    Benoic Farm

Thanks to de Gothia for letting me put this build in Benoic! As usual on the farm, there’s much to be done: feeding, watering, and milking the goats, feeding the chickens, and most importantly: heading back to the house for some breakfast. Lots more pictures here: Link C&C very much appreciated
  2. Sir Edwyn

    The Græskar: Part Two

Part One Sir Edwyn looked around the room, squinting as his eyes adjusted to the dim firelight. “Evidently The Graesker is not here. Ah well, I was not expecting to be able to meet him so easily.” “Nor was I,” his contact replied. “Please sit down, and tell me your plan. There must be a serious matter afoot to force you to seek him.” Edwyn glanced at the door nervously before settling himself on the low wooden stool. “Indeed,” he replied. “You see, there is a certain member on the council whose influence is growing too strong. He is undermining my interests left and right…I find that I am no longer able to reckon with him.” “So you wish to…ah…see his influence removed then, yes?” “Indeed. However, he is a hard target to reach. I’ve heard whispers about a man whose facility for cover arts is beyond description…. never a name, and no one seems to have made contact with him directly. There was an old man who referred me to you, though. He said that you’ve dealt with him before.” “Not directly…” Edwyn sighed wistfully. “So you are just like the others. I am beginning to think he is but a legend.” “No! The Graesker is real enough. Unless of course you are foolish enough to believe that Duke Richtenheim dropped dead on his own accord.” “So you’re the one who was behind that?” “Well I – what was that?” Both men turned around as they heard a low rasping sound emanating from the doorway. “I thought you said no one would find us here!” Edwyn demanded. Suddenly the room grew dark and cold and Sir Edwyn felt as though he was falling into a deep sleep….

    [MOC] Livingroom

A livingroom, probably from the late 70s.
  4. Here's my entry into the Expand the Winter Village contest. I chose to build a sporting goods store selling everything from winter apparel, to snowboards and skis. The shop has a light brick that lights up the showcase window, and the car features opening doors and trunk. I tried to keep it very similar in size, and complexity to an official Winter Village set. Brick's Sporting Goods is a very popular store year round, but especially in the winter. Come inside and buy a new snowboard, visit the hot chocolate and cookie vendor's stall outside, and then enjoy a day of fun in the snow. See more pictures here: link Thanks for looking

    The Red Feather Inn

A collab with my brother, Isaac (soccerkid6), it was built for the Inn category of the CCC. The inn features a full interior via pull out rooms. The Red Feather Inn is a prominent tavern located just outside of Katoren. Several years ago a room was added on to serve as the store room/kitchen and allow for more space in the dining room. It's rumored to be under the guardianship of a powerful genie, which two thieves are just now finding to be true... The pull out rooms: There's lots of detail packed in, so check out more pictures here: link Thanks for looking, C&C welcome
  6. EDIT: The title should be: AoM: Store Phase 2: Danyel's Smithy. If a mod could fix that, it'd be great. An entry into the Castle Goes to Space contest on classic-castle. I chose to redesign the set 5890, Squidman's Pitstop, into a medieval blacksmith shop. I'm really pleased with how this turned out, and it was very fun transforming the space details in the set into medieval features. Danyel is a capable blacksmith that never lacks for work at his smithy, and his wares are often sold by his wife in the market at Daydelon. Space set it's based off of: More pictures here: link. C&C welcome
  7. Like many others, I thought the official Avengers Tower set was great as a playset, but looked a little lackluster on display, and went about Moc-ing my own. [MOC] Townhouses-Dollhouses

