    [MOC] Small Shrimping Boat

Hi folks! This is my latest MOC, I was inspired by Motorized Lighthouse set and my daughter who asked for a boat to go with the Lighthouse :) I tried to make it as playable as possible but at the same time I wanted it to have a display value, so I've added the unfold mechanism like real shrimpers have and a display stand that suppose to look like those trendy epoxy tables. There are 2 minifigures (Anna and her grandpa) and their playful doggie! I also made a short stop motion animation to tell a little story about the build. Hope you like it! If you like it, please consider voting on Lego Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/cc05dd35-02c8-417e-87cd-0cce7b555c68 https://youtu.be/eD15fzqnt1I
  2. Theo's Trabuchet fishing hut The Trabucco (Trabuchet) is a typical and ancient fishing machine from the east coast of Italy. It's made of wood and consists of a platform into the sea connected to the coast by a tight bridge made of wooden boards. From this platform, two (or more) long arms called antennae stretch out suspended some feet above the water, supporting a huge and narrow-meshed net (called trabocchetto). My little Trabucco is the home of Theo, an old red-bearded fisherman who loves spending his days fishing and preparing the nets. Every now and then some friends visit him by boat, since the medium-azure hut can be reached by an unstable ladder starting right from the sea. Today Pablo is docking at the pole near the Trabucco, he has come to visit his friend Theo. Enjoy!

    [MOC] Soldiers Outpost

My latest project. Soldiers Outpost I was a big fan of the first pirate sets as a child, so I had to throw myself in a pirate-inspired MOC. Two soldiers are standing guard, the third tries to catch something eatable, while the general is guarding the treasure. They have caught a pirate who has been sitting in jail for quite some time now. It is important that the soldiers make sure that the pirates don’t free their mate... hmm maybe it's too late. Of cause the general is holding on to the biggest treasure chest any man have ever seen, so if the pirate is escaping there is always a reason to come back and conquer the island. 1-DSC03262 by Thomas Mouridsen, on Flickr 2-DSC03270 by Thomas Mouridsen, on Flickr 4-DSC03244 by Thomas Mouridsen, on Flickr 16-DSC03236 by Thomas Mouridsen, on Flickr More pictures: https://www.flickr.com/photos/137767198@N08/sets/72157693362640134/with/38808853560/ https://ideas.lego.com/projects/51efedd5-a914-4d42-b8a0-edfbd0065b26
  5. Hello Eslandolans, before even introducing my main character, I wanted to give a present to all the other factions. For you I have this little boat I built today. Even though I couldn't implement all the techniques and style decisions I had envisioned, because I ran out of the necessary bricks, I'm glad, I worked it out, without having to order new ones. The hull could have been a bit smoother, but I wasn't in the mood to destroy my first ship's long boat. Gladfully the lego football stadium came with a lot of green tiles. So after all these years, it finally was worth it:) The red touch was also a lucky accident, but it fits the coulour scheme well I think. And finally a ship I managed to use the official Lego ropes on. I intended this vessel to be a local fisherman's ship. Honestly, I'm new to these kind of games and therefore don't know, how to do it in the right manner, so you can benefit the best way possible. You as the faction can determine the usage and the best location for this vessel. If there are any problems rule-wise, consider it as a freebuild, that adds more feeling to the world. As for the storytelling part, I'm planning to include it in future posts, tight now, it's just a little raw. Greetings, Wellesley!

    Old Fishing Store

Old Fishing Store – Modular creator Building The Story My story for this modular building was that the Old Fishing Store is based upon a Sea Front village Theme. I liked the old Fishing villages so I built this one on Lego Digital Designer (LDD). I really believe that this model could have a lot of genuine interest to fans of Modular an creator sets. This is the first of a series of modular creator buildings that I will be making. Summary The building consists of roughly 2160 parts and three floors: the main store, office, and lookout. I used the colors brown and sand green that gives it a realistic feeling. Four Mini-figures could be added such as a two fisherman, the store keeper, one captain. And a lot of details. It includes: Mini fish, crab, flicking hook, starfish, snow owl, sea gulls Barrels, I subited this MOC also by Lego Ideas. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/124448
  7. île D'Or, August 618, somewhere outside Fatu Hiva "Why are we here, monsieur Rimbaud?" Asked Marcel Laurent, one of the members of the little group. "I mean... not on the island but here, in this fishery." Marcel, a physician arrived in Astrapi only a couple of years before, was one of the members of the little group. He had spent most of his career in the navy, travelling around the world... nobody was really surprised when he asked joining the expedition. "We have at least two good reasons, mon ami." Answered Tristan Rimaud, leader of the team. "First, I was said Juracàn's tribe was one of the last that arrived in Fatu Hiva, so we can obtain some fresh news. Second, and even more important... don't you like smoked fish?". Meanwhile, in precarious balance on a wooden pole, a native was fishing with his spear and an Halosian was -well...- trying something similar. Soldiers watched them with interest. "Welcome to my fishing point, my lords. The humble Jurancàn wishes he could satisfy you. Are you interested in buying some smoked fish, or maybe you need a barrel of salted cod? We have just found a giant whelk, trust me, a delicacy as you never tasted. We also have crabs and, under the palm, a bucket of wonderful lobsters, I've just caught them myself, I can show them you if you are interested." Finally the flood of words stopped, with great relief of the others. "Thank you, cacique, you are too polite with these men" Replied Tristan, using one of the habitual formulas so appreciated by the natives. "My warriors and I are beginning a journey, so we'll buy both smoked and salted fish, and for this reason we also ask you the courtesy of some pieces of information." "Juracàn would be pleased to be useful, my lords. Are you leaving the island? Juracàn knows all the reefs and sandbanks of the western coast." "I'm sorry you misunderstood, great cacique. We are not leaving the island. I'm going straight into the jungle to hunt whoever is attacking natives and colonists." Here they are. Juracàn seemed a brave man, but most natives were litterally frightened, and was impossible to obtain anything more than a superstitious stutter. "The jungle, my lords? No, no, avoid the jungle! Bad ghosts live there! Live there and kill! They have always hated the men coming from sea, both my people and yours, but now their thirst of human blood increased! Nobody is safe far from the town!" Not very encouraging, but still better then a useless sobbing. "I do not fear bad ghosts, cachique. I will hunt them with my brave warriors, and free both my people and yours from their menace!" Brave warriors... strange definition for his volounteers, an half of which was in jail only a week before: tough and resolute men, but not the ones you imagine on a white horse! "Don't go, my lord, don't go please! Once the forest ghost were not so evil... sometimes they took seamen's life with snake bites or accidents, but not many more than our benign sea gods. But five summers ago something happened: shadows left the jungle and slaughtered brave warriors during the night, and many saw monsters and apparitions. Things went worse and worse, and we decided to leave our fathers' land. Don't go into the jungle, sir, or they will curse you! Somethimes the ones who saw bad ghosts became ill: they had seizures and shivers, and red stains appeared on their skins! Some of them died, and the hands of others became black and contracted..." "Le pain maudit!" -the cursed bread- exclaimed Marcel Laurent. "What are you talking about, my friend?" "All the symptoms are loudly saying ergotism! I've seen this disease when I was a young country doctor in Northern Oleon. Somethimes rye develops strange brown horns, and who eats rye bread becomes ill and sometimes sees or ears strange things. It would also explain the sudden maddness of our soldier... some ergot in the water and a masked attacker would completely frighten anybody!" "But, since the natives do not cultivate... Juracàn, great cacique, there aren't bad ghosts in the forest, but evil men who killed and poisoned your people! Somebody Who is trying to put fear in our hearts! I swear that I'll find them and I will kill them to avenge your warriors and our soldiers." "Monsieurs, cacique, sorry to interrupt you." Whispered a soldier. "We are not alone." 9. With almost half a dozen settlements in under a days worth of travel, trade was always busy around Isla de Victoria. While large vessels aren't uncommon, most of the trade consists of small merchants, defended by few armed rowing boats. Fishing boats aren't uncommon either. Some fearless merchants sometimes risk everything - they go back and forth between Fuerte Unido and Trador, a long distance for a vessel that's as tiny as this one! These guys have decided to call their tiny vessel Sally. Others decided to stay closer to shore - they are often spotted fishing in the open waters close to Puerte Desafio. Not even large enough to bear a name, dozens of these can be seen on good days. While Tortuga has been silent recently, it never hurts being sure that is really the case - a couple fast rowing boats stay close to Puerte Desafio, and be it to warn those tiny fishing vessels. This example is known as Paddly - because thats all these guys do all day.

