Once again, I just couldn't be more pleased with this year's Speed Champion sets. As some of you will recall, I've been widening the standard Speed Champion cars to be 8 studs wide. I just prefer the aesthetic, and now my drivers aren't centered in what is supposed to be a 2 or 4 seat car. 2016 cars http://www.eurobrick...opic=122188&hl= 2015 cars http://www.eurobrick...36#entry2154620 The Model A was a special case because while it surely wasn't the scale that would necessitate 8-stud width, I didn't think it needed to be 6 studs either, so I went with 5, which keeps it a small old hot rod size, but is still more to scale than the tiny 4-stud configuration that comes with the set. In addition to the change in width, I've done a lot of detail work, from the engine to the back of the car. I didn't change much on the Raptor but did add to the garage pit area. Hello! I would like to introduce my town and show you some photos... I have just decided on the name Brixton for the town and have made a few updates today, altho this is the first time i have posted it on the EB Forum. Anyway, without further ado, a couple of snaps! So there's a few pics, but there are more on my flikr stream so please check it out. Future updates will arrive, and i have a few MOCs/MODs in the pipeline as well as plan to have a railway all the way around the city, and tiling the road plates. Hi everyone I'd like to present my new modular police station, based on the 2014 city set 60047. I got one set for christmas, bought another one with a discount and made a couple of bricklink orders to complete the station (mostly bricks and plates, tiles for the floors, some mifigs and accessories). It was a fun project! Comments & suggestions welcome, thanks for looking! The garage has space for a patrol car, a van and also for the two police dogs, when they are not out catching bad guys. The transparent stair case leads up to the welcome desk. On the first floor, the patrolwoman on duty welcomes citizens and visitors. There's a small meeting room to the left and the desk of the police sergeant on duty. One floor up, the chief is practising for the press conference in the briefing room. There's also an office for the special ops guys, the command center and the chief's office. The holding floor has all the necessities for processing and locking up the bad guys. The cop could smile all he wanted, Fred still didn't trust him. "Holy cow! These police guys must have used up all the tax money for their shiny new headquarters!" Originals on Flickr.

My first time not mine MOC review. As fan of 4x4 cars I can't miss oportunity to build this MOC by Sheepo. It is not huge like other Fernando's MOC's. So I am in! I decided to do it with shortest and smallest version (I am lazy and busy simultaneously) - 90 inch version. I split my review to 5 parts - 5 separate videos with comments, close ups and so on, cons&pros. Turn on youtube subtitles - they are english! If you are busy to watch all 5 episodes, I advice you to watch the last - 5th epsiode. I will start from it right now. Epsiode 5. This shoud be in the end of the post, but I am afraid you can't go till the end. My vision of Defender: Ultimate offroad machine, well result is not ultimate, but at least looking like that (I hope). I have to solve some weak points of original MOC. Model lost some its pros: gearbox and realistic axles. I have to reinforce chassis and transmission for high load purpose and increased weight of detailed model. Unfortunately, cant make Land Rover unkillable as my Toyota FJ. But result is lovely, Defender will take its place on my "untoucable" shelve with mechanical MAP chassis. many photos of this version is here You shoud know, that MAP - is modular all-terrain platform. And all LR body verison based on this customizable modular chassis. Episode 1 is about chassis Then I have built Defender 90 body in yellow color. Almost STOCK. More photos. I have too much of this color, and construction machines - is not about me. So this LR is good oportunity to use all yellow parts for Camel Trophy style MOC. Episode 2 is about Defender body and small modifications I did with it. Episode 3 is about outdoor test drive. Then my viewers ask me to compare LR with its all-time real competitor - Toyota Land Cruiser. I have several ready to go Land Cruisers on my shelve. So, that was easy for me. The Star Wars expanded universe (Legends) offers a wide variety of inspiration for MOCs and MODs. Here are 2 simple MODs based on the excellent sets that are the #9492 TIE-Fighter and the #9495 Gold Leader's Y-Wing Starfighter. Take both of these sets, mix them with the rich Star Wars expanded universe, add an inch of colour, shake all along, and serve them hot. You get Uglies on the rock! Uglies by Veynom, on Flickr Uglies are un-registered spaceships assembled from scavenged parts and recycled modules of other ships. These part's origins range from battlefields, crashes, decommissioned vessels, military leftover and so on. Everything which can be reused will be reused, sometimes with luck, most of the time without. Uglies are mainly used by pirates, mercenaries and other para-miliraty organisations looking for cheap and untraceable ships. Uglies offer the advantages of being cheap to produce and are relatively easy to find on the black market. But those are the only advantages that one can find them. I have decided to build two of the most famous Uglies: the Y-TIE and the TYE-Wing. Y-TIE The Y-TIE is the improbable combination of a Y-Wing cockpit and body with the wings and ionic engines of a TIE-Ln. This model is quite common among uglies during the Galactic Empire's rule due to the numerous battles between Imperial forces and rebel fighters. The resulting surprising spacecraft is a heavy, slow, and barely manoeuvrable ship offering good resistance and impressive firepower. This very lightly armoured fighter also benefits from a very light armament. The DIE-Wing succeeds in combining the worst of bith the TIE-Ln and the Y-Wing with the added challenge of avoiding all of their advantages. This is no surprise how it came to get his nickname. [MOC/MOD] Self-loading Logging Truck (set 9397)

