  1. The Eslandolan coastal cutter "Pato Moreno" is used to transport agricultural produce from the plantations to the colonial capital Nova Terreli where they are put on larger ocean going vessels. She is an excellent craft for the shallow shores around Nelissa and often enough used to travel the rivers inland. On this run she's loaded with cotton .. builder's note: sorry for the poor quality pics, I will get better ones once I have natural light again tomorrow ...
  2. My first ship MOC. she has one large central cannon, two cannon ports towards the aft - with (currently) one smaller cannon and one more signal, close quarters cannon all the way astern. the cabin has a cot and a table with a map, bottle, and a light fixture. If anyone has an idea about the class of this ship... I would like to register it, but not sure as what class exactly, thank you
  3. OoC: This is my 6th freebuild. If you are not a Sea Rat, please say you approve or give me a , thank you! Previously: Recruiting at Marco's This Is Not the Wealthy Housing of Rassilon Falling Out with Foxx Cantu's Fort in Rassilon This is a Class 2 A "Armored Sloop" Captain Fang studied his maps carefully as The Viper and its crew set sail from Rassilon. He knew this voyage would be very important as it was their first voyage without the status of Olean Privateer in many years. He didn't know how well the crew was adjusting to the change and feared a mutiny. It didn't help that his son, Li, was vying with him for authority on the ship. He knew that unless their prize was as large or larger than the sum they normally received from Lord Foxx, his days as a captain would be very short indeed. Knowing this, he had ordered extra kegs of powder and more cannon balls to be purchased and loaded on board. They would be ready for a fight if their prize didn't surrender easily. Armed with 4 cannons, The Viper had a nasty bite.

  5. Hi, I'm wandering around the web looking for sites that like Lego, so I'm a newb here. I have a Lego Ideas project, the Lego Disney Wonder Cruise Ship, at https://ideas.lego.com/projects/128153 so please support it :) I also have some blog posts about the Lego Wonder Cruise Ship here: http://ourrandombits.blogspot.com/ - it's a cool story, so check it out. There's a link to the YouTube about it too. More recently I've started getting some attention for my full size, primarily Lego, moving R2-D2, L3-G0. As far as I know he's currently the only full size working Lego R2-D2. (I've Bing'd and Google'd and haven't found another, though there are some other good builds). L3-G0 the Lego R2-D2 got his own blog at http://L3-G0.blogspot.com- feel free to check that out too, and I don't mind if you share the link or tweet! :) The first blog also has a few other miscellaneous projects, time lapse build of a Lego Seattle Space Needle, a few random photos, and observations about the variance in brick sizes... - Kresty
  6. Ibn al'Sayeed, merchant, Corrington. Shrewd in all matters mercantile, al'Sayeed is a well known trader in most of the ports and markets of the old world. As the new world is opening up, he has decided to expand his area of operations to take his part in the riches it promises. So far an independent merchant, he is considering joining a trade company, should the right offer be presented him. His crew consists of the Papadopoulos brothers, Stephanos and Arcenio. They are strong and fully able seamen, and have more than once fended off raiders trying to appropriate al'Sayeed's cargo. Little is known of them, though, as they tend to stick to themselves, mainly convering in a gruff, exotic language known to few. Some have speculated that it might be their native tongue, but so far, few has recognised it. The Sphinx, Xebec, Class 2 fast His ship is the Sphinx, a swift and maneuverable xebec with a reasonable cargo hold. Al'Sayeed tends to supplement the capacity by carrying extra cargo on deck, as it all adds to the profit margins. Rigged with large lateens on the two masts, the Sphinx excels at going near the wind, often enabling her escape from much larger, square-rigged enemies. (or custom's patrols...) The lateens give a big sail area for a small vessel, while still being easy for a few men to handle. In stable weather, one skilled hand can take her through a tacking into the wind. She is armed with four 4 pounder guns, but due to the cost of gunpowder, they are rarely fired. Al'Sayeed prefers to flee rather than fight. Not that he is a coward - it is simply better business not to have one's ship and precious cargo damaged in battle. (or, in the case of official patrols.... it is better business not having the more... exotic contains of the cargo holds confiscated by customs... ) ______________________________________________________________________________________________ This will be my first ship for the MRCA, and I am planning to rate her a class two fast. Any feedback on this would be much appreciated. Since this project is still in its infancy, I find it important to debate and establish the baselines for the different classes. Compared to some of the other class two vessel here, she may be on the small side, but I think that goes well with the "fast" designation. Further, I feel there is room for a class between vessels like this, and the class 0 rowboats and canoes. And we shouldn't make these class two vessels too large - then we will have problems when we get to the higher classes! I am not saying the other class two vessels should be reclassified, but basically asking if this is within the "creative license" of what the admins had envisioned for class 2. Any other feedback is, as always, welcome as well! I went throught several iterations and techniques for hulls, before coming up with this one, which I am quite happy with. I knew I wanted a ship of approximately this size, but no matter whether I used prefab bow pieces (6 wide), arches, or slopes, could I find a technique I liked. After roaming the interwebs for a bit, and experimenting even more, I finally came up with this. Will be looking forward to hearing your input. I will register this as a freebuild, but await a debate on the class before I register it as a vessel for my free license.