    Boat Repair Shop

My story For this modular (creator) building was that the Boat Repair Shop is based for a creation to fit in the Sea front Village. I built this one on Lego Digital Designer (LDD). I really believe that this model could have a lot of genuine interest for fans of my Sea front Village sets. This is the second of a series of modular (creator} buildings that I will be submitting. Summary If you're looking for trusted boat repair in Sea Front Village you've found the right place. With a full team of highly-trained technicians, Our Service Department has become one of the most trusted boat repair shops in Sea Front Village. From plastic boat repair to marine engine repair. our state-of-the-art equipment will get you back on the water as quickly as possible. The following is a list of the boat repair shop items: Minifig: Technicians (Carpenters), Captain, Fishing man. Boat: 2 type models, Tools: Drill, Screwdriver, Saw and more. The building consists of roughly 2460 parts and a boat ramp with a crane, work floor, and storage- attic. I used the colors sand yellow and olive green for the building that gives it a realistic feeling. And Siding technique for the clapboards. The roof just sits on the recess so it’s easy to take of and put on. If you like this design or the idea of the Boat Repair Shop – Modular (Creator) Building http://ideas.lego.com/projects/129623 please support and follow, thanks for reading and Brick On everyone !
  11. Hi there. I'm kind of new here, so if my post here is wrong somehow, let me know. I'd like to share a MOC with you, an alt build of 21310 Old Fishing Store. I love the Old Fishing Store, but I also love the Creator 3-in-1 sets because I like taking them apart and building something new later (I don't tend to leave sets up on display for more than a couple of weeks - I just don't have the space). So I made a smaller little lodge or store (there's a bedroom in the loft). The roof is partially flat and partially angles down, and you can lift the roof on the hinges to see into the 2nd floor. There's a tower with the telescope (and a storage area in the tower) and a swing hanging below it. I've got a pond (or at least part of one) with fish, with the boy trying to catch one, and the cat and bird also hoping for some fish. The captain is at a campfire with a lady friend toasting marshmallows. (boy it was hard making a fire with so few red, orange and yellow pieces... I did cheat and use one flame piece from another set). If you want to see more photos, or download the LXF file, you can do so here: https://bricksafe.com/pages/CathyVT/cathysfishinglodge . The step by step instructions that LDD creates when you click "building guide mode" are terrible (doing things in an impossible order, like framing the windows all around, then putting in the window) but I'm working on a solution to that... Hope you like it!
  12. (NOTE to the mods: This model could go in the adventure forum, but since it's origin is a CITY-like set, I placed it here in the town forum. I hope that's okay!) Heading out for parts unknown, searching for lost treasure, discovering ancient civilizations, fighting the mysterious forces of evil and finding helpful allies, all in far-way lands not on any map! Check your compass, secure your gear and plot your course: It's all in a days work for the ADVENTURERS! (and yes, that was supposed to sound like a early TV / radio drama intro. ) I took the "Old Fishing Store" Ideas set number 21310 and turned back the clock on it from a rundown fishing shop in the modern era to a modular 1920's supply depot for Johnny Thunder and his friends, also known as the Adventurers. I added a set 7596-style freight Crane that's a part of "Trash Compacter Escape" (a Toy Story 3 set from 2010). I revised the color scheme of the mainly yellow building instead of the original sand green, and removed a ton of the mixed bunch of colors that were used a "patch jobs" on the dock and building proper. I removed the roof and redid it completely to be brick-built with slopes instead of plates and tiles at an certain angle. I also stripped the many windows styles off and replaced them with a single type. I added a warehouse section to the lower floor by sending one of the walls about 16 studs back, allowing for storage space for various equipment not yet designed. The back wall of the building shows off the new wall art placed on the roof section of the building: a giant propeller from a ship of some kind. I also am going to use the "Great" and "West" printed parts for the sign out on the front of the building where the "Anton's bait shop" 4 x 2 tile originally was. The back wall still opens in two sections, but the inside is a rough estimate. Some parts I already have from my previous depot model from almost 1 1/2 years ago, such as the safe, radio and various maps. Also, the two freight loading doors actually open and shut quite nicely. The model comes apart into four sections, with the main roof, tower, tower roof, and main building + dock all separating from each other. The crane was totally copied from my previous depot model, which itself was duplicated and color-changed from the dark green / white one in the Toys Story 3 set I mentioned earlier. That's all I've got so far with the building (which is coming soon in real bricks)... any thoughts or ideas for this model? As usual, Comments, Questions, & Complaints are always welcome. Stay tuned for real life pictures that might be coming in October. If you want the LDD file, it is here.

