiration for others; what do you think? And there's a little bit more of it up on LEGO Ideas, including a basic how-to-build video. And if you like it, hit the support button, perhaps you'll be able to pick up your own soon - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2fae905f-71cb-450a-a4ef-827ad96fb574

    Alf's Stars 'N' Stripes Grill - redesign

An update of my first ever MOC from couple of years ago. I decided it didn't quite fit into my layout, and as I've learned lots of new techniques since then, I decided to rebuild it. It's an American themed takeaway / grill. FIRST FLOOR: Alf's Stars N Stripes Grill - grill, rotisserie, fridge, Fanta drinks machine, seating, recycling bin. Also a door out to the back alley where there's a freezer, and also stairs up to the second floor W/C. SECOND FLOOR: Design Studio reception / W/C - A second business takes up the second and third floors: a funky and modern design studio. This is just a reception / waiting area. THIRD FLOOR: Design Studio main office - Two designers' desks, shelves with supplies, etc. Hope you enjoy. Please feel free to leave me a comment if you have any questions or comments! [MOC] Pizza delivery truck

Pizza delivery truck building instructions Parts list
  5. I wanted to create some different areas based on the four elements represented by the four main elves, I've mixed parts from all kinds of different sets to create these places. This one is the earth themed home for Farran the Earth Elf. I wanted it to be part cottage, part treehouse. It's mostly parts from The Elves Treetop Hideaway and the Ewok Village sets. I attached my waterfall cave alongside the treehouse I also made a fire themed volcano cave with a tall treehouse/tower neighbouring it. It's mostly made from a Lego Friends set that has a cabin and a waterfall. I kept the cabin and built the tower above it and changed the waterfall into a volcano. I've created a workshop for the Air Elf Aira in one section of the tower with a bedroom above it, an observing platform with a telescope above that and a turret room on the top. The webisodes show that Azari the fire elf is homeless and just crashes with the other elves, but I've given her a warm place to sleep inside the volcano. I kept the camp beds in the cabin for the humans to sleep in when they visit Elvendale. And here's some random pictures..

    [MOC] LEGO Carrot Cake

Hello everyone! Here is my Carrot Cake MOC! I built it after I bought a cake from my local supermarket (unfortunately I don't have pics of it, I ate it all ). The cream on the top in my MOC is made from glow-in-the-dark bricks, but that's because the cream in the real cake wasn't pure white. It's pretty part-heavy (1495 pieces) due in no small part to the 1x1 round plates all around. Oh, and the orange pieces represent carrot chunks. Enough talk for me, here it is: C&C welcome!

    County Fair

My fourth and final entry for the 2016 MOCathalon. Built for the County Fair category. The build features a fully functional ride, ice cream trailer with interior, ring toss game-stand, and a popcorn vendor. Plus lots of people enjoying the fair. See the ride in action here: Lots more pictures here: Link Thanks for looking, C&C appreciated

