  6. Hello! I'm Hank, from Florida. I mostly collect Star Wars, but I'm working towards collection all the LotR/Hobbit sets. I have all the alien conquest sets, and I've dabbled in collecting Monster Fighters, City, Pirates, and the LEGO movie, but in general I limit myself to Star Wars. According to Brickset, I have 304 sets, 936 minifigures, and 81734 pieces. I'm no expert at MOC-ing, but I've tried my hand at it before and built a TIE Interdictor. (You can see an LDD picture here, but I also built it physically.) It's not perfect, but it's much better than I expected for a first attempt. Sadly, I'm generally too busy to get much of a chance to design things. Outside of the LEGO world, I'm a big fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Tolkien, and other such franchises. I'm a student. I only collect post-2005 LEGO Star Wars sets, as the earlier ones look awful to me (and no one wants licensed yellow figures). My goal (which is unlikely to ever be realized) is to collect a minifigure-scale set of every distinct vehicle/building ever released. To reduce the number of sets this entails and make things easier on my wallet, I am somewhat selective. For example, I only need one version of the Millennium Falcon (much as I'd like more). Also, some vehicles simply aren't unique. I feel I don't need to get every single Jedi Starfighter, as they are pretty much the same, except in different colors and with minor improvements as the years go by. I do try to get every unique (flesh-colored) character, but I don't bother with different versions of the same character. I'm a purist for the most part. I don't add custom decals to sets, paint bricks, or buy brickarms. When I make a custom minifigure, I use official LEGO bricks in their original form. I'm pretty excited for Star Wars Episode VII and the sets that will accompany it.
  7. When I saw the preliminary pictures of the new TIE Advanced vs A Wing, I was very excited for the new TIE, and not so happy that the A wing made the price substantially higher. I might still cave in and but the set when it comes out, but for now, here's mine. You can find more pictures on my Flickr page. Leave a comment on what can be changed or improved.

    [MOC] Sawblade Speederbike

"Whatever I cannot catch on foot, I will seize with the Sawblade." - Darth Cil Ah, finally, more time for MOCs! After seeing Bob's speeder, I just knew I had to make my dream of a single-column speeder be a reality! It's also heavily influenced by Darth Maul's Bloodfin, and I tried making it the slimmest I could Darth Cil is quite fond of the Sawblade, as he is with all fast traveling crafts.
  9. We are running the Star Wars Olympics now at our german forum Imperium der Steine, this is my entry to the second round. This time my task was to build something with just 4x4 studs on ground, but at least 20 bricks high. I have choosen the most popular scene from Star Wars ever. The legendary Bespin Duel, when Vader tells Luke that he is his father. The scene itself stands balanced on just the 4x4 rounded tube. Greets Disco

