    [MOC] Falchion - 55

My brother @LittleJohn and I built this spaceship for SHIPtember in just over a week. Inspired by this concept art, though we used that mainly as a starting point and then went with whatever worked as we progressed. Really happy with how it turned out! Length: 106 studs. Weight: Not yet determined.

Venture Koi SHIP from LEGO Universe

I started this last SHIPtember, but it actually took me a long while to finish it and have all the pics rendered. [MOC] Venture Koi by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr I chose to basically make an upscaled version of the iconic Venture Koi from the Universe MMO since it's been (now more) 10 years since its closure. I managed to roughly follow the same proportions, but getting it to be at least 100 studs long meant the front section was the one that got stretched the most, and I really enjoyed doing a mix of adding more greebles and upscaling some of the original ones, especially in the engines. Venture Koi - Teaser by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr [MOC] Venture Koi by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr The other thing that I wanted to improve were the pods and accessing them, since the original ones were just connected via technic beams - now there's a 2x4-sized tube/corridor where a minifig can slide down, with a 2x3 tile hatch and an actual interior. [MOC] Venture Koi - Pods by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr [MOC] Venture Koi - Pods by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr As for the ship's interior, that's where I had a lot of creative freedom since we only ever saw part of the bridge in the opening story cinematic, with Hael's Imagimeter and the shards searching for Planet Crux. I added the chairs, and I did the planet hologram display at the back as a reference to Duke's Crux Prime hologram in his room in Nexus Tower. [MOC] Venture Koi - Bridge by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr behind the bridge is where the crew quarters are located, with beds, kitchen, bathroom, and a roundtable for the 4 explorers, and then there's 2 sets of stairs that lead to the rear section of the ship and the cargo hold with (crew-coloured) crates. [MOC] Venture Koi - Cargo Hold & Quarters by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr In this rear section is where you'll find the engine room and the 2 tube entrances for the pods. The Venture Explorer and Nexus Tower's interiors were a big inspiration for the overall look. [MOC] Venture Koi - Engine Room by Admiraltyphoon, on Flickr Time management issues aside, I'm really satisfied with how everything came so well together, and I hope one day I get to build this in actual bricks.
  3. Hello everyone. With a little delay, I present to you my modest contribution to the SHIPTEMBER competition: I named the Sébosaurus. He is a terraformer capable of bringing life to twenty planets. There is everything you need; vats of proto culture saturated with primary cells. These cisterns (located behind the device) are mechanically attracted (planetary attractions), and diffuse genetically modified spores from the top of the atmosphere to the ground. They are programmed to bring life where they are sown. The Omega Fut, represented on the ship by the central energy sensor (visible as a large circle and insulating energy shield), as well as the front of the device with no less than 48 catalysts / multipliers. Unlimited autonomy since the domestication of infra-conductors in 2086 (neutral sidereal carbon footprint). 4. Hello! It's been awhile. But I am back at it again. This time going back to a previous build to build it in real bricks. I give you my SHIPtember(ish) progress (if years of no activity in a single build count LOL). So far I have 90% of the stbd side complete. It was more a matter of organizing all the 7000-something bricks I got for it. My last point working on it was making the Warrior drones and one engine back in 2019. Stopped as I got burnt out. But near the end of August I started building again after buying 3 hardware organizing boxes. Separated all I had into those and things sort of flowed together as I figured out how to use the instruction setting in Stud.io. Enjoy! 5. Just so you know the lingo, SHIP = "Seriously Huge Investment in Parts" (or, a large spacecraft over 100 studs long). Usually built in September as part of a month long building spree. (it's more like a mad dash, really) The month usually involves a digital poster created at the end for all participants who took the correctly facing pictures and followed the rules. Join the new SHIPtember group here. They also have a discord going created by Simon Liu but I don't have link for that. Anyway, I designed a MOC in early 2017, as seen here that later became a Classic Space version with a very long body called "Project Upsilon". I have decided to tear apart the original orange vessel linked to above that proceeded the CS project I built for SHIPtember 2018 and expand upon it with features from the Upsilon design... which was recreated for the new orange colony ship I'm posting about due to the Upsilon file being lost. …If that's not confusing enough, it was all based on a 2016 MOC by @dr_spock as seen here. Now that you head is probably spinning so fast it's probably nearing escape velocity, here is the lowdown on this ship's lore: This is the "Separation Anxiety", one of four Nexus Force colony ships for cryo-frozen colonists headed for the Andromeda Galaxy at full 9.0 warp from Beta Polaris. The bridge crew is still awake, and will be for the whole journey due to a small time-stasis field enveloping the bridge only. Why do that for them and not the passengers, you ask? Simple: the ships' on-board power is fully devoted to colonist life support and engine thrust only. (They couldn't power the time field even at full power!) The eight large arrays on either side of the ship power the field, and can draw energy from the microwave background radiation present all over the universe since the Big Bang.... endless power drawn from the Universe itself, so to speak. NOTES: A removable cockpit roof is standard here, although the colonists area is empty and unopen-able. This should be finished IRL by October 1st, at which point it will be added to the "SHIP's: WIPs and Discussion" group 2021 thread for use in the poster. (hopefully it will exist this year!) The nose features the bridge crew area, with a single weapon attached to the very front. This was actually an advanced heat dispenser for the microwave arrays that can be quickly re-calibrated to cut through dura-steel up to a 30 feet thick like butter.. and anything organic nearby cooks thoroughly or is incinerated to ash from the radiation as well. (depending on distance from beam impact) This weapon has never been tested to full power, as it might destroy the ship in the process. The two extremely high-power Nuclear-fusion engines get the ship going in a hurry. They are capable of Warp 9 - which is just barely sub-light speed - but require half a solar system's length to slow down to atmospheric-entry speed. (You really don't want to incinerate the planet's crust your are trying colonize with your engine's high-energy backwash!) Parts left to find after doing a cursory check of the pervious IRL model. All in all it should cost $65 (before shipping) according to BrickLink's wanted list feature a it stands right now. I'm not entirely sure I trust that number 100%, but it should be somewhere in that general ballpark. Comments are welcome from everyone!