I had an idea to build a town diorama, but with completely furnished interiors, so you could see the life of minifigs both outdoors and indoors. So these are the first two buildings I've made. There's an apartment on the first and second floor and a grocery store on the ground floor. I had to hurry up to finish this in time for our exhibition a few weeks ago and I didn't have enough time to furnish this building so I decided they just haven't moved in yet. :) The ground floor will be done soon. The second building is actually made of two semi-detached houses. There are two ladies living in these houses and as you can see from their apartments, they are quite different from each other. Higher resolution photo of the interior can be found here: https://c2.staticfli...441722c1c_o.jpg All suggestions are welcome. My Flickr page: https://www.flickr.c...os/-galadriel-/
  9. ^ The Haunted House set, right..? Well Check again! It's highly modified. It's wider, deeper, and higher. (Go count the extra studs !) I think the original lego-set is one of the alltime best lego has offered till now. It does have room for improvement though... First of all, it's big, but not quite big enough. If you want to make a complete interior it has to become a bit bigger. And to make the exterior complete, I added a big tree. While rebuilding the original I got inspired by Disneyland's Phantom Manor (paris). It kinda looks like it already. Just some details were not quite right. I added the round, doubled, and trippeled windows in the front as wel as another balcony on the right. The real Phantom Manor has the porch run around the left corner for visitors, but I left that out. I still wanted the Dollhouse-opening feature. So, this one really is much bigger, wider, and higher, but to really appreciate that you'll have to compare it next to a photo of the origninal set. As you'll see I left a lot of the original details intact, cause I think Lego did a terrific job. ^ Rightside porch and balcony (the steps have been corrected one stud to the right...) ^ I tried to make it interesting from a lot of angles by creating different scenes. Here a couple is sneaking about, not knowing they are being watched from behind by... ^ The Creature From The Black Lagoon! ^ The Creature from the Black Lagoon has a diorama of it's own. ^ I love the hinged dollhouse style way of opening so I kept that. As you can see I modified every square inch of the interior. But let's look at the one level at a time... To be continued...

