  1. This is my first post since I'm a new AFOL to Eurobricks. I have been building for just over a year now, my area of interest is cars & machinery, I have exhibited at one show recently in Australia & throughly enjoyed the experience of sharing our hobby.... Thought I would post a couple of my recent builds. A Morgan 3-Wheeler based on the current Brooklands Edition - thanks to Nico71 for the basics. please note this is still in progress - wheels yet to be completed in black chrome. A '32 Ford Tudor hotrod - thanks to Doc Brown for the plans A big thanks to Auri @ Chrome Block City for his patience & understanding for my endless special requests. I hope you enjoy. [MOC] 1966 Ford GT40 MKI

I made Mention in my last MOC thread about building a car from "yesteryear" well after looking over many great cars from the 60s and 70s i settled on the Iconic Ford GT40, in particular the 1966 MKI. *History Lesson* As Many racing fans know the Ford GT40 holds quite an amazing chapter in Le Mans history. starting in 1966 the GT40 had come out of its development years and was primed to dominate the endurance racing scene. the MKII would win 24 hours of Daytona along with 2nd and 3rd. Sebring was another 1, 2, 3 finish for the Ford cars with the X-1 Roadster taking the over all. at Le Mans of 1966 the GT40 was running 1, and 2 late in the race and in an attempt to keep both Drivers happy with the result Ford tried to arrange a tie. Driver Ken Miles was however not satisfied with a tie, and in protest to Ford slowed his car in the final straight still taking second but removing what could have been an amazing side by side finish. 1967 was equally as successful with the MKVI taking Le Mans. in 1968 a rule change was applied that limited engine size and eliminated the MKII, MKIII and MKIV, leaving the older MKI cars still eligible. this change in rules left the MKI in great position for the season and lead to a Championship for Makes victory for Ford. the following year would be the end of the GT40s reign being almost 6 years older than its competitors. in a very close battle with Porsche's 908 the Ford GT would win but by mere seconds unlike previous years. the most remarkable detail of the 68, and 69 victories is that it was achieved by the exact same car - the legendary GT40P/1075. this to date is the only Car to win the 24hours of Le Mans twice. *end of history lesson* I've spent quite a lot of time on this one, more than my previous cars combined. with the history of the car, and my long standing appreciation of the car i had to get it right. My model is 16studs long and only 3 bricks 2 plates tall. so, without further ado here is my LEGO 1966 Ford GT40 MKI (road car). *Update: revised headlights to better match those found on the actual car* Ford GT40 headlights 2.0 as always, I hope you enjoyed my build, there are more pictures of the car in my Flickr, for those that want to see more. Comments and critiques welcomed!
  4. I went retro this time around and decided to build something as big as I could without compromising the look. Chopp3Rod is the result of many hours of work, sporting both an attractive interior and exterior. The wheels are driven by independent direct drive via two Large Motors. A complex program allows the drivetrain to mimic a differential since a real differential was not used. Therefore it has an electronic differential! It sports many details, including a V12 engine, transparent lights, a Color Sensor headlight, comfy seats, clear quarter-panel windows, side exhaust, curvy wheel arches, rear tonneau cover, custom wheel hubs, and more! I am really happy with this model and how it turned out.
  5. This is Benny the 1980-something Space Guy's apartment. It features a garage on the lower floor for his Lego Classic Space - styled Car. The style of the set is based off half of set 6390, a Classic Town set from 1980. (This set was re-released in 2003 under the short-lived Lego LEGENDS line as set 10041.) Also, unlike most of my buildings, Benny's apartment does not open like a dollhouse, but features removable levels to accesses the inside, much like a modular building. The numbers "60" should go on the stud next to the door, as provided by this piece: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=3070bpb003 The rear of the building is a solid brick wall. (now I'm thinking of that Pink Floyd song "Another Brick in The Wall") The lower floor features Benny's Classic Space-themed car. The upper floor features a layout with miniature buildings, a bed, side-table with lamp, computer, a micro-model of Benny's SPACESHIP! LEGO set and a 1980's telephone. The arch on Benny's LEGO layout features this printed piece courtesy of Astro Kitty: http://www.bricklink....asp?P=4490pb02 This Classic Space car features: -Trans-Yellow glass / headlights -Classic space logo on the rear of the car -Classic Space accurate color scheme The rear features the (printed!) classic space logo from Benny Spaceship: http://www.bricklink...sp?P=30363pb021 Here is the LDD file for the car and building: http://www.mocpages....1425153749m.lxf
  6. Hello this is my first MOC on this forum. This is only my second fully self MOC, so I treated it for training purposes. The assumption is, to put all the mechanisms as tight as possible and connect pneumatic with electrical systems. Another task that I set for myself is a removable body. Body is connected to the chassis on seven accessible pins, also have to disconnect the power to the lighting and pneumatic for lifting door. For some time, i was thinking to create a progressive suspension of lego. Which has two operating ranges. Is sensitive and precise on a level surface. But it works fine even on rough terrain. The combination of spring and pneumatics gave such an effect and it works very good. Most difficulties caused me to prevail over the steering and drive moving at such a high pitch, and quite a bit of weight of the vehicle. I am aware that it is far from perfect, but it works. Description Weight 2 kg 2 x battery PF Drive 4 x PFL 2 compressor pump 6l and motor PFM The steering servo PF Pneumatically adjustable suspension two large cylinders of the engine controlled PFM Airtank The door opened up two small pneumatic actuators (manual) PF 2x LED Lights Automatic low pressure valve actuator and electric switch of the old type. The trunk opened manually. Movie Full Gallery http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=549113

