    Lego Disney Wonder

Sorry, didn't realize I was breaking a rule :) Here's a pix of her in the captain's cabin on the way back home (I don't think I've shared this before) Lego Wonder in Captain's Cabin (2) (1024x705) by Shawn Steele, on Flickr I'd rather not retype the story of building her, but it's at http://ourrandombits.blogspot.com/2012/12/LegoWonderCruiseShipPage1.html

    Lego Disney Wonder

Thanks everyone that's supported my Lego Wonder Cruise Ship on Ideas! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/128153 - it's made it to 1K - 10% of the way there, and a time extension :) Check on the updates for more pix and fun stories - this ship was built on the real Disney Wonder and came back to our house in the Captain's cabin! The Mini Wonder is still there as a thank you for bringing back our big Wonder.

    Full Size BB-8

    Well, it's not BB-8, but... https://ideas.lego.com/projects/63523
  4. You can tell by the "lower" Lego Ideas project # that I've been thinking about this for some time: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/63523 -- Anyway, people keep asking for instructions. I realize it's a longshot, but the "easiest" way for instructions to happen would be for it to be a real set, so here goes nothing... Note that this stands about zero chance as a "normal" set (obviously). We'd somehow have to convince Lego that there's enough interested people that there could at least be a limited run of 500 or 1000 "Special Limited Collector's Edition" sets made - which means that the price would have to necessarily inflated even more! So think well above 10 cents a brick. Clearly there's a market for collectors to pay thousands of $ for a model they like. The UCS Falcon is reselling for $3500 - I've seen one sold even! Aiii! Other non-Lego movie collectables and art sell for thousands as well. So: There's a market, but it's not the normal Lego market. Clearly most retailers are unlikely to be able to stock and sell a set this large, so it would have to be a special collector's market. Speciality shops can probably sell them, but that all adds to the overhead. Additional, a "small" run means that the per-unit production costs go up. So instead of expecting this model to sell for $2000 or so, we need to show Lego that people are willing to pay twice that. I'll make suggestions as an update, but the comments of the supporters will need to help demonstrate that there does exist such a specialty market. Even so, Lego is going to be hard pressed to do this. That specialty market may exist, but it's not Lego's forte. They may need to contract with others as they do for some of their smaller special runs and non-Lego merchandise. Even so, this isn't as big of a return as tens of thousands of a cheaper set, so they might not feel it's worth their time.

    Winter Village: Weihnachtspyramide

This is really cool! And way different than normal Lego sets! I really want one and am too lazy to try to reverse engineer it, so I hope everyone votes for his project on Ideas! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/125345

    Full Size BB-8

Our Lego BB-8 - full size, still a work in progress... My Lego BB-8 mostly complete! Here he is talking: (yea, I know it's the old voice, this was right after the movie was released, his voice is better now) BB-8 has his own blog at http://BB-8.Blogspot.com and facebook page http://facebook.com/LegoBB8 and twitter http://twitter.com/LegoBB8 Lego Mouse and BB-8 Dressed for Holidays (Hmm, the "Edit" button is dangerously close to the "Report" button!)
  12. Ok, I don't want to mess up, so where does a modern (Disney so it could be licensed) cruise ship MOC go? Lego Disney Wonder in Hawaii On Ideas Adventure has boat-y stuff. Pirates has boat-y (but older) stuff. Licensed has Disney stuff. Which one? :) Somewhere else?
  13. I really should include some photos of the MOCS: Lego Disney Wonder Cruise Ship - the idea on https://ideas.lego.com/projects/128153 L3-G0: (http://L3-G0.blogspot.com), MCK-Y (http://MCK-Y.blogspot.com), and BB-8 (http://BB-8.blogspot.com) Opening Night of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the Cinerama wit the 501st and our Lego Droids.
  14. I wandered away, but I guess I'm wandering back to poke around... Trying the lego ships again, much more support this time: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/128153
