  1. A while ago i bought the Whomping Willow set as an effort to complete my Hogwarts Collection. A lot can be done better and more detailed on this set, but for now i decided to just give the car a little rework. I know the car was designed by Lego for durability and playability but i really didn´t like that odd roof. So i decided to take matters (and bricks) into my own hands and redesign the car: 20210228_172918 20210228_172819 20210228_172853 As you can see, i incorporated a lot of slightly mismatching colors into the car since the one in the movie isn´t exactly brand new...to describe it politely. The car has dings, dents, and spotty paint. I also tried to detail the interior a bit. It still might not fit 4 minifigs, but at least 2 can be seated and some luggage can be put behind the seats...and yes, the back rests can be adjusted. 20210228_163455 As you know, the car gets quite a beating from the Whomping Willow after it crashes into the tree, so i decided to "demolish" it. 20210228_163132 20210228_163005 20210228_162937 I hope you guys like my version.     Graphics For Speed Champions MOCs

    I don't really mind stickers in sets too much. Obviously I prefer (and greatly value) prints instead, but stickers make sense to me, especially when introducing 20 new prints would make a Speed Champions set impossibly expensive. What I DON'T like is stickers being used to represent features that could, and should, be brick-built instead. I feel as if the early SC sets were particularly guilty of making headlights, taillights, exhaust pipes, vents, and all sorts of physical details out of stickers instead, and it's a real bummer. However, when stickers are only used to represent a livery or manufacturer branding or whatever, that's perfectly fine and even exciting to me. So, having explained my personal thoughts about stickers in SC sets, I'd like to show off a few of my own MOCs that I have designed custom graphics for. In all of these cars, the graphics are PURELY for liveries and advertisements and such. All physical details are still brick-built and the cars work perfectly fine with no graphics at all. Also, I do in several cases use STAMPS (STickers Across Multiple PartS). I know this is contentious and I personally dislike it in official sets since it makes taking them apart extremely annoying, but I don't typically take apart my own MOCs when they're completed, so I don't mind using such a thing on my own builds. Again, just explaining my process and apologizing in advance if you dislike the idea. First up is my Hoonicorn V1. You can see the complete, non-stickered version of my MOC here. This is a really popular model for Speed Champions MOCers because LEGO built their own version of this to give to Hoonigan Racing's Ken Block (driver of the real car) as a gift, so we all had the same inspiration and template to work from. As a result, many people make sticker sheets to make the LEGO model match the branding on the real car. I decided to do something different and design LEGO-centric in-universe branding to put on the car instead. This thing is full of references to LEGO, which I will detail: HOONIGAN replaced with HOONIKITTY. FORD logo replaced with the classic 1950s LEGO logo, recolored The skull on the roof is replaced with the classic LEGO skull. The crossed bones behind it are from the latest version of the Jolly Roger flag from 21322: Pirates of Barracuda Bay. Monster Energy branding is replaced with Vita RUSH branding, which is LEGO's in-universe sport beverage company (and racing team sponsor). Toyo Tires branding is replaced with Nutrax Tyres, a brand that was advertised on the red car in 8198: Ramp Crash. Smooth Oil and Heavy Cargo are brand advertised on 42041: Race Truck. Spark is advertised on the side of 75884: Ford Mustang Fastback. ENgyne and TOOLS are advertised on the side of ]60218: Desert Rally Racer. The pony badge in the grill is a LEGO horse in profile. I had a lot of fun with that, so I decided to do another. I had built a gasser variant of my '64 Ford Fairlane last year, and it seemed like a natural choice to turn into even more of a show car. This one doesn't really have any special or unique references. I used the Smooth Oil brand again, and I added Octan Racing and "Spin Wear," another racing gear brand from the Racers Tiny Turbos theme. Finally, I wanted to do another gasser to race against that one. The problem is, I hadn't actually BUILT another gasser yet! In fact, I still haven't, but I did finish designing one, at least. Consider this, then, a MOC reveal as well: I made a 1963 Chevy Nova gasser in dark azure, then I made some graphics for it. More simple, this time - less of a show car and more of a serious drag racing machine. Like the Hoonicorn, I filled this one with LEGO references, too. The car's number, 541, is a reference to 5541: Blue Fury. The name "Well Played" is a reference to the origin of the name LEGO, "Leg Godt" = "Play Well." Brick Street Custom is a speed shop from the Tiny Turbos line - 8154: Brick Street Customs The axle company, Cross, is advertised on the legs of 71021-13: Race Car Guy, which itself is a reference: "Cross axle" is the shape of a Technic axle. The other two part companies, "Cams - Red Bird" and "Pistons - Rally," are brands that I made up in reference to the first sets that the cam and piston pieces appeared in: 5591: Mach II Red Bird Rig and 8850: Rally Support Truck, respectively.