    WIP - Old Town Center

UPDATE FEBRUARY 3rd Second version of my Dairy Shop! I made it more sturdy, and converted it into a modular. The roof was changed and a cellar at water level was added. The dairy and cheese shop is run by Cam and Bert (... get it? Cam and Bert? Camembert?), who also live above their shop... seeing as nobody else wanted to live above that, erm, "aromatic" place. The shop has a large cellar where cheese is made. A waterwheel powers the butter-churn. Outside the shop a lot of wares are displayed; a variety of cheese, milk, cream, eggs etc. The home upstairs has a living/kitchen, toilet, and a bedroom with ensuite in the attic. I wanted the building to be a little brother to my green grocer, using dark colors instead of the lighter shades I used in my green grocer. I used mostly dark blue, shades of brown and gray. The ground floor consist of the shop, with an office in the addition at the back. There’s a gate to the side for the delivery of supplies. On the right side is the entrance to the home above. The stoop to the front door is littered with potted plants and flowers. Below the shop is a basement where the fish is prepared, gutted, smoked and stored. The wharf assures a constant stream of fresh fish, sold by local fishermen to the fishmonger. Above the shop is a little home, with 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bath and a livingroom with open kitchen. The design of the Mill is based on a Dutch 'Standerdmolen' (meaning literally "Mill on a stand") The top part of the mill can turn to face the wind, and of course the sails can turn too. Speaking of sails… seems like the miller's son has gotten himself in some trouble O_o Baker's Mill by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr Baker's Mill by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr Baker's Mill by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr There's a little dock at the river where wheat and flour can be transported. Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr It sells tobacco products, newspapers and magazines and some office supplies. And there's a gumballmachine outside. At the back, one of Chester Field's trusted suppliers; Ziggy Rett, is about to unload a boatload of new merchandise straight into the cellar of the shop. Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another part of my Old Town Center is done! It's a Green Grocer, situated next to the water (river) and bridge. Its architecture is based on old Dutch, German and Flemish buildings, with a big dose of my favorite artist; Anton Pieck. The building has a cellar (stock room), a shop on the ground floor, and an apartment. There's also a little extension at the back. There's a pump outside, between the front door of the apartment and the bridge. The shop displays a variety of food stuffs outside. The ugly black mess around the base hides some even uglier scaffolding. None of this will be visible as I build more around this part of the Town Center. Miss Clementine greets her customers buying her fresh produce. Outside she has apples, pineapples, strawberries, bananas, cherries, pumpkins, chilies, juice and more on display. There's garlic hanging next to the door, doubling as a vampire repellant ^_^ Mr. Jonah Gold brings a fresh batch of bright red apples, straight from his farm! Artie Choke, the stock clerk, comes out to help him unload. Around back is the old little wharf, where produce can be brought by boat, straight into the cellar. Hope you all enjoyed! Thanks! ^_^

    Food market

After a long break from building, I finally managed to create something new and take pictures. They're not the best, as my LEGO dedicated corner is still a work in progress, so I had to work with the lights I had available in other rooms. Without further ado, I built this open food market as a part of the LUG's town display. It was a nice change from building modulars, most prominently it was build much much faster. The market was built on two 32x32 baseplates, and is split in two parts to allow minifigs moving from on side of town to the other. There's 10 food stalls in total, and you can buy almost anything. My favourite stall is actually the one not selling food, but flowers. It was also the first one I made, and I used the same or very similar design to build other stalls. Since fruits and vegetables need to be washed before consumption, there's also a small well with two faucets for those who cannot make it home with the fresh fruits. One of the stalls offers home made marmelade and honey, the other one bread and cookies, and the third one sells different vegetables. To conclude, this is a slightly different areal view of the market.

