  2. Hello again, Today I present to you my final MOC before I begin college. At the beginning of the summer I had some trouble with the custom battery in this model so I had moved on to the corvette. Unfortunately I did not finish the corvette in time, but I did resolve the battery issue in this truck. This small scale trophy truck was constructed off the guidelines given for the real life truck. These trucks are massive, with 39 inch tires, and suspension travels of 24-28 inches in the front and almost 30 inches in the rear. The wheelbase is about 125 inches long and 93 inches wide. The somewhat light and agile body is paired up with a 700+ horsepower motor, making for one very fast vehicle. My goals in this model were speed and long suspension travel. In order to overcome the battery pack limitations, I purchased one of z3_2drive's custom batteries and receivers. This rechargeable battery really packs a punch. Drive is powered by a buggy motor and the steering by the servo motor. Now time for some photos! In an attempt to make the model stick out even more, I used the very unique blue panels from the 41999 BOSS Crawler. Though it did pose some limitations in the bodywork, I think it looks really, really cool. I also really like how the back turned out. Though the real trucks often do not have lights in the back, they certainly help to dress it up. The spare tires and the grill hide the rechargeable battery. Here you can see the large suspension travel in the back. Trophy trucks usually have 4-link suspension in the rear, which is what I emulated here. Just like the real trucks the rear suspension is dampened. For my model, I used the old pneumatic cylinders with only one port at the bottom. You can also barely see the battery hang down from above. Here you can see the underbelly, I am starting to get the hang of building studless! And the video, one of my bests to date. And more pictures: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=546838 I hope you enjoyed looking at this model as I had making and driving it. As I am leaving for college tomorrow without my legos, there will be no more creations until winter break. I will continue to lurk though! Regads, Tim
  3. Hi! This MOC is about the most famous battle of American civil war. Learn more about this event: --- I built defensive line which has been extended along Cemetery Ridge to the hill known as Little Round Top by Union corps under the command of Winfield Scott Hancock. --- You can find pictures of a higher quality here! More pictures: Thanks for watching! C&C are welcome!
  4. A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT I like this movie as well as fly-fishing. So my goal was to copy the movie poster by using virtual legos. The scenery was arranged with SR3D Builder. Fly Line (string) generated with LSynth (MLCad). Rendered with Pov-Ray: For lighting I used 6 spotlights. For getting closer to the mood of the original movie poster I disabled radiosity and used focal blur. The original movieposter: It's my first poste in the "Special" forum. So hope you enjoy it.
  5. Inspired by droomangroups Unimog http://www.eurobrick...97705&hl=unimog I decided to build one myself, although my version is a bit large, so it's more like inspired by the real Unimogs. Let me present to you: Crazy Gretas "The Badass Explorer". For some reason I couldn't deep link the picture of the other side, so chek out my flickr (url at the bottom). The motorcycle clicks in place real easy and is also easy to pull out. Bed, toilet, kitchen, dining area, storage under the bed etc She's not pretty, she's badass. It took me about 5-6 hours to build. I looked at pictures on google and videos on youtube for reference. And of course droomangroup excellent Unimog camper There are some more pictures on my flickr https://flic.kr/p/oGbTUm
  6. Hello I want to present you my new creation - Audi R18. The idea of creating a large and motorized racing prototype came a long time ago, after watching the race 24 hours of Le Mans in 2012. When I create this project, I faced with a lot of difficulties because of which I have several times postponed the project indefinitely. It was originally planned that the car will be manual transmission, but because of its asymmetric location relative to the center, there were difficulties with the construction of the chassis so I refused it. Similarities with the prototype very conditional, but the originals I took it Audi R18. Feautres: - 2 L-motor to the drive with gear 3:5 and 20:28 - Servo motor on the steering - IR receiver a new type, BB Original: My version: That's all. Thank you for your attention. Your Sicil. Sorry for my bad english.

    Red's MOCs n' Mods

I seem to be trying out a lot of random and disparate bits n bobs n ideas right now, and rather than cluttering up the forum with each new idea, I thought I'd post em all in a specific thread. -------------------- Continuing from the Mk1 MOC I posted in this thread, I finished the design, although by the time I had done that, I had already decided that, as much as I like it, I won't be building it for a good while. It's far too big for my very limited layout (neither the space, nor resources for smooth curves at the moment), and to be honest, the one steam loco I currently have is not of a standard, nor really in the same scale, to go with it. So, I still have a steam loco, and only modern era freight stock for it to pull, so what to do? I decided to settle for a 6 stud wide Mk1 inspired design that is a lot closer to normal Lego lengths (I still slightly lengthened the larger standard train base), which I have dubbed the Mk0.5... :P As well as being shorter, thinner and flat of profile, it's also considerably less detailed, with features largely inspired by the same playability (and in the case of the doors, building practice) of the Creator Horizon Express (aka TGV). It's mainly intended as a quick train builder so I have something to play with while I design better more detailed rolling stock and locos. There are currently 4 different types: Mk0.5 Full 1st. Mk0.5 Buffet 1st. Mk0.5 Full Std. Mk0.5 Std Brake. ...And finally, a quick image of the full rake behind a rather out of date version of my Mongrel Mogul! At some point I'll post photos of the now basically complete loco, but for now, I think I've filled the net with enough nonsense!
  9. I've started on a chassis that will eventually be used to build a supercar with, as per the unofficial Technic rite-of-passage: Notable features include a floating differential setup that's borrowed from Thirdwigg's 8081 RT MOC (found here: http://thirdwigg.com/2014/01/12/8081-rt/) The always necessary underside shot: The right and left sides, respectively: The back end: And a shot from the top: A lot of this is placeholder; the entire front steered suspension setup is also borrowed from Thirdwigg's MOC and as such is held on with the power of Grayskull wishful thinking. In addition, the chassis is about as short as it will get due to the fact that the drivetrain is artificially long to avoid issues with the half-width offset generated by the floating differential, and the servo motor is set directly end-to-end with the L-motor. Finally, I think the chassis overall is a little too tall for a supercar, and I would like to lower that somewhat. Basically, I'm looking for what I can improve to make this a bit more compact (and yet still have room for a battery, something essential I forgot to put into this) and what I can do to make it stronger. This project is derived from the thread I made recently about developing a compact suspension (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=97809) - as you can see, I ended up using Thirdwigg's solution as it was going to be much better than anything I could come up with in a reasonable amount of time. Let's finish off this post with some nice pictures of the rear drivetrain, with and without the various supporting elements!
  10. Made this MOC for Finnish LUG Palikkatakomo's "Traditional Finnish Proverb" building contest. Old geezer is quite stunned when "Roasted bird" on the menu wasn't quite what he expected... But there's no accounting for taste, as the waitress cheekily points out. There's some more babbling about the creation on my blog. Enjoy!

    MOC: Closed food store

A closed food store, that either has been closed for the day or for good. I wanted in this model to try and build in a scale between minifig scale and micro scale. The "Food store" sign and "open daily" sign are custom made.
  12. Hello, Eurobricks! MOC Soltown

Hola, I'm a new member, but have been lurking for many years. At the moment I'm working on a classic themed Lego town in our guest room/my Lego room. I want it too look very 80's and early 90's, because that was the era when I was a kid (I was born in 1981). But I want it to have new features also, so it feels like a town that's been around for some time, with different layers of time periods just like a real town. Soltown has an airport, two train stations, a medieval castle that attracts tourist, lots of policemen since it's a bit of a dictatorship, a harbor and so on. You'll see most of it in my shaky youtube video ... Here's the link It's still under construction. I think it will be finished in late August, because I'm going away on vacation. If you search for the hashtag #lego on instagram, you will probably see some more pics of the different stuff that's going on in Soltown. Anyways, I'm so inspired by all the cool MOCs your posting here, so I hope I can contribute some myself to this great community. Here's a pic of how Soltown looked a couple of weeks ago, but in the youtube video you'll see a lot of changes (I've removed the train yard because I wanted a more compact town)

    Giant robot tips

Hi, I just finished up a prototype of a Megazord/Voltron style Hero Factory giant mech. And it doesn't look that great when combined. It's bulky and awkward. Any tips for improving? (I'll try to get pictures of it up if I can.)
  15. Here it is, my second MOC dedicated to my setting, Season of the cherry blossoms. This time, it's a board game for two players, with lots of minifigures and with the possibility to customize the playing map for endless fun. The game manual (be kind to me, it's home made) and building instructions (from LDD, so you know how they look like) can be found on my blog: http://seasonofthech...ego-board-game/ A gallery of photos: If you like it, and would like to support it, you can find it on LEGO Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/75136

  19. Hi everyone! This is the first MOC I've put on here, and it's a combination of Rocka BA, Scarox and Stormer's Freeze Machine. Apologies for picture quality. Also, for some reason, this place won't let me insert my pictures from Flickr? Front: Stormer Polar Walker Front by chrisharris1994, on Flickr Side: Stormer Polar Walker Side by chrisharris1994, on Flickr Back: Stormer Polar Walker Back by chrisharris1994, on Flickr The Freeze Cannon. Note that I left the design almost exactly the same as the original Freeze Machine Stormer Polar Walker Freeze Cannon by chrisharris1994, on Flickr And here it is attacking some Jumpers: Stormer Polar Walker Attack! by chrisharris1994, on Flickr Hope you like, and I look forward to feedback!
  20. Everyone remembers the 9V Train's sub-theme "My Own Train"... or if you don't and are wondering what I'm talking about look here on Bricklink for a list of all the sets in that theme: http://www.bricklink...ing=124.315.694 The passenger aspect of this sub-theme is covered by this set, #10015: Passenger Wagon. (seen in this stock Bricklink photo below) Also, I might suggest you look at -R8-'s 2011 Reviewer's Academy review of the set here on Eurobricks: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=59018 Everyone loves a classic, and the set deserves the affection if gets. However, it really lacks variety if you have a whole train of these running around. I asked myself these questions: Where does the baggage / mail go? Where are the end tail lights? Why am I talking to myself? Thus, I built my own version, which I plan on getting in real life soon (if not next): I went ahead and added inter-car walkways, giving it less a 1870's feel and more a 1910's look, plus two sliding doors for the combination baggage / passenger car. A small rear platform for the observation car was added, as were 1/2 stud recessed doors for platform access. These coaches are also build-able in tan, dark purple, reddish brown, white, black, and red. They are to be pulled by engine #4613 around my layout: (EDIT: 7/22/14: Updated the photo of the engine to a more recent screenshot... now I just need to take a real life photo!) What do you think? Comments, questions, and complaints welcome!

    [MOC] USRA 0-8-0

... or at least that was what it was supposed to look like [EDIT] V2 with LDD file [/EDIT] Hello all, This is my latest steam engine, based on a USRA 0-8-0. USRA 0-8-0 by UrbanErwin(EPJL), on Flickr It features BBB Medium drivers. The thing is powered by a M-motor, and receives current through a emptied 9V train motor (don't worry, it broke before I took it apart) It features some pressure gauges. USRA 0-8-0 by UrbanErwin(EPJL), on Flickr I originally intended to add a decoupler based on this design, but the tender would become too long to look good with the engine itself. The light gray area is for a logo which I still have to create and print. USRA 0-8-0 by UrbanErwin(EPJL), on Flickr More pictures Thanks for looking, improvement points are appreciated

    MOC: BMW X6

I'm glad to present you another MOC in my garage! Today the model based on the mid-size luxury crossover - BMW X6, called by the manufacturer Sports Activity Coupé (SAC). It's not a recreation of a factory stock car, the inspiration was the model tuned by the german company Lumma Design. The car is adapted as 2-seated coupe (a bit shorter than an original), both for minifigs and Friends minidolls. This time the doors don't open in the primary configuration (unless you dismount the mirror clips), but there is still a posibility to use the alternative door design (however, they don't look well). Forgive my little deviation - I don't know why, but I always put the white rims to black cars . The last pic is a little joke - you can see the original here. More pics in my flickr album. [pid][/pid] 255B I made this pirate diorama for a Lego contest my local museum was hosting. I've really wanted to get back into pirate mocs because they're always so much fun to build and they're what brought me to the online lego community. There's not much to say about this other than I built it in about a week, and my favorite part is definitely the rock work. As always I'm trying to improve that. As you can see as well, I included my Sig-fig in there, see if you can spot him (if you can't you might need glasses, it's pretty easy to find). Lastly, I will be going to Brickworld Chicago on Saturday June 14, so I look forward to hopefully seeing lots of you guys there. Unfortunately I won't be displaying this year... but I'm really hoping for next year, and I'll still be there checking out all the cools creations. For more pictures check out my post on mocpages. My user is Ben King.
