It's been a while since I built and posted a modular building, and this post will be another exception. Still not a modular building, but at least it's a house. I've been busy with life, and a little bit fed up with the same design (or very similar) with my modular buildings, so I had a break and ventured to build other themes. Nevertheless, my luck changed and my building block was overcome when I got this old raised baseplate from Poolside Paradise. I never had Paradisa sets as a child, but I liked the plate anyway and wanted to put it to good use. Since the building space is very limited, this is what I came up with. My idea was to hide the odd light green baseplate color, but leave the stone pattern of the driveway. This is why I covered the pool area with tiles representing wooden patio, and the surrounding of the raised baseplate with LBG ingots representing stones. In addition to this raised baseplate, I got several other old bricks and pieces over the last few months, and the idea was to incorporate as much as possible of them. I used the old palm tree trunks and a few pink plates around the house. Other than that I wanted a clean design with a chance to see the interior details when exhibited. In light of a tribute to Paradisa theme, I used pink and purple shades as an accent throughout the building. The ground floor is a kitchen and dining area with seating for two since it's a very small floor plan. The chrome silver cup is another old part, from the Belville series. The kitchen working space is small, there are a stove and oven, a sink, some cabinets, and a fridge. I added a green plant to live up the room a bit. The best part of this floor is, in my opinion at least, the view of the flowers, palm trees, and the pool. The parts for the palm tree trunk are not as sturdy as I expected, that's the reason the palm trees are so flexed. Nevertheless, they provide excellent shade for lounging by the pool. On the second floor, there's a bedroom with a side table and some bookshelves. Since I love to read, I want to add a touch of that to all my buildings. Color-sorted books is another thing I do at home, too. The bed has a large headboard design, with a print from the Friends Heartlake Grand Hotel. The chair and some books on this floor are from the recently acquired collection of old parts in pink. On the top floor, there's a reading nook with a comfortable chair and more bookshelves. The sliding doors open to the small terrace, where the owner keeps one of her larger plants and used the terrace as her favorite place to do some yoga or pilates early in the morning. All in all, I'm happy with the finished villa, and the hints to three different LEGO themes designed primarily for girls. While I'm not a huge fan of these themes as such, I'm excited with many of the parts these themes introduced. Celebrate the historic neoclassic home of one of America’s most famous Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson! Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello home began construction in 1768, when he was only 26 years old. America’s third president was never fully satisfied with his design, and the house was continually redesigned throughout his lifetime - not so unlike Lego fanatics constantly reworking their own builds. This microscale Monticello has been meticulously and faithfully rendered to capture the unmistakable appearance of the iconic building, known to all Americans as “that building on the back of the nickel coin.” The 930-piece set would appeal to lovers of Lego’s Architecture series, and would also contain highly sought after dark red pieces that have never before been produced. The design could also be scaled down to remove the some of the landscaping (the house by itself contains under 650 pieces). The concert's on, come have a listen! Disco 2000 Vinyl Store is my (I think) ninth modular and the closure of the A Summer in Tuscany - Klee Corner - Disco 2000 trilogy. I was dying to do a new corner building, mainly for three reasons: First, Lego's doing one this year, so I figured... why not? Second, because I hadn't done a pure 32x32 corner building since Sweets & Co., almost a year and a half ago! And third, because I wanted to. Without further ado.... It may not be apparent at first glance, but this modular has easily been the most time-costing and hardest modular to build. The ground floor was built up fairly quickly between May and June 2018, but creating something worthy on top is what took me all summer to figure out. So the model began on steady wheels. The brightly-coloured "boxes" on the ground floor take direct inspiration from both my own Klee Corner (the pizzeria had a similar idea) and the London Undergound. In fact, the dark red ground floor used to be an entrance to an undergound station that was closed down some years ago that has now been transformed into a state-of-the-art vinyl store. The dark red ground floor is almost a copy of those entrances that can be found in the Tube's Northern Line, covered in those beautiful blood-coloured tiles. Even in my Lego interpretation, I was able to add the beautiful sand blue lights. Outside there's a sign, "Disco 2000", it says. The old-fashined font and style of the sign is totally on purpose. Wait, there's people singing and dancing on the street... A paparazzi on the roof of the dark green glass box... Is he famous or something? Both the white windows of the tube entrance and the dark green windows are lying on their sides. In the case of the green ones, it's not quite so obvious, so it's pretty cool. There's some albums outside, which (if you can guess which they are you're a real god), but I'll talk about architecture first. The Architecture: Architecturally speaking, this model is very interesting. Just like in Klee Corner, this has three different buildings onto a single baseplate. The advantage being, of course, that I have two full façades to split them up. The final building is almost colour-coded. Every part of the build has a colour associated to it. The central and most important part of the building, kind of the "eye" of the building, is constructed using a similar