    [MOC]/[WIP] McDonald's

I'm starting to work on a Mcdonald's MOC and I just got done finishing the M logo. The red panel in the bottom center would have the sticker from 3438. I was just hoping for some feedback and if there is a better way to make that M. Thanks!
  15. The recent conflicts throughout all of the guilds have thrown much of Historica into chaos. In this uproar many farms and mills have been destroyed or left abandoned. So now food prices soar and people struggle to gather or grow enough food for themselves and their families. Show one of your characters procuring, processing, or delivering, food somehow. Whether that be through farming/gardening, or hunting/trapping. Possible build ideas include: farms, butcher shops, caravans, mills, and fishing ships. Maximum size 48x48 in any configuration), minimum size 8x8 (in any configuration). Deadline: September 15, 2015 (as long as it is still September 15th somewhere in the world, entries will be accepted) Only physical LEGO entries. All entries must be posted as their own topic in the Guilds of Historica forum, and you must post a link to your entry in this thread. Prizes: There will be a winner selected from each guild and they will earn one of these guild specific parts packs: (top left, Nocturnus; top right Avalonia; bottom left, Kaliphlin; bottom right, Mitgardia.) As well as the title: Steward of Historica Builds will be scored in 4 categories 1. Guild style - How well does the build work with the overall styles and theme of the Guild? Are you incorporating your Guild colors? Does this look like it would fit well within some region of your guild? If your build is actually set in the lands of another guild, explain where it is and why you're building it. 2. Technique - Is your build very original? How does your build stand apart? Is your build well detailed? Have you utilized some new techniques that you haven't seen before? Is it easy to see what's going on in your MOC? Did you have a very intriguing storyline or did you show entertaining interactions between the characters in your MOC? Creativity and originality will help boost your score here. 3. Presentation - Does your presentation pop? Are your pictures crisp and clear? Did you provide different views of you build? Did you provide a good description of the build to accompany your pictures? Photo quality is a key aspect. 4. Challenge Appropiate -Does your build fit the challenge well? Judges will be myself and LittleJohn. Time to get building
  16. 7 stud wide Icecream Truck. Based upon a 7 stud version of my modified Vampyre Hearse. As you can see I've used the icecream-decoration from the new Lego Movie Flying icecream machine. That is a great set to get some of the icecream decorations I needed for my hotrod icecreamtruck I wanted to build right after I finished my hearse. I took me a while to collect all the parts I needed for the truck. Hope you like it. And yes, it's got enough groundclearance to roll on a flat smooth surface... ^ Lovely Icecream ornamentation comes from the Lego Movie Icecreammachine set. As are the roofspeakers. ^ Thought it would be cool to pimp the truck with a gold capped tooth in the grille... No question about it this icecreamman comes from the wrong side of town... (A ring from a Lord of the Rings set) ^ The before and after-shot... ^ Garage scene. The old hearse getting it's makeover icecreamtruck-camouflage... So... Would you buy an icecreamcone from this guy...?

    [MOC] Breakfast

Breakfast including juice, milk, egg, sandwich with butter and "Kalles kaviar" (Swedish speciality) and Kellogg's Sugar Smack cereals with strawberries. Partly inspired by cereal commercial videos.
  19. Yup, we all all know you are not supposed to eat while building with your LEGO. But if many of us followed that rule, we would collapse now and then from long building sessions without fuel. So this is the place to describe the less messy (forget pizza and popcorn...okay!) foods you snack on while building. My favorite is to munch on carrot sticks (or little carrots) because they are not sugary or greasy. Second place is a ginger snap from Sweden made by Nyakers. Unfortunately they are not as healthy as carrots and are hard to find in US stores. But they surely are tasty!

    [MOC] Snack Bar

Hi! The life in big cities is impossible without snack bars. We can find them everywhere! They mean the only one choice for the running and hurrying people to get some food and drink quickly during that very short period of the day when they have a break. Well, this kind of foods and drinks are not the best for our health. Fortunately not every snack bar is bad. For example in my version if someone wants to eat something healthy and delicious, he or she can find it in the menu! Hope you find your favourite food here, and you leave a nice feedback in the visitors’ book! My favourite is the microwave oven and the hamburger tower! „The pizza is ready!” „The fish is ready!” „The chicken is ready!” „The two hamburgers are ready!” ’The hrr krhhh…. The loudspeaker is absolutely necessary. I’m sure, that the employee would get a massive sore throat at the beginning of the day without it! Someone pays, the lady puts the order into the computer, it appears on the central screen, the chef and the other workers look at it and they know what the next order is. The back is very lifelike, too! Empty bins and boxes, air-conditioner, vent hood, big and small trashes and a dog, who hopes to find something… and a lot of insects because of the food. The building has some interesting building techniques. I’m proud of the windows, they are doors after a rotation by 90°. I like it that the white frames are 3D, they leave the plane of the wall. The picture shows, what I put behind the tiles around the window. Look at the windowsills, too. I used offset plates under 2x2 tiles, 1x2 tiles can solve it without that plates. More pictures on Mocpages! Thanks for watching! :) Enjoy your meal!
