Hi, this is a collaboration between Fictictious Pasta and me - our biggest installment, completely digital. Build with mecabricks and finally rendered in Blender to completion. Maybe some of you remember the late 80ies and early 90ies TLG catalogues depicting Harbour scenes and Piers with a collection of all sets in the same picture. We tried to do that era some justice by putting that scene together showing vehicles, BURPs, the classic Palm trees and a Paradisa inspired restaurant and beach hut. Enjoy a day at the pier! If you look close, there are a lot of old sets remade in here, including the Sand Dollar Cafe, the Beach Hut, a Town Delivery Van, and so on. There are also two new cars for the collab, a Nissan Skyline R31, and an Jeep like vehicle. Hellow fellow EB members. I've finally finished a MOC which has graced my desk for far too long now. The Lock and Quay - a pub and also a fishmongers both set upon a quay. Theres not much interior detail as its quite a shallow build and its more of a token gesture to be able to see something through the windows from the exterior. Anyway on with the pics, only 4 this time; Any comments/questions etc, always welcome! Cheers!

Long Story Short: I have long had hopes for how I wanted my town to turn out, and built a huge table that I dreamed of filling with custom creations and an elaborate layout… However, after many years of collecting lego, it seems as though not even the least of my plans will EVER be fulfilled. I have posted photos of how my layout looks currently: messy and full of holes that rely on the idea of custom buildings. What I need is some advice on how to best arrange my present collection, using only what I've got (some extra parts permitting) to make the most of it, but allow for effective additions down the track. I am also open to suggestions for custom builds that I can start and complete with what I've got. Short story long: All of the sets I own are pictured, all complete, but some with parts floating around elsewhere in the room. In addition to what is shown, I have the 7744 police station (demolished because I couldn't stand the blue windows and unfinished structure) the 4956 creator houses (sacrificed in an attempt to build the large red-roof house at the back) and the bridge from 7900 heavy loader set. To be honest, the town looks pretty lost without the police station and random emergency vehicles floating around. If anybody has ideas on how to repurpose the police station or photos of fitting, alternate designs would be great. In the past, I've gotten sick of seeing things the same all the time, and tried to make little modifications here and there which I could never finish properly with the parts I had. Most of those have been reverted, but I've started too many projects and finished none. The simplest plan I had for this corner of the town was to have a marina running along the water's edge, a port where the large boat is parked, and a railway line from the port wrapping around the outside edge of the table. The shopfronts you see, in a mad rush, were placed around a makeshift square, lane, and the idea was to have port vehicles drive up and around the back of the port, and exit along the water. All of which I can guess is very space ineficcient, and is holding up many other decisions for my layout. A proper automotive shop is currently in the workings to replace the car dealership, but that's it. I have no idea whether what I'm doing is right or wrong, but would greatly appreciate some advice to straighten my thinking, and give me a cleaner slate to work with.

Everything is awesome! … is not the only fafourite song at radio Snottingen running in heavy rotation. Nicole Schwatzinger (Nicole Talkative) moderates the breakfast show with the best hits and latest news from Snottingen and surroundings. Of course, there are also serious news from the newsroom with Klaus Kleewer and Gundi Grause. So the Snottingen public is always best informed, where just the next bag of flour falls over. Gossip from the streets on air ist provided by Linda Zackwasis. She has just grabbed Alice Finch in front of the radio station and "interrogate" her about her Super-MOCs. And then there's the tech troop. Notably Mike Faxflicker, technical manager. Ralf Donnerwetter, responsible for transmission technic, vehicle fleet and girl for everything. And last but not least trainee Tim Turnschuh (Tim Sneaker). They keep Radio-S technically running. As official cars Radio Snottingen has two classic cars from Hugo (the guy from the vintage car clinic). A fiery red old Rover and a old LMW-Flitz truck built in 1965. The LMW-Truck carrys the mobile transmission technic. Radio Snottingen is located in a nice old house built in the 1890th. A modern extension has been added to the house, which carries the entire transmission technology and houses the newsroom. A magnificent building on 48 x 32 studs. Everyone calls in gets directly connected to Sondra Kreischberger or Maifritt Killner. They two are "Chief on duty", Offroom and telephone hotline in one person and they are the secret bosses of radio snottingen. Their boss, Nick S. Zukamelle somehow tries to manage the whole bunch - which he does not always succeed. Keeping track of this totally crazy radio troupe is like watching fleas ... Statistics: Godfather for the station of course is the litte radio station from my hometown. Radio Snottingen has about 3,150 parts. I've created it at the end of last year. Hi everyone I'd like to share with you my second MOC which I have been working on over the past few weeks. For this project I decided to tackle a subject very close to my heart - the Great British Pub! So without further ado... Grab yourself a pint and join me for a guided tour of The Queen Bricktoria! As you can see this is a modular style corner building with 3 floors built on a 32x32 base plate. The design is intended to be reminiscent of British town centre pubs or more specifically the style of pubs we'd see in London. The Minifigures There are 7 minifigs with the model. The 3 characters below are the pub workers. From left to right we have the Owner/Landlord and his daughter the barmaid. The guy with the guitar is a local singer who has been booked to play a gig at the pub. The 4 figures below are the pub regulars. The guy with the beard is the typical sort of old gent we find in many pubs propping up the bar and boring everyone to death with their stories of the good old days. The guy in the green top and the girl are boyfriend and girlfriend. Level 1 - The Bar Outside the building we have a busy street corner. I've included an iconic British red phone box and an outside covered seating area. There is also a sign board advertising events etc at the pub. The main entrance leads us in to the bar/lounge area. Inside we have a well stocked bar and a cozy fireplace. There are also tables and bar stool for the minifigs to sit and enjoy their drinks. Brown carrots make pretty good beer pump handles. At the back of the bar is a staircase leading us up to level 2. Level 2 - Pool and Darts Room On the second level is a games room featuring a Pool table and Dart board. There is also a pool cue rack and a shelf with trophies won by the resident darts team. At the back of the room is another staircase that leads to level 3. Level 3 - Live Music Room Level 3 has a stage for Live Music gigs and Karaoke. On the stage we have a keyboard, guitar, amps and microphone. Also on this level is more seating for the minifigs and a door that leads to a small balcony seating area. Oh dear!!! The singer seems to be a bit of a hit with the ladies. The Finished Model Here is a picture of the Queen Bricktoria next to my first MOC design, The Convenience store, as you can see my new MOC is much much bigger. Here it is, my fourth modular building: it features two distinct buildings on a 48x32 footprint. The azure building has a travel agency on the ground floor, while you can find an antique shop in the dark red one. The upper floors are essential tourists apartments and are connected by a walkway on gothic arches. Hope you like it!

My latest and so far my largest creation was The Rainbow Park. The name originates from the colorful flower beds by the fence, where I tried to use the petals in all the colors I had. As can be seen, some are more common than the others. The park sits on 12 (32x32 studs) baseplates in a 3 by 4 layout. It's fenced on two sides only, as the idea was that it extends beyond the city layout. Here's a view from the birds' perspective. When I started building it, I knew I wanted to make the paths more round than straight, which is a challenge with bricks. Since I didn't have enough curved tiles in LBG, I experimented with round tiles to get this look. Here you can also see the flower beds by the fence and the changing colors of the petals. Although I had many ideas about what to include in the park, the building of this project actually started with the fence. This was meant as a collaboration project with @MstrOfPppts, and the fence idea was his design. He also gave feedback on other details. I initially wanted the fence in a non-SNOT position, but the SNOTed fence (as he suggested) looks much better. These ornamental fences create an interesting pattern. The park offers activities for all generations, there's children playing with a ball, couples enjoying romantic picnic and boat ride, food vendors and elderly couples playing chess. One of my favourite details, also a bit hidden from a view (especially if not looking at the right angle), are the neatly trimmed bushes spelling the name of Slovenian LUG (Kocke Klub). Hi Everyone I'd like to share my first MOC design which I've been working on over the past few weeks. I decided to set myself a challenge to see if I could create a Modular building using just the parts taken from 3 of my existing sets. All the parts I used were taken from the 3 Creator sets above, 31036, 31050 and 31065. The only extra thing I added was a green 16 x 32 baseplate but apart from that, everything else is taken from those 3 sets. So here is my very first MOC - The Modular Convenience Store As you can see the model is 16 studs wide and is designed to fit in with the Modular building series. There are 3 levels and although it's essentially one building, I wanted to give the impression from the outside that it consists of 2 narrow buildings side by side with the main shop on the left and the tall blue section to the right. Level 1 - The Convenience Store The first level of the building is the Convenience Store itself. Outside on the front we have a bench, street lamp, flower display and a fire hydrant. The main door at at the base of the blue tower gives access to the inside of the store. Inside the store there is a cash desk, fruit and vegetables and shelves with various items for sale. I also built a small shooping trolley for the minifigs to use with their shopping. A door at the back of the store gives access to the rear of the building. At the back is a staircase leading to the second level. Level 2 - Apartment On the middle level is an apartment / studio flat. On the outside is a large Bay window and a door with a Juliet balcony looking out on to the street below. The inside of the apartment is pretty small but I have managed to squeeze in a kithcen, TV, bed, lamp, shelves, table and stool. Level 3 and Roof Outside again the only way for the minifigs to reach the next level is via a ladder on the back of the building. The top level consists of a small building and a roof top garden. The roof top building is extremely small (6 x 4 studs) but the roof can be removed and inside is a table with binoculars, a lamp and a brick built sweeping brush hanging on the wall. A door from this small building leads out in to the roof top garden. Here we have a BBQ, seat, plants and a glass covered vegetable patch. Hi I would like to show you my Liebherr L586 wheel loader. The scale is about 1:42 or 1:43. So far I have used about 600 bricks. Maybe a few more will come later. I built the wheel loader in white because I liked this color scheme best. You can play with it, too. A minifigure fits in the cabin, you can steer and the shovel can be moved up and down and dump. We decided to divide the LEGO 10251 Brick Bank into 2 separate buildings. The bank became Umbrella Bank This is the second building, which contains the Laundromat and an apartment with full interior. The apartment contains an elevator, rehearsal room, kitchen, bathroom/toilet, 2 bedrooms and a living room. It's not presented as an apartment with a family living there, but more as scenes that might happen in a LEGO world. Our version does not have much in common with the original version of the laundromat, except from the interior and a few details from the facade. The main colors are dark azur, dark blue, black and silver. Though it's a modular building, the size does not fit with the official modular buildings. It's 26x26 studs and 75 cm tall. This is the first of hopefully many tall modular buildings that eventually will form a street in our LEGO layout.

Francois' Hardware Store || The Pit || The Asylum I always wanted to make some Modular MOCs but the prospect of the huge pool of available parts seemed daunting. Then a couple of brick orders didn't go exactly the way I expected and so I decided to make the best out of it and try to redesign some of the Modulars as 16 wide buildings. Whether it is because you don't have enough space in your town, or you want a use for a duplicate set you somehow got, or maybe you're just tired of looking at the official model, these alternate builds are a great way to utilize the parts from the original sets. I'm hoping that this will also inspire other would-be-MOCers to try their hand at alternate models as I think they are a perfect way to reuse the bricks. And for me personally the restrictions of the available parts makes it more focused and promotes creativity. I am hoping eventually to redesign all of the Modulars, potentially with the exception of the Pet Shop which is basically already done. So without further ado, I would like to present the first two buildings: Francois' Hardware Store (alternate build of the Fire Brigade), The Pit (alternate build of the Palace Cinema) and The Asylum (alternate build of the Cafe Corner): Francois' Hardware Store The idea behind this one was to reuse all of the equipment from the Fire Brigade in a way that makes sense. A store was the obvious choice as you can display the items as merchandise. The owner is an avid artist who displays his paintings throughout the house as decoration. Lots of furniture, both new and old, fill out the interior and a homemade sculpture adorns the facade. The Pit For the Palace Cinema alternate build, I wanted to really move as far away from the original's look as possible. While the color scheme is obviously limited by the bricks available in the original, there is a substantial amount of blue plates that can be used for accents. Combined with a departure from the original style to the Detective's Office layout, I believe this building can fulfil a very different function in a town layout as well as appeal to people who dislike the Cinema's unique style. In terms of interesting features, I was forced to use a brick-built door for the entrance to the first floor as there was no space for stairs on the ground floor and there is only one actual door piece in the original model. In the end it worked out quite well and it can be easily opened and closed without leaving unsightly gaps, but at the cost of being a tad too wide. There is also a "sliding" french window in the apartment leading out to the balcony. Another interesting problem was the lack of a 16w baseplate. In order to be a "true" alternate model, I didn't want to use one from a different set so instead I managed to find a way to create a pseudo-baseplate from the leftover plates in the set. The main disadvantage here is that the ground is thicker than a standard baseplate, so I would suggest you change it into a standard baseplate if you have a spare one (or use the spare one from the Fire Brigade, if you're building both of the above). The Asylum This particular building highlights how many different parts we often forget about or misremember when it comes to large builds. If you take a look at the stock Cafe Corner modular building, you'll see very little blue. It's prominently featured on the ground floor, though mostly obstructed by other features. The upper floors don't really have any visible blue at all. When doing an alternate model, I try to move as far as possible from the original, because using the same colors automatically evokes the image of the two buildings being related. The Asylum is the first of my MOCs to have a simple story tied to it. Anisse comes in to seek help from doctor Tim E. Discants, but his treatments are not exactly orthodox. The first floor features an admission counter and a White room, intended to hold the patients and keep them from injurying themselves. The second floor houses the Extraction room, enabling the good doctor to extract the "disease" from his patients. That leaves them ready for the Operating room. Suffice it to say, once the patients experience the treatments, they look for any way out. Check out my post further down or click on the link above for more pictures and the full story. Okay, so I've decided to take a shot at building a small village setup for the Lego Elves stuff I've got. The idea is to have a partitioned-off area of my city (maybe two if I add a Shadow World section) accessible only via the 'magic portal', which contains buildings and builds from the Elves theme. Should be fun, right? But I've got a small problem when it comes to the music shop included in 41193 The Song of the Wind Dragon (read 'Wind Wyvern'). It's different to the other buildings in that it's built to be a 'floating island' area, and this I should reflected in the fact that it's built on white plates to represent clouds and on top of terrain that's elevated and slanted to seem like floating islands with the lower part not visible. Which raises a question; how am I supposed to integrate this with the land-based buildings? So I'm opening the field to anyone who's encountered a similar problem and might have a solution. Anyone?

Ive built a vw beetle minifig scale, just ordered all the parts so will post pics when i get to build it for real, but am having difficulty with joining the roof parts, the scale is great but am needing thin plates to join them, are there such pieces? images from bluerender can be found at this link https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-13350/bamsham363/vw-beetle-revision/#comments its almost 100% complete however im about 1/2 a flat out on getting a minifig in with hair, bald hes fine, its now bugging me, as doesnt look so good if raised one thin higher...im sure ill get there but its at that stage where its bugging me, and wishing lego could invent a new piece, so all help comments would be appreciated.

My model is a city bus with New York City MTA livery. I have put more detail on this model comparing to the lego buses in current or past city sets. The reason to build this bus is to provide Lego fans specially to kids to have a Lego bus with the more realistic look. Bus is a popular vehicle type among children. I remember when I was a child, I always wanted to own a great looking lego bus. I believe I am not the only one who has same wish. I submit the project to LEGO Ideas. An addition to the cannon. I'll be buying the parts to build this soon. You can see it at my BrickLink Stud.io page (link in signature), and if you download or view in 3D you will see the internal details through the open back for play/display - Winter Village style. Scaled to fit my short-form EN-style carriages (24-stud plate; also available at my Stud.io page, with other content including more train stuff) which are hauled by a modified PF'd Constitution engine. Suggestions for improvements welcome.

Hi there, I'm barely active anymore but i finally finished my old WIP from the 4011 "Cabin Cruiser" remake from 1991. Its completely brick build without using hull elements. Fits about 6 Minifigs inside. For a scale comparisson i included a 1/43 scale model car i recently finished aswell. Hope you like it, comments and critics welcome, more pics will follow... My 5th entry for the Colossal Castle Contest, into the Village Life category. Credit for the pine tree design goes to Chris Maddison, who recently shared his design in a tutorial here. The build fits on a 48×48 baseplate, and three of the buildings have interiors (pull out rooms). Daydelon has plenty of excellent shops to meet your various needs. Brianna’s Bakery, Tryggr’s Supplies, and the Toy Shop are all located on the first stretch of the main street. Even in the winter the city keeps bustling, with the frozen river providing a great place for children to skate and the snow covered streets still see plenty of traffic from dog sleds and others. Happy new year to everyone, new year and new moc: the Dock Inn. This is my first "corner" MOC (maybe inverted...). The building id comprised of three floors. On the first floor there is the Dock Inn with a small courtyard and a little berceau. At the second floor you can find the rooms for the guests of the inn and at the third floor there is the apartment of the old Captain Nemo, the guy that owns and manages the inn. At the ground floor besides in the courtyard next to the dinner tables for the guests of the inn you can see a little well (maybe used in past days by smugglers). Next to the entrance to the inn there's a sacred niche and the door to the upper levels. On the upper floors the captain with his parrot, big blue windows, elegant flowerpots and a small pergola. What's the use for the suspended small green house? Actually it's not suspended, it's connected with a MOC to come: a build in front of the inn I'm working on. And this is also the cause for part of the dock to be made in red bricks... Dear Lego, We know you design sets in advance, and it's very likely we'll see another lineup of fire sets for city. In conversations with other Lego fire builders, we humbly submit 5 requests regarding that theme. Thank you, in advance, for your consideration. 1. It's time for a new air tank mold. The double-airtank Lego mold is now 40 years old and inaccurate. It's probably time for an update. Firefighters in the United States (and around the world) use airtanks that are a single tank, not a double tank. See this photo 2. It's time for a more modern stretcher (Stokes basket). The Lego stretcher piece is from WWI. We're now 100 years past that technology. We'd really appreciate a Stokes basket piece. 3. We're desperate for lift doors in sizes other than just 4-tall. A 2-studs-tall (4 wide) version would be awesome. Also, we need them in red. The ones on Bricklink are going for $25+ EACH! 4. We'd like a 6-wide windscreen piece that's not sloped. This part – but in a 6-wide version. 5. This one is optional, but would be awesome. How about yellow printing on a black helmet? This is the standard helmet for firefighters in much of the U.S. One way to address this would be to release a collectable American firefighter minifig.
