  1. Solitary Existence

This secluded shrine is one of many in a large monastery complex nestled into the Heavenly Mountains of Mitgardia. Also, if you didn't already see my post in the New Member Guide, this model is part of a giveaway. You can see the full details and more pictures of the model here. Comments and criticism welcome
  2. Proudspire Manor

A commissioned model for one of the Skyrim game designers. It is based off of the actual Proudspire Manor in game, which is located in the city of Solitude, just like my previous General Goods, and Windmill. The model uses many of the same techniques as my previous Skyrim models, but I changed the stonework technique in this creation to be more parts efficient. Proudspire Manor is the home of the respected Proudspire family, in Daydelon. Plenty more pictures on brickbuilt. All C&C welcome
  3. Winter Outing

Just a quick 30 minute LUG speed-build that I liked enough to take pictures of and post. One of the main things I wanted to try with this build was the transition from tan to dark tan on the edges of the path, to give the impression of slush. A Mitgardian trapper goes for a walk in the early morning, after a freshly fallen snow. More pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, C&C welcome
  4. After building Chenonceau, I was in a bit of a micro mood, and thought it would be fun to try my hand at a micro siege workshop. The whole build is only 8×8, and includes four micro siege weapons: one ballista, two catapults, and one siege tower. Dwarves in Mitgardia have long been masters of creating devastating siege weapons. With new demand for armament to battle the Spire, these Dwarven craftsmen have put their forges to work forging powerful ballistas, catapults, and more. Thanks for looking, comments and suggestions always welcome
  5. My main goal for this little build was to experiment with some less common colors in the buildings, and a few new techniques. I’m pretty pleased with how the SNOT design of the dark red tudor building worked out. Credit for the cobblestone technique goes to Mike. A Mitgardian courier brings the long awaited news of the Heir of Cedrica, and Daydelon rejoices. More pictures. Thanks for looking
  6. Harburg Castle

This is my 5th entry into the Colossal Castle Contest XIV, for the Ice Castle category. Burg Eltz castle in Germany is one of my favorite castles, and that castle was my main inspiration for this build. My model stands 84 studs tall, and features a full interior via 2 hinging walls sections. Harburg Castle is located in the mountain range near the Nocturnus border in Mitgardia. The lord of the castle, Karsten Storrar, receives an unexpected visit from his brother Sir Glorfindel. Inside the castle the cook prepares some fresh baked goods while a few guards take their mid-day meal. "Karsten! It is good to see you again!" "Likewise, but what brings my famous little brother and Dedan the hunter to Harburg?" Karsten asked jokingly, though his tone soon shifted as he posed another question, "New tidings of the Algus in the North?" "No, the Kylma Katsella and new fortifications seem to be holding back those foes. It's danger from the east that brings me, as we've heard many reports of the Black Spire's influence in Nocturnus growing stronger. Naturally, Harburg's location on the Nocturnus border makes it an important position to have well defended. We've come to warn you and other towns and villages that their defenses should be strengthened in the face of this possible threat," Glorfindel answered. "Yes, I've heard these rumors myself and tried to prepare accordingly. Unfortunately, many of the neighboring lords and jarls feel that these rumours are unfounded." "Which is why we've come to you first," Dedan interjected, "we hoped that your influence in this region of Mitgardia might help to convince the others." "Well I'm happy to do what I can, though of course you understand the difficulty of the situation. The recent Algus threat has already weakened most towns and villages, as they sent supplies and men to fortify the North. But enough of this gloomy talk, come! The twins will be thrilled to have a visit from their uncle, and I'm sure Karin will be pleased to see you as well." And with that, the group headed into the protection and welcoming warmth of the keep. On a white backdrop: There are plenty more pictures on brickbuilt. I'm quite pleased with how this turned out, and am looking forward to developing more stories with Glorfindel's family. C&C always welcome
  7. Svellbjorn Tower