  7. Hi everyone! I hope you are all well and healthy during these difficult times. This is my first SHIP (Seriously Huge Investment in Parts) and my entry for this year's SHIPtember. It is 147 studs long and features a full interior. I built most of it during the month of September and finished up the interior in the following weeks. This ship is an idea that I have had for over 10 years now and I am so excited to finally have realized it. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did making it. This build is dedicated to all the brave medical professionals that have worked so hard this year to keep us all safe, including my awesome sister who is a D.O. and who this ship is named after. It serves as a reminder that as long as we have heroes like them and we listen to them, we can make it through this difficult time and survive into the far future where such a spaceship could be a reality. The HSS Ceyda is a moderately sized, but fully equipped hospital spaceship (HSS). Once built by the Lego Space Federation to help out in the Great Blacktron War, she now mainly goes on humanitarian missions, traveling from system to system to offer medical services wherever she can. She is equipped with an emergency room, surgery room, sterilization room, radiological services (including CT), rehabilitation center, doctor's office, dentist office, optometry office, laboratory, pharmacy, wards, cafeteria, 10 escape pods, and more. The ship has no weapons, but it has an extra powerful shield generator to protect its passengers. Attacking the HSS Ceyda is considered a war crime by the Space Police. In case a distress signal is received nearby, the ship carries an ambulance shuttle that can be dispatched to go and bring potential patients back to the hospital. Above the hangar is a landing pad only for the ambulance and a decontamination airlock so that the paramedics can land and bring patients into the hospital without carrying in any space germs. There are tools on the ambulance landing pad to service the ambulance, but for more extensive repairs, the ambulance can enter the cargo and repair bay in the back. The landing pad can be removed for better access to the hangar. All throughout the ship there are teleporter pads known as "Televators" with which people can quickly travel to different parts of the ship simply by saying where they want to go. I designed the ship to split into two halves for easier transportation. On the backside of the hangar, there is the main entrance to the hospital as well as ladders which lead up to the crew's quarters. Here you can also get a good look at the laundry room. The roof of the wards section of the ship can be removed to access the interior. There are four wards with a total of 16 beds as well as 2 bathrooms. One of the patients in the ward is a tribute to my best friend Randy who sadly lost his battle with cancer last year and was a big Spider-Man fan. Each bathroom features a toilet, a sink, and a shower with handle bars and a fold-out chair for paraplegics. The escape pods are located directly under the wards. In an emergency, the patients are automatically lowered into the pods and ejected. At the front of the ship, there is a cafeteria where both patients and visitors can come to eat. Diners can entertain themselves by viewing the stars through the large windows or watching the TV in the back. Under the cafeteria is the rehab center gym where patients can regain their strength or lose some of the calories they gained at the cafeteria. On each side of the ship are large engine rooms where the engineers can maintain the ships's engines. Underneath the bridge is the captain's cabin with a bed, wardrobe and desk for the captain. Only the captain can teleport here. The captain's chair is located toward the back of the bridge from where he can easily oversee his crew. Next to it is a holo-map and behind it is a Televator which can only be accessed via a secure access code. The bridge crew members each man a control station in front of the large panoramic window. In the back of the ship, it has 2 main engines and 4 auxiliary thrusters, as well as the entrance for the cargo/repair bay. Here you can see the cargo/repair bay doors when open. The back wall can be opened and all 3 decks inside can be accessed by removing them like drawers. Here is an overview of the three decks once they are removed. Let's take a closer look at them, starting with the first deck. This one contains the reception and waiting area, pharmacy, laboratory, doctor's office, administrative office, dentist office, optometrist office, and a restroom. Several patients are waiting to be seen, including an Explorien who got a little too close to an egg while exploring an alien planet and now needs to get rid of a facehugger. One of the Mars Mission aliens is checking in as he accidentally impaled himself. Another alien is getting his prescription from the pharmacy. Meanwhile, there are reruns of Ninjago are playing on the little wall-mounted TV. A technician is doing some lab work while Dr. Zarifi (my sister) is entering her office to see a patient. Here you can see the restroom and the optometrist office where Dr. Fram (my real-life eye doctor) is having my sigfig perform vision tests. Meanwhile, an alien is having some dental work done and a robot is performing administrative task. The second deck is reserved for the crew members and can only be teleported to using a secure access code. In the Cargo & Repair Bay there are stacks of supplies and Octan concentrated power crystal fuel cells as well as a workstation for making repairs. There is also a small mech for moving heavy objects. Opposite of the Cargo & Repair Bay are the crew's quarters. There is one for male and one for female crew members, although all genders are welcome on board. The corridor in the middle leads to the engine rooms on the sides of the ship. Both quarters have a row of bunk beds, a small desk, and an adjacent bathroom with shower. Both the inner (blue) and outer doors (gray) of the Cargo & Repair Bay can be slid open and closed. The upper deck is connected to the ambulance landing pad so that critical patients can be brought directly to the ER or into surgery. On the other side of the upper deck is a room for radiology services, including an MRI machine, and a lounge where the crew can come to take a break.and have lunch. The bed of the MRI machine can be rolled in or out and there is a small room from where a crew member can operate the machine. The surgery room is state-of-the-art and features robot arms with which the surgeon can make precise operations from behind his control desk. Next to the operating room is the sterilization room where a robot sanitizes the medical equipment. Here you can see it flying alongside all the other SHIPtember 2020 entries. SHIPtember 2020 Poster by noblebun, on Flickr Again, I hope you liked it. Let me know if I forgot to include anything or if there's anything I could improve. Thanks for looking and stay safe out there!