Back in 2012 set 9397 Logging Truck was released. It was a nice set and I bought it to motorize. But looking on the internet for real self-loading logging trucks I more and more started to want to make this set as a base for a more scale model look. So I made the truck wider from 15 studs to 17 with is more in scale with that type of tire. Eventually I designed a complete new truck based on the set, but looking more like an original US Logging Truck and fully remote controlled. Due to free time and not completely satisfied about the video material I never got to making a video. The video material was shot by a well known Dutch Technic master Mahj On July 2012 We went to a nearby forest to find a good place for shooting the video material with a nice backdrop. Yesterday I went to mahj to help me with getting to know the new video editing software Mahj already has good experience with. And here is the finished result. Function: 2 M-motors for drive M-motor for steering M-motor for switching between two functions M-motor for moving the second steering axle / moving the crane arm back / forward M-motor for moving the outriggers / moving the boom up / down M-motor for turning the crane Micro motor for rotating the claw Micro motor for opening en closing the claw Because I wanted the crane to move freely I decided to place the control of the 2 micro motors in the crane it self, place the battery pack and receiver on the crane. This so the wires couldn't get entangled with the gears. I have found a basic sketch of how all the gears, axles and motors are connected in the small chassis. I will make a LDD drawing of this and post this soon. -
When I am taking a break I sometimes mod my models. This little post is what happened the last time I needed to take a break. I was building my latest moc and was about halfway done. In the morning had gotten a big shipment of the dgb plates I needed to move on and I was content with the progress I had made that day. The sun was shining and birds were singing. Well, it was early March and there were very few birds to be found anywhere - but I imagine I could hear them sing. Suddenly the imaginary birds went silent. Something on the model was not lining up as expected. I took a second look. Nope. It was not correct. I had messed up. Badly. I knew what I had to do. I needed to take most of the model apart and a long with it the last couple of days of work. I felt the frustration surging through my veins (if this story ever turns into a movie, I would like to be played the Rock. I imagine he has the acting skills to play a frustrated Lego builder). I stood up (a bit too fast so I got dizzy and had to sit down again). I was sitting down. Pondering. I really did not feel for taking the model apart. If only there were something I could do to help me push off the inevitable – just for a bit. I stood up (this time slowly). I looked around my Lego filled room. The models were getting dusty. I took my brush and went to work, cleaning the models. The radar dish on the falcon always falls off when dusting, but not today. Maybe it was a sign? I continued. I knocked over the Y-wing. It had not been a sign… Then I got to the Star Destroyer. The command tower had a thick layer of dust. I took the model down so I could give it a good cleaning. I got to the back. Saw the engines covered in cobwebs (well not cobwebs exactly, but it sounds more dramatic than ‘more dust’, so bear with me). I glanced at my old engine mod. Hmm, it could be better. I had had fun making it, but I hadn’t been concerned with the finer details. Well, now I had the time… The mod was pretty straightforward. It is just about putting bricks on top of bricks. Nothing was taken a part - that would diminish the purpose of relaxing :) I wanted to get the sloping engine housings as correct as possible along with all the piping. The remnants of the old mod can be seen behind the engines. How the detailing exactly look back there I am not 100% certain, but this gives a nice affect of depth. Yes, I have used a lot of lbg levers. I was lucky I had a small stash because they are pricey! This time the tables have turned! With the assitance of an Escort Frigate, the Corellian Corvette is hunting down the behemoth Imperial Star Destroyer – yes they are all both exactly to scale :) ISD 1600m. Frigate 300m. Corvette 150m. The Corvette is a modified version of the mini model Lego released a few years ago. The Frigate is what happened when I accidentally shot my Nebulon B with a shrink ray! After this, I could go back and take my moc apart.

I thought the 6-seat Palace Cinema auditorium was a little small, so I built a bigger one! [ Now updated with pics of the complete set:] One minor change to the exterior: I removed the wedge plates under the Wu-clock and ran the snot pillars all the way up. Nice and smooth. As you can see from the posters in the lobby - it's 70's night at the Palace. The concessions stand had to go but at least there's a restroom now: The seats are filling up fast. When I saw the first pictures of this set, I knew I would mod it some day. One year later, with the release of the Brick Bank, everything became clear for me. So, since I already have my own bank, I will transform the Brick Bank into a police station. For that, the laundry had to make place. And because the barber moved to another building in town... Can Any one help me mod my 8098 Clone Turbo Tank (Clone Wars)

So can any one give me some ideas of what I should do to modify my set. I would like to keep some what the way it is as it is modeled after the version seen in season 2 of star Wars the Clone Wars Holocron Heist. It would also be nice if they could be done medium to minimal requirement of pieces as I would be using the spare pieces I have already not going to go and buy new pieces just to mod it. I never had the time to properly shoot my TIE-Interceptor MOD. Now that Imperial Justice has ruled, I can show you this relatively easy MOD based on the 9492 TIE-Fighter set. 42029 MOD w/Power Functions

So i finally got the new 917 919 set, and being a huge fan of the 917 i knew i'd have to mod it to make me completely happy but i didn't realize just how much it would need it. below are 2 pictures top one is mine in front of an unmodified 919 (its 3 plates taller than my 917!) the second is a borrowed image of a standard Lego 917. the drop was achieved by 2 things primarily, first i lowered the canopy down 1 plate, and the second was switching to smaller tires/rims this took off a second plate (it was already 1 plate lower than the 919) there were also numorus less obvious changes inside and out to achieve the end result. My Modified 917 Lego's 917 Front View, showing narrowed front opening and reshaped nose. also the one downside to the older fender, the gap rear of the front bricks Rear View, here you can see i added some greebling to fill out the space better, also the tail lights were removed as the were just way to big on the standard car. If you look close here you can see through the canopy to the driver, he is leaned back a very long ways to fit, and this was a trick. the driver sits so far forward in the real car that the minifig legs should actually be placed where the wheel hubs are located. so the standared chassis has been thrown aside to move the driver cavity forward as far as it could go. also if the helmet is removed he can sit quite a ways up further. simple side by side, you can see quite a noticeable height difference between the 2 cars. So there you have it a still speed champion styled Porsche 917 but much better wheels height and shaping in my opionion, feel free to comment, suggest, or anything. and Thanks for looking!

But, I'd love to hear what y'all think and your thoughts on how I can make this better. Mainly, I'm struggling with the weight and sturdiness of the wings. I'm also not happy with the front section's slope or the gaps in the front of the engine. Regardless, I hope y'all like it and kudos to thehornedrat for beating me to the punch

As much as I like the Gorilla Buster, I didn't like the open top aspect of it, so decided to modify it and add a canopy. I also didn't like the cannons on the front so I removed them (and turned them into ears)

And... done. Finally finished the hospital and that is all I will upgrade for now, next step is the interiors and modding the green grocer to be playable from the back... which I will leave myself some time for. Hello All, And here is the second upgrade to my town set, the fire station. Police station can be found here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=122523 So, once again the problem: (town sets don't really match the look of the new modular buildings) The plan! And the results: again from front From the back (this one I spent a bit more time on the interior as the fire station is the favorite of my son. And finally a zoom in on the living quarters: So there you go, one more left. Anyone else undertaking similar upgrades to their town sets?

Hello All, So I have gotten back into Lego thanks to the gorgeous modular buildings and have found an issue regarding my older town sets not exactly..., fitting in? So I thought... time for an upgrade. So here we see the issue at hand: Not very consistent for my tastes at least. So here was the plan: And here are the results: Another: Another: And one from the back... now I still have to do the interior and I like the back-open style play so kept that (I will mod my modulars to be back-open play as well) Also need to reinforce one of the floor elements... but the idea is there. Well there you go.

Okay, so this is what I started with. One set was well enough for the 2-storey version, but I ended up getting an extra set and building a third floor. It's still a WIP, though. The window decorations are not completed; I'm waiting for a PAB order and after that, I still need some tan cheeses. The ground floor storefront is empty (or nearly empty, I've temporarily put the 31036 minibuilds there). It will ultimately be a bags & accesories store. The chewing gum machine will remain, though. From the side, you can see that the sand green facade is sort of a charade, all the other walls are white on the ground floor as well. I'm quite satisfied with the backside. The ground floor is a little plain since I want to use the back wall of the store for shelves. The second floow interior is borrowed from Olivia's house 3315. There's room for the huge TV, the sofa and some lamps on the wall. The small stand by the stairs is a 31036 original design. Sadly no room for a refigerator in the open kitchen. The bedroom is on the third floor. All the furniture is from Olivia's house 3315 except for the lamp, which is from 3136, where it featured as a (very small) street lamp. The two grey flat 1x1 round tiles will be removed after I receive one more tan grille 1x2.

When I saw the preliminary pictures of the new TIE Advanced vs A Wing, I was very excited for the new TIE, and not so happy that the A wing made the price substantially higher. I might still cave in and but the set when it comes out, but for now, here's mine. You can find more pictures on my Flickr page. Leave a comment on what can be changed or improved.