I thought the polar bear Chima figs fit well in Mitgardia, particularly the Frozen Beyond, so I built a ice/snow fortress for them. "Svellbjorn" means ice-bear in Norse. The corner stone technique was borrowed from Andrew JN. The Svellbjorn are natives of the Frozen Beyond in Mitgardia, though their tendency to rarely venture outside their territory keeps their existence relatively unknown. Some hunters are bringing in a shark. And a fun shot, with a bit of glare off the 'ice': There are a few more pictures on brickbuilt. I may do more with the Svellbjorn in the future, I imagine them to be enemies of the Algus. C&C welcome
  8. I had fun experimenting with the cross bracing below the platform, and trying to simulate hay bales around the targets Even in the snow, Mitgardian archers continue their practice. There are a few more pictures on brickbuilt. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome, I should be posting the second phase fairly soon
  9. Here's my phase 3 storehouse for Age of Mitgardia. I used the vast majority of our dark brown collection in this build, and really like how it looks with the reddish brown walls. The storehouse features a full interior with plenty of supplies stored for the winter. And the doors work. Just outside one of Daydelon's large storehouses, Smolja the dwarven blacksmith is greeted by Flotnar. "Good day, Smolja! I hope your work hasn't been keeping you too busy of late," said the cheerful sailor. "Good day to you my friend, and while I never have lack of work, there hasn't been as many pressing tasks of late. Your dogs look to be in fine shape, how do they enjoy life aboard your ship?" queried Smolja. "They enjoy it well enough, though they're happy to gain a romp on land when possible. In fact, they're the reason I've been meaning to talk with you. You see, I'd like to have some light chain collars made, with the dogs names engraved on small placards. Rjoor and Rif are their names." Flotnar stated. "I can do that easily enough," replied Smolja, "bring them round to my smithy tomorrow, and I'll make sure the collars fit properly." "Thank you, Smolja, I shall drop by tomorrow morning." More pictures can be found on my website. C&C welcome
  10. Here is my build for Barracks Phase 2. It's a bit of an unorthodox training ground, but I thought it would make sense for Mitgardian warriors to be well trained in how to survive Mitgardia's icy climate. Also, this is my unofficial entry to the Natural Beauty category of the Summer Joust. The smaller pine tree is based off of mrcp6d’s design. Part of any Mitgardian warrior’s training is to learn how to survive for days outside in the frigid cold with minimal supplies. Snow shelters offer relative warmth during the night if well constructed. More pictures: link Your comments and suggestions are always appreciated
  11. Here is my Barracks Phase 3 build for Age of Mitgardia. It was actually made in 2015, but it took me forever to get around to making the other barracks phases. I used SNOT 1x2 tiles for the stone walls, and quite like the stone block texture it gives. Daydelon barracks is a prominent barracks in Mitgardia, and houses from all over the guild send their sons there to be trained as warriors. In fact, it's not overly unusual for citizens of another guild to train for a time in Daydelon. Thanks for looking, your comments are always welcome
  12. Arangr Castle: Winter

The fourth and final phase of my project to show Arangr Castle through all 4 seasons. See spring, summer , and fall. What was your favorite season? Arangr castle is located near the Avalonian border, in Mitgardia. Winter brings snow and ice to the countryside, and an unusual quiet, as most animals are in hibernation of have migrated to warmer climates. Fortunately a good harvest has provided plenty of food for the castle’s residents. Inside a feast is begun, and the minstrels are just arriving. See a large res picture of all 4 seasons together, here. And see more pictures of 'winter' here: link Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed this series
  13. Here's my build for the second Gatehouse phase. I used a similar ground texture to what I did in my previous build, “Start of a Journey,” and tried a different stone wall design for the gatehouse. The warrior returns to Nordheim’s welcoming gate after a long journey through the clan lands of Mitgardia. More pictures are available on my website: link Thanks for looking!
  14. Here's my build for the 1st gatehouse phase in Age of Mitgardia. I wanted to experiment with ground texture, and was inspired by K.Kreations, and Brick Vader. A warrior sets out from one of Nordheim’s outer gates, headed into the tundra of Mitgardia. Gates closed: Thanks for looking, more pictures can be found on my website, link. As always, your comments and suggestions are quite welcome
  15. Arangr Castle: Fall

The third phase of my project to show Arangr Castle through all 4 seasons. This was a fun season to build, as it being the time of harvest, I was able to have lots of fun minifig details. As well as some fall foliage, which is always neat. Arangr castle is located near the Avalonian border, in Mitgardia. Fall sees the harvest of crops, and storage of provisions for winter. The leaves fall, as the weather gets colder, and animals also make preparation to hibernate or migrate south. As usual, there are more pictures on my website: link Thanks for looking, one season left
  16. Arangr Castle: Summer