    [M-B09] MANTIS Outpost on Serium

Location: B09 - Serium Tags: Civil, Building, Vehicle Job: Explorer MANTIS sent me to Serium this week, to help construct a new communications base. I was glad for the opportunity to get a break from all the exploring I've been doing lately, and I even got to see my Old Friend, Massi Editoro. More pictures here: Link C&C welcome
  11. ^ A little horrorscene I created for my modified Haunted House. A bathtub full of blood and a dead person staring right back at you... While building, it reminded me of the most frightfull scenes I saw when I was just a kid. The bathtub scene in room number 237. Man, I get chills down my spine thinking about it... I know, it wasn't bloody at all. Just shocking. Imagine... You think our embrazing a beautifull naked woman while looking in the mirror to see it is really a decaying but living corpse... That kind of subtlty can't be reproduced in Lego. So I got blood instead... ^ A bathtub full of blood. The golden fountain really isn't my thing. I considder it too much of a toy-piece but it fits the building this scenery is just part of really well... Enjoy! Feel free to comment (I will post pics of the whole building very soon! Just felt that this scenery deserved a thread of it's own. )
  12. Location: C10 - Marden Tags: Civil, Building ~~~~~~~~~~~ OoC: Not really sure this really counts for the Civil tag. If not, I'll happily remove it. This build continues after my Challenge 2, Cat C build and occurs before my last weekly build (which was more than a month ago! Blimey, that time's flown by!) ~~~~~~~~~~~ Following the malfunction with the GATE on AC's ship when leaving Guinevere, AC returned to his office, while his engine expert, Dave, made repairs and checked through the engine's data logs to find the cause of the malfunction. Having finished his checks and repairs, Dave headed up to let AC know what he had found. [Dave] You might want to see this. It's some data recorded on one of the monitoring cameras for the GATE. [AC] Couldn't we have pulled it up on the computer digitally instead of coming all the up here with a data card? [Dave] I wanted to make sure we had a seperate copy that can't be monitored virtually, just in case. [AC] Okay, bring it over here and we'll take a look. [Dave] Remember that spanner we found by the engine? It seems that's what caused the problem. [Dave] It shorted out two of the power couplings. Fortunately, the automatic safety systems prevented any major problems and kept things working. [AC] It sent us off course though. We jumped the right number of Gates, but went in the wrong direction. We were due on Terrial Minor, instead we're orbiting Marden. So why did the spanner hit the power couplings in the first place? There wasn't a problem with the artificial gravity on board at the time was there? [Dave] Not that I've been able to find out. I think that someone threw the spanner between the safety bars and got out of the engine room before we got down there. [AC] Intentional damage then? [Dave] Looks like it to me, but I don't know who. There aren't any cameras down there covering the right angle to see. ~~~~~~~~~~~ OoC: I felt that an office would have been painted nice calming colours rather than sticking with the dark Kawashita colours, especially if the spaceship it was on wasn't neccessarily new when it entered the Kawashita fleet. I did try to keep it spacey with an attempt at spacey sliding doors of sorts and the inclusion of the holo screen behind AC. I was also going to build a section of corridor to go outside the sliding door that Dave's standing in front of, but didn't have time for this week. An overall pic is in the spoiler tag below. Please note the image from the engine's monitoring camera is part of my Challenge 2 build with 3 parts added and should not be included in the judging. Comments welcome (although I apologise for not commenting on other peoples builds very often if at all... Some great stuff is happening in AG and I've only just caught up with it all since a couple of months ago...).
  13. This is my second SHIP ever, it measures in at 106 studs long, and just under 6 pounds. It's quite sturdy and features an interior, opening missile bay, rotating turrets, and working missile launchers. Plus a there's a docking location for a small speeder. The MANTIS corp. has been rapidly producing a heavily armed fleet of spaceships. The Stinger is only a mid sized battle cruiser, but it packs plenty of firepower with it's laser turrets, various missiles, and heavy ion cannon. Standard crew consists of just 6 men thanks to advanced technical systems. Plus it's powerful plasma engines make it one of the faster ships around See lots more pictures on my website: link Thanks for looking
  14. OoC: This is the first part of a short story line I'm going to attempt to build which is currently based before my last weekly build where I mentioned a malfunction with the GATE (Gravitational Anomaly Transport Engine) on my ship. I thought I'd have a go at making some more story driven builds in a style similar to many of the other people playing this game with multiple pictures. There will be slow progress to the story though because I can't build as quick as some here. ~~~~~~~~~~~ One of Kawashita's fleet of spaceships travelling through the Andromeda system was an old cargo ship operated by AC. It had had a small amount of conversion work done to it for use by Construction Crew Delta which was the official name designated to AC's small team of engineers. While it was relatively well maintained, it's age did occassionally show with the odd problem occuring every so often. Having been reassigned by the Kawashita Group board following some work on planet A06, known as Guinevere, AC instructed his ships captain on where they were required to go to next. Just as the ships GATE was activated, a warning sounded indicating a malfunction. Immediately, AC headed down to the engine room with his engine expert, Dave. [AC] Apparently the problem with the engine was here, on level 3. Any idea what happened? [Dave] The computers monitoring the GATE's systems seem to be reading okay again now. They don't seem to be quite as stable as normal, but it's all reading within tolerances. Whatever it was was only temporary, but it's sent us off course and could cause problems over time. I'll have to study the logs in detail to try to work out exactly what it was. How's this section of the engine looking? These bars never give a good view of what's going on. Better than looking through glass though. Too many reflections with that. I'll unlock the gate and we can have a closer look. Just don't get too close to the engine. Hmm... I don't remember leaving that spanner there the last time I did some work in here. You're not the tidiest of people I know. You probably dropped it as you left. Maybe... Some of those power couplings look a little odd. Kind of crooked. I'll have a closer look at them when the engine's deactivated and cooled down. As long as you can get it all sorted. We're needed planet side as soon as we can get there. ~~~~~~~~~~~ OoC: Having taken all the photos and got them on the computer, I've noticed a couple of things I would like to have changed, but ah well. There's two additional pics below showing the overall model without any figs.

  17. Having recently taken inspiration from SearchFunction's 'Living Small' builds, I have finally gotten around to finishing this MOC. It has been rebuilt a few times, reducing the size to try and get the scale right. I would be more happy with more detail on the interior but I am signing this off as finished, so I can move on to my next project. I present to you a Bungalow with Dormer. Currently resided in by Dave the Flower Cart seller. This building comprises of an enterance hall with stairs to the first floor. On the gorund floor, a spacious and well equipt kitchen leads you to the light and very large 'lounge diner', complete with french doors to the garden, bay window to the front, fireplace and an inviting bay window seat. Upstairs we have the large master suite, which has its own sizeable ensuite bathroom. It took me ages to get the roof to sit correctly. It is largely based on SearchFunctions plate design, however i have added some 2x2 tiles to try and get that slate roof effect. I did have skylights in one version of the second floor but it didnt give me much room to work with so I went with the dormers instead. Planning out the top floor was very tricky due to where the stairs came up and not eating into the bedroom too much with unnessecary walls and corridors. With regards to the large amount of Tan... this is what happens when you buy the Tower Bridge as your first set for building mocs with. Hey ho, it doesnt look too bad, Struggled with detailing the exterior, hopefully the next one will be better right? There are more pictures on my Flickr account. C&C always welcome and thats again to SearchFunction for the inspiration. [ MOC ] S Villa

I am thrilled to know that my entry to the Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2015 LEGO Competition was shortlisted! This year, the topic is "Ideal Home (Interior Design)" (weird title with the confusing brackets, I know!), and since I like building houses, I thought I might give it a try this year. The show ended two days ago and while my submission did not get into the top three, I still got 4th in the judge scoring and I am already happy to be on the stage this year with the other awesome builders! My build is called "S Villa" (previously named Box iN during submission), which is my dream home in the brick city. The design is based on the concept of a garden. To me, home should be a place separated from the hustle and bustle of the city. Instead of being trapped inside another building, the occupants probably want to have their own personal outdoor space, meaning a garden. Therefore, the concept is a central garden with rooms arranged around it. Above is the program of the house, with different rooms arranged around the garden. Here is the final look of it, showing its front facade: The center garden is here, with some pebbles forming a loop path: The arrangement of rooms start from the living room, which is directly facing the garden. It is first place I enter when I arrive home, and I want this to be a relaxing place without TV to distract me. Further in is the kitchen and dining area, the latter which extends out to share the same garden view: The opposite side of dining room is the corridor leading to guest toilets and back door, where you can reach the garage. The staircase forms right above the main entrance, and I refuse to use a stacking type of staircase so that the staircase is like a room itself, creating a middle platform as a buffer to the upper private rooms. The black box, which is my studio, is located at the first stop of the staircase. Inside there are my desk and personal theater. Now this is the place I enjoy TV shows and movies. Going further up is the bedroom and lavatory. If you see closely, you will see I put the rooms that require quiet space, ie dining room and bedroom, away from the street, using the staircase circulation as the buffer separation to kill any noise from outside. The bedroom is a simple one, with an extended balcony next to it. My concept of monochrome design comes from the idea that a building can be simple and neutral-colored so that people focus on its form and shapes. All the colors then come from the inside, where people live, because life is colorful. Without us, there can be no color. We, are the colors. The space underneath the black box is recessed in as a garage. I also made a little extention behind it to put the tools for the garage. S Villa is the house for me and my wife, and the name contains the first letters of our names. Originally it was named "Box iN" during the submission since the idea is about the inner garden. With this design, I hope to inspire people that a house can be simple in geometry, and also functional in use. Hope you enjoy this building and its architectural concepts! More photos at:

    Old Bagshaw's Residence

Old Bagshaw's Residence Chapter I: The Tranquil Meadow Chapter II: Old Bagshaw's Residence Chapter III: The Poacher Chapter IV: Making Camp Chapter V: Solitary Council Chapter VI: Escaping Home Chapter VII: Waylaid Chapter VIII: Archery Practice Chapter IX: Honour the Fallen Bonus Landscape: Avalonian Countryside Sir Darby knocked on the door to Sir Bagshaw's study, his dark brown hair was slightly damp from the light rain. Over all the years this was his first time at Sir Bagshaw's private residence. The old knight had always taken his audiences in his room in the castle. Sir Darby had gone there first only to find that he wasn't there, and hadn't been there for the past few days, if the guards were to be believed. It was not like Sir Bagshaw to be scared of a little rain, but maybe age was finally getting to him. - 'Come on in' came the answer from the other side of the door. Sir Darby entered. The room was simple, but functional. Clearly a room of comfort rather than for official business. And yet, here he was. Sir Bagshaw, a white-haired, balding man, clad in shirt and jacket, rose from his chair and greeted him. - 'Rikkard!' exclaimed Sir Bagshaw. 'What took you so long?' Sir Darby was taken aback at this greeting. There had been no summons in the letter he had received. Why was Sir Bagshaw expecting him, and if he was expecting him, why was he at home? Whatever the reason, they had business to discuss. - 'Sir, I received your orders the day before yesterday, but I...' - 'You have some questions?' interrupted Sir Bagshaw. 'Of course you do. Those orders are garbage. So, what do you need to know?' Again, Sir Darby was caught off guard. Sir Bagshaw knew the orders were poorly made, but he still sent them out? Something was wrong here. - 'Well, I was wondering about this threat to Newquay. What is it that we are to protect the colony from?' - 'The forest.' - 'The forest? There are enemies hiding in the forest, threatening the colony?' - 'We don't know. We got a request from Lord Cowden for aid as they have lost several people to the woods.' - 'So we don't know if there's a real threat out there? These people might have just gotten lost in the mist.' Sir Darby had heard rumors of the forest being dangerous, but he did not think a Lord would dare to ask for help based on superstition. But maybe it was more than mere superstition. Why else risk looking weak and foolish by sending such a request? - 'There is a threat. People are disappearing. These people have been chopping trees on the isle for years, and they have been fine until now. The only thing that has changed is that there is now a colony on the island.' - 'Lord Cowden being in charge is another thing that has changed.' Sir Bagshaw looked at him with a smile. - 'You sure keep yourself well informed, even while cooped up in that little cottage of yours.' - 'It's a nice cottage, Sir.' Sir Bagshaw let out a small chuckle, and for a while Sir Darby thought he saw him return to his normal self. It did not last though. - 'It is, and yes, you are right. Lord Cowden is a new factor as well. In any case there is a threat, just that we don't know what it is.' - 'So how will I be able to pick my men appropriately without knowing what we are up against?' Sir Darby had always prided himself with knowing his men and handpicking the right people for the job. Even the mightiest of men could only do so much alone, and so handling the people under him was of utmost importance. - 'You won't.' - 'I won't? You mean you are going to pick my men for me?' - 'No, we are not.' Sir Darby stood in silent confusion. - 'We are not sending any men', clarified Sir Bagshaw. 'We are just sending a man.' It took Sir Darby a while to understand what he had just heard. They were going to send him alone? - 'Why?', Sir Darby managed to get out. - 'We can't spare the men.' - 'So how am I to defend a colony against an unknown threat with no men?' - 'Investigate the threat. Draw a conclusion. Gather the resources to solve the problem. If you need men, there are plenty of men under Lord Cowden.' - 'They are civilians! They are not up to the task, or we wouldn't have gotten this request in the first place.' - 'Then make them up to the task. You are a seasoned trainer, are you not?' Sir Darby looked at him in disbelief. How could they treat him like this? What was Sir Bagshaw thinking. Sir Darby looked him in the eyes trying to figure out what he was thinking. Sir Bagshaw's eyes showed irritation, but also... pity? Sir Bagshaw was not one to pity the men he dispatched. Unless... he did not agree with this order and pitied Sir Darby for having received it? This order did not come from Sir Bagshaw then? In that case arguing would be fruitless. Sir Bagshaw would not betray his orders, and Sir Darby thought him better for it. No, this was over both their heads, and Sir Darby needed to concern himself with managing the precarious situation he was now in, whether he liked it or not. He needed a new angle. - 'So, I am charged with the defense of Newquay and I am to handle this charge alone, is that correct?' - 'I'm afraid so.' - 'But if, say, some good men were to independently request a transfer to Newquay, you