method to the one I used for the façade of the lounge on Klee Corner, only this time using a 2-stud-wide pillar going up rather than a 1-stud-wide one. There were so many different iterations for the central part, even one being sort of a peacock-coloured flimsy spaghetti (maybe at building 8 out of the 15 built). I got that bug of wanting this building to do so many things at the same time that I had to chop down things that I'd done which no longer fitted the image I chased. The final result is way simpler than some previous ones and has a lovely Belle Epoque feel to it. This final iteration is inspired by the gorgeous entrances of the Paris Metro (metro entrance over underground entrance, that's kind of hilarious ). I retook one iteration of Klee Corner for the shape of the roof, so it has a perfect triangular balance with the two side pieces. The Iron Horse+Klee Corner+Paris Metro, I think the result's pretty cool! I had already done the first render when I realised the façade needed some more dynamism. Initially, the windows were totally aligned. I then changed that static feel by breaking the lines and making them follow the curvature of the escaling roof. I love the double curve that the escalating windows and the curvature of the building itself have. creator saying stupid stuff. The brown building on the right scared me a little bit, as I'd never been able to pull off a good dark building, brown, for instance. Dark Orange, when rendered in Pov-Ray, though has this chocolate colour which is just delightful. In fact, this side building was not part of the plan first, as a whole building covered the whole "London undergound" ground floor. Then, for quite a while I had a cool texture for a brick wall that was just six studs wide which helped me figure out the measurements for the central building. That idea stuck, but in the end, due to the central building being shrinked, this brown building grew. I gave it some windows inspired by those of a school that I walk past every day and the greatest of rooflines. You really have to look at this: there's pieces looking in four different directions. The right way up, upside down and to both sides! The white/blue/yellow building on the left has a bit less of a tumultuous story to it. It began as a version of the Met Breuer, as the central building was to be something along the lines of a Gehry work. Once I'd settled for a much more colourful design on the other two buildings (after a looooong while), that grey thing looked as terrible as a stain on a red dress. Therefore, I reused on of the ideas for the central building for this side one, adapted some earlier window designs, changed the colours, added the sign, and voilà! There it is! The Interiors: Cross the gates to the awesomeness of the world of music. Because this was done in LDD, I couldn't build those racks full of vinyls, so instead I covered an entire wall of the best-selling vinyls. Note: All the covers are Lego interpretations of real albums! In fact, there's the entire discographies of two bands! Have a guess! The pattern on the floor, funnily enough comes from a "Where's Wally?" book which had a similar one. There's turntables and hanging vinyls on the window shop. On the opposite side, there's a nice Dalí-inspired coach with... again the same special guest!? Now, that can't be a coincidence, can it? The floor above has a magnificent concert stage for artists to play. I really like the atmosphere I captured in this area. I can easily imagine a songwriter playing his/her songs on that stage, as the city lights shine bright behind the sand green building. There's a small bar for guests to take a drink as the concert's on. The room's, though, not big enough for all the audience, so some of those left outside have to climb outside the window and listen from there. Be careful! The interior is built in a Brick Bank kind of way, all the different buildings share one same interior. Finally, the top floor is... A music shop! Couldn't be anything else, could it? 1 Assembly Square can start to tremble as there's a new neighbour next doors with much better instruments and at a better price. The widest range of guitars in all the imaginable colours and shapes, keyboards, amps, synths, drums and pianos. They say the owner of the Magic Shop built this drum kit and his grandchildren have put it on sale. They also say that both pianos, those of Magic Shop and Klee Corner were bought here and that's why they don't have one on stock right now. This drum kit, they say, is so loud that it was able to distort time and make the owner of Magic Shop live over 170 years. Maybe it was his potions what kept him alive. Again, who's that guy? He's everywhere! One Last Image: Disco 2000 Vinyl Store, surrounded by its two new friends, A Summer in Tuscany and Klee Corner. I think that Disco 2000 may even look better surrounded by other models than alone, unlike the other two, which definitely look better alone. Hope you like this modular! Pau

While it was common for the families of Mitgardia to send their sons to the northern tribes after their twelfth summer, only the children of the Burial Isle were sent out regularly before they came of age to become accustomed to the wilds. Makny had learned from his father when he was only seven how to fish the streams, trap small animals, and build shelters and fires to keep him warm through the cold nights. One of his favorite things to do after a long autumn harvest and many days in the hustle and dust of the storehouses was to take his horse into the hills and be alone. Makny liked to make camp beneath one of the great black-barked trees that grew on the high hills, deep inland. They had broad branches that kept off much of the rain and snow, and were usually found near some of the strange ruins that dotted the Burial Isle. Makny enjoyed spending his evenings - after building his lean-to, unsaddling his horse, and lighting his fire - contemplating the ancient stone structures and the people who might have built them. I've been sitting on this, waiting for a sufficiently overcast day to photograph it and enough free time to post. C&C welcome as always!