    Solid Hull that floats?

Hi everyone, I don't post much on here but I wanted to get some feedback on something that has been 'floating' in the back of my mind since I was a child. I'm a huge fan of the Lego pirate ships and all lego boats for that matter. Particularly the series of boats that float with the use of one solid plastic hull piece. In the beginning these hulls were rather small and have grown larger over the year; the "City Lines" cargo ship being the largest solid plastic hull piece made by Lego. Now I've been a long time fan of the grand lego ships since the Black Seas Barracuda and as a child I always wanted to be able to have the grand ship float along side me while swimming in our family pool. I know many lego builders would shun at having their lego get wet but Lego is a near indestructible toy and it would be fun I think! kids would get a kick out of it. So I was thinking of something similar to this: As you can see the hull would be a rather large solid plastic brown piece but compatible with Lego bricks. I have never seen anything accomplished with this and I may have to make a prototype myself. What does everyone think of this idea? Would you be interested in a solid lego galleon hull? Perhaps the float-able hulls could be sectioned into pieces thus allowing the creator to make the hull shorter or longer depending? I just think there could be a lot of fun with this if only it existed.

  9. Upon this glorious day of her Majesty the Queen, the HMS Green Dragon has sailed out of port in Arlinsport, and has taken to the wide oceans in search of new lands and civilisations. The small but agile cutter, commandeered by Sir Thomas Smaugton, will travel first to pick up some researchers, before heading out and following a lead to some mysterious island, of which nothing more can be said for now, but expecting arrival at destination within two days. The Green Dragon was selected for this as it sacrifices armament, consisting of two single swivel guns and a minimal Marine detachment, and cargo capacity. This makes it highly suitable for transportation of highly ranked persons of intrest, as they are mostly outfitted to outrun rather then engage opposing ships of malicious intent.

    Pirate Ship Lucretia

    172C A pirate ship! This one is 100% lego (no costum sails and/or rigging) And it is probably the last ship I'll have built using prefab hull pieces. I used blue baseplates for presentation with blue transp. pieces on them... I need a lot more . I was at LegoWorld Copenhagen in Februari where I worked together with Morthen Poulsen to create a large pirate layout, he had around 50 000 transp. bits for covering the baseplates, it looked great. I have pictures but they're not of the best quality . But if that doesn't bother you, by any means, check them out: LW Copenhagen Pirate Layout! If you were wondering which ships are mine/his, check out the flags, he has them flying the wrong way. Morthen has more and better pictures but he didn't have time so far to upload them... Sadly there's no interior in this one, Due to time pressure (it had to be ready for Lego World) I had priorities. I could still do it later though. I have no clue about this ship's type. It's kind of unusual for a (partial) double decker to have only two masts. An oversized Ketch perhaps? I hope you like it, A decent one to end my era of prefab hulls I'd say . More pictures can be found in my brickshelf gallery. As for future projects; I'm expecting to have my hands full with the guilds of the brickseas (but that's a working title really ). And I may once again give this old lady another try;