would probably be kind enough to grant them their requests, wouldn't you?' Sir Darby could see irritation on Sir Bagshaw's face melt away and give way to relief. So, his irritation had been with the fact that Sir Darby didn't fully grasp the situation until now? - 'You know me. I am a kind man and I would see no reason to deny their requests. And, if that happened, I don't see any reason why you couldn't all just travel together. You would be going the same direction after all.' - 'We certainly would', replied Sir Darby, failing to suppress a smile. - 'Of course, I wouldn't think too many people would put in such a request, considering that the Isles is a pretty undesirable posting. Perhaps two, maybe three people? If I received more requests than that, that would be quite extraordinary, and of course there is nothing extraordinary going on here, is there?' - 'Not a thing', replied Sir Darby. Sir Bagshaw clearly didn't wish to stir up any trouble, and he was probably under close watch by someone. But now was not the time to find out. Sir Darby had to go, and without knowing the reason why. He could start poking around, but that would raise suspicion, and judging by Sir Bagshaw's behavior that might be a fatal mistake to make right now. Better to play along and let whoever was manipulating this situation think they've won. That way he could take his time to understand what was going on, and, if need be, strike at an opportune moment and catch his enemy unaware. - 'Well, that clears up that then', said Sir Bagshaw stretching out his hand. 'Safe travels, Sir.' Sir Darby shook his hand. - 'Good day, Sir. Until we meet again.' Sir Darby turned around and left. Things looked worse than they had done on his way in, but in reality he was now much better off. He now understood the predicament he was in more clearly, and he would be able to bring a couple of men with him, even though they would officially be Lord Cowden's men. Three men versus being alone would make a huge difference, not least of all on the road, and Sir Darby knew exactly who to ask. Also, he knew he had someone he could trust in the capital. Sir Bagshaw hadn't done a bad job on that report. He had botched it on purpose, to make sure Sir Darby came to see him before heading out. Sir Darby smiled to himself. He might be in the middle of someone's manipulative game, but he was feeling more alive than he had in a long time. He loved his family and the peaceful life at the estate, but the battlefield was where he belonged. And this was a battlefield, just a slightly different one than what he was used to. It had just been a couple of minutes since Sir Darby left the Bagshaw residence, when a hooded man entered Sir Bagshaw's study, unannounced. The man was plainly dressed, the choice of clothing for those who wished to move around without raising suspicion. Sir Bagshaw's countenance soured visibly at the sight of the man. - 'You listened in?' he asked the man, not really expecting an answer. 'You don't trust me?' - 'Would you? We are strong-arming you after all. You handled it well though. But why did you meet him here?' - 'You needed him to believe I was on his side, did you not? I did things the way I needed to in order to accomplish that.' - 'You let him have a couple of men.' - 'Again, he needed to trust me. And the men will be Lord Cowden's men, not his. In any case, I can just reject their requests when I get them if you want.' The man paused for a while, considering. - 'Let him have them. Since you already offered, it would be suspicious if you would deny the requests. But don't take liberties like that again, or I will have to get more drastic.' Sir Bagshaw clenched his teeth. - 'Don't you threaten me', he snarled. The man gave a wry smile. - 'Threats are the basis of our whole relationship. Or were you under the impression that you were helping me out of free will? I know you. I know how to hurt you, and I will, unless you do as I say. So yes, I will continue to threaten you, and you will continue to be my loyal dog.' The man turned to go. - 'You better hope this works out the way you think... dog.' The door closed behind him. - 'You think you know me?', Sir Bagshaw thought as the door closed. 'Well, I know you, Kaliphlin. I could recognise that ostrich rider gait of your's a mile away. You'll learn, I am nobody's dog.' Once outside, the hooded man had a look around and then trotted off down the road. A young man came up alongside him. - 'How did it go, Sir?', he asked. - 'Our dog barks', was the reply. 'Make sure he doesn't bite.' - 'Yes, Sir.' - 'But leave him physically able, or he will be of no use to us.' - 'Like in Samrd'dha, Sir?' - 'Yes, that should do it.' At once the young man turned and headed back toward the Bagshaw residence. The hooded man couldn't help but smile to himself at what was about to happen. - 'You will know your place, dog.' *** My first attempt at an interior build, and obviously heavily influenced by everything I've seen around here. By the way, is a person from Kaliphlin called a 'Kaliphlin'? Or is there some other term to use? I would also like to request UoP DoH credits for the following: General Building: Interior Design. Hope you like the build :)

    [M - A06] Departure from the Dropship.

Activity - Exploration. Location - Guinevere - A06 The overall strategy of MANTIS™ HQ was being revealed with each planet its associates occupied. They had dashed a straight line to Guinevere, a humble volcanic desert planet with one huge attraction to explorers and conquerors alike, GOLD. Yes, mighty MANTIS™ needed gold. And it seemed that a rival corporation, Kawashita, needed gold too, as they had also made a beeline to planet A06! Previously, Mark of Orion had successfully survived a harrowing mission on Yallorn II. As a reward for his brave service in shooting a dangerous pest, he was transferred to the First Branch Division Exploration Team. Captain Brutus checked the sight on his MANTIS™ Death Ray Blaster© "So, Spikes, what do you think of the new transfers?" Spikes took a long sip from his glowing flask. "Hard to say Brutus, If they survive this mission they should be able to handle anything!" "You got THAT right. Lew is from Special Forces, he should be ok. Malcolm is a newbie and he probably won't be ok... What about this Mark guy? His resume said "extensive interstellar piracy experience"! I think he'll fit right in!" Spikes spat out his second sip. PHHIFF! "Cough-cough"... "Wait, Mark? As in, Orion?" "Yeah, you heard of 'im?" "Yes! I had the misfortune to run into him and his ship on a trader just off of Rallawok III a few years back!" Brutus raised his only eyebrow. A bionic implant rested in the socket of the other eye. "What happened?!" Spikes grinned as he wiped the green liquid from his stubbled mouth. "Don't ask. Just know if he's with us, we should do well." Brutus inspected his new crew with his single critical eye. "Looking right, rough, and ready, men!... Wait a second! Lew, that flame-job decal on your helmet is NOT up to regulation..." Lew looked furious. "SO?!?" Brutus grinned. "Haha! Right answer! I like a brave trooper! You can keep it, Lew! All right troops, grab what gear you want! Don't carry more than you need!" The MANTIS™ operatives quickly picked out their favorite weapons and scanners. Lew and Malcolm snatched some Phasers. Mark grabbed his favorite MANTIS™ Death Ray Blaster© and Bert picked up a long-range handheld scanner. Bert looked around nervously. "Uh, hey. You didn't taste anything weird in the cafeteria lunch yesterday, did you?" Mark didn't look surprised. "Nope, I don't usually eat at the cafeteria..." "Well I haven't felt right since! I think it was those maggots." "That's why I don't usually eat at the cafeteria..." Brutus bellowed in his deep scratchy voice. "Ok, guys gather 'round! We're gonna have a little "pep-talk"!" "Ok, As you know, Kawashita is just as interested in this planet as we are. They could potentially have drones, ground troops, and their famous battle mechs on the surface already..." If you see ANYTHING with different corporate colors than ours, shoot first and ask questions later. I'm sure they will be doing the same. Unless you are totally outgunned, in which case, retreat as fast as possible. Get in, find gold, and get out! Understood?!" Brutus nodded to Spikes. "Open the door!" The armored visor on Brutus' helmet snapped shut. "And remember, DON'T GET KILLED! The entire previous crew DID! Let's go!" With that stirring speech, Brutus leapt out the open doorway! The entire crew (aside from Spikes) followed suit. Mark of Orion was beginning to wonder what he had gotten into... To Be Continued! (Begin commentary) Man! This AG stuff is addicting! Really enjoying this purposeful and exciting foray into the sci-fi genre!
