This was my submission to the Lego Wizarding World build competition. These are the photos I submitted and as one of the requirements of the contest no minifigures were permitted but I plan on taking a few with Hagrid and Fang and potentially Harry Ron and Hermione.

    Gardar's Cloth Goods

I came up with the basic idea for this wall technique, and figured I should make a full building to see if it worked. Various builders like Simon NH, ~Cab~, and Marcel V. have used similar wall techniques before, though my execution is slightly different than theirs. The cobblestone street also uses an idea that has been implemented many times before – free floating pieces. There is a tutorial available on the wall and one for the cobblestone technique for this build will be posted in the future. It was fun to make another highly detailed building with full interior. Gardar has a fine cloth shop in Harburg, and supplies Lord Karsten with any fabrics needed for use at the castle. Today Eryl and Elise are paying for another order of textiles, and they enjoy chatting with the old merchant. "And father would like three more rolls of red wool for his troops' uniforms," Eryl stated as Elise looked around at the various fabrics on display. Sometimes Eryl was annoyed by being required to run errands for his parents, but a visit to Gardar's shop always meant fun as the old merchant was a kind man who well remembered what it was like being a young boy. Gardar replied with a cheerful smile that was all but invisible under his thick beard, "Certainly Eryl! Are you sure he doesn't want some extra cloth to make a proper uniform for you though?" "Maybe another time Gardar, Father says I'll beginning proper weapons training before long! But for today we just need those three rolls" "Well, I'm sure you'll be getting plenty of fine uniforms then. Just don't be too hard on your instructors, they're not as young as you are." Eryl laughed and said, "I'll try not to beat them up too bad," as he shared a conspiratorial wink with the merchant while giving him two coins as payment for the goods.. 3. Hi, this weekend I played a bit with an idea of non-uniform rock technique. It might be already well know, so in such case sorry about my ignorance :) I just wanted to make a rock from smaller blocks, where each can be positioned/rotated freely. Unfortunately I quite soon ran out of some essential bricks so I was unable to build a "wall" but just a somewhat bigger stone. Hope you like it. Here are some photos: Stone-Tree Rock Technique (Exercise 1) byMartin, on Flickr Stone-Tree Rock Technique (Exercise 1) byMartin, on Flickr

    MOC - Derelict House

Based on visits to derelict buildings; not based on any building in particular.
  6. I wanted to create some different areas based on the four elements represented by the four main elves, I've mixed parts from all kinds of different sets to create these places. This one is the earth themed home for Farran the Earth Elf. I wanted it to be part cottage, part treehouse. It's mostly parts from The Elves Treetop Hideaway and the Ewok Village sets. I attached my waterfall cave alongside the treehouse I also made a fire themed volcano cave with a tall treehouse/tower neighbouring it. It's mostly made from a Lego Friends set that has a cabin and a waterfall. I kept the cabin and built the tower above it and changed the waterfall into a volcano. I've created a workshop for the Air Elf Aira in one section of the tower with a bedroom above it, an observing platform with a telescope above that and a turret room on the top. The webisodes show that Azari the fire elf is homeless and just crashes with the other elves, but I've given her a warm place to sleep inside the volcano. I kept the camp beds in the cabin for the humans to sleep in when they visit Elvendale. And here's some random pictures..

    Bjarn-dar Keep

This build was inspired by Scottish Castles and Tower-Houses. I wanted to experiment with a modular building setup, and a new style of stonework. The keep is built on four separate 16×16 sections that can be pulled apart and rearranged. For the stonework I used brackets, headlight bricks, and brick with stud to give three different depths to the SNOT tiles. Credit for the corbel design under the battlements goes to LL. John designed the brickbuilt arches used here. Bjarn-dar Keep sits in Southern Mitgardia and is the main residence of the Bjarn Clan. Today a fresh shipment of supplies is delivered by some Mitgardian merchants. And one example of how the modules can be rearranged: See more here. Thanks for looking, comments and critique always welcome
  8. The Loreman

