The strangest boat you ever did see

I present to you, my Blacktron Bionicle Boat. I combined my three favorite Lego things into one. It's a boat. built out of Bionicle. In the Blacktron 2 colour scheme. Honestly, I debated which subforum to actually post this, but I decided on Pirates, cause it's a boat. Blacktron Bionicle Boat It's equal parts Blacktron, Bionicle, and Boat. Secret Galaxy: Bionicle

I love this channel and now there is a video for LEGO. EDIT: A video with a potted history of LEGO and a rundown on Bionicle. I have followed this channel a few years and there is plenty of interesting Toy and Cartoon related content. This is the first about LEGO though.

    [MOC] TIE-Krykna

After the exhibition season, back to the bench and nothing better than a good old TIE variant to boost my creativity. Let's all hail the TIE-Krykna. TIE-Krykna by Veynom, on Flickr It is the improbable hybrid between a classic TIE-Fighter, an imperial or separatist walker, and a few Bionicle parts. Nightmarish, isn't it? TIE-Krykna by Veynom, on Flickr TIE-Krykna by Veynom, on Flickr TIE-Krykna by Veynom, on Flickr Inspiration came when after liking an internet meme mixing a TIE-Fighter cockpit with legs from a "Homing Spider" (set 75016). Just doing the same was too easy, and not stable enough to my taste. Besides, I had that bag of unused Bionicle parts received from a friend... The name "Krykna" was inspired by my wife who rightfully (Rule N2: Wifes are always right) told me that it can't be a TIE-Spider as spiders have 8 legs and my TIE-thing has only 6 of these. For a brief moment, I strongly considered re-engineering the entire MOC to include 2 more legs. Ultimately, I decided first to google for Star Wars spiders and found the Krykna. This horrible beast from SW Rebels was perfect. No need to rebuild everything, exit the TIE-Spider and long live the TIE-Krykna. Rebranding was less cumbersome. Note that I did not flinch when my wife spoke about "oh, no, not another TIE-thing!", because I remembered just in time about rule N1: Wifes are right. PS: for those who want to know rule N3: it is easy: 'In case of doubt, refer to rule N1".
  5. Hi!I don't know if this build is enough 'action figure' for this forum, but at least I have seven brick-built Toa to show here, and their weapons. I hope you can appreciate the scenery as bonus! Back in August I created an entry for the "90th Anniversary: Bionicle Theme Celebrations" contest on Ideas. My build is a tribute to the theme that loved for years: Bionicle. I grew up with Bionicle "Mask of Light: The Movie", and it's still one of the very few films I rewatch sometimes. The world of Mata Nui, the Toa and the Matoran, the different environments and strange architecture, and the soundtrack too, still resonate with me. With this build I wanted to capture the essence of each Toa and display them in their natural environment. The Toa Nuva, being my favourites, formed the basis of my designs, but you'll see hints of Toa Mata and Metru. I gave each Toa a unique build, but with some features shared between them. The most challenging part were their masks, because of the limited space and because I really wanted those to represent Toa. I feel like if I'd build these masks in alternative colours, it would still be possible to tell which design belongs to who. The weapons were also fun to make. I also varied their heights: Pohatu is one of the shortest, while Kopaka and Onua are significantly taller. As you can see, I used Mixel ball joints, technic pins, hinge plates and bar-clip connections to give these guys a nice range of motion. Unfortunately, no wrist articulation and the feet can't turn side to side. Some of the masks are a bit fragile, and all Toa are prone to fall over because they are top heavy and have relatively small feet. So on the whole, playing with them is certainly possible, but in the end a little frustrating. In the model, I attached the Toa with studs under their feet, and in the case of Takanuva with stud with shaft pieces to the side of his feet sticking into the ground. Makes life easier when moving the build around. Look closer into the background and you may notice a carving of the Great Spirit Robot! Thanks for reading! C&C appreciated!

  9. I'm not even entirely sure being cut is the case, but I'm comparing two different Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. parts of the same axle length (y'know, these pieces: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=522) for a Sand Tarakava replica and I think one piece has one more of the rings than the other and thus maybe a little longer. Is this standard for the pieces to be slightly different like that, or has there been piece alteration here? As someone whose purist in the sense that I just want a LEGO set to have the parts as they normally are, can you tell if a hose part has been cut down (and thus not the actual piece) if that's even what's happening here? For all I know the messy-looking ends of the parts may just be the condition or so. I sorta just get OCD over the parts being correct, a similar case if Hose, Rigid 3mm D. parts (https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=528) are cut or distinguishing between the proto minifigure blank heads and regular minifigure heads whose face printing has been rubbed off over time (as well as stuff like if parts are actually bootleg instead of authentic LEGO, but that's another can of worms). EDIT: Looking at some sealed parts from a bag of the Sidorak set, yeah the inconsistent rings seems to be present there too, and a little weird "fraying" at an end where part of the circle is raised above the rest of it. Guessing LEGO's production itself cuts the pieces down from a long length into the right size and the softer plastic is why stuff like that happens?

    MOC: The Mata Nui Robot

Hello denizens of Eurobricks! This MOC was started about February 2019 but I got stuck on the head and lost my files, I started again last October and finished it around the last day of the year. I figured although this creation is from the Bionicle universe (well it kind of is the universe) it is a sci-fi creation and a system build so it goes here I'm quite proud of it as it's my first build using Bricklink Studio and I definitely am going to do most of my building (or at least planning and part budgeting) in Studio from now on. Edit: added the scale comparison photo. Here's the link to the ideas page that has views of the other sides: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/0c310848-b5eb-4d71-85b6-258bc99b0b73 One area I definitely need to fix is the spine-which has numerous collisions due to how difficult flex hoses are to work with in Studio. After the last update it numbers 1984 parts, happy to hear any advice from those experienced with mechs etc or who have ideas for additions
  11. Hey there, I'm here to present a MOC I've finally took the time to take decent pictures of, Fali'Ven. Click on the picture to access the gallery ! Fali'ven is an adventurer in the Neverscape era of Universcape, a french Fan Universe created by Loserkiller. While at a certain point of his life he explored dungeons with a fellow explorer from the same race, he's now working alone. This character doesn't have any specific powers, and only rely on his agility and his fighting skills to survive the many traps and ennemies that awaits anyone who dare enter the different sacred places hidden and scattered in Universcape. The basis of this design is, as most of you may have noticed, the blue Vahki, Bordakh. I wanted it to have a G1 feel, and had to have elements from the original Vahki, but designed as a hero/adventurer, so with tweaked proportions and armor. The blades were an afterthought, as I had them lying on my desk, since I didn't use them on my rework of Chi Panthar, and they just looked perfect with this MOC. The actual backstory of this guy is taken back from 2004, when the Vahki actually came out. My friend found them pretty early and knowing that I was waiting eagerly for Bordakh to come out, bought it and offered it to me as a gift. Fast forward several months, we were playing with several Bionicle figures, in an universe similar to the one from The Legend of Zelda, where my Bordakh, wearing the King Mathias cape, was a hero who needed to defeat the evil gan... Ultimate Dume. I remember having fun with him for several hours and this is still to this day one of the fondest memories of us that I have. While he left us several years ago, the idea of remaking this character never left me and I finally had the inspiration I needed last august, for the result you can see here. As always, comments and criticism is welcome !

    [MOC] The Tarnished

Never show your back to the enemy. Built for GOURD PARTY, a competition with some friends. I temporarily joined in to give them a little trouble during their round. Quick 2-day build. Got the general idea of what I wanted to do, although ran out of time to embellish more. I probably will revisit this eventually and clean up a lot of it. Twitter Post (has some early WIP pics in the comments). Instagram Post
  13. So, here's an idea that's been circling in my head for the past months: Apparently, one of the many reasons fans didn't like the 2005 storyline (I personally loved the aesthetic and themes, even if they were not well executed, and my greatest gripe is how the third movie is completely incompatible with the surrounding media of that year) is because, as a midquel, we already knew what the end result was going to be. And one of the main reasons LEGO insisted on it was to reuse the assets and environments from Metru Nui. So, I wondered: why didn't they make 2005 a direct sequel to Mask of Light? The Matoran were going back to Metru Nui anyway, and it had been abandoned for thousands of years; it'd be perfectly plausible for the Visorak Horde to settle in the meantime and become the next threat to the returning villagers and Toa. Seeing the city overrun and devastated right after hearing about its former greatness and teasing its return might even be a bigger emotional punch (to the character and to the audience) than it all happening in a flashback of a flashback. The Toa Hordika could even be the mutated forms of the Toa Nuva instead to go back to the fan-favorite team, or completely new heroic characters (therefore avoiding the "controversy" of their wildly new looks) who were former victims of the Visorak and followed them around trying to thwart them, becoming allies of the past characters. At that point, the only major unresolved plotlines were how the Toa Metru saved the remaining Matoran Pods in the coliseum (which, if the Horde hadn't moved in yet, didn't need much of an explanation; they just went back and got them) and how Makuta got out of the Toa Seal (which could be explained as the work of the Horde or Makuta breaking free of his own power with time, I don't remember if they established by then how durable the Seal was). What do you guys think? Do you think it could've worked? Do you have any ideas of your own?

  15. Hello everyone, my nickname is Zhokker, I am a fan of lego Bionicle and system since 2007, as soon as I got my first toy. Very interested on 3D modeling of different LEGO parts and LEGO Bionicle. Known among a few people for creating a better version of MoUP and I also have a store on Shapeways. Joined Russian community in 2015, and in foreign community since end of 2019. Took a chance and registered here to keep up with news and updates. Ready to help with your questions about 3D modeling and so on, would love to meet different designers! MuffinToa thanks for the inspiration if you see this. DISCLAIMER: I have no intention to claim all the glory for this design idea. and i'm not trying to commit plagiarism of any kind. 20. Hi everyone! This is the first part of a series of revamps I've recently done of the Phantoka and Mistika sets in the CCBS style of BIONICLE G2. In this thread I'll post my revamps of the six Toa. You can click on the images to go to my flickr profile, where you'll find some more. I have to mention that these are heavily based on [this](https://www.flickr.com/photos/comilarapa/45052680522/in/dateposted/) revamp of Tahu Mistika by Lewis Hammond. Without further ado, here they are! TAHU POHATU ONUA LEWA KOPAKA GALI I hope you enjoy my take on these characters. Next week I'll post my revamps of the six Makuta. Have a nice day! :)
  21. As we all know, vote caused a conflict between Bionicle fans and System fans. The main reason is fact that all of Top 4 series (exept Bionicle) have already some great sets. LEGO Pirates fans have 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay set, LEGO Space fans have 70816 Benny's Spaceship and 21109 Exo-Suit. Fans of Castle series have 21325 Medieval Blacksmith and I'm sure, we'll see some kind of Castle-themed series soon, even without voting. What about LEGO Bionicle fans? After cutting short its story in 2010, and waiting 5 years for proper continuation, LEGO created a reboot that failed in many ways. But gave us great parts to creating MOCs. Unfortunatelly, Bionicle G2 ended in 2017 and since that, it's really hard to get any pieces for normal price. Remnants of LEGO Star Wars buildable figures are expensive cause of license and Bricklink is the only place where we can get CCBS parts now. Bionicle fans are affraid that LEGO will soon destroy moulds from G2, making impossible for us to get bricks like 24189, 24190, 24191 or 20474 that were great for building MOCs. The conflict will increase until LEGO start caring about Bionicle fans. If LEGO doesn't want to give us new sets, it should at least release some jars with CCBS parts in three size variants: Matoran, Toa and Titan, which will contain skeleton parts, shells (not only in standard colors, but sand-green, purple etc. too), weapons, technic joints, technic panels and recolored masks that will allow us to reforge our anger into creativity. Bionicle has great potential to create action figures, giant fantasy creatures and vehicles with lot of technic functions. But it's hard to build MOCs without parts. If there's a LEGO theme like LEGO Classic, we can have LEGO CCBS too. I know, part of system fans doesn't care, but what about you, Bionicle fans? Do you think, there's a chance for CCBS jars or we'll continue to buying sets like Corvette ZR1 just to have parts to create another Rahi? :p
  22. Howdy all! I’d like to show this expansive modular MOC that I’ve worked on and tinkered with for the past couple of months. It’s called BIONICLE Legacy: Storytelling with LEGO Bricks because I aimed to build something that conveyed what the theme represented to many fans, and the impact it had upon release 20 years ago. Even if you haven’t been overly fond of or familiar with the BIONICLE theme, I hope you’ll still take a few moments to check out this project! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/b5456207-ed0d-4f44-a02b-b0dae424158e I’m very hopeful and proud of this project, but it has been struggling to gain the needed attention to progress, and it clearly won’t get very far without your help and support. I greatly appreciate all support, comments, and shares. Fingers crossed! :) Uploading images proved to be a bit tricky, but you can also find higher-res images at Flickr:
  23. [MOC] Nevermore ... (The Raven) Lego Bionicle MOC - Nevermore... (The Raven) by makushima
  24. Hello, dear friends. I've been a fan of the Technic series for a long time. For all the time I can remember only a couple of sets that go beyond construction equipment and cars, one of which 4958 - Monster Dino, from which my acquaintance with the company's products began in ancient times. With my idea, I want to new wave a series of Technic and show that these are not just machines. The proposed model is driven by two pull-back motors. While driving, the bug slowly accelerates and runs a distance of about two meters. Starts with a traditional rollback. After start, the beetle does not just go forward, but moves its legs and moves its head. Vote and join if you also think it's time to add something new to the series of Technic. Support this MOC in Lego Ideas if you like and share my philosophy. https://ideas.lego.com/s/p:f99ce2c31533451f8158f48d9499f944