This model started out as a simple sketch, and I wanted to see if I could built a fully completed LEGO version of it, and here it is! The Forestside house, as the name suggest, is supposed to be located in the forest, highlighted by the trees in the background. On the exterior, there is a swimming pool, garage, driveway, and some nice glass fencing. The house itself, has got a balcony, a rooftop lounge, and some nice big windows for a scenic view. The interior is also fully detailed with a living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom, study, and a bedroom. Overall this model took me about 2 month to create, and I hope you enjoy it!

I came up with the basic idea for this wall technique, and figured I should make a full building to see if it worked. Various builders like Simon NH, ~Cab~, and Marcel V. have used similar wall techniques before, though my execution is slightly different than theirs. The cobblestone street also uses an idea that has been implemented many times before – free floating pieces. There is a tutorial available on the wall and one for the cobblestone technique for this build will be posted in the future. It was fun to make another highly detailed building with full interior. Gardar has a fine cloth shop in Harburg, and supplies Lord Karsten with any fabrics needed for use at the castle. Today Eryl and Elise are paying for another order of textiles, and they enjoy chatting with the old merchant. "And father would like three more rolls of red wool for his troops' uniforms," Eryl stated as Elise looked around at the various fabrics on display. Sometimes Eryl was annoyed by being required to run errands for his parents, but a visit to Gardar's shop always meant fun as the old merchant was a kind man who well remembered what it was like being a young boy. Gardar replied with a cheerful smile that was all but invisible under his thick beard, "Certainly Eryl! Are you sure he doesn't want some extra cloth to make a proper uniform for you though?" "Maybe another time Gardar, Father says I'll beginning proper weapons training before long! But for today we just need those three rolls" "Well, I'm sure you'll be getting plenty of fine uniforms then. Just don't be too hard on your instructors, they're not as young as you are." Eryl laughed and said, "I'll try not to beat them up too bad," as he shared a conspiratorial wink with the merchant while giving him two coins as payment for the goods.. Just realized I haven't posted a film here in a while. Might as well change that! A Stormtrooper gets into a little trouble... My first attempt at melding live action and stop-motion animation. It was made for a compilation of funny videos that had a tight deadline, and so is a bit rushed. However, I hope you enjoy it anyway.

I enjoy building in the Dwarven style, and have made a fair amount of Dwarven scenes over the years, but not any recently. Which made it a great time to experiment with another building. I also got back into the habit of including full interiors. The corner pillar design is a modified version of a technique used in the Disney Castle. Eryl has many friends in Harburg, but one of his closest companions is Danyel: the son of a Dwarven merchant. Despite being nearly the same age as Eryl, Danyel already shows signs of having a fine Dwarven beard in the years to come. When they have some free time, the two boys enjoy exploring the forests and mountains around Harburg or playing mischievous pranks. It must be admitted that most of the latter are Eryl's ideas, and he can just about always convince Danyel to help him carry out his tricks. See more pictures on Brickbuilt. Winter Village: Uni-kitty is com-ing, to town! As I was starting this build Unikitty came along and screamed, "That's MY house!!!" From that point on I felt like a snowball rolling down a hill. So, she moved in, added a dance floor, decorated for the holidays (Unikitty style), then threw a 'Welcome to my New Home' party. She couldn't wait to try out ice skating. While others from the North Pole and Winter Village are visiting, poor Larry is working again this year, this time DJing. In the living room, Unikitty has hung up her stocking. While on the top floor, she put in a dance floor, complete with disco ball. Inside visitors enjoy the treats Unikitty has laid out, while warming themselves at the fire. Only kids and Unikitty see nothing strange about ice cream in winter. Unikitty's 'Welcome to my New House' party

This was one of my small contributions to the Guilds of Historica display at Brickworld 2018. Kevin had extra space on his island, so I built this and one other house to fit in an Avalonian setting. We had some lights left over after making our realm for the Tree of Worlds, which allowed me to throw some inside this house to light the stained glass windows. Despite the plentiful timber in Avalonia, stone is a common material choice for the more expensive homes. Klee Corner Hello guys and welcome to “Klee Corner”, (technically) my eighth modular building, packing a whopping 4480 pieces. Coming from “A Summer in Tuscany”, with its bright yellow and orange colours screaming “look at me”, its follow-up had to do something entirely different. Therefore, instead of a 48×32 baseplate, I chose the classic 32×32 (hadn't done a 32×32 modular since Sweets & Co., over a year ago!) and decided to cram it with details to (near) insanity levels. Without further ado… Klee Corner marks many personal “firsts” in my modular history: First model with three buildings (plus on a single 32x32 baseplate), first curved façade, first alleyway that crosses an entire model through and first building narrower than 8 studs. I'll walk you through my model in a little extra detail. This model packs a big number of colours in the Lego inventory 29 out of 41 solid colours and 11 out of 15 transparent colours, making a total of 40 different colours! The Blue and Curved Buildings: This is the narrowest house I've ever built, at just 6 studs wide! Inevitably, it is difficult for it to have a prominent silhouette to mark a staple in the skyline, but it definitely helps to add variety to an otherwise rather monotonous skyline. As it is skinnier, I placed it further in front of the composition, to make it draw a little more attention. The inspiration for this building comes mostly from Bilbao, a city in the Basque Country, north of the Iberian Peninsula, where they've placed bold metal boxes, full of windows to modernise the old city centre. Wonder where the name “Klee Corner” comes from? From Paul Klee, of course, the famous Swiss painter. His and many other artist's interpretation of the world lend themselves right here. It's quite funny, as the ground floor for this (the red box) remains from the first sessions of building, but the top part has had close to ten different iterations. The last one is absolutely perfect and does everything I hoped it would. Interior-wise, these two buildings work together, as I didn't think possible any way of making the curved façade actually modular (detachable and duplicable). This creative decision makes the two share all five interiors. Bottom Floor: The metal-enclosed box is similar to one to be found in “The Little Owl Restaurant”, in New York City. In such bold ground floor, there could be nothing less than a bustling pizzeria! Overlook Magic Shop – or any building, as in modular land, everything's possible! - through the windowed section as you wait for your pizza to come. The tiling is particularly interesting, and I managed to sneak details such as plants, drawers, napkin servers and overhanging lights. Middle Floor: The middle floor and top floors can be accessed through the white door next to the red box (the blue building's door, per say). These two floors encompass a night lounge bar only for select ABS humanoids to go. Drinks are served in weirdly-coloured bottles, as light comes through in shades of orange and yellow through the windows. Top Floor: In the most intimate nights, the piano is an element that needs to be present. Its sinuous curves invite all clients to walk up the spiral staircase to hear the pianist magically craft long chord progressions and fugacious staccatos. The Brownish/Reddish/Greenish/Yellowish Buildings Yes, the easiest name to remember, right!? The façade of this building tries to improve Detective's Office’s (I'll leave that to your judgement) blue building, adding it extra texture, colours and (hopefully) life. Bottom Floor: Houses the oldest pharmacy in town dating as far back as 1932. It even preserves the old tile mosaic on its outer façade and the tenths of glass bottles in which they kept serums and medicines. They say Ole Kirk Kristiansen used to shop for medicine here. I love the flooring here, by the way. Middle and Top Floors: Ever wondered where they made ordinary object before our world became a disposable polluted sphere? One of the practically lost jobs was making and selling umbrellas, and my little modular town couldn't go without one, could it? Due to the way the walls are built (extremely parts heavy, by the way! This building has more pieces than the other two together!), the interior is very crammed and doesn't allow for much detail, but it nevertheless is a cool little area. Hi Folks, I recently finished my 1st MOC ever and would like to present it here. I hope there are some of you who still enjoy looking at walls in strange angles :-) The cartoony style is done by purpose and I didn't aim for realism. The Front - Fantasy medieval like house front - Lego MOC by Ralf Langer, auf Flickr It features some twisted, huge trees, discoloured bricks and taxing techniques. I'm so glad it is finally finished. It was a little bit to tall for a first MOC. I even planed to build a hill as a socket and a forest, too. But I totally underestimated size and weight. I tried to do it mostly by myself without looking at other MOCs and so It took me ages to fiddle out all thouse angles and techniques. So, I've attempted my first Modular. I was limited by the bricks I have, (and a couple of bricks seem to have somehow fallen off), but it's the right dimensions to fit alongside the official Modular Buildings. Just wondering what thoughts/advice people may have to help me improve my modular building skills? So, here's the house And the people and animals who live there There's an open plan living area on the ground floor With a kitchen area A downstairs WC & a place to sit Going up the stairs, we reach the bedroom area There's an en suite shower & a balcony with Jaccuzzi From there, we can access the roof terrace Where the minifigures like to hold barbecue parties I used transparent coloured bricks where appropriate to let in light but retain privacy

My 5th entry for the Colossal Castle Contest, into the Village Life category. Credit for the pine tree design goes to Chris Maddison, who recently shared his design in a tutorial here. The build fits on a 48×48 baseplate, and three of the buildings have interiors (pull out rooms). Daydelon has plenty of excellent shops to meet your various needs. Brianna’s Bakery, Tryggr’s Supplies, and the Toy Shop are all located on the first stretch of the main street. Even in the winter the city keeps bustling, with the frozen river providing a great place for children to skate and the snow covered streets still see plenty of traffic from dog sleds and others. 41037 Stephanie's Beach House was a Friends set from 2014. I've modded the building in order to have a full interior by using two of them back to back. This is a WIP and I'll update when I have more to it.

Based on visits to derelict buildings; not based on any building in particular.

Originally, 4996 Beach House didn't have a back to it, although I did like the design of it. I've modded the building in order to have a full interior by expanding behind it. This is a WIP and I'll update when I have more to it. I'm planning on a living room with a fire place, kitchen/dining room, and bathroom on the first floor with two bedrooms on the second floor. There will possibly be an attic space above - haven't worked that detail out yet.

These next Twenty-plus models are all built in the style of CREATOR set 31206, (Bike Shop & Cafe) with each having either removable floors or open on a hinge and snap closed with a Technic Pin. Pizzeria Inspired by the B model from set 31026, (Bike Shop & Cafe) this building was originally going to be hotel but turned into a pizza parlor with an outside staircase and delivery van. This model features seven seats spread out over two floors. It also features a pizza oven and counter with cash register. There is also as ladder to the roof with access hatch. This van is a modified version of what is in set 79104 (The Shellraiser Street Street Chase). It features two rear doors and two side doors, plus the roof sign with pizza. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1407259993m.lxf Modern bank This is an update to my previous version of this bank. It features Light Bluish Gray instead of Dark Blue to keep costs down. I have also added a armored vehicle. The rear contains stairs to the upper level, and a expanded Vault on the second story. Also, the skylight has been moved to the rear roof and it does not open anymore. The front contains nearly the same components as the original set. The first floor has a non-break-away ATM , desk, waiting area, and sorting tray for packages, while the second story contains the entrance to the bank vault. This modified Armored Truck goes with the Modern Bank. LDD file: (to be added) Benny's Spaceship Shop! (In his spare time Benny operates a store selling custom LEGO space kits. He also lives in the shop on the second floor.) This was originally was the Pizza shop in set 7641, City Corner. (re-released as set 60031 last year) I added a back based on the Bicycle shop from set 31026, and put in a hinge system with a Technic pin to lock it closed. I then colored it blue instead of the original red and made it into Benny's shop with all it classical space goodness. Benny's shop features a micro spaceship in the display window, rear delivery door, and cash register. On the second floor is the apartment Benny lives in. It features a bed, side-table, computer, micro space layout, and ladders to the first and third floors. The third floors attic is empty but it usually features boxes of miscellaneous stuff. Here is Benny's car. It is supposed to feature the Classic Space Logo on the trunk (via this part: http://www.bricklink...26326&colorID=7 ) Benny's car was made back in 1984 by Universal Motors Corporation. Since 1997, the second gear shift has been jammed, thus rendering the car flightless. It has been redesigned to have a interior staircase and still have plenty of room for serving drinks and simple food. There is supposed to be a sign out front with this print: http://www.bricklink...asp?P=2335pb075 The inside of the model features a Frog on the bar (for no real reason), a inside staircase, and a bunch of seating on the second floor. Their is a crude gumball machine on the second floor at the top of the stairs. This is the delivery van for the Captain's Daughter Tavern, getting beer and other assorted alcohol from the brewery. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1407343191m.lxf Tudor-style House This house was built from set 10193 (Medieval Market Village). It was originally the blacksmith's which works fine in a Castle setting, but this building is supposed to be from the late 1920's! So I removed the blacksmiths and added a proper lower floor with a connecting staircase to the upper floor. This building's lower floor has a couch and table with lamp on top. On the second floor is my bed and a pot belly stove which warms the house up very nicely. I have a soft spot for this car, as it is the last remaining model I have built from my early Lego career / 2002. I've modified it a lot, but it basically went from medium blue to black, opening doors to no doors, and opening trunk to no trunk and back to opening trunk, all in the space of 12 years of evolving part design. (The original model was the Ford Anglia from the 2002 Harry Potter "Escape from Privet Drive" set.) LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1407344930m.lxf Octan Gas Station I built this OCTAN Gas Station from a Starter Model in LDD back in 2011, and have wanted to build it ever since. It features a sign and Tanker truck inspired by 10184 (Town Plan). By the way: The sign features two of this part (print not in LDD): http://www.bricklink...m.asp?P=2431px9 Instead of being in the 1950's, I set this station to have been built in the early '60's to mid '70's. The roof for the station is removable, and the bay fits most 16 stud long cars. (but just barley) Any official LEGO City car should fit fine. This truck was based off of the 2008 Town Plan set's tanker. It features a more American-style hood and grille, plus four tank lids instead of the original three. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1407774834m.lxf Bob's Adventure Supplies Built in 1898, this stone building was a small mining supply store, selling shovels and pickaxes to the miners from the local quarry and construction workers. In 1969, after 70+ years of business, the store was sold to a re-development firm for demolition. Thankfully, the building was saved through the actions of a local historic preservation group, who then bought the building to be used a a historical documents library. That library was moved to the Town Hall in 1998, and the building was sold to Bob with one condition: to never tear it down or disturb its historic status. Bob then turned the building back to it's roots with the opening of his Adventure Supplies shop which is still there to this day. NOTES: This is a modified version of Olivander's Wand Shop from 2011 set 10217 Diagon Alley with a back and staircase added, plus the expensive sand green and dark blue have been replaced. Also, this building is ONLY open-able up to 90 degrees. The whole 180 is impossible due to the way the original Olivanders Wand Shop was designed... sorry! The inside features tons of bits of gear, weapons, & devices for adventuring in any place (or time). This includes swords and a large mace to spacesuits and laser pistols. Bob's 1978 Nexus. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1410447014m.lxf Backwash Saloon I turned Colby City Showdown (set 79109) into a proper building for my town. It features removable floors to access the interior along with plenty of details. Also, this saloon is named after / supposed to include the Lego Movie mini-figures Sudds Backwash & Root Beer Belle. (NOTE: I have this building in real life now, plus the new "neon" sign. The old sign that was centered above the corner doesn't work in real life. I don't know why LDD allowed it in the first place, as it's an illegal build. The LDD file has been updated to reflect these changes.) This floor features: bar, four tables, several drinks containers, and a printed cash register. This part ( http://www.bricklink...asp?P=3039pb026 ) is supposed to be the register, but it is not in Lego Digital Designer. The second floor features three more tables for those really busy days, plus the piano. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1422741868m.lxf 1950's Fire Station Here we see my MOD of the Brick City Depot (Winter Village) Fire station. I redid the color scheme in some places & added a different Fire Engine. (which happens to be a MOD of set 9484, Red's Water Rescue) I redid the vehicle door connections and put pillars in the corners of the building. I also completely remodeled the roof, adding a water tower instead of the original bell tower. I want to add an old-school air raid siren, like the ones from the Cold War. The problem is I have no idea how to make one. If anyone has any ideas on that, please comment! The inside features a pole to slide on, a equipment locker, and just enough space for the 1950's fire truck. I built this from set 9484, Red's Water Rescue. I replaced the eyes with trans-black tiles and cheese slopes, while adding a grille where the mouth was. I also beef up the rear, and removed the flick-fire missiles. 1950's V8 Gas Station This model was originally built in 2012. It was inspired by the 2011 CARS set 8487, (Flo's V8 Cafe) but made larger and without the launcher and car wash. Yesterday I re-discovered the model and enlarged the bays from six to eight wide, added a rear to the building for the gas station attendant, and redid the curved roof covering the 8 gas pumps. The inside features a clock, four-flavor soda fountain, and the attendant's desk. Their is also a storage area under the soda fountain. Old Stone Bank I took set the Bank from the 2011 Harry Potter LEGO set Diagon Alley (number 10217) and gave it a make over into a more City-like set. First I straightened the columns out, and added a more protected Bank teller area. The vault was shortened width-wise by 1 stud, making it 3 studs thick. (plus the door, of course) The sign out front feature the two stickers from the 2014 Getaway Glider LEGO Movie set (number 70800). One says "BA" while the other says "NK". (Here is the complete sticker sheet: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=70800stk01 ) Here you can see the redone teller area, smaller bank vault. It was taken from set 76105, Doc Ock's truck Heist and modified to follow Eurotrash48903's example of the same type. There are some cosmetic changes from the LDD file to real life, but it's functionally the same. I was not doing much when I stumbled upon set 7633 (2009's Construction Site, link: http://www.bricklink...em.asp?S=7633-1 ) and was hit with the idea of making that CITY building front into a Creator-style full building with an opening back. I struggled with the design until i saw some Friends - themed instructions by a blogger named Kristel. (link to her awesome blog: http://modularsbykristel.com/ ) Her "Joanna’s Place" instructions inspired the roof design and the middle floors' windows. Then I combined all that with the HOTEL sign from the 2007 Cafe Corner modular building. (link: http://www.bricklink...m.asp?S=10182-1 ) I threw together the interior, (If you can call three beds and a front desk "interior"!) at the last minute. As I said before, I am no interior designer. The beds were copied from Medieval Market Village (set 10193, link: http://www.bricklink...m.asp?S=10193-1 ) and the desk was a table scrap. LDD file for the Hotel: http://www.mocpages....1415988835m.lxf Barber Shop This Barber Shop was partially inspired by set 7641, (City Corner, link to BrickLlink: http://www.bricklink...em.asp?S=7641-1 ) and it's bike shop and partially by the works of Kristel, whose Instructions from her blog led me to this roof design. Anyway, the building has a sign out front that is supposed to say "BARBER SHOP", in printed letters. Underneath that is a barber pole and two haircut styles on display in the front window. The first floor features two display heads with vintage hair styles, some chairs for waiting customers, and a cash register. On the second floor is two swivel chairs that also can recline (these chairs were copied from the ones in the Detective's Office modular building) and some bottles of hair care products. I added a rear to the building in a style like set 31026, Bike Shop & Cafe. The building also takes cues from Scotnick and his modular take on the Town plan set. The upper floor features the mayors office with filing cabinets while the lower floor features the secretary’s desk. My revamped version of the set features a hinge system to allow access to the interior while preserving the sense that it is a complete building. The house also has a interior and a secret exit through the fireplace. The house features a secret exit through the fireplace and boarded up windows. There are 10 of those 1x6 tan tiles in this build, and all of them are missing a specific rare wooden board print. LDD file for the haunted house: http://www.mocpages....1423180399m.lxf Johnny Thunder's office Inspired by the Bank building in set 6484, (Batmobile and the Two-Face Chase) this building features two floors and a "cast iron" facade. The bottom floor features Johnny's office with telephone, hat rack, bottle of root beer, and desk made from crates, while the top floor features the Trophy Room with these items: a Sword made in India out of ivory, a ancient Roman Shield from Italy, a golden Ring of Power from a dark land far away, a silver glove of an Aztec suit of armor, the Spear of Destiny from Jerusalem, a Trident from Atlantis, and a scythe from the Land of the Dead. The Treasure Chaser is based off of set 7622, Race for the Stolen Treasure. (2008's Indiana Jones theme) This is a better version of the Treasure Raider that I made a couple months back. This vehicle features a spare tire, head & tail lights, plus a good old adventurer favorite: the classic two seat piece from way back in 1998 and last in 2013. LDD file for office plus car: http://www.mocpages....1423430126m.lxf Sinister Mansion - Revisited This classic 90's LEGO-styled model was originally built in 2007 by a Brickshelf user named "Widdi". That user uploaded the instructions (seen here:http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=249223 ) which I stumbled upon and built / modified in Lego Digital Designer. I added another story for the tower, put furniture inside and worked a garage into the structure. More recently, I have redone the tower and removed some of the windows. The inside features the furniture from my Haunted House (10228) MOD, including (but not limited to): a Queen size bed, stove, table, phonograph, sidetable with lamp plus the couch. The first floor I has the living / dining rooms, as the couch, stove and table and other associated items are there. The second floor features the master bedroom with a small balcony on the right side. The third floor is the attic, which is empty. The tower / roof (fourth floor) is also empty. This is Sam sinister's personal ride: It is included in the LDD file. LDD file for the mansion and car: http://www.mocpages....1431479292m.lxf Johnny Thunder's office (version 2) This building was inspired by set Modular Building set numbers 10246: Detective Office, and 10190: Market Street. The first floor's look was totally taken from 10246, while the roof details are from 10190. Also,the year 1897 should be above the front door in printed black 1 x 1 tiles. The levels lift off like a modular but it lacks modular building pins, a base-plate and is not the proper size, being 18 studs square after all. Johnny's car is included in the Building's LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1427128673m.lxf Benny's Classic Town-style Apartment This is Benny the 1980-something Space Guy's apartment. It features a garage with dual opening doors on the lower floor for his Lego Classic Space - styled Car. Benny himself (minus his suit's printing, of course!) is there as well. The style of the set is based off half of set 6390, a Classic Town set from 1980. (This set was re-released in 2003 under the short-lived Lego LEGENDS line as set 10041.) Also, unlike most of my buildings, Benny's apartment does not open like a dollhouse, but features removable levels to accesses the inside, much like a modular building. I was inspired to build this model after seeing the dark red half-track / truck in set 60071, Hovercraft Arrest. The model features a row of space-ship styled seats opening doors, and "double" tail lights. (I used a trans-red grille to create a nice effect.) the white tiles is supposed to be Benny's license plate. It was inspired by the B model of Creator set 31026, (Bike Shop & Cafe) and features a detailed interior, delivery truck, outside staircase and a hinge to allow you to open the building. This same hinge system "locks" the building closed by way of a Technic pin. The lower floor features a service desk, mailbox and two seats for waiting customers. The upper floor features a desk for sorting outgoing mail and a cabinet full of dead letters, a list of addresses for my town, and other assorted stuff. This truck is a MOD of the truck from set 10222, Winter Village Post Office. It seats two people and has storage room (with opening doors) in the back for packages. It houses my Post office and features a large bay window. The inside of the model features a work area on the second floor piled high with letters and packages to be sorted. The lower floor features a couple of chairs for waiting customers to sit in, and a counter to add packages being handed over into the computer tracking system. This truck is also in the LDD file. LDD file for this older post office: http://www.mocpages....1314989073m.lxf Model Train Club This model houses Iron LUG, the local LEGO Users Group for Ironwood - area residents. It is situated in an old pharmacy that has been renovated into a display area. Inside the model is the Iron LUG LEGO layout, with a train, tracks, and "water". Their is even a control switch to speed up the train. (in reality the train does not move, being set into the 1 stud wide track) (No LDD file available for this one, sorry!) Grays Movie Theater The theater is modeled after the one in 2008 set 10184, Town Plan. The original upload of this model was in gray-scale way back in September 2014, and this is a colorized update of that model. I was going to name this movie theater Bleys, after the derogatory nickname of the post-2003 switch to Bluish Grey.... but I didn't want to stir up old feelings of resentment and stubbornness, so I named it "Greys" instead. I chose white panels for the windows and theater door because I have seen first hand how bad stickers on clear windows are, (my brother had this set) and wanted something more realistic. If I were to build this, I would use stickers (Shock & horror!) from both the Town Plan theater & Palace Cinema modular building, (as they are of compatible styling) and stick them on the front and sides. The letters G-R-A-Y-S would be printed on 1x1 tiles on the main sign (both sides!)... but the main "now showing" signage, however, would remain blank unless I Can fit the these words on it: STAR WARS - A NEW HOPE to replicate the 1977 showing of this iconic film. My town is set in modern times, so this could create some issues... Here is the inside, complete with Foosball table, waiting seats and refreshment stand. Currently however, there are seven seats in the theater plus the two for the people waiting outside, and one for the ticket taker. There are two soda flavors available, one of which is Sgt. Pepper, a Beatles and a Dr. Pepper reference in one drink! LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1429563317m.lxf Victorian Townhouse This building was originally the Brick City Depot 'Winter Village - Victorian House" model. (Link to it here: https://www.brickcit...victorian_house ) I removed the snow, and sloped-plate roof, and added a back half with stairs to the model. There is even a fireplace for keeping you warm on cold winter nights. The rear of the model features the chimney flue. As usual, this building hinges open and shuts on a Technic pin. The inside of the model features most of my standard details, such as a stove (which is supposed to look like it's hooked into the chimney), couch, vintage phonograph, table with lamp, curio cabinet, and twin-size bed. I have even included a analog clock on the wall above the fireplace to complete the early 1900's look. It may be not as fancy, but it get the job done and looks okay too. Also, I credit Eurobricks / Flickr user "Kristal" for the roof top decorations technique. (Here is a link to her blog: http://modularsbykristel.com/ ) The inside features a new look: a stove borrowed from the Haunted House (set 10228) and a staircase with railings instead of a ladder. The cabinets have been moved upstairs, and the desk has been redesigned as well. This model's LDD file also comes with Johnny's car, seen here in real life. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1430498488m.lxf Grocery Store with apartment This build was inspired by sets 41108, (Heartlake Food Market) 10684 (Supermarket Suitcase), with other sets thrown in as needed. This sign ( http://www.bricklink...asp?P=6179pb086 ) goes above the front door. This poster ( http://www.bricklink...sp?P=87079pb197 )goes next to the picture window. The store-owner uses this torso. ( http://www.bricklink...?P=973pb1935c01 ) The inside (lower floor) isn't my best work, but it gets the idea across that this is a grocery store. The store features tow shelves, a freezer, gumball machine and, in the restroom, a toilet and sink. The upper floor is the super market owner's apartment and is very basic with couch, table with two chairs, bed and TV (with test pattern made from a Star Wars control pad). With this MOC I wanted to create the feeling of a working class area in Sweden during the 70s/80s. The car is a Volvo 242 DL from 1975. Hope you like it!

Last Wednesday, September 6th, I was kindly granted an early entrance to the LEGO House with a camera and here's the resulting video.