    [MOC] SHIPtember: The M.O.C.H.A.

The M.O.C.H.A. An E-7 explorer short-range scout vessel, intended for spatial reconnaissance missions and troop deployment. With enough space for a crew of six and a small vehicle, the M.O.C.H.A. is equipped with two laser shooters (one up front and another next to the cockpit) and a single-powered 16 ion-drive thruster. This beauty tops on 102 studs length. It was planned and built between September 13th and September 30th. This is the first spaceship I've ever built and I can't figure why I haven't done this before. It was a blast! Running through some difficulties - a weak structure, lack of plates, lack of tiles and color scheme troubles, to name a few - just made me want more of this, and I couldn't be happier with the result. Hope you all like it. Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Built for SHIPtember 2020 Louis of Nutwood
  9. Today, I am proud to present you my I-XTS (Intersystem eXtended Transport Ship). When I discovered the release of the 75293 Resistance I-TS Transport set, I immediately imagined to make a bigger version. When SHIPtember started (one month to build a ship of at least 100 studs) then I decided to actually build it. So the base concept was easy: increase the length of the standard I-TS set up to at least 100 studs knowing that the original is only 43 studs long. Because of the extended length, the ship name was easy to find. The base design concept In the SW universe, it is common to find extended versions or variants of a base design. Look at Star Destroyers, Calamarian cigars, Corellian corvettes, YT variants, all these nice ships we see in Dark Empire.... But ok, just increasing the length is easy. Still ensuring that the resulting design is attractive is another topic Instead of having a single cargo bay, I decided to go with 2 bays with a small central module to create texturing and shape variation. Globally, it works: With a widened and detailed cockpit, 2 large cargo bays, and an larger engine section, the ship is coherent. Please note as well as the ship backbone is 2 studs wider than the stock model. Technically, there was nothing too challenging in building the backbone based on the I-TS instructions. Just add technic bricks until you reach the desired length, and abuse of technic pins to make everything fitting together. In the end, it is robust. The result I-XTS profiles by Veynom, on Flickr I-XTS details by Veynom, on Flickr I-XTS inside by Veynom, on Flickr Anio pointait le manque d'espace dans la soute cargo .... moi, je peux facilement y loger un Bantha. Some reviewers complained about the tight cargo area ... well, I can put a Bantha in each of my cargo bay. Fine, taking decent picture of this long ship is more difficult than actually building it. If you're interested in the constructions steps, please see below. It took me around 30 hours spread over 10 days. Day 1: After the first hours, the backbone is ready. It measures already 96 studs and has the correct shape. The location of both cargo bay is already defined. The extra width (2 studs) is very noticeable. SHIPtember 2020 - day 1 by Veynom, on Flickr Day 2: The top of the ship is becoming wider to match the original shape. The side supporting structures are in place and the central section start showing how it will look like: a kind of mirrored of the front section (just behind the cockpit). Clones have been supplied as re-enfircement to speed up the construction process. SHIPtember 2020 - day 2 by Veynom, on Flickr Day 3 Time to play with the engines (port side). Size seems fine from the first try ... and the ship officially goes over the 100 studs threshold. Building the engines and the supporting pod was quite easy based on the original instructions. It was even fun. SHIPtember 2020 - day 3 by Veynom, on Flickr Day 4 After the engine, the bow. The cockpit is twice