    Designing the Arnam Mk VII

It all started with this small tank based off of the m3 Lee, I wasnt very happy with it but I loved the engine, so I kept it around I later redid the turret to be more round This was the first design that was called the Arnam, named after a famous admiral in the Legion Republic (this is a whole universe my friend and I came up with) despite this being a Senate tank It had 2 main guns, but was very tall (I was still obsessed with the engine) and track protection, I don't have chain link pieces on hand, so the tracks are bare I then retooled it into the Arnam Mk II, which had a decent slope to the from armor, but was built in the same frame as the original tank I had built roughly a year prior This version incorporated a new version of track protection that would be used to this day Finally, after a solid year of redesigns I came to a difficult realization. I needed to reduce the detail of the engine compartment in order to have the tank work both structurally and aesthetically. I removed the old droid bodies and halved the overall height of the model. This is the Arnam Mk V The driver gets in through this hatch in the bottom the engine bay has been reduced to a lever and a telephone piece to allow the height reduction. This is the first tank I will give you the tech specs of. It has 1 AG (weapons manufacturer) TC (weapon type) 413 110mm cannon 3.5 inches of armor on the sides and rear 4.5 inches of armor on the front and turret Crew of 3, commander, gunner, driver (no loader as the gun is auto-loading) Multiple add one for various missions The commander's cupola can be replaced with a 30mm auto cannon and 2 .50 caliber machine guns The missile interference system (MIS) which messes with incoming guided projectiles and makes them not hit their target And the cluster of guided missiles that can be fired at enemy aircraft However there was room for improvement. I felt that the turret was too much like a WWII panther tank and not like a modern tank. So last week I ripped apart the old turret and built the Arnam Mk VII It has 1 AG TC 424 150mm cannon 4.5 inches of armor on the sides and rear 5.5 inches of armor on the front and turret Crew of 3, commander, gunner, driver (no loader as the gun is auto-loading) Various add one similar to the Mk V, with the exception of the MIS, as this is now built into the turret Optional 20mm auto cannon in the hull (adds a 4th crew member) Secondary turret in place of commander's cupola And 2 different sensor packages There are no missiles, as the role of a missile firingntank was delegated to the Honey Badger super-heavy I also added this hinged piece to cover up the gun when elevating The driver's viewport is underneath the 1x2 dark red tile I will likely update with either a stud.io file or chain link pieces, whichever comes first Stud.io model is here. https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=246061
  3. I Backdated the war-bot a bit, using design / color cues from Blacktron 1. I also used parts and ideas from the Iron Monger set 76190 (the main body) & Hydra Stomper set 76201 (Laser power / jet pack thing on the back of the robot) mech models from Marvel, along with claw from the old Agents 2.0' Robot Attack. (set 8970) The legs and laser arm are holdovers from the "Build Better Bricks" Iron Giant instructions. I tried to make it as different as possible to the original blue robot while still using the same basic skeleton. This "war-bot" is supposed to be an opposite (yet equal in strength) foe for my Classic Space fleet, and an enemy to "fight" at any future displays and on my space layout. He is slightly shorter in stature than my Classic Space robot, but his laser arm and crusher-claw hand make up for it! Laser power / jet pack thing is on the back of the robot. All the parts left to find / order on this MOC. This MOC will be built as soon as funds allow, and has replaced the BT3 robot on the enemy... er, to-build list. Looks much better than before anyway! NOTE: The chest should have the “upside down tri-force” logo printed on it when built in real life. Any thoughts? Comments, questions, and complaints welcome!

  8. Location: King's Harbour Type: Non-property Freebuild A few months ago.... Yellowing fliers and newspapers flapped in the wind near the Cocovia Railway. Once this had been a stately manor, but the crown had ordered it demolished, as it sat directly in the path of the rails. The Crown, however, refused to let a good cellar go to waste. And thus, KH safehouse #3 sat directly under the railway. Here, the Count had been directed to go by a rather mysterious letter.... "The Crown couldn't risk our adversaries seeing us meet at the Ministry headquarters." said the Ministry of State Operative. "But we need you. The empire needs a hammer. You, unfortunately, are a hammer." "I'm going to take that statement to mean that I can't be prosecuted for any crimes committed in this venture, including but not limited too..." replied the Count. The Cellar by North White, on Flickr The operative quickly interjected. "No! Just capture the settlement! The instructions are clearly laid out in this envelope." He grabbed a small, sealed envelope from the table. "Oleon cannot be allowed to hold Terraversa. You're going to make them rethink their priorities. The crown is readying a declaration of war." The Cellar by North White, on Flickr "Ah yes, I can't wait to see what needlessly verbose statement Comrade Montana prepares." Replied the Count. "As if anyone ever needed a reason to go to war. My proposal was we just tie a note saying 'Terraversa? Not You're's! War!!!!! >:(' to a brick and toss it through the king of Oleon's window." "That would be a complete breach of decorum and etiquette!" replied the Operative. "That reminds me, I think I'm like 23rd in line to the crown." said the Count. "All I really need is for a bunch of Nobles to lose their lives, and/or their heirs to either conflict, strife, or disease, and then I could probably take a larger role in government. Unfortunately for myself, it's not like there's a major source of this at the moment. What were we talking about again?" Asked the Count. The operative's face drained a bit of colour. "Just... take the envelope" He passed the Count the Envelope. "I think I would rework the diplomacy system to be more centered around 'brick-throwing'." Said the Count. He turned, and began to exit. FIN Thanks for viewing my build! I won't be licensing this (although I figure I could!). It could be a commerce, or governmental, but that feels flimsy in my head, so I feel like I will leave this as a non licensed free build. No harm intended to @bregir per his declaration of war, writing or anything, but I thought I'd give a small poke in his direction. As for line of succession to the Corrish throne, take anything the Count says with a grain of Salt. Or maybe a pillar! C&C appreciated!

  10. The War Department "Austerity" 2-10-0 is a type of steam heavy freight locomotive that was introduced in WWII in 1943. It was designed by R.A. Riddles, the same man who latter went on to design the British Railways 9F 2-10-0 type. I've backdated my 1950's 9F type into this 1940's Austerity class by removing the side smoke deflectors and changing around some small features here and there. As most of this engine still existed as-built from my previous 9F build from 2014 (that itself was inspired by @ScotNick's model of Thomas and Friends' 9F-type engine Murdoch) or so, I just needed to get wheels, a tender draw-bar connector, pistons / side-rods, and the little bit of parts to convert it to a Austerity type. The tender has "BR" printed on it in 1 x 1 tiles, standing for British Railways, as this engine was placed into service with the newly nationalized rail network after service with the War Department during WWII (around early 1948). However, it still is carrying it's War-time grayscale color scheme at this point in the early 1950's, lending to it's nickname the "Gray Ghost". The cab of the engine, with firebox in the middle. In the real world, the Austerity 2-10-0 class engine was designed and built during the Second World War as an British export locomotive, with some going as far away as Greece, the Netherlands, or Syria, while a few stayed in the UK to be worked by the War Department, and later, British Railways. All but three of the ones from the UK (of which one was owned by the Longmoor Military Railway) survived mass scrapping in 1962 and were preserved, while a fourth was brought back from the Netherlands and also survives. (There are also a few derelict versions in Greece, while a museum in the Netherlands has an engine as well, albeit in much better condition than the Greek locos.) All credit for the BR plank wagon model seen in the picture above goes to @Pdaitabird, who designed them. See here for an awesome step-by-step tutorial by the original builder of the BR plank wagon. Original design by Flickr user Fireglo450 in 2013, revised by me in 2020. See here for the original inspirational model. Here we see the whole gravel train at an "on-it's-side" view for maximum viewing. This train is destined for the Gravel loading facility where it will be loaded with crushed stone for either rail ballast or concrete works projects elsewhere in the country. As usual, comments, questions, and complaints are always welcome!
  11. Just played around with some ideas for a new hexagonal part you could use for tabletop-games like "Settlers of Catan" etc. By the way: Please support my "Life-Sized Human Skull" project on LEGO Ideas (if you haven't done jet)! :-) https://ideas.lego.com/projects/142026 Thanks! --- UPDATE 01 --- Some more experiments with my hexagonal building bricks... @DraikNova: As you see above you can easily extend the distance between the "bases" by inserting plates or bricks inbetween them (so you could easily place a 4x4 round plate or brick on top of them). By using bricks with side-studs (as the green one in the bottom-left corner) you could also add extra playfields you could step or build on. The spacing betwen the hexagonal bricks would also allow to make "impassable gaps" (as you can see at the blue brick on the right side). --- UPDATE 02 --- Slightly updated my design by "drilling" holes in the side-studs and changing the connection on top of the brick (1 stud instead of 4, so the 2x2 round plates can rotate freely). As Eurobricks-user Philo mentioned there might be a little problem in connectiong the pieces directly, but if you build "bridges" between them, the connection should work just fine - and you can also place different bricks on the inside of the triangular spaces (in this example a 2x2 round brick with plate on top).
  12. Hi guys At first, we want to introduce ourselves: We are three excited Lego builders: Budo, Paliason and Bedo. Each of us has built many of our own MOCs in the past. Before the recent, we decided to do something together. The main condition was to do something untraditional, original and with many details. This is the Lego project, which we will introduce to you now. It is the scene from the PC game Command & Conquer: GENERALS and its expansion ZERO HOUR. Three factions fight against each other: USA, CHINA and GLA. USA: CHINA: GLA: Our common goal is to make a large map of approx. 6.25 square meters and on it the combat scenes of vehicles and the infantry of all three opponents. The map will also include several civilian objects (farm, houses), industrial buildings (Oil derricks) but also large USA base. The model will be dedicated to exhibitions and commemorations of the great PC game C&C: GENERALS, at this year's 15th anniversary of this masterpiece. 13. "They shall not pass!" Outskirts of Nola Mar, Terraversa, August 620 After the long calm, after the time of plots and conspiracies, the day had finally arrived. In Nola Mar, weapons were taken from the secret hideouts and passed from hand to hand: in just a few hours, the militias gathered in the agreed locations and marched towards the main strategic points all around the settlement. All the main roads from Sillitholina to Pamu were blocked by barricades and improvised defenses, all the forced passages were occupied by small military units. Everybody knew that there was no coming back: if the plan had succeeded, the whole island would soon have been in their hands. Otherwise, they would have fought to the death... there was no mercy to expect from Oldis' servants or L'Olius' henchmen! The role of Nola Mar rebels during the first days of the war was quite simple, but all the same essential: they had to block any possible movement of enemy troops along the Coastal Road, the shortest connection between King's Port and Westface, or at least slow them down as much as possible. In practical terms, this meant blocking the reinforcements from Westface to King's Port and, if the landings would have been successful, cutting the retreat route from Pamu to Sillitholina and preventing the reorganization of Oldis' troops. Small contingents of Oleander soldiers, mainly light infantry, had joined the local irregulars in the most vulnerable zones: cracking the line of the chasseurs and of the Mousquetaires du Roi wouldn't have been an easy task! Far south, in the last stronghold before the territories controlled by L'Olius, tension rose minute after minute. While the older veterans chewed some tobacco or absently rubbed whetstones on the blade of their knives, the recruits walked nervously back and forth, continuously staring at the horizon. Here, the presence of the Oleander soldiers was a little stronger, with a few small cannons quickly dragged there with horses and oxen. More soldiers and cannons would soon have come from Nola Mar, provided that they could leave the city undefended. However, nobody really knew if they would have seen arrive the blue coats of Oleander soldiers or the dark blue uniforms of L'Olius' minions. In that case, they would have sold dearly their skin. "Horsemen! Horsemen from Sillitholina!" Everyone grabbed his musket and rushed to the parapet. The gunners lit the fuses and loaded the cannons. Nobody uttered a word. "Damn, they are still too far! I cannot see the uniforms. Hold fire until my orders!" The soldiers stood still, looking at the tiny cloud of dust growing bigger and bigger... Just a small prequel of the battle for Terraversa, while the fog of war still covers the island... Overall view-1: Overall view-2:
  14. July-August 620. Vol 5, Special Edition OLEON INVADES TERRAVERSA! Kings Port is shrouded in the smoky haze of battle as a fleet of Oleon’s 25 largest ships sailed into the harbor and opened fire on the port’s fortifications. Five ships that were already here with the RNTC are helping shelter dozens of long boats ferry hundreds of bluecoated soldiers to shore. Flashes of cannon fire from the Oleon ships and the fortresses that protect our city continually illuminate the haze as our local regiments make preparations to repel the invaders. Meanwhile, reports from smaller settlements around the island tell us that at least five other Oleon fleets are openly assaulting Terraversan towns. Nine ships last spotted in Astrapi are bombarding Sillithonia and have sent a battalion ashore. From Tarlor we hear that 24 ships last reported in Breshaun are bombarding the local defenses and landing nearly four companies of bluecoats. Fom Pilnton we have received word that 18 ships out of Granoleon are bombarding the shore batteries. Small squadrons have also opened fire on the towns of Tanari and Nola Mar. In total, we believe nearly 90 ships and possibly a full division of bluecoats – more than 800 men! – are involved in the assault. If you are here on Terraversa, we at the KPA urge all able-bodied citizens to take up musket and blade, whether sword or farm implement, and fight the dastardly bluecoats. Make the beaches, the streets, and the fields run red with their blood! If you are unable to fight, make your way to safer regions of the interior, or to the defenses of Westface. If you are reading this somewhere off the island, then ships from our national trade fleet were able to escape Kings Port harbor and sail past the invading Oleon fleet. Know that the Bluecoats are villainous deceivers. Send help if you can, and protect yourself against similar perfidy! The outcome of these assaults is as yet unknown. We will endeavor to continue publishing as long as we have a printing press, but receiving reports from our far-flung correspondents may be more difficult in the coming weeks. Rest assured that one way or another, we will find a way to get the news to you.

  16. 2020, Today, Plantasea There are scattered rumors that a terrorist cell led my infamous Hug Drax is prepearing a big hit in Plantasean territory. But noone knows information about Drax and his organization, even how he looks. Same time and after ten years, following a lead, Plantasean agency "Green Door" found that Lt.Sunday Priestime is alive and held in an isolated prison. It is a penal prison in a subtropical island somewhere between Swintoc and New Selusia. Lt.Sunday Priestime is the only one who knows Hugo Drax and "Shining Trail", his terrorist group In no time, Hell Legion prepeared the rescue operation. For another one time in all of these years, Sunday Priestime is in isolation. Saunders unlocks the trapdoor and help his friend to get out
  17. Hi, I'm new on Eurobricks, but not to the world of LEGO. I'm building for 1,5 years now and this WW2 build I made back in 2017 for a contest on Flickr. If you like what you see give me a follow on Flickr, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and/or Pinterest. Background I build an accurate scene from the movie 'Saving Private Ryan'. I did some extended research to make this scene as accurate as possible. The hardest thing to figure out was the placement of each soldier. Second of all that the halftrack came in from behind and that Captain Miller and his men had to turn around 180 degrees so that the wouldn't be attacked from behind. Eventually Captain Miller and his men where surprised by the explosion from the other side of the halftrack. By the second hit Captain Miller and his men came into action and ambushed the small recon unit of the 2nd SS Panzer Division by surprise. Those German Soldiers didn't know what hit them! After the battle they found out that a small 101st Airborne squad from the 506h PIR was following them up close and took out that 2nd SS Panzer Division halftrack. The rest of the story is known and otherwise watch this great WW2 movie :) Hope you'll like what you see! 23. Hi guys, this is my new creation! It's my entry to the Colossal Battle Contest V 2017 for the category . CBC V - Dread Ambushers Category I choose to create a great battle from the ancient Hellenic Wars, known as Peloponnesian War. A small force of Spartan army was cutted from their main army of Sparta by Athenian army and their navy on the island of Sphacteria. The Athenian forces manage to land on the island after a surprise attack and forced the Spartans to surrender! It's one of the few times that a Spartan army was surrendered and did not fight until death. I hope you like it! You can see more pictures in my Flickr page! C&C are appreciated
