  1. I'm very happy, to present you today something, which I worked in the last 12 month on! The project is probably one of my craziest MOCs! At first I suggest you to watch this video, if you understand German. It was made on Zusammengebaut 2018. In the interview I tell the story of the creation. If you don't understand German, then please, read further below the video! The idea came into my mind at first in approx 2012. That was the first time, when I swam alone in deep water, in Lake Balaton. And during swimming I saw these ships, and I saw, what people usually are doing on the deck. They are sunbathing, while they hold a smartphone in one hand and something alcoholic in the other one! :D I thought, that it would be cool to copy the scene! The second thing, which influenced me, was our summer holiday in Venice, in 2017. That was the first time, when I swam in the see. And the present from the see was a jellyfish-bite... Well, under the water surface would be three jellyfishes a little bit too few, so I decided, that I make fishes, scuba divers, and a whole coral reef! You can see some crazy plants among the corals: broomplant, flipperplant, hairbrushplant, skeletonarmplant, etc. Some of you know, that in the last 1.5 years I had a store on Bricklink. So I saw usually all of the new elements, and colours. Sometimes I thought, that a part would be cool for corals, so I didn't sell it :) A lot of things, which I did or do in my life, helped to create this MOC! We can see sometimes on exhibitions things, which imitate flying. The solution is usually something trans-clear (Lego bricks, glasses), but I wanted nothing between water and corals. So the only one way was me to hang the whole construction from the ceiling by string, which is used by anglers, so almost invisible! Finally the experience: the visitors often push the tables. If the ship sits on glasses, the first push means a disaster. But with this method the ship is independent from the table, so I was completely calm during the two days. That's the story of my newest creation, hope you like it! :) Thanks for visiting!
  2. When I saw first pictures of set 42074 (racing yacht) I knew I have to take it and rebuild it into something else. So let me introduce you my latest alternative model - freight helicopter. It spins both rotors when you are turning gear on its bottom. Since set contains just 2 bevel gears I had to build another couple of them from bricks and connectors - I have already used this assembly for my dragster built out of set 42036. ...and little excursion into its innards:
  3. Hi there, I'm barely active anymore but i finally finished my old WIP from the 4011 "Cabin Cruiser" remake from 1991. Its completely brick build without using hull elements. Fits about 6 Minifigs inside. For a scale comparisson i included a 1/43 scale model car i recently finished aswell. Hope you like it, comments and critics welcome, more pics will follow... MOC: Yacht "Sirius"

[Edit, 23 August 2015] New pic of the yacht afloat: [/Edit] Hi all, a first vessel. It's supposed to be one of those fast commuter yachts of the Roaring Twenties. The yacht is 60 studs long, width is 12 studs. It's equipped with some PF and 9 Volt lighting (navigation lights and interior). The build is strongly inspired by Joshua's (JBIronWorks') amazing commuter yacht "Mohican", see https://www.flickr.c...06/15357970010/ Some more pics on my Flickr. Thanks for looking, c&c welcome as usual.
  5. "Mr. Gardener!" Montoya exclaimed, delighted to see his old shipmate. "Doctor! How pleasant to see you well!" the young man replied, his voice carrying over the crack of sails and rigging. "In fact, it is lieutenant now. And, should you wish to oblige me immmensely, you could call me captain, being in command of this here fine vessel!" "Captain Gardener it is, then - And what a prodigiously fine little ship she is!" "Indeed she is, although some may call her a yacht, rather than a ship, not being ship-rigged... But a wonderful sailer, nonetheless." Gardener said with a smile. "Bah, you sailors and your jargon!" he said, shaking his head. "How is the wind for Celestia?" "As sure as your hand during surgery, Doctor! Hop on board just this moment and we will be right off. Been lying to here for long enough now!" Montoya had long since had enough of the fighting on Isla de Medio, or Isla de Victoria, as the Eslandians seemed to call it, and as the field hospital was established and would function without his participation, he had written to Cooke to have transport arranged. And while it had taken some time, Cooke had arranged for the Pioneer, under the command of his former midshipman, now Lieutenant, Gardener, to pick up Montoya on its way to Celestia. As it happened, the Pioneer was despatched to bring supplies and mail to Major Allcocks expedition on Celestia, whereafter it be at Allcocks command to support the expedition in any way he may wish. Montoya was happy to leave. Eslandian and Marderian wounded alike all seemed confident on victory, and the battle would be bloody. He was tired of war, and rumours of both Marderian and Garveyan (on the side of Eslandola) reinforcements suggested an escalation of the conflict. Soon, it would be full blown war. The diplomatic grapevine was buzzing with tension. The Pioneer is a yacht, a swift and manoeuvrable fore-and-aft rigged vessel type recently developed in Altonia. Adept at sailing close to the wind, low draught, and easy to handle even by a small crew makes it perfectly suited for running communications both inshore and on the open seas. Several of the type has been commissioned by the Crown for the National Surveyor, the service in charge of charting the territorial waters of Corrington. Apart from small-arms, it is unarmed, not intended for warfare. On board, in the cabin, young Gardener asked Montoya a curious question. "Who was that fellow?" "Who?!" "Did you not notice the man behind the bushes? A native, it seemed..." Montoya was leaving from a small pier just outside the Fuerte Unido city wall. He wouldn't be sad to see the island disappear below the horizon, once more devoting himself to the natural sciences. ___________________________________________________________________________ A fun build, and one of my favourite landscape builds ever. Rigging the yacht did obscure most of the build, though, which is why you get a "ship-free" picture. The yacht is a class 2 F, under the current nomenclature, and may or may not be licensed. If the greenies want the property licensed, let me know. C&C is, as always, welcome.