wider than the original I-TS and is the larger section of the ship. Initially, I wanted to put 2 minifigs inside but I failed due to some structure constraints as you will see below. From this day, the length is around 110 studs. SHIPtember 2020 - day 4 by Veynom, on Flickr Day 5 I wanted to detail the cockpit further and that consumed a lot of time. Finally, after too many build-unbuild-rebuild phases, here is the result. Detailed inside, slick outside. In the end, I liked how the modified plate with rail perfectly fits on top of the panel 1x2x1. Sadly, I had to drop my initial idea of putting 2 minifigs in the cockpit. SHIPtember 2020 - day 5 by Veynom, on Flickr Day 6 Now that both the bow and engine designs are complete,d it is time to work on the main body. The core section is taking shape and the same pattern as the original I-TS is mirrored to provide the final design of the transport ship. The large cargy bay doors and panels are being worked on. As of right now, 8 technic bricks are missing but these are on their way to my home. SHIPtember 2002 - day 6 by Veynom, on Flickr Day 7 Almost there. The bow is considered as completed and the design should not change anymore. I also reached a satisfying balance between greebling, texturing, and colors. Again, it required a few build-unbuild-rebuild phases (same player, try again) but ultimately, it is good looking. But it is about time as we are on the 24 of September with only 6 days to go before the deadline. And the cargo is large enough to hold a Bantha! Achievement! SHIPtember 2020 - day 7 by Veynom, on Flickr Day 8 This is copy/paste day. If it works in one location, then I copy it everywhere. As I received the technic bricks, I could complete the cargo bays. Then the 2nd engine pod. 5 days before the deadline and still the rear section is not over, without mentioning the core section. SHIPtember 2020 - day 8 by Veynom, on Flickr Day 10 Job done! Intersystem eXtended Transport Ship by Veynom, on Flickr A simple yet elegant transport ship, if you ask me. And now the question, could you spot where this part is used ? Minifig, cape plastic

    [MOC] Destroyer- 619 "Dominion"

Forge Class Destroyer- LL619 “Dominion” Length: 262 meters Armament: Anti-cruiser dual link Crusader Magnetic Acceleration Rail Cannon (4) Cruiser Buster missile tube (6) Peacekeeper long range orbital bombardment cannon (2) Rocket turret (1) Ion burst cannons (2) Heavy laser turrets (5) Quad link anti-fighter laser turrets (15) Complement: 9 Warden Class Interceptors (upper hangar) 6 Governor Class Heavy Bombers, 2 Transports shuttles or- 1 Kiltrip Defender Corvette (lower hangar) Crew: 235 Following the successful deployment of the Forge Class Battle Cruisers, the New Coalition found itself well position as peacekeepers. Peace, however, is often fleeting. A dissenting faction opposed to all forms of centralized government sprung up in the outer system of Conteruim. The Teriums as they become known retrofitted a number of older vessels with thick armor and multi directional weaponry. While the Battle Cruiser's Centurian weaponry was able to penetrate the armor plating, its line-of-sight design made engaging multiple Terium vessels difficult. To combat the Terium tactics, the New Coalition developed a new ship, the Forge Class Destroyer, equipped with direction port and starboard Crusader MARC cannons capable of eviscerating the armored Turium turtles with greater efficiency. The Destroyer also carried a larger complement than the Forge Class Battle Cruiser including heavy bombers or the ability to house a Kiltrip defender inside the Destroyer if bombers were not required on mission. The Destroyer also modified the hangar configuration as compared to the Anvil Class Carriers and the Battle cruiser to allow for hot take-offs and landings from a forward facing hangar opening. [MOC] RSS Korolev