    Winter Village: The Gift Ship

The Gift Ship Hello all, nice to meet you! Here is my entry for the Winter Village contest. The Gift Ship! Sometimes Santa and the elves like to get out of the shop and take boat ride around the Winter Village. They go sailing around fishing for gifts and sharing them with children around the coasts. The Gift Ship comes complete with wrapping stations with ribbon and tape, rolls of wrapping paper, AND, get this, GIFTS! I wanted to make something convertible since I feel like the past WV could give the option for closing up the backs without sacrificing a lot and increase play value and display options. I also felt that while always awesome the locomotives have been stealing the spotlight away from other perfectly good forms of transportation! I had much more planned but unfortunately I only had last night to work on this and things escalated pretty quickly in the building department. Hope you enjoy the photos and can find some techniques and brick combinations you like! Let's set sail! Thank you for looking and have a Happy New Year!!! [MOC] Loki's Shadow

I completed this SHIP some days ago for SHIPtember. I hope you like it. Loki's shadow by FonsoSac, en Flickr Loki's Shadow is a ship of the Confederation of Planets Human specializing in electronic warfare. Named after the deceitful norse god Loki. As the god Loki its power is not based on the strength of their arms but on the ability of creating confusion in enemy systems . Most of the interior is full of nano procesadores running AI programs that try to penetrate enemy defenses. In the Sgur system conflict Loki's shadow was crucial to disable all systems of the Admiral Garamon's flagship leaving it at the mercy of the Confederate frigates. The battle was decided with no casualties in 12 minutes. Loki's shadow by FonsoSac, en Flickr Known functions: - Interfere communications. - Capture and decrypt communications. - Disable enemy shields - Disable enemy weapons - Loosen the targeting systems - Confuse identification friend or foe systems causing friendly fire - Divert, direct or detonate launched missiles and torpedoes - Disable propulsion systems - Interfere enemy sensors to hide allied ships and/or show more ships than there really are in the battlefield - Avoid the enemy can do all the above in the ships of the Confederation Loki's Shadow by FonsoSac, en Flickr More photos on my flickr account

    MOC: Tiny Ocean Liner

Tiny Ocean Liner is my next micro MOC project for the Bricklink MOC Shop. This rendering is temporary and not for the final product (missing part is in the mail). Real photos and building instructions are in the works. Anyway, this MOC is inspired by great passenger ships of the early 1900’s, from before aviation took over. It may be tiny but this building challange is great

    Sunset mirage

Once upon a time some redcoats caught a pirate, an enemy of the British crown. He was so terrible that the royal guards and even yeomen were taking him by sea to the Tower of London. But the ship was attacked and sunk by his rascal friends. Still the redcoats won the battle and captured the pirate ship. You can see how she was damaged - almost no sails etc. Actually it's a combination of 6286 Skyll's Eye Schooner and 7416 a boat of the Oriental Expedition. Unfortunately I don't have sails for it and can't buy them anywhere. If you like it please support my 2 LEGO ideas projects and leave your comments here. Many thanks and happy building. Sorry, the picture isn't loading thogh I tried hard. Maybe later. You can see the ship completed with brick sails using this link. http://www.us.lego.com/en-us/gallery/cee9167d-0f50-422f-bac7-703551d52c60?index=5&categoryId=64929898-C52F-49D8-B106-C0C36314093C Principally Square-rigged, 3 masts 22B You can find the "Sunset mirage" photo here: http://www.us.lego.c...a9e3495?index=1 Below you can see 8286 and 7416. My link shows how I combined them. For example, I put small pirate flags near the cannons instead of gfeen ones.
  17. Hello, everyone. I have another MOC to present you today. This one is based off of the A-Wing Starfighter as seen in Star Wars: Rebels season 2. It's based on the 2013 A-Wing model, but with many changes made in order to closer match the starfighter as seen on television. Playfeatures include retractable landing gear, opening cockpit window, and hidden storage compartments. Minifigures include Commander Sato, Ahsoka Tano, and an A-Wing pilot. This set rests at 213 pieces. Any comments, criticisms, or thoughts are welcome and encouraged! I've included the .lxf file for those who would like to fiddle with the design themselves. More pictures as well as another download for the .lxf file can be found here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=558711 (Note: folder may be private until approved) A-Wing Starfighter.lxf