    [MOC] Suburb from the 70s

In this scene I wanted to create something atmospheric and mystical combined with a feeling of the 70s.
  9. Hi everyone, this is my usual quarterly post here. ;-) Just kidding. Note to myself: Post more often on EB! Now to something completely different. I did a few new Mocs during the cold and dark december days. Let's start with something for my petrochemical refinery in my town: a dry powder fire truck with 6,000 kg of solid extinguishing agent in two huge tanks. The next one is also part of the petrochemical fire services. It's a huge tanker truck that brings 23,000 liters of foam to the scene. BTW, actual I'm not really happy with parts use of the ladder at the rear end. I have a few ideas, but the required parts are actual out of stock... As a feature it has a tiltable cabin. For those who wonder: the big pipe behind the cabin is part of a portable water/foam cannon. The third one replaces an old van used for technical assistances. This one features, beside an 4WD, a lot more space for equipment in the compartments. The volunteers of the municipal fire department features a special task force to light up scenes at night. Equipped with different floodlights, a power generator and portable lamp posts. The volunteers can be deployed all over the city and its surroundings. Another small truck of the logistics group And finally a small "Unimog"-look-alike truck that is now part of the FD's historical heritage. Built in the late 1960s (note the old paint scheme) to support the firemen in need of technical assistance, e.g. car accidents, incidents on and beside the water. The last point is the reason why it is equipped with wide sand tires. That makes the truck able to drive on loose terrain, like on sand, dunes or mud flat. Hope you like them a bit. Critics & comments are very welcome. Brit red regards!
  10. Hi there, I'm a "new" builder with not a lot of experience in building MOCs. I started this project to sort of get the feel of building a super car, since I've never really built one before. As you can see, it isn't the prettiest of cars, It's a little too boxy and there are a bit too many stacked liftarms. I focused more on the functions then the looks, I'm sure my next super car will look a lot better. Specs: - 2 L motors for RWD with differential. - 1 Servo motor for steering. - 4-speed manual gearbox (Sariel's Enzo gearbox). - Front and rear independent suspension. - Working V8 This was a great experiment to see how well I would do, and I think it's ok for my first try . Also, I learned that it is definitely better to use XL motors for big vehicles, this car doesn't have enough strength to run at full speed on the 3rd and 4th gears. Pictures: V8, receiver and battery box Easy to take off hood Not very detailed interior Underside I'm gonna try and make a video soon. Thanks for reading, any suggestions or comments are welcome!

    MOC: NISSAN GT-R LM NISMO

So, Nissan has revealed its newest racing machine, the GT-R LM NISMO. its front engined V6 Twin Turbo, and Front wheel drive. oh but wait its also Electric and All Wheel Drive! that makes it uniquely FF/E-AWD with a combined power output of 1250 BHP. and just a day after the first images appeared here it is in LEGO form! (reference image included at the bottom) NISSAN GT-R LM NISMO (7) by kayjeb, on Flickr NISSAN GT-R LM NISMO (6) by kayjeb, on Flickr NISSAN GT-R LM NISMO (4) by kayjeb, on Flickr NISSAN GT-R LM NISMO (3) by kayjeb, on Flickr NISSAN GT-R LM NISMO (1) by kayjeb, on Flickr So, there it is, 8-wide and fits a mini-fig with helmet! the car is only 4 bricks tall from the ground, and 19 studs long. Originally this was a 6-wide, to match the current city race car, and the upcoming Speed Champion cars. but it never really felt right that way. I think 8 wide was the right choice. Comments and critiques welcomed! Real Car Reference image.

    Ford mustang.

Hello. This is my first MOC at the site. I decided to build Ken Block's ford mustang and to show it to you. The building had taken about five days before I finished the car. The hardest was the creating of the rear end.

    New Wheel Styles

Hey guys, I have found out you can use the minifgure style head piece inside of wheels to add some extra detail to some vehicles. Sorry in advance for slightly blurry images I wasn't using the best camera and I have unsteady hands. Style 1: IMG_20150207_124635620 by Railco1, on Flickr Style 2: IMG_20150207_125438985 by Railco1, on Flickr Hope you like these i think they are kind of cool, you do not need to include a 1x1 round plate but I did for a little color in the rim. -RailCo NOTE: You cannot do these with the new style wheels that clip in you can use them on the new ones that use an axle as shown. [How you can use it for trains!]: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=105603
  14. Let's continue posting here on EB with yet another historical LEGO model of mine. This time it's a one of a kind supercar - Maybach Exelero. I know - it should be black. But as I said in the other post - I didn't have many pieces to work with in other colors back in 2009. I only had white. But I liked the model - so I built it. That simple. Done. :) I also did a logo stand which I think turned out quite good. For that I have to say thanks to another great LEGO car builder - Ryan Link. He did an excellent logo stand for his Saleen and Ferrari. Of course - model features openable doors and hood. Thou I didn't find any picture if the trunk (if there is such) does open. So... I didn't do that. If you can find a pic of it open, or a statement that it doesn't (or you know by fact that it doesn't) - please let me know. Who knows - maybe I'll give the model another shot cause the way I work around the model now has changed a lot. And we do have wider variety of pieces now too. For instance - we didn't have 1x3 tiles back then. Now we do. And would have used some of those for the integrated spoilers. Ok.. this is more or less it for now. As always - you can see more pics on my Flicker album. https://www.flickr.c...57624577420820/ Hope you still like it. See ya next time. Cheers.
  15. Everyone, It's taken me a while to get this up here, but this is my first ever MOC. I wanted to build a car, but I wanted to build something unique. Then when I was flicking through a car book I was inspired. Something Australian (like me) , and unique (like me). A ute. Even more relevantly, they will be stopping manufacture in a couple of years time. My MOC is based on approximately the VE Commodore, which when it is not made of plastic, is still made of plastic and steel and looks like this: It is RC, and uses two XL motors for drive and a servo for steering. No gearbox. That's a bit scary. There's also a fake V8 motor, driven by the two XL's. It also has an opening boot lid using a linear actuator. And the moment you have been waiting for, the pictures. I think my picture taking is improving. It is built mostly from 8070, 42000 and 42029, since I'm still building my parts collection. Lets hear it for cheap red panels. I'm very keen for everyone's feedback. 2014-12-27 18.01.21 by veryrusty82, on Flickr 2014-12-27 18.07.07 by veryrusty82, on Flickr 2014-12-27 18.04.08 by veryrusty82, on Flickr 2014-12-27 18.06.01 by veryrusty82, on Flickr 2014-12-27 18.03.35 by veryrusty82, on Flickr 2014-12-27 18.02.16 by veryrusty82, on Flickr There are a couple of more photos in my flickr album. Zombie Wedding

When I finished this vintage limo i placed a zombie minifig driver to check it, which was simply the closest minifig to me, and the next second I came to this Idea about Zombie wedding. It made me laugh and I want to share it with you. I also add it to Lego.Ideas, so if you like it pls vote here https://ideas.lego.com/projects/91347
  17. Some time ago I saw a WIP of a Toyota Prius (yes RM8, another yota) and was fascinated by this project. It was an LPE+buggy motor hybrid but it was not finished and it is still not done. The link is here: So in maybe august I converted my HOG trophy truck chassis into a hybrid with a V2 LPE + an XL motor, but sadly this project was a total fail since there were a lot of gears slipping. So no pics or vid I was wondering if anyone has ever done something similar or is planning to ? Epic Technic
  18. Hello, I started building new MOC i wanned it to be a drift car. I was done building a chassis, but when I tested it, it didn't drift only drove normal. what I did to my car: put duck tape on rear wheels use one and two xl motors tried to gear down to 40:8(1xl motor) | 20:12 (2xl motors) rear wheels spins faster than front front wheels with diff

    MOC - friendly Corvette 1957

Let Andrea take you today for the little time trip to the classic era, back in America! There are some excellent Vettes' models, but I havent noticed this specific one in this scale - 6-wide Chevrolet Corvette 1957 convertible. This is the first non heavy duty car of my collection, due to the wheels mounting and fragile parts of body, sticked by one stud, like rear fenders. It was tricky to make the openable doors and maintain the thin gap between doors and rear wheels, but the final effect is satisfatory to me. Thanks to Aurie from Chrome Block City the car shines like a christmas tree, but it gives the required look, I think ;). My personal favourite. Of course, there are still some disadvantages: Yellow 1x2 panels with the "foot holder" instead of white ones - quite rare in my country, on BL wanted list, obviously. Central part of front bumpers - the red 2x1 plates with arms up are temporary, I'd like to take a try with the chrome knives in 1x1 horizontal clips, but still failed to hunt them down (there are so many single parts available in separate stores, can't afford to buy them all :)). Wheels! Both look (I don't have experience with custom wheels, I have to take some lessons from the master ER0L ;)) and mounting - sticking via 1x1 round plate to the half-pin isn't too effective, I will have to research the possibility of using bars 3L / wheels on full pin. Rear lights? Whooops... But hell, who needs them, the chrome exhausts look much better ;). More shots on my flick page. My previous presentations:

    Caterham Super 7's

Hi all, thought I'd share these here as I've managed to finish these 2 projects today. Initially started off with the green / silver version, wanting to get the tubular chassis within the body shell. Its there, you just cant see it with the engine in! Anyhow, a colleague of mine at work saw the work in progress pics of it and asked if I could build his car for him, hence the yellow version. He didnt want the removable bonnet and engine details so the models do vary in how they are built. His has a removable nose cone and door pannels, whilst my own version has removable, well just about evrything with all internal detailing hopefully where it should be, so it strips down pretty much like the original car. Both are buildable in the colours pictured, (apart from you cant get yellow 1x2x2 slopes) the light grey has been sprayed metalic silver, I think most of the parts done like that on the yellow version are obtainable in orginal met silver LEGO parts. A white R500 is 100% buildable in obtainable parts and may be another model I do. Link to Flickr album: Cars: They have both been a real joy to build, hope you like them Carl
  21. Note: This only includes WIP pictures as the final pictures got deleted. After months of silence, I have finally finished. The Soul Sucker Weekend Racer. Version 1.0 An overly ambitious project using most of my parts, time and mental stability. It has PF M motor x3 (2x for drive, 1x for steering), receiver x1. The idea of this was to have a removable body, engine, transmission, seats, and rear end. I realized during the build that i was in over my head, but kept going, and got burned out half way, dragging out to the finish. More at https://www.bricksafe.com/pages/weavil/2014/weekend-racer and https://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=546161
  22. Jake and Prof. Hale need a vehicle to get around when adventure calls. The Ranger is equipped for all terrain environments and is also road legal. With this work-horse of a car they can reach any site they wish. I do love building cars. Adventure cars are my favourite. While I was building new minifigures for Adventurers and making custom adventurer/explorer figures I decided to smarted Prof. Hale up a little. The entire look is taken from this photo: This is a photograph of Howard Carter at the dig for the tomb of Tutankhamun. (He's the one in the bowler hat, not the fez...) When I found the suit torso I just had to use it, though I can't be sure of colour accuracy!

    MOC: Rat Runner

The Rat Runner is a pacey little car that can be loaded onto any number of larger vehicles for easy transport across longer distances. After all, in the criminal activity trade a man needs to move from place to faraway place very often. I suppose it is because the sets I owned with Sam Sinister always had a small car, I put him as a small car kind of guy. Another of my Adventurer revisits, this one is a mixture of the number of little cars Sam Sinister drove. Sam Sinister was always a sharp dresser, so the "violinist" suit and top hat were the choice for this figure.I gave him a chunkier gun as I always imagined him of an almost Joker like figure with some very odd weapons.
  24. This is my first topic so sorry if it is not perfect. Sorry for the pics but I don't know how to post them directly. Back in March (I think) I made this red red super car. I made the chassis first but it was not extremely strong, but I ignored that and built the body on top of it. I started with the front hood first and I managed to make it detachable, then I made the rest of the body but making it detachable was too big of a hassle. The front was not inspired by anything in particular but the angle reminds me of a Lamborghini Countach, and the rear was inspired by a Gallardo. Of course in Lego tradition it was mainly red. It has HOG steering and a working model V8 mounted at the front of the car. It has full double wishbone independent suspension and RWD. The front: https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing Front, side view: https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing Side view: https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing Front without cover: https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing Inside: https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing This car has been destroyed, so no video. Thanks, Epic Technic
  25. Hi everybody ! NickAb and I would like to present you our new collaborative project based on the 2011 movie The Green Hornet. The set has been designed like an official superheroes set. My main inspirations were the old Spider-man sets #4850 and #4853, and the Catwoman Catcycle City Chase. The minifigs : The Original decals have been created by NickAb. I've tried to attach importance to the renderings so as to give all the prestige that this car deserves. The old Spider-man 2 set #4855 gave me the idea of the Daily Sentinel newspaper with the Tile 2x2 of the Daily Buggle : More renders and High-resolution pictures are available on Flickr : https://www.flickr.c...57646706187513/ We hope you will enjoy this project. If you like it, feel free to support it on LEGO Ideas : https://ideas.lego.com/projects/84137