    – Why have I chosen RSS Korolev? Every captain wants such ship. Fast. Huge. Convenient. Never mind, I m just joking. Someone else would say something about a new frontier and a spirit of discovery. As for me, it s just a new experience. You know, if you are captain, it s almost impossible to find anything except cargo ship. Or a liner for the lucky ones. It s not bad, but those routine delivery missions are too identical. Fly somewhere, take cargo, go back, repeat. This research voyage is completely different. Much more responsibility. There are larger cargo ships, but the crew is always low, a couple of dozens at the biggest ones. And all of them are captain s subordinates. Captain is a god on his ship. Here… everything is different. Hundreds of scientists are not just passengers. I have to change course if some astronomer finds some unusual star or if a biologist decides to scan particular planet for life. It s a bit annoying. Some more conservative person could find such situation real headache. But I don t want to return to the freighters. – They can say everything they want, but NavSystems was a general sponsor of this mission. So our aim is establishing new hyperspace routes and correcting old ones. Most expansive and complicated equipment of this ship are all kinds of hyperspace scanners. Laying a new route isn t a simple task. You have to keep in mind many factors to make it fast, reliable, safe, economic. And profitable for company. Days, when ship had to have huge powerful expansive computer onboard to calculate hyperjump, are gone. Companies like NavSystem provide access to their servers to make calculations as simple as it possible. Global hyperspace beacon network collects all necessary data; servers process it and give all parameters of a jump for a fair payment. This entire infrastructure has high running cost, so we can t do it for free. – Those bastards from the “navigators guild” think they are masters here. But most of them don t even understand that their precious hyperroutes are useless if nobody wants to use them. Every journey needs a reason. The most common and obvious one is valuable resource deposit. Humanity needs more resources for further expansion. That s why we should check every possible planet, moon or asteroid belt. Moreover, every planet is unique and can tell scientists something new and may be important. We ve already done several discoveries. But “navigators” always hurry us up if they find star system useless for them. We must do something. – This expedition has already given us good results. We collected tons of information and statistics. It will help for new colonists a lot. Some people hope we can find one more earth-like planet. It will be a great success. However, we checked thousands of planets and none of them is suitable for human without any special equipment. We even found some samples of life, but it were just bacteria and a couple of simplest seaweeds. Space is a dead place. I hope we can change this in future. RSS Korolev by Sunder_59, on Flickr
  15. An estimated 25000 parts, 9kg, 109cm long. (That's 20 pounds, 43 inches). For Lego Space builders there's a tradition: SHIPtember. Each September, any Lego fan can try to build a SHIP. (Also known as a Seriously Huge Investment in Parts). It's typically for spaceships, but I think landships work just fine. Minimum length of 100 studs, preferably to be built in a single month. Khagaan took three. The two smaller vehicles took a month each. Now I've finally finished filming and editing, it's Shiptember again. So in that way, it's perfectly on time :) More pictures:
  16. And here is my latest MOC, a Gozanti-class cruiser modified for deep-space exploration of the fringes of the known Galaxy. (/U version) Gozanti in space by Veynom, on Flickr First, a quick introduction to this Gozanti spaceship. It appear briefly in the prequels and can be more extensively seen inside the Star Wars Rebels anime series. I've chosen to built the latest from SW Rebels. The most visible difference is around the wings and the reactors but also regarding the color scheme based on 2 shades of greys. However, and let's be blunt, whatever the subversion, this ship is plain ugly and by far not the most elegant from the Star Wars universe, except maybe for those (a bit like me) who consider that because it is ugly then it must be an attractive ship. TLC has already released a set about this hip under reference 75106: But, without any second thought, we may agree that this is not their best rendering of a Star Wars ship. In short, it is just ugly and the only few sections where it could have been sleek have been slaughtered by an horrible greebling. Thereofre and because it was so ugly, I decided to make a nicer less ugly version of it. The main idea was to make a model more or less 3 to 4 times bigger and thus multiplying all dimensions of the 75106 by a factor of around 1.5. The final result is this model: Gozanti/U-class Cruiser by Veynom, on Flickr A small ship of 109 studs long (89 studs with the probe). As I built it during the month of September, I decided to add a forward probe in order to reach the mythical lgenth of 100 stuffs and participate to the SHIPtember contest. It results in a version which is a bit less canon but still probable within the Star Wars expanded universe. The resulting asymmetric forward body helps in breaking the otherwise monotonous aspect of the Gozanti without crippling the ship with excessive greebling. I could have also easily added the 11 missing studs to reach the 100-stud's