  8. Hello everyone, As promised in the official Jurassic World thread, I'm sharing the LDD models I made of some of the JW vehicles. Like many of you, I was a little disappointed by the vehicle builds in this theme and wanted to make my own more movie-accurate versions of some of them. Most are heavily inspired by offical LEGO builds (mostly from the City line). Note that the stickers are obviously missing from the vehicles so I'm afraid you'll have to use your imagination for that part. The first vehicle is loosely inspired by the Textron Tiger armoured truck which appears towards the end of the movie. It is based on the offrad pickup truck from the 1st Avengers movie (set 6867). I turned it into a two-seater and added the rear section. JW Textron Tiger 1 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr JW Textron Tiger 3 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr Up next is the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van used by the ACU to track the I-rex. This one is based on an ambulance from the City theme (set 4431). JW Sprinter 1 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr There's enough room for about 4-5 figures in the back but it's a tight fit... JW Sprinter 4 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr The next vehicle is the ACU 6x6 G36 from the same scene. This one is an original design but I'm still not 100% please with how it turned out. Hopefully you'll still like it and maybe some more talented builders will improve it. JW 6x6 1 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr JW 6x6 3 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr Here's how it looks next to the Sprinter van. JW by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr Next is the G-class SUV, which is pretty much JW's version of the Jeep Wrangler. I made two versions of this one, the first of which is pretty much a recoloured police SUV from set 4440. JW Mercedes 1 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr I then made a second version of the car, which is a two-seater with working doors. JW Mercedes 2 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr And finally, we have the Unimog. I used City set #60083 (which is a much better representation of a Unimog than the JW one) as a base for this one and tried to improve the official LEGO design from the JW theme. JW Unimog 1 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr JW Unimog 2 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr The rear section was made shorter and I completely modified the interior but you can still fit standing minifigs in there without problems. JW Unimog 3 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr Here's an example of the vehicle with a different rear section (this one is inspired by set 4205). JW Unimog 4 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr JW2 by Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr If you guys like them, here's the LDD file containing all the vehicles: Jurassic World Vehicles.lxf Thank you for stopping by. ;)
  9. Theramore Castle by Mark E., on Flickr Long time absent from Eurobricks! Thankfully I have some new stuff to share with you guys! Built in just over six months and using more than 55,600 pieces, Theramore Castle is my largest creation so far in my LEGO building experience. It's definitely not my landscape-focused norm, but it was a fantastic and difficult challenge to complete it. This model is built as closely as possible to the actual Theramore Castle in the World of Warcraft Video Game. Sorry the pictures aren't the highest quality. This MOC was so large that it was very hard to photograph! Thanks for viewing and have a great day! 10. Hi Eurobricks and swashbucklers. I haven't posted much of my own making in recent years, simply because well.. let's just say I'm a bit lazy. Sorry! Back in 2015-2016 when I was 15 -16 years old (I know, easy to remember) I started messing around a bit with a custom built ship and No. 6721 "Imperial Flagship" (which was one of the last second hand set I bought). It was also at that time I discovered the Aubrey-Maturin novels, and began devouring them in a way you don't expect from someone my age. I also found out a movie adaption was made, containing various elements from the novels. I watched it, and again, and again, and I became a bit obsessed with the story and historical accuracy. And I was (and still am) a lego fan. So 1+1 is 2, ey? I grabbed a green robe and tried recreating a scene! Thanks to a friend who helped me with final cut pro and my mother for sewing the sails, I am very glad I can present to you a movie I should've released three years ago! Here's something I had much fun working on, with vague images, laughable special effects and the occasional video thrown in. Please enjoy. I hope I inspire someone to make a perfect version of this. Kind regards, Captain Edward, or on youtube: Jiskpirate P.S. Be sure to check out my older animations on my channel, with some being reasonably successful, although not too good. For me, my channel is one big plaza of nostalgia.

  15. I thought I'd build up a few models in the series before sharing it on here, but with four instalments so far, I felt it was time. This is my Star Wars Ring-Worlds project, each instalment depicts/will depict a different location in the star wars galaxy with each one confined to the same circular base. And that's about it really, as the title suggests this won't be a series I'll update regularly, rather an ongoing project where I'll build the nest location as and when I fell like it. I've got a few ideas about which planets (or moons ) to do next but if anyone has any suggestions or ideas I'm all ears. But for now at least, I'll end this first post with the first four instalments in the series, Yavin 4, Lah'mu, Naboo and Lothal. Enjoy! 18. LEGO World NL 2015 The preparations for LEGO World in the Netherlands have started. The last couple of years it has been more for the Dutch AFOLs, but this year we like to welcome AFOL’s from outside the Netherlands, to make it a proper international event again. For the last 2 years LEGO World has taken place in the centre of The Netherlands in the city of Utrecht instead of Zwolle. The venue will be the Jaarbeurs, next to Utrecht central station, easy to reach by train. As usual the event will be around the autumn holidays in The Netherlands, from October 21st to 27th 2015. The Jaarbeurs is a modern complex, with a proper dining room and good facilities. One of the important sections of the event is the Fanzone. Here many AFOLs will get the chance to show their work to the audience. As the event is very popular in the Netherlands many fans will subscribe and many great builders will come with their latest MOCs and layouts. If you are interested being part of this year’s LEGO World NL, click on the link below for the subscription form. The information about the event and the subscription are in the newsletter (link in the subscription form). Subscribe Don’t wait too long, because subscription will close on July 15th. As the space is limited the Steering Group will review all entries based on size, quality, presentation and attractiveness for the visitors. But we can facilitate many AFOLs for sure! Information The event will take place from October 21st to 27th. Setting up on 20th of October (first week) or 24th of October (last week). We are still sorting out the price for exhibitors accommodations. Last year this was €10 per night. Every day a shuttle bus will take you from and to the venue. All meals are free. Several attractive goodies for exhibitors. Sale evening on Friday 23th of October, parts can be bought for LUG-bulk prices (in Euro’s). AFOL diner is on Saturday 24th of October We are looking forward your application. Happy building! Best regards, Steering Group LEGO World NL 2015 Important! If you are interested and you have any question, it's better to send an email to legoworldnederland@gmail.com instead of posting a reply in this topic!
  19. Here are a brick built Tyrannosaurus and Indominus Rex I made for Lego Ideas. They are approximately minifigure scale with moderate part counts. Both dinosaurs are built with multiple points of articulation suitable for posing, as indicated by in the images. Part counts are 324 for Tyrannosaurus Rex and 373 for Induminus. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/109869 https://ideas.lego.com/projects/109869 https://ideas.lego.com/projects/109869 Also, here are the LDraw files for all who are interested: i_rex.ldr t_rex.ldr

    Willys Jeep [MOC]

I know, I know, the presentation is as always horrendous, but it is the best I can do for now (and for those who regularly check my stream knows that I usually change the photo a couple of times). But enough with that, this is my new designed willys jeep, now the back is heavily inspired by PA´s, otherwise I think it is pretty unique (as unique a willy gets these days).