    The Hungry Golem

“The man desperately scrambled up the rocks, hoping to escape the giant stone hand reaching for him. Golems are not typically hostile, but they are very possessive of things they believe are theirs. The red-cloaked warrior struggled to hold back his enormous pet, and with no small effort shouted some words of wisdom to the fleeing man - “just give him the apple!” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The final result of this build is very different from the original concept. With little success, I struggled for a while in my attempt to build a complicated bridge on the rock base. I always have table scraps of random things I've built at a whim - one of them was the golem creature. He's not very complex, but he looked so humorous with the odd body proportions and the hammerhead skull, so I've kept him built for a month or two. I finally put him to use! - Loreman The Hungry Golem_2 by The Loreman, on Flickr The Hungry Golem_3 by The Loreman, on Flickr The Hungry Golem_4 by The Loreman, on Flickr The Hungry Golem_5 by The Loreman, on Flickr
  9. My phase 2 windmill, this is another build influenced by Skyrim, the windmill is based off of the typical windmills seen in game. I also tried to replicate the tundra look that is common in many regions of Skyrim. This was also my entry to the 2017 Brickstory contest, for the Early Middle Age category. The model features working windmill blades and grindstone, both simultaneously operated by a crank on the back of the windmill. Previous story installments: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th. Glorfindel and Dedan visit the windmill in Holt to speak with Jarl Arfast. "Welcome, Sir Glorfindel! I'm glad you were willing to meet me here, harvest time sees me at the windmill more often than my hall." "Greetings Jarl, it's nice to have a meeting outside for once. This is my friend, Dedan the hunter." "Good day, hunter Dedan," replied Arfast, "I imagine you two have come with warnings of the conflict in Nocturnus? I can assure you all our warriors have been keeping a watchful eye on our borders and will continue to do so. Though our numbers are limited after the Algus war," he continued sadly. "Yes, that conflict has weakened our forces considerably. I may have some encouraging news though, as I've recently returned from Valholl, and some of the centrally located towns and villages have agreed to send some of their own troops to help reinforce our borders. The troops will be allotted to various villages who are deemed to have special need. And the soldiers will be placed directly under the jarls and lords command." "That is good news! Particularly during this season when our men are so busy preparing for the coming winter months. Thank you Glorfindel." "You are most welcome, Mitgardia must stand together to survive. Now Dedan and I must be off to Firoir on a pressing matter. So good day, Jarl." Check out more pictures here. C&C welcome
  10. My first model of 2017, I have had the idea for this build for sometime, and finally found time to do it. The building is modeled after Bits and Pieces, the general store in Solitude from the game Skyrim. I used the same stonework design as I did in my Nordheim Farmhouse creation, though this time in dark bley. A tutorial for that technique is available. The rather complex layout of the building offered some challenges to recreate in LEGO, but I’m quite pleased with the finished result. It lifts off the base and hinges open to reveal the full interior. Previous story installments: 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Sigurd’s General Goods is the largest general store in Daydelon. It not only provides supplies, but is also a common meeting place for the people of the city. Today Glorfindel is met there by a Mitgardian courier. It had been two months since Glorfindel's distasteful run in with Lord Tuinis, and in that time Glorfindel had made several other more successful trips to lords and jarls in the area. He also made the journey to Valholl for a council of Parliament, and now was checking in at Daydelon before heading back to the border. "Greetings Sir, I bring word of the council's decision..." I tried my hand at a few photo edits with this build as well: As usual, there are plenty more pictures on our website. Did not make my goal of completing Age of Mitgardia last year, but now I'm only 3 mill builds away, so the end is near C&C appreciated .

    Leanorll Manor

This was a commissioned model based off of Leanan Manor. This version is a bit larger and features a full interior that can be reached via lift off floors or the hinging function. All the doors and window shutters actually open and close. It is also an entry into the small miscellaneous category of the Colossal Castle Contest. Leanorll Manor sits on a rock island in the middle of a placid lake. This morning, one of the servants brings in fresh water and kindling while the cook peels an apple. Lord Leanor makes his morning rounds and checks in with the roof top sentry. While the area has enjoyed a period of peace, terrible rumors from Nocturnus keep everyone on edge. See more on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, another Avalonian build is coming soon

    Leanan Manor

This was built as part of the InnovaLUG collab, Ye Old Merry Battleground, for Brickfair Virginia.Check out the full collab here. Given the colorscheme and landscape, I thought this would fit well in Avalonia. I enjoyed getting to use some of our new sand green parts, and small castles/manors are always fun to build. There is no interior as when building this, Nordheim was still altogether and I was short on parts and time. Sir Ruari Leanin leads some of his soldiers out on a tax collecting tour. Meanwhile, some Forestmen take advantage of his leave-taking... There are a few more pictures on brickbuilt. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome

    Ellena's Bakery

Another contribution to the Ye Old Merry Battleground display. I had a lot of fun with this build, using tan and dark bley together, along with the red and dark red as accents. It seemed to fit Kaliphlin well, so here it is. I'll be posting my other YOMB builds in the Historic Themes soon. Ellena’s bakery is well known for her delicious pies, breads, and other baked goods. "Well good evening Zia," Ellena said as she set aside her rolling pin. "It is a peaceful night, a nice change from the recent wars and uprisings in the land. But I didn't come here to discuss politics, I wanted to buy 2 loaves of bread and a tray of cookies." "Certainly!" Ellena replied, "I have some that still warm, here you are." "Thank you! I will likely be back tomorrow to pick up some tarts." Zia said, as she paid for the food. "You're welcome to stop by anytime, good night." More pictures on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking

    Nordheim Farmhouse

The fourth module in my large collab with John. See the others, 1st, 2nd, 3rd. As you might guess, this module will connect with the Paddock module, and the previous gatehouse. All of the buildings have full interiors and working doors. The farmhouse itself was inspired by Derfel Cadarn. Nordheim farms often include a small stone cottage. And the main gatehouse sees plenty of traffic as people travel to and from the city, and merchants deliver their wares. See more pictures on brickbuilt. C&C welcome

    [MOC] Watermill Assault

Good morrow to you, Eurobricks! The present day I giveth thee a 378-piece model formulated off of a watermill from medieval times! It includeth three minifigures- two evil knights and a miller who eke worketh as a blacksmith. The setteth itself includeth an assortment of interactivity and functions! This is the exterior of the watermill. As thee can see, tis very fusty and worn, with much of its structure appearing through the outer stonework, and foliage of various sorts adorning the walls. The back of the model. Hither thee can see the outer defense which comprises of a minuscule catapult, and the second floor's blacksmith shop. Thee can eke see the mill wheel and a very-poorly guarded hatch of sorts. I ponder what 'tis hiding? Aye! The panel swings upward to reveal a rare and most precious chest holding the mill's treasure. Thither beest a spider looking to maketh its home within the dank cellar! Hither we eke see the gear system that is hath used to rotate the mill wheel. The activator resides at the apex of the tower aside o' the catapult. I asketh thee to giveth me any thoughts, comments, criticisms, and appraisal that thee wish to giveth! I wilt fain lend mine ear to it.
  16. Here's my build for the second Gatehouse phase. I used a similar ground texture to what I did in my previous build, “Start of a Journey,” and tried a different stone wall design for the gatehouse. The warrior returns to Nordheim’s welcoming gate after a long journey through the clan lands of Mitgardia. More pictures are available on my website: link Thanks for looking!
  17. The stonework technique is made using half stud offsets, see a tutorial here. Check out more info on the Blitzard 2.0 The Elken tribe has been building strong stone watchtowers to fortify their lands against their polar bear neighbors: See more pictures here: link Thanks for looking
  18. Erak had been replenishing the firewood supply of the little cabin near Daydelon's beacon, when he was surprised to see a bright flare in the distance. He quickly realized it was the Beacon of the Bay of Storms, and dropping the firewood, he hastily grabbed his torch and ran for the beacon. Once it was lit, he realized the significance of what must be happening, for even during the threat of civil war in Mitgardia, the beacons had not been lit... I used my new rockwork technique again here, with much more noticeable results. If you're interested in seeing how it's built, check out this album on Flickr: link I hope you guys like this one, it was a super fun build
  19. The Oil Road The Battle for the Bloody Lane(WZ9:G7) For the Desert King! Mummy soldiers have been posted along the Oil Road to ensure the interests of the Desert King are preserved along its winding way. The mummies maintain order, and protect traders along the route from trouble rousers… such as these two Ulandians harassing an elderly merchant on the way to Mophet. “We are hungry and he carries pastries! We will not let some dead rags stop us from taking what we want! Aaarrgh!” The first Ulandian charges towards the mummy soldiers whilst the second was preparing to slink away. Hearing his comrade’s cry (and his own grumbling stomach), spurns him to action as well. Snick The first Ulandian’s head is sliced cleanly from his body, and the remaining soldier drops his spear. “I surrender – the Desert King is the best king ever! Please don’t hurt me! I’ll be good!” And here's just the road:

    Daydelon Manor

This is my House, Phase 3 build for AoM. I'd like to receive UoP credit for: advanced SNOT [Architecture] (for the window designs), and mosaics, stained glass, or complex SNOTted floor designs [General Building (Other Techniques)] (for the SNOT floor and stained glass windows)= 2 credits This build was inspired by LL, Eklund, Sirens of Titan, and DNL. Credit for the corner pattern goes to LL. I used half stud offsets a lot in this build, and came up with some new window techniques/variations of existing window techniques. The building has a full interior as always. There are several large stone manors in Daydelon, one of the most elaborate belongs to the Hamr family. More pictures can be seen here: link All C&C welcome
  21. This is my first entry for the Age of Mitgardia freebuild challenge After William, Maxime and Alexander walked trough the woods of Mitgardia for a few days, they decided that it was time to search for a place where they could rest. They were exhausted and needed sleep and food. They found a river full of fish and now they just had to find a safe place to rest. There was a big rock a few meters from the river and after finding out that there was a hollow space underneath it, they decided that this would be their home for the next couple of days. William climbed on top of the rock and had an amazing view. He could see that they were not far away from a little village, because he saw smoke coming up above the hills, but for now, they're too tired to travel further. William stayed on top of the naturally shaped tower to watch out for any hunters or dangerous animals. William Bright on top of the rock The hollow space underneath the rock, covered with leaves to protect them from unwanted visitors. Without the minifig. I'm a newbie to building MOC's and the small amount of bricks I have doesn't really compensate that but I hope that, with your C&C and these phase builds, I keep getting better at it. So, I would really appreciate any C&C from you guys Thanks for viewing.