  3. Travel back 90 years in the past and rebuild your LEGO Technic 42125 Ferrari 488 GTE into this replica of 1931 Hot Rod FORD Model A. All required parts comes in the set 42125 and no additional or spare sparts are needed. If you own the Ferrari 488 GTE, you can completely build this alternate Hot Rod with no restriction. This model uses 1329 parts of the set, which are 79.3% of the parts of the Ferrari 488 GTE. Features & Functions independent suspension in front and back steering with knob (in the back) engine with 8 cylinders, driven through diff by the real axle openable doors openable tailgate with lock to locate the trunk box to transport usefull things that fits inside the trunk overnight bag that fits inside the trunk lifting jack to lift up the car 41cm x 23cm x 15cm (with closed doors) Here are some impressions of the model: Box and overnight bag The model comes with a transporting box and an overnight bag. Both fits inside the trunk very vell. Lifting jack Luckily there are enough parts left over to build a cool lifting jack with locking function. You can lift up the entire car and it stays in position. Version Cabriolet The model and building instructions are designed to make a Cabrio as well. Therefore, the roof is detachable easily for a quick summer drive. Scale, Sticker & Stability The Hot Rod fits in scale, vintage style and playability with my Vintage Custom Pickup - alternate build of 42111. I have never tried this model with stickers, but of course it is buildable and could look more "racing-ish". I am excited to see the first user photo of this model with stickers applied. Some people report about problems with the stability of the Ferrari 488 GTE - be sure, this Hot Rod is designed to be solid as a rock. What makes this model special The wheels are mounted in opposite direction, which is not really common, but looks way better on this model. Unfortunately this way the rims does not fit the wheel hubs. As a reason, this model can not use the wheel hubs for mounting the wheels, but uses two of the rear hubs as the headlights. If you have already connected the two parts of the wheel hubs (the light bluish with the dark bluish one), be careful separating them. Because the model can not use the front wheel hubs, these hubs are custom brick built in a clever way and works perfect. The real car Of course this Hot Rod FORD Model A is based on the real car.   4. Designed model is based on my previous model Ford Bronco, but created in pickup version with fully reworked rear suspension and body (look and feel I kept as it was in previous Bronco version). After my 2 pick-up alternates, I returned to set 10265 twice more but this time to create 2 vehicles heavily inspired by iconic and classic sportscars from the 1960's in which Ford also played a key role, the GT40 and the Shelby Cobra which both fit perfectly with the 1967 Mustang. First the GT40 famous for winning Lemans. The GT40 was first built in England, but the later version in the US. There it was equipped with a much larger engine that also required other changes to the chassis and suspension.   7. I built 2 pickup alternates from Creator Expert sets. The first one is from the 10265 Mustang set, and to keep within the theme and time period I decided to go for a Ford F100 from 1970. The model includes steering by HoG, opening bonnet, doors and tailgate, a detailed interior and engine. Once done I thought why not try to build a pickup model from the 10252 Volkswagen Beetle too? So that's just what I did with this vintage American pickup truck somewhere from the 1930's. It has similar features as the 10265 alternate except for the steering function, which was not possible.     [MOC] 5th Generation Ford Mustang GT

    This is my first MOC in about 5 years. It's a 5th generation Ford Mustang GT - I specifically modeled it after a 2008. It uses a lot of Speed Champions elements and shares some design traits with that series as well, such as the SNOT side panel and bumper body work. It was designed in Mecabricks and ordered via Bricklink - the orange 1 x 1 corner panels were the most difficult part to track down, since they only appeared in 2 fairly unpopular sets in 2004.
  9. Here is my heavy MOD of 2020 set 75968, 4 Privet Drive. The car is a dark blue version of the Anglia in 2018's Hogwarts Whomping Willow set (75953), and fits inside the added garage. Here is the front of the house. I added a visible chimney flue, as I didn't like how the set kept the one hidden inside the wall. The rear of the building features a greenhouse and back door to both the house and garage. The greenhouse folds up and open to get at the inside of it, which at this point holds only a telephone. On the lower floor of the inside is the living room (with record player, couch, and fireplace), kitchen and dining area (stove, sink, table and two chairs). The upper floor features a lamp on a table and a bed. This 1962 Ford Anglia 105E is based off set 75953 (Hogwarts Whomping Willow), but in dark blue. (and no, it does not fly!) The rear trunk opens slightly. Two of this part are missing in dark bluish gray, and four of this part are missing in dark blue to finish the car. The LDD file is available at Bricksafe here.   10. I'd like to share my most recent model - 1:10.5 replica of 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429. Boss 429 was the high performance variant of first generation Mustang, equipped with a powerful 7.0 V8 engine. Only 1359 were made, and now there is one more :D Watch it in all its glory: Functions: RC drive - RWD with differential, 2x L motors RC transmission - 4 speeds, sequential, M motor Detailed V8 engine replica with fan connected directly to propulsion motors RC