    Catamaran Sailboat

Hello! I'm sure, that everyone has already heard about that technique, when we use only 1x2 plates or bricks to creat curves. I wanted to try it, too. The result is here with 100+ 1x2 bricks, 50+ 1x2 plates and a fully detailed interior! At first please look at my previous sailboat. It was interesting to see the difference between them. In the old one there are a boat hull of a Lego set. Now it was very cool that I didn't have fixed dimensions! The boat has some interesting features and building techniques. My favourite one is the brickbuilt mast. There are four sections in it: -2x2 round bricks -1x1 bricks with stud on four sides and 1x1 round plates with holes on the studs, covered by 1x8 tiles -1x1 high bricks -1x1 round bricks Fortunately all of the elements has hole, so it was possible to put technic axles and bars or rigid hoses into them. So the fragility of the mast disappeared! More pictures on its MOCpage! Hope you like it! Thanks for visiting!
  19. I know in these months , Lego receives a lot of order so they can be late delivered . I ordered a lego technic set 42042 on about 11/11/2015 and now where is still no email which include stracking number or confirm that they started to ship . Is that normal ?
  20. Hello everybody! I love the naval theme, but unfortunately policies pursued by Legonot allow for the production of Lego designers on this subject. That has to do everything myself)) Allow me to introduce my MOC - Sovremenny-class destroyer. Last version built in LDD. Scale 1: 350. Comments and suggestions are welcome. [MOC] Small pirate ship

So I was given some ship pieces a while back (hull pieces, mast and cannons) and after quite a bit of playing and building and rebuilding, I finally finished the ship (well sort of, enough to post her here). ship, on Flickr Partially Square-rigged, one mast 10 I didn't have any spare cloth sails, and I'm not in the mood to make some at the moment, so I went with brick built (think I'd seen this style done before somewhere, but can't remember where). sails, on Flickr And I managed to squeeze a tiny Captain's cabin in the rear. Captain's Cabin, on Flickr parrots :-), on Flickr Thanks for looking :-) As always any suggestions for improvements welcome.
  22. These ruthless pirates thought that walking the plank was too easy of a punishment. They got together and decided to give the captured soldier no chance at survival by tying him to a chair and dropping him off in a remote part of the ocean. A view of the lower half of the ship, with an unwanted visitor... A birds eye view of the deck... This is my entry to the PTV 2015 contest (Small category). Thank you :) Pat

    Pirates: LEGO vs Playmobil

Hello pirate fans, I enjoyed photographing the well known first LEGO pirate ship (set #6285 Black Seas Barracuda, realesd in 1987) close to the first Playmobil pirate ship (set #3550 released in 1978). When LEGO launched the "pirate ship" I was already a teenager inside my dark age, so I bought it a few years ago at a flea market for a few euro. It was a bargain: it was almost complete and the bricks were like new and not played. The Playmobil ship instead is mine: Christmas 1980, my parents gave me the set 3550 that I have kept to this day. I've spent hours and hours playing with this pirateship when I was a child and I'm so happy to still own it! What do you think about these two toy masterpieces? Here few shots: More pictures and info: Norton74 @ flickr

  25. See the rest of the story: Season 1 Season 2 Junker's Fee Welcome to Fondor Fondor City Nightlife Many Bothans Died... Well At Least One Fixing to Clear the Mind Thermal Detonator Pot-Pie Focus Torturous Trial The Escape MKJoshA was forced to leave his ship, Rough Edges, in the space docks above Fondor when he and Kale fled the planet. He knew it would probably be impounded and sold for scrap, but that was a small price to pay to avoid the clutches of the Empire. Instead of the comforts of his own ship, he and Kale found themselves on board a barely space-worthy vessel known as The Calamity Star. In his efforts to help Josh escape, Kale had connected with the Rebel Alliance to see if they had any means of assisting. It turned out that they were no better equipped than Kale in helping Josh escape, but they did have a way for them to leave the planet. The Rebel Alliance was pursuing a mutually beneficial relationship with the crime syndicate known as the Black Sun. The Black Sun had a freighter leaving Fondor that day taking cargo to Nar Eurbrikka, and they were in need of two more crew members. Kale had signed the two of them up and they made it off world before the Imperials knew where they had gone. Josh and Kale needed to get to Kuat, but since the Black Sun was their only safe way off planet and since the Rebels needed their help a detour to Nar Eurbrikka couldn't be avoided. Josh just hoped the effort in helping the Black Sun was worth it. OoC: Comments and critiques welcome! I decided to double up my entry for this contest with my SHIP endeavors. Took a lot more bricks than I expected, but I'm pleased with the results.
