  2. Hey everyone, I'm very glad to show you guys my latest creation. When I received this Scooby Doo set (Mystery Manson) from my wife. The first thing I wanted to build around was a Haunted Village were all the team could be investigating. So here is the result. I personally think it is my most achieved moc I've done and I'm very happy with it. Hope you guys like it :) C ya around. 3. Just a fun little build experimenting with using a border and messing around with ground techniques. I also just wanted to use those great knight figs! I have another build in progress, I might make this into a little series - The Black Falcons vs. the Frightening Knights (or Bear Knights, I can't decide) Figless: Comments & Criticism appreciated.
  4. Hello Historic Themes community, this is my first MOC worth sharing. I started with a modified version of the Guarded Inn, then tried to decide why an Inn clearly built into a wall would need a guard post on its roof. My answer was to build it into a relatively unfortified corner of a town wall, thus necessitating the need for the elevated position. Next I wanted to experiment some with landscaping and build in the stream. Finally, I love the Mountain Hut, and even though its a modern set I thought it fit nicely. As you can see, this is a blend of official sets (including the tree from the MMV and the Guard "Shack" from Kingdom's Joust) and my own work. The goal was to slowly expand over time into a larger town, but this is isn't very stable and will need to be rebuilt from the ground up. I learned a good bit though, and while its on to another project for now, I'll revisit this idea again one day! Any feedback for a relatively new "MOCer" is appreciated! 5. Hi again guys. So, this is my 2nd entry for the CCC, more specifically for the Large Miscellaneous Category. I’ve been wanting to build a medieval village for quite a while and finally I was able to do it. I had a lot of trouble because I ran out of bricks in sooo many spots that I had to improvise a lot. Also, I don’t really like square bases, but, again, I was out of wedge plates so this was the best solution that I could find :/ CC is welcome as always. Enjoy!
  6. Gregory: Welcome back Jordan, it's been a long time Jordan: Yes it has, but now i am back for good. My second attempt to build something Castle themed. I think this one was better then my last.
  7. Each year the Winter Village expands, and I've decided to take some shots of it this year. So here you are: You may remember my entry in the 2012 Winter Village contest, which is still together and one of the centerpieces in my layout. A little flocking gives the illusion of a snow-covered ground. The whole shebang. Apologies for the substandard photography. I was going to hold off on the Winter Village Market set, but the VIP deal with triple points and the free truck broke me on that one last week. The skating rink is now direcly in front of the bakery. This is a holdover from the modular winter village layour I put together last year, but quickly decided that I had outgrown it. A Buffer stop in front of the post office. A simple little design that took me 5 minutes to conjure up. And as a bonus, you can see videos of the train in action on .Happy Holidays!
  8. My entry for the Winter Village IV Contest: "Theatre in the Park!" While shopping at the winter village, why not stay and watch a bit of legitimate theatre? UPDATED 12/16: Added more pictures of the vignette. Main View Stage Park/Bench Area Thanks for viewing my entry! LegoWookie, on Flickr
  9. Legonardo inspired the roofs of the houses and Eklund inspired the roof on the well. I researched vikings a bit for this build and tried to make the houses historically accurate. There is only one room in each house and the deep benches serve both as seats and beds. Each house has a fire and a hole in the roof to let the smoke out. The children in the build are doing some of things most common for viking children: the boys haul water, learn carpentry, and practice fighting, while the girls help cook and weave wool. The village of Nordheim lies in the Clan Lands of Mitgardia: There are more pictures here: link All comments/criticism appreciated Also I'd like to receive UoP credits for: wall techniques (wooden walls) [architecture], village life [anthropology] = 2 credits
  10. (A new part of a lay-out I'm working on) Nibelar, one of the villages of the Nibelung clan. Elon is entering Nibelar. He got an important message of his brother, who sought refuge in the town. "Elon, good to see you again. It has been too long" "Likewise Sibon, how are your men?" "All dead... They got them all." "How?" "One of them was a guest in the embassy, his skill was incredible. When we finally got him, it was too late. He already managed to open the gates to let more of his kind in. My men managed to get me to the secret tunnel, but they paid with their lives. Elon, you're not safe. Before he started his killing spree he said, all Chorians will die... To be continued... Village life.
  11. I present to you my entry for: Expand the Winter Village Contest III The Winter Village Tavern! (I apologize for the image quality) I don't have any of the winter village sets (all the more reason I'd love to win one! ) so I had to look them up online to get a feel for their look. I loved the way the Cottage was designed and decided to model mine after that! Here's some more shots The inside! The side! Where do the kids go while their parents are in the pub? Outside, where they have snowball fights, of course! Full set: flickr page with all of the pictures (much better quality): http://www.flickr.com/photos/70459923@N05/ I hope you enjoyed this! Thanks for looking Good luck to the other contestants! Why did only the last picture load? Sorry guys...