    ISP-6 Imperial Shuttle Pod

Up next in my series of Kenner Mini-Rigs from the 80's, is the ISP-6, Imperial Shuttle Pod. This is basically a mini version of the Imperial Shuttle seen in Return of the Jedi. The ISP-6 Imperial Shuttle Pod, was a small air/space vehicle used by the Imperial forces. A single-seat vehicle with a tri-wing configuration reminiscent of the larger Lambda-class shuttle, the ISP-6 was probably designed by Sienar Fleet Systems or Cygnus Spaceworks. It was a fast, compact transport, designed to be deployed from larger shuttles, and it was armed with two defensive blaster cannons for operations in combat zones. It also possessed a rear-view mirror to spot Rebel fighters from behind. After building is and getting the proportions about right, I looked and there was enough room for Vader as well as some cargo. I put a passage behind him, but, that may change when I build this early next year. Then again, I may have an Imperial Pilot fly this and have Vader kick back and relax while he does all the work. Going back to my MLC-3. The proportion of Lego mini-figs and Kenner Star Wars figures is way different. This design may fit an old Kenner fig, but, it's Lego so I may go with 2 figs in it. Wings up, landing gear down. Roomy?! There are 2 hinges on the top canopy, to access the whole interior of the ship. Wings fold up and down. Landing gear doesn't fit in the ship, it's too small of a build, they need to be taken when swooshing this around. I'm not completely happy with the nose. I may work on this later, but, I like it and think it fits in with the rest of the Kenner Mini-Rigs, thus far. I attacked the file to this if anybody would like to look at it or try to build this. This model is the second largest Mini-Rig I built, with 332 pieces in it. The MTV-7, has the highest pieces count, the MTV-7, Multi Terrain Vehicle will be posted tomorrow. Thanks for looking, Jamie 9 - EU - Mini Rig - ISP-6 - Imperial Shuttle Pod.lxf
  11. Darth Revan, probably one of the most (if not THE most) famous and beloved characters in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. For those of you who are not familiar with the EU, Revan first appeared in the hit role-playing video game Knights of the Old Republic (KotOR) released in 2003. Acclaimed by both the critics and the fans, KotOR is still to this day considered as one of the best Star Wars video games ever made. Unfortunately it is quite difficult to talk about this character without revealing too many spoilers, so let's just say Revan and his friend Alek were Jedi and war heroes during the Mandalorian Wars (between 3976 and 3964 before the Battle of Yavin). After the defeat of the Mandalorians during the Battle of Malachor V, Revan and Alek pursued the surviving enemy vessels into the unknown regions of the galaxy and disappeared. When they came back a year later, they were leading the forces of the Sith Empire as Darth Revan and Darth Malak... If you want to know more about this character, I suggest you watch this video (watch out, it contains spoilers) or simply play the game... Following the 2013 Hoth Han Solo minifig, this year's May the 4th promotional polybag is most definitely a great and surprising choice from LEGO. Basic Information • Set name: Darth Revan • Set number: 5002123 • Ages: 6+ • Number of pieces: 7 • Minifigs: 1 • Theme: Star Wars / Expanded Universe (EU) • Price: Free (offered as part of the "May the 4th" promotion with every LEGO Star Wars purchase of at least 55€/75$ between 28/04 and 04/05/14) • Year released: 2014 The Review The polybag Let's first take a look at the polybag itself. The front features the same logo design as the regular 2014 movie sets. If I'm not mistaken, the background in front of which Revan appears is based on the corridors of the Invisible Hand, the separatist command ship from Episode III. There isn't much to see on the back aside from some multilingual words of caution and a picture of the minifig's actual size. Unlike some of the older polybags, the back isn't translucent, which makes it impossible to see any of the pieces it contains. 1 par Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr Here it is now compared to an older polybag. As you can see, Revan's bag is slightly bigger although the difference is barely noticeable. However, due to the small amount of pieces it contains, the polybag does look quite large and feels a little empty. 2 par Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr The minifig The bag only contains 7 pieces. Unlike those found in bigger sets, the cape is not protected by the usual little cardboard box. As you also probably have noticed, the parts are made of Chinese plastic (which is pretty much the norm now for the polybags). The minifigs comes with one single accessory: a regular red lightsaber with a silver hilt. 3 par Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr There is no printing on the back of the head (which is normal since Revan never reveals his face) but there's also no backprinting on the minifigure's torso. Even though some details on the back would have been nice, I suppose it is not really a big deal considering he always wears a cape. 4 par Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr And here's a nice look at the complete minifigure in all its glory... Revan definitely looks better in person than on all the other pics I've seen. The details on his torso look fantastic. 5 par Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr 6 par Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr The fallen Jedi next to other Sith lords of the Old Republic era. Definitely a nice addition to any EU/KotOR/TOR fan's collection. 7 par Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr And errr... well this is for those of you who always wondered what's behind the mask... 8 par Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr 9 par Elrond Half-elven, sur Flickr Ratings Let's admit it, rating this polybag isn't easy. You can't really evaluate the quality of the build or its price. I also imagine your opinion on this minifigure will probably depend on whether or not you enjoy the EU, and more precisely the Old Republic era. If you don't, I can understand why you can't find anything exciting about this figure, unless you plan on using some of the parts for a MOC minifig... or unless you want to sell it. For those of us who do enjoy it however, this exclusive minifig appears as a unique opportunity to get a LEGO representation of a fan-favourite character. This is probably the only chance we'll have to get a Darth Revan minifigure (unless Disney decides to adapt KotOR at some point but for now this seems rather unlikely) and I believe those who like the character should seize that opportunity. The minifig is nothing special as far as parts are concerned. It doesn't have any special or new fancy armour piece like Malgus but it still looks great nonetheless. I'd give it a 8/10, the only real disappointment being the lack of backprinting.