length but as I worked without any detailed schematics (and online pictures are often contradicting each others). And in the end, basta, you will see many Lego Gozanti without a probe but mine is unique. Gozanti nose by Veynom, on Flickr I have integrated the playability features from the original set, except the shooters and springloaders that I despise in an very imperial way. Gozanti - Zoom on the central engine section by Veynom, on Flickr When you turn the black section of the central engine, both turrets will rotate. Absolutely useless but quite fun during a fair. The TIEs can be launched exactly like in the original set. I should make larger TIEs as well. There are 7 opening panels of all kinds: cockpit, forward port side, lateral sides (port & starboard), forward roof, main body and Ackbar hatch. A friend of mine felt quite inspired by my model and created several renderings. All of these are pure digital rendering and my original MOC is indeed grey. 17. "Quarrie! You ol' junk dealer, how's my new ship coming a long? You know an all out battle is no place for my Lady Luck." "Youur point is well taken Gold Leader. I'm suure a ship will arrive that matches your specifications; new allies aare arriving everyday with any kind of ship that can carry them. We maay not have the largest fleet and much of these beasts are cobbled together freighters with a suspicious number of armaments, buut the strength of the Rebel Fleet lies in it's heterogeneity and the ability of our Admirals to capitalize on those differences when the battle allows it." "Admiral, break off your current operations and send your Task Force to the Hudalla system and prepare for immanent fleet and ground operations." "Yes, my lord." Categories Category A: Starfighter or Freighter (anything under 100 studs) - The weapons race for a game changing starfighter culminates now above the forest moon of Endor. Build the perfect representation of a canonical starfighter or freighter, or create your own. Category B: Capital SHIPs (at least 100 studs) - Whether it's minifig-scale or a massive micro-scale ship, create a SHIP at least 100 studs long. Again, redefine the standard for a perfect canonical ship or create your own to join the fleet. Bonus: Build a scene for your starfighter or SHIP. This will help your score in Wave 1 and Wave 3. Additional story and exposition about the fighter or SHIP will help judges assess Wave 2. Most importantly, get your characters to Endor. Use this Episode as an opportunity to prepare your character for the ultimate battle on Endor. Whether they're piloting or just catching a ride we all know where everybody needs to end up. Make it happen. Rules All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Nar Eurbrikka subform, the title prefixed by "[SoNE Ep. XVI]" followed by "[Cat. A]" or "[Cat. B]" and your personal title. For example, "[SoNE Ep. XVI] [Cat. A] Grey Squadron Leader." You may build in one or both categories. If you use the same bonus scene for both categories, the extra points will be attributed to your Category A build. Canonical ships may be built, but you should improve on previous renditions. There have been a lot of X-Wings; if you're going to do one, do a damn good job. For any non-canonical ships, your score will weigh heavily on the appropriateness of your design and how it fits in with the rest of the fleet. The Episode will run from August 18 to September 30. As long as it is still September somewhere in the world, you can still post your build. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the Episode and will not receive XP. Entries will be judged on a 1-25 point scale, however the judges see fit. Points earned will be attributed to your character at the end of Wave 3. This episode/contest is open to all players of Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the episode has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win XP or prizes; the EB admins and moderators, who are not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP; and the episode host, who is not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the episode. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. Post pictures no larger than 1024x768, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on as many shots as you like. At least one shot must be posted (under a spoiler tag, if desired) with no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited,. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation or the rules above. Scoring Scoring will be done in three waves of single loss elimination. Both factions will choose an Admiral to command their fleet (Admirals must be available to choose builds in a timely manner or they will be replaced based on the judges's discretion). Each wave will involve one on one and one on two match ups chosen by the Admirals. Posting of results will depend on the rate of play, so it could be after each SHIP to SHIP or fighter to fighter skirmish or after the entire round; we're not exactly sure how it'll all play out. Scoring (Wave 1) When the submission deadline has passed, the Admiral of the largest fleet will choose a fighter and a SHIP to launch the Wave 1 attack. The smaller fleet Admiral will choose a fighter and a SHIP to counter their respective attackers. Judges will score each individual build (secretly) and the higher scoring builds will advance to Wave 2. The lower scoring build will be eliminated from the remainder of the competition. The smaller fleet Admiral will choose the next fighter and SHIP to attack and the larger