  12. B-OV-40B So, that Winter Village contest is going on, and I (surprisingly) haven't seen any entries yet! I can't enter this digital entries aren't allowed. I made this for fun, anyway, I do it every year. Last year I made a candy store. But this year, I thought I'd try something smaller; a book store! Final_Winter_Book_Shop3 The store itself is 628 pieces, there is a light brick, but I will get on to that later. I had a few design flaws, like the rounded window. I wanted it to have some icicles, but using the green rounded plates wouldn't allow me to have them in some places. I tried my best not to have the window's roof from the post office set, so I kinda.. altered it. Some scenery is included; a tree with a snow pile (from the snowblower), and a small bridge with a stream underneath and a little wreath. The minifigures: WBS1 From left to right: Book Store Owner, Mother, Daughter, Father, Snow Worker Then a few inside images: Choosing books Buying a book (Where's the book? ) Upstairs bedroom, bed w/ lamp and a 'picture' (or newspaper ) The fireplace and light brick, that shines through the window! Side view (notice the technic pin hole in the 1st alt image?) So that's my Winter Book Store. I hope you all liked it! Comments appreciated -Sci
  13. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! While other airports may be hectic and troublesome this time of year, there are never long lines at Village Air. Travelers come from far and wide to take a short ride with pilot Charles Brickbergh, the legendary aviator who completed the first trans-Atlantic flight. Since retirement, he has made a humble home in Winter Village, and built a small prop plane that the locals affectionately refer to as "Rudolph." As our eager travelers (a small family of four) anxiously await the return of the pilot, they enjoy the hospitality and fine food of the Airport Café; and Charles' trusty mechanic Biff works on the plane. ~ I noticed, as I was going through the last five years of Winter Village contest entries, that while there have been lots of cottages, and train stations, and shops, no one had ever built a Village Airport. This seemed like the perfect opportunity. While my entry stretches to 48-studs wide it is mostly open space due to the plane hangar (and the piece count comes in around 1500) so I think it is still in the approximate size of previous Winter Village sets. There are a few more pictures on my flickr account (unfortunately, I was taking pictures as we were heading out of town for the long Holiday so I didn't get time to set them up the way I wanted) - https://www.flickr.c...th/23424630643/. Any constructive criticism would be more than welcome - first time I've built anything like this. Thanks!
  14. The Gift Ship Hello all, nice to meet you! Here is my entry for the Winter Village contest. The Gift Ship! Sometimes Santa and the elves like to get out of the shop and take boat ride around the Winter Village. They go sailing around fishing for gifts and sharing them with children around the coasts. The Gift Ship comes complete with wrapping stations with ribbon and tape, rolls of wrapping paper, AND, get this, GIFTS! I wanted to make something convertible since I feel like the past WV could give the option for closing up the backs without sacrificing a lot and increase play value and display options. I also felt that while always awesome the locomotives have been stealing the spotlight away from other perfectly good forms of transportation! I had much more planned but unfortunately I only had last night to work on this and things escalated pretty quickly in the building department. Hope you enjoy the photos and can find some techniques and brick combinations you like! Let's set sail! Thank you for looking and have a Happy New Year!!! 15. After a long absence, that I am presenting today it is the single largest MOC and challenging I have ever done so far. This MOC represent a medieval winter district with 4 houses, a cemetery (on the back) and a rock mountain with a castle used today for tourism visits. Around the block it consists of 6 Baseplates 32x32 and will be part again of my famous Winter Village. This project took me nine months of work and the use of 16,000 pieces. All the houses and the whole castle (and the basement of the castle) are embellished with furnishings with many scenes and details. The entire moc consists of 45 Minifigs and there are various curiosities scattered to embellish the work. I put on Flickr over 100 photographs to observe every detail of this moc. You can ask me all the curiosity and I will try to fill all your questions. This MOC will be presented for the first time in Lecco (Italy) during the two days of the exhibition at the end of July 2016. Flickr Complete Gallery: Greetings to all! Sandro ....The Winter Has Come!!!

  17. Hello, It's that time of the year again when the snowflakes fall and everyone is looking forward to christmas. Maybe somewhere else, but in Germany we had 16,5°C / 61,7°F today. Feels like summer. To compensate for the Christmas stress and the inappropriate weather I built this "dream winter scene". If you like it, you can find more pictures here. Jonas