    HM Bark Endeavor

This lovely recreation of the replica of Cook’s HM Bark Endeavor was created by Ashley Bognar & Mitchell Kruik, who are members of Ryan McNaught's build team, as part of a Lego layout of Sidney Harbor at the Museum of Sidney. It shows some pretty advanced techniques and attention to detail. Mr. McNaught also provided some great sailing yachts for the same display worth checking out. We’d love to have him weigh in on his creation and perhaps join our community so if anyone know Mr. McNaught please help us get in contact with him. Thanks.
  7. Hi all, Here comes a micro build of a crusing yacht. I wanted to do something with very few bricks, like a 8 - 15 piece challenge. To present it, i wanted some brick build water in a "wave" formation, to give it some realism. Instruction pic included. enjoy :D Feel free to ask, comment etc... micro yacht by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr micro yacht instructions by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr

    [MOC] Lego Sailboat

Hey there, first post to the Town forum. Thought I would share a Lego sailboat model I made in approximate minifig scale. It is based on a Benetau Cyclades 43.4 The inspiration for this was watching the sailing journey of La Vagabonde https://www.youtube....LjIzFnWsDQOv4ww The sails can be rolled out and are made out of a plastic bag. The sewing string rigging is the only other non-lego part. Here is a digital rendering Full instructions and parts list can be found on rebrickable http://rebrickable.c...t/lego-sailboat

    Consolidated Commuter Yacht Mohican

Hello fellow EBers, I present, The Commuter Yacht Mohican Motor Yacht Mohican by Joshua, on Flickr Bow view; Motor Yacht Mohican, bow view by Joshua, on Flickr Overhead view; Motor Yacht Mohican, overhead view by Joshua, on Flickr Stern view; Motor Yacht Mohican, stern view by Joshua, on Flickr Consolidated Commuter Yacht Mohican ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the 1910s, 1920s, and 1930s, many of the New York area's wealthiest businessmen commuted by motoryacht from summer homes in Westchester County, western Connecticut, and the north shore of Long Island to Manhattan's financial center. Over the years, the design, aesthetics, and performance of commuter yachts became more refined, and a number of yacht-building firms distinguished themselves as specialists at producing commuters. To meet their clients' exacting demands, these yards designed exceptionally fast yachts that were also elegant and beautiful--and of these specialist yards, none had a finer pedigree or was more closely identified with commuters than the Consolidated yard of City Island, New York. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- at 66 studs long and 13 studs wide, this was quite the interesting build for me. The Mohican does have a full interior, but I have yet to take photos of it, so I'll have to edit this topic later when I do. The real Mohican, perfectly restored, is currently for sale in Italy, but it's sadly far above my current price range, so I'll just have to settle for this model. This is also the model that inspired EROL to build his equally beautiful yacht Sirius >https://www.flickr.c.../in/dateposted/. Hope you all like it! Cheers, Joshua
  11. Good day everybody and let's continue with the boat mania!!! Today I would like to post my experimental NXT project- The Supra Yacht. It uses two Nxt motors for propulsion , but I disn't tested the propulsion system yet. It is built on top of two 1l plastic water bottles , and all electronics are on top.Because every NXT component is on the rear of the boat I built a long mast on the front for maintain the balance. The mast is connected to one Nxt motor. Here's the video:
