  1. "Volvo Trucks reset its own two year-old record for heavy trucks with shockingly fast speed runs by its latest track-focused creation, the "Iron Knight." This big rig blasted to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds thanks to its unbelievable 2,400 horsepower." iron knight by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Flicker: https://www.flickr.com/gp/139930963@N04/8xb6HX Video: Dugald has created a custom Iron Knight out of Technic Lego to pull my Ferrari FXX. (Unfortunately this MOC did not blast from 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds ) IMG_9090 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr This build is massive, 31 stud wide x 72 long x 35 tall. IMG_9127 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr The trailer can load and unload the 6 pound Ferrari with a winch and a clever sliding mechanism that slowly lowers the car down. IMG_9096 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr The trailer can switch from the winch to the lowering mechanism with a single switch powered by 1 XL motor. IMG_9100 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr The side panels flip up to reveal the battery packs. The Inline6 is located just behind the cabin. I've got to say, this truck has curves never seen before in Technic Lego truck. IMG_9092 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr This build took a month to create, some of the more difficult aspects to build was the tilt cabin with the working steering wheel and the 2wd - 4wd switch. 2. Hi, Here's my modification of 42008 Service Truck set, fully motorized and remote controlled. I decided to keep the original functions (including pneumatics) exactly as they are while adding some extra features as well. The additional functions are driving, tilting of the driver's cabin, headlights, steering and working-tilting steering wheel. I tried my best to keep the original looks (with some visual improvements though) and made the structure as rigid as possible. The PF elements used are: - 1 L-motor for 8x4 driving (with single, shared differential) - 1 M-motor for steering - 1 M-motor for tilting the cabin - 1 M-motor for functions (included in the original set) - 4 M-motors for switches - 2 for pneumatic switches and 2 for mechanical switches - 4 IR receivers - 1 Rechargeable battery box - 1 Led light set, - 2 x 20 cm extension cables, one for the large motor and one for the battery box. Rebrickable: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/Chilekesh/42008-service-truck-full-rc Bricksafe: http://bricksafe.com/pages/Chilekesh/42008-rc (*.lxf file can be downloaded here) Any suggestions on improvements are very welcome. Cheers and happy building!
  3. My entry for the contest is a Side Loader Garbage Truck, based on KO-440 (GAZ-3309 chassis): Features & Functions: HOG steering Flat-2 engine Opening hood Container lift Container tilt Dumping Opening tailgate It was a real trouble to make dump function work. It only allows to set a thin long cylinder, which is not enough to lift much. For the contest I left it that way, but generally it’s perfect with the small linear actuator; in the video I show both versions. Video:
  4. Good day! After watching truck trial videos on YouTube I decided to make my own . The digital version was finished one month ago , but I had to buy 8 55976 tires to build it IRL. It was completely designed in LDD , I was afraid to have some weak points , but it resulted being one of my best designs ever done . There have been very small changes - different colors of some parts & improvements on the rear cabin support & front suspension supports. download LDD file Bricksafe The truck can be powered with any studded battery box. The drive is done by worm gears and 8t gears. Thanks to that , even using 1x m-motor for drive it is quite powerful. The steering is done by another m-motor geared down 1:2. The front axles have different steering angle. The weak point is the chain drive which sometimes skips, acting like a clutch gear. The IR receiver is completely hidden inside. The rear suspension is pendular, and both rear axles are linked and supported by 9l links ( idea from ZBLJ's trial truck) The front axles are linked to the chassis and between them by 6l links , and linked to the body & between them by 9l links. I haven't came up with a good enough interior, but there's enough space for it. LDD file Thanks for reading, I will make a video soon