fleet Admiral will counter. Judges will score/advance/eliminate builds. This will continue with each Admiral alternating attacks and counter attacks until one side is out of builds. The winning and remaining/unchallenged builds will advance to Wave 2. Scoring (Wave 2) The Admiral with the largest remaining/advanced fleet will choose EITHER a fighter or a SHIP to attack. The Admiral of the smaller fleet will counter with 1-2 builds, likely a capital SHIP and fighter escort. The judges will advance the build they think would win in an actual fight. Therefore, an intricate, perfectly-built transport SHIP, may be destroyed by a smaller, lower scored TIE fighter. Descriptions and stories of the builds will help the judges make their decisions. For example, although Mortesv's Nebulon-B is an absolutely stunning build that should win any competition we put together, but without a fighter escort, it may be destroyed by a crappy little Cutlass-9. Admirals will have to carefully weigh whether their best fighters should be on attack or defense. The Admirals will take turns attacking and countering builds until one side is out of builds. The winning and remaining/unchallenged builds will advance to Round 3. Scoring (Wave 3) Both fleets have suffered heavy attrition and will now face each other in mass. The (secret) scores on each remaining build will be tallied and the highest scoring faction will win the Episode. This is when effective protection of intricate, perfectly-built transport ships will be proven important. In the event of a tie, the judges will judge the entire fleet as a whole without regard for individual points, giving special notice to backstories and collaborations. The best fleet wins. Prizes All players with the winning fleet will receive this tag to commemorate their victory. You can only have one of these tags or one of the Community Build tags at a time, but a log will be kept of all the tags you've earned in your profile in the Player Index. You will receive XP equal to the number of points you are awarded from the judges in each category. The winning fleet may choose any unclaimed planet to add to their faction's territory.
  18. The ISB commander's yacht on Commenor had a partially scrubbed flight log, but I was able to identify approach protocols for an unusual class of ship from the control presets. These protocols insinuated that an aft approach was required for friendly vessels. Because the ISB yacht would not normally be concerned with the particular formalities required by other officers, it seemed likely that this aft approach was a mechanical requirement rather than the whims of the commander. Many smaller ships had similar mechanical requirements because of docking ports, but this yacht had very little wear around their ship-to-ship seals. This would imply a larger ship with a hangar large enough for a full yacht... the Barca-class cruiser. Imperial Barca-class Command Cruiser - Trasimene by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr These cruisers were quite rare; often used as serrated spear against larger capital ships. The cruiser would charge into close quarters with their larger foes, like some of the heavier Mon Cala ships increasingly being used by the Rebellion. Two heavy tractor beams would take hold and a starfighter contingent would be deployed to remove any enemy fighters or armaments from the ship. However, Imperial officers feared commanding such a ship because the quickest way to escape a serrated blade is to break it off. As the Mon Cala engines became more powerful, Barca-class cruisers were being pulled into hyperspace and ripped apart as the Rebels escaped. Imperial Barca-class Command Cruiser - Trasimene by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Cross referencing my other data, 37 of these ships were currently in service and attached to various task forces throughout the galaxy as auxiliary vessels. Nothing prestigious enough to warrant visits by an ISB commander's yacht. A 38th cruiser must still be out there, off the Empire's official books. Imperial Barca-class Command Cruiser - Trasimene by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr I would have to stowaway aboard the ISB capital ship overhead and look closer into their data. XVI - data 1 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Everything seemed normal. Disposed of a technician while he was preparing for his shift, reported to his post on time and busied myself until I was alone. Upgrades to my arm let me slice quickly into the terminal without exposing my chest scomp link, which would be necessary for such an exposed location, but more dangerous because of the slice wouldn't have all the usual redundant firewalls. Which is exactly what got me... XVI - data 2 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr I couldn't move. Helpless on the floor. Squads of stormtroopers ran by, but none came inside. They were securing the corridors all around me. A commander entered with his escort pilot. XVI - data 3 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Councilman 1 - "ISB Agent Goatm An 46-1, it is my honor to welcome you back home. Your services have been requested and it's time to end this little vacation of yours. "Pilot, secure our guest and extract his data. I want everything from the last 20, no, 50 years catalogued. We'll decide what we want to keep later. "Bridge! Proceed to our rendezvous with the Trasimene, the Endor system." Imperial Barca-class Command Cruiser - Trasimene by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr

    Shiptember

Hi there, It is my plan to build a ship for shiptember. No pics yet, but hopefully I will have something to show off soon.

    [MOC] Portal Spaceship

Portal ships are used to create instant connections with distant regions of the galaxy. Such ship can open a large quasi-stable wormhole and travel to the destination point, where it establishes a stable link with another ship in the point of origin. Since quasi-stable wormholes are dangerous, portal ships are fully automated. The ship is also capable of sublight flight in normal space. Here we can see a smaller ship appearing from subspace: Front view of the ship: Rear side of the ship with 3 groups of sublight engines: Close-up view of the portal: Close-up views of the engine pods: Larger photos can be found on flickr. Thank you for your attention!

  22. Here is my entry for the SHIPtember 2016 contest. Mobquet Medium Transport by Veynom, on Flickr This year, I decided to build a Mobquet Medium Transport coming straight from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Those among you who played to the X-Wing Alliance videogame or read the Dark Empire comics book must maybe remember it. Length: 104 studs Width: 34 studs This is my 5th SHIP. Mobquet Medium Transport by Veynom, on Flickr A small zoom on its "head": Mobquet Medium Transport by Veynom, on Flickr And on the back, with the engine exhausts: Mobquet Medium Transport by Veynom, on Flickr Please note that the back side is not fully conform to the original pictures. Normally, there should be 2 large engines at the bottom-read side. However, for playability reasons, I have decided not to display them. By removing them, the MOC can strongly land on the bottom repulsors and is much sturdier. My build technic is mainly about cladding panels around a strong technic backbone. I am still working on the inside as I want to make it playable for my son. However, here is a small sneak preview of one of the bays. More pictures later. Mobquet Medium Transport by Veynom, on Flickr A few features: A handle to easily carry it (and it is not too heavy according to my son) Opening panels on each sides (4 total) and on the top (also 4) in order to easily access the inside. Side panels can be used as access ramps A few visible studs inside the bays in order to attach small vehicles and ships Rear bay transport capacity: 6 speeder bikes (Empire or Clone Wars style) OR 4 speeder bikes & 2 pallets of equipment (small repair area) OR any 6 of the vehicles usually found within battle packs Central bay transport capacity: any of the below lines (all tested successfully) 2 Tank Droids (75015) 1 Mandalorien speeder 1 Jedi fighter (Aethersprite) 2 Geonosian fighters or Canon 2 clone light artillery guns 1 speeder bike with side-car Plenty of crates, or troops or whatever A few pictures from the build : I started by measuring the length, just to have an idea of what I ned to build SHIPtember 2016 Day 1: The beginning of the journey by Veynom, on Flickr Then I try transforming it into a strong backbone (with the handle, it has to be strong) SHIPtember 2016 Day 4: Assembling the backbone by Veynom, on Flickr After the first cargo area, I start the second, while testing the cladding technic. SHIPTEMBER going forward. by Veynom, on Flickr The idea of a double floor for the rear bay is born here .... simultaneously with my fear of not having enough plates to cover the entire surface. Ultimately, it was ok but I have no more black, dark blueish grey or green plates anymore. SHIPTember 2016 Day 27 by Veynom, on Flickr Almost finished .... on one side at least. The second side was still empty and panel-less. Mobquet Medium Transport by Veynom, on Flickr Mobquet Medium Transport by Veynom, on Flickr And a small image from the X-Wing Alliance game so that you may compare. I hope you enjoy it!

    [MOC] EFS Asimov

All right men, we’ve arrived. That strange thing looking like a comet is your new home and place of work for several months. No, that’s not a comet. That’s EFS Asimov, ore processing ship, and this dusty tail is a cloud of waste. We are getting closer and you can see how big this ship is. Do you see those claws and arms at the bottom? Now they are empty, but when Asimov sees some good asteroid full of iron nearby, she can crush and eat it herself. Now swarms of mining drones and transport ships are delivering ore to Asimov’s hangars. Yes, it looks like giant steel hive. See those spinning things? They are ore mills, crushing pieces of rock into dust. Then ore is separated from waste, enriched and prepared in other ways to become high quality steel. Can you see those four melting facilities? They are making steel plates, beams, tubes… all you want. And that is stored in those huge containers. Soon another cargo ship will take a couple of them. Hey, look at the engines. They are massive! If waste goes through their exhaust, it begins to glow. Now engines aren’t working, but you must see it! Let’s look at another side now. Yes, yes. That’s hydroponics. How many mining ships has it? But we have! You can take a rest after a long day in one of these little artificial gardens. We care about our employees. Anyway, we are going to dock, so our improvised excursion is over. [MOC] Persistence

"Persistence" - Exodus Fleet Mobile Construction Yard Persistence by o0ger, on Flickr Length: 105 studs Number of parts: not a clue This is where most vessels in the Exodus fleet are constructed and repaired. The mobile refinery supplies the construction yard with refined metal from nearby asteroids. Persistence - Details by o0ger, on Flickr Currently a batch of fighters are loaded up for testing in the main hangar. In the mid ship construction dock a new Attack Frigate is under construction. This is my SHIPtember SHIP for 2016. My goal was to use that big yellow Duplo part, and use some kind of lighting. The ship's interior is somewhat lit up by a EL-wire and the construction dock is lit by lifelites. Persistence - Side by o0ger, on Flickr

    [MOC] USAF Daedalus

My build for SHIPtember, USAF Daedalus from the TV show: Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis. 101 studs long plus the antenna. It contains LEDs that light up the bow, the engines, the fighter bays and the command centre. It weighs 8kg, but I'll do a swoosh pic (or maybe a video) soon.