  14. Location: Ferro Azure Small fishing rafts such as this one are a common site around the waters near Sailda Este, where the seafood trade has been booming since the Settlement's establishment. This particular fisherman is known as Thunder-Rod, which is either a combination of his real name and a reference to his booming voice, or a joke about the time he was struck by lightning through a fishing rod. He often comes into Town to sell his fish, but he usually docks his raft in a cove instead of fighting against bigger ships. When he does come to town, he often narrates the plays of the town school, much to the delight of the children. First BoBS build in a while, may or may not license this one as a Class 0. C&C Welcome!
  15. Salida Este, Ferro Azure Sometimes it's good to sit down, string a fishing line and find a nice quiet pier. It takes your mind off the stress of trades, routes, and doubloons. A freebuild for Sailda Este. No license for this one. C&C welcome!
  16. Hi all, With a house move it's been a while since I made anything but finally squeezed in a small Moc. I wanted to try some sort of contrasting landscape so a present: "Fishing" on the Nocturnus Boarder. Husbandry Challenge - Food's scarce but some have found luck finding enough to support themselves by venturing to the boarders. Usually quite risky as the war means that the boarders are a common place for clashes or full out battle and so most people avoid these areas. The offshoot is food is more readily available for those few brave enough or foolish enough to venture out in search of food. You're just as likely to get a sword in the gut as a good meal! I'd like to claim UoP Doctorate credits for: Landscape Design - flowers and dense foliage Agriculture - 'Fishing' Geography - River scene Hydrology - flowing water C&C welcome.

    Fishing...

Fishing... Along with hunting and agriculture, fishing is also important in the people's lives here in the mountains. In the tumultuous rivers flowing down the mountains, there is an abundance of fish and, when creating these artificial barriers to harness the power of the river, you will also create lakes perfect for fishing. Even Alexander Vandangant, although it isn't one of his favorite things to do, sometimes goes fishing, so that in the evening meal there is fish on the table. However, when the fresh breeze is blowing, the sun is warm and all is quiet, Alexander tends to "wander off"... = = = = = = = = = Hello all, finally I'm back building for the Guilds of Historica! Quite a time passed but I'm appy to be here again! This is my first entry for the Historica Husbandry; while following the main scope of the challenge, "show your character procuring, processing, or delivering, food somehow", I tried to add a bit of humor to the situation! Thanks soccerkid6 for putting it up and inspiring me on the spot! Enjoy!

[MOC] The Young Man and the Sea

Here's what you look like when you try to be like Santiago, but are not really up to it ;) That was my first real test with those 1x1 round tiles from PaB walls. Good for placing behind some solid glass, not so much for anything else (don't try to sneeze nearby...). I hope you'll enjoy it :) Full gallery is here: http://bricksafe.com/pages/Mestari/the-young-man-and-the-sea

Feedback is welcome... https://dl.dropboxus...7383/HG 184.lxf I've made the file from Lego Digital Designer available here, so you can open it and view it for yourselves... Feel free to explore the engineroom, bridge and living quarters :D

    fishing rod help?

I have a brand new ugly stik fishing rod, and was going to take it out today. But I cant seem to line it right. What I'm doing is I flip the bail, take the line, (which came pre-spooled) and put it through the holes on the rod, (Not sure what the proper name is) and flip the bail back. but my problem is, when I crank the real, its feeding line rather than retracting it. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

    MOC: Small Trawler (Cuusoo project)

So, here comes another Cuusoo project of mine, this time a professional fishing boat at a reasonable scale, 600 pieces. I added this to Cuusoo since there has never been any real fishing boat in Lego, like ever! There are several play features, and the trawl is supposed to be possible to trawl with like with a real fishing boat. Please check out this Cuusoo project! At the link you will be able to see more pictures of all the features and interior, and perhaps even vote for it... Also feel free to add a comment, either here or there or both...
  23. Two Norsemen introduce a couple Mitgardians to the clans' traditional summer Ice Haddock fishing activities off the Isles of Solitude. Ice Haddock serves as a protein staple in most Mitgardians' diets--fresh in the summer and salted or cold smoked in the winter--and as a major trade item with Avalonian and Kaliphlinite merchants. The Norsemen did not, however share that Ice Haddock makes excellent bait for luring in Western Sea Serpents... I've had this idea since CCCX and the MOC has been in work in some stage or another since probably April, but I finally was able to knock it out over the past few weeks. This is my first try a multi-level build, brick-built boat and a big honkin' monster. Let me know what you guys think, C&C appreciated!