    Mad Max: Fury Road

Hi all, I've recently made some of the cars from Mad Max: Fury Road. Thought I'd post this one. I used a reference picture from production shots, but modified some things. Reference is here. Comments and criticism welcome.
  6. Hey Guys I've been working on a 4x4 with plow and a 4 speed box but im having trouble with the power functions and actually moving the vehicle. The 4 speed is geared super low to have torque to plow or rock crawl but it can still barely move in 1st and 2nd. the truck is pretty heavy and when the engines start to get enough torque to move it a set of gears starts to slip. i'm currently using to pf Xl motors to run the drive train both are newer versions. any solutions or ideas would be welcome and pictures soon to come.
  7. John (LittleJohn) and I decided to do a collab series based around re-imagining old set themes. Adventurers is a theme we’ve liked for years, though we never had any of the sets. After getting some of the original figs at Brickfair, Virginia, we wanted to put them to good use. The landscape and temple were inspired by Grant Davis and Mark of Falworth. Johnny Thunder and his team of Adventurers have discovered an uncharted jungle island. Within the dense vegetation they find the entrance to a ruined temple! After leaping from pillar to pillar, over the crocodile swamp, Johnny reaches the gateway. They’re not the first ones there though, as the treasure-seeking gang boss, G.R. Edy is there with some henchmen. Will Johnny be able to prevail, and will Dr. Kilroy fall to the alligators? We hope you enjoy, and you can see plenty more pictures on our website
  8. It's lime, mean and fast. It can also go 12 km/h which corresponds to 234 km/h in a full-size truck (scale is 19.5:1). Description and more: http://sariel.pl/2016/09/tatra-dakar-truck/
  9. Hey guys. For the last couple of days I've been building on a new project: a Scania WLS. Dutch people may recognize this truck as the dutch military heavy transport truck, transporting containers and flatracks. Here a picture of the real thing: For now I got only a part of the chassis. I am satisfied with the front suspension, and the rear axle is nice and compact, but it has 4 tires per axle, so a differential was impossible at this scale. Also, it does have too much backlash in my opininion. If someone knows how to fix it, that will be nice! And in this scale, again, just like my previous truck, the wheels are too wide to add drive to it. I got some pics here, please comment if you got some tips! And oh, Steering isn't added yet, I found it quite complicated to do it right, I will work on it soon .
  10. I am in a little bit of a creative lull right now, so I decided I needed to make something small and quick. I very much enjoyed doing the quick build of the 911 I did earlier this year. There was something enjoyable about posting nightly, and watching how something comes together in the course of a week or two. Plus the feedback was enjoyable and contributed to a better MOC. So I decided to do a small tow truck: an International DuraStar. Since I have spent so much money on many pneumatic parts, but find myself decidedly in the Linear Actuator camp, I figured a MOC with pneumatics would be a good challenge. The MOC will feature: Steering Drive Fake motor Winch Crane Crane extension Car lift Final colors will be yellow with blue highlights. Here is the first WIP picture, and more will be posted nightly (roughly). Here we go!

  16. Hey everyone! As someone who hasn't yet explored this whole forum, I honestly have no idea if my choice of subforum for this topic was right - so please don't kill me instantly if it was wrong :) A couple of days ago I suddenly had an idea to build some kind of truck, since I haven't made anything with LDD for a long time. My choice was KamAZ 6520 - one of the most common trucks in Russia, with endless different modifications and purposes. The functions are not so unique - just some openable and turning parts. It is basically my first experience in LDD with something more than 500-700 parts (this one has 2195). Thanks for watching and have a great day!

MOC: Park Ranger Crew Cab Truck

i'm working on a series of photos of trucks and other various Lego vehicles around my hometown of Moab UT. Since Moab is home to two national parks, one state park, one BLM park and endless BLM land, park rangers are a common site. in fact two of my neighbors are rangers. so naturally i needed a ranger truck. the truck is pretty basic, i just wanted to make a crew cab sized truck with a green stripe. since i have my own vinyl cutter and had some scrap gold vinyl i made a NPS sticker for the doors. i'm pretty happy with how the decals turned out. unfortunately it's hard to cut really small so cutting out words like RANGER would be impossible at that size. of course i needed some rangers to go with it. the sherif torso is good enough, the hats and smiling faces help it out. really i think it would be a fun line of City sets. i'm a bit tired of the Police sets and I think a Park Ranger line could be a cool alternative. you'd get the same vehicles, boats, helicopters, trucks, etc, but instead of chasing bad guys they could be helping animals, rescuing hikers, or guiding park visitors.
  21. Hi everybody! Today I present to you my first experience of construction Trial Truck! During this year I was looking for your ideal 4x4 chassis. And in the end I came to this building. In the final, which turned this freak on 4 wheels medium size range (80-82 mm). The main idea of this project was the task of the displacement of the center of gravity down and forward is not at the expense of detail, as well as the compulsory use of the portal gears on both axes for high permeability and stability of large CG. The power installation in the form of two twin L motors located in the rear axle, where through the reduction gear torque is distributed to the axle gears back and forth, and then the rotation of spreads on all wheels through a gantry gearboxes. This arrangement limits the transverse rear axle moves up one degree of freedom. Yes, the rear wheels are posted on the obstacles, but discomfort on the track it does not deliver. Servo motor for steering is mounted on the front axle, which also lowers the CG and the sprung mass model. Power - LiPo, management - Sbrick. Number of pieces - 875 pieces Weight - 950 grams More photos you can find on my flickr and blog

    Truck

Hello everyone! It is my new MOC - The Truck.
  23. After 1 month of building this beast I'm proud to present Dug's build that is completely modular, has 1 l-motor to raise the rear wheels and 2 m-Motors to raise front wheel 5 studs higher, 1 servo for steering and 2 XL motors for drive, working V8 and fan at the engine. Designing and creating this truck was the most satisfying so far. 77 studs long x 39 high x 23 tall (slammed) Weight: 3kg = 6.6 pounds https://flic.kr/s/aHskCMJtR4 Slammed ride 100% modular Rear air ride