The second phase of my project to show Arangr Castle through all 4 seasons. See spring here. The landscape changed most, though there are some changes to be found inside the castle as well. Arangr castle is located near the Avalonian border, in Mitgardia. Summer sees the continuing growth of plant and animal life. The warmer weather dries up the spring rains and encourages outdoor activities. More pictures can be found on my website. Thanks for looking
  17. This was a really fun build, that let me try a few new things: mainly the curved roof design, and using the new lavendar leaves. The crane and doors actually work, and the posts of the dock go down into the ‘ice’. There’s a full interior as usual. You can see tutorials for both the lower roof, and curved roof. The city of Daydelon has many warehouses, most are equipped with a crane, and large doors on the second floor for easy unloading of cargo. In the summer, boats are harbored at the dock, but the winters of Mitgardia are so cold, that carts and wagons can be driven on top of the ice. See more pictures on my website, here. Feedback always appreciated
  18. A Mitgardian widow mourns the death of her husband who fell in battle against the Algus: See more pictures here: link Thanks for looking
  19. Arangr Castle: Spring

As I was brainstorming ideas for a new build, John suggested a castle with four phases, showing how it, and the landscape, changes through each season. Realizing a good idea when I heard it, I set to work on the castle. Since I will need to modify the landscape for each phase, I planned to have the castle lift off so it’s easy to rework the base. As usual there’s a full interior, this time accessed by both a hinging section, and pull out rooms. The castle itself was inspired mainly by the creations of Eklund, DNL, and Aliencat. Simon S. suggested the addition of a moat. The castle features a working drawbridge, gates, and shutters. This is one of my biggest builds, weighing in at over nineteen and a half pounds; the base is 52×52 studs, including the border. Arangr castle is located near the Avalonian border, in Mitgardia. Spring brings new life to the countryside, as the snow finally melts, and animals awake from hibernation, or migrate back to the area. It’s a busy time of year, as fields need to be plowed and planted, and supplies restocked. Drawbridge closed: As always, you can see more pictures on my website: link I hope you like it, summer will be coming next
  20. Here's my Phase 1 build for the storehouse category in Age of Mitgardia. I limited myself to an 8x8 base size for this build, and was mainly trying to make a realistic looking cellar entrance. Fruit cellars are commonly used in Mitgardia to store food, and other goods. Rats can become problematic, but it looks like this one's food stealing days are over: See more pictures here: link Comments and suggestions welcome
  21. Snowy Castle dioramas have long been my favorite subject matter, so this was an extraordinarily fun build. This is my largest irregular base build to date, and features a full interior throughout the whole keep. The rockwork was made using my technic brick design, which you can see a tutorial on, here: Flickr It's my personal favorite of all my builds so far, so I hope you all like it The citizens of Nordheim are quite proud of their large keep, and can often be found feasting inside it's protective walls on cold wintry days. See all the details here: link
  22. My entry for Category A of the Frozen Beyond contest. There's a full interior in the manor, via pull out rooms: dining hall, armory, storage room, barracks and bedroom. The doors and trapdoor are functional. Sir Glorfindel and a group of valiant Mitgardian warriors have been serving as a task force to help defeat the Algus from destroying more Mitgardian lands and homes. Lord Thandril had let them use his Manor as one of their bases, but now even that is under attack from the frozen invaders: See more pictures here: link Thanks for looking, I still have another build or two to come this month, including a biggy
  23. Hradcanny Dungeons

Built for the Colossal Castle Contest. It was inspired by Michal Herbolt's "Defending the Mine" build. There are 4 individual cell modules that hook onto the back of the build. The dwarves of Hradcanny know well that run down prison cells increase the chances of escape, thus, even their dungeons feature wonderful craftsmanship of stonework. See more pictures here: link Thanks for looking, more to come soon
  24. Here's my Phase 1 store build for AoM: Numerous vendors set up in the market square to sell their various wares Thanks for looking
  25. EDIT: The title should be: AoM: Store Phase 2: Danyel's Smithy. If a mod could fix that, it'd be great. An entry into the Castle Goes to Space contest on classic-castle. I chose to redesign the set 5890, Squidman's Pitstop, into a medieval blacksmith shop. I'm really pleased with how this turned out, and it was very fun transforming the space details in the set into medieval features. Danyel is a capable blacksmith that never lacks for work at his smithy, and his wares are often sold by his wife in the market at Daydelon. Space set it's based off of: More pictures here: link. C&C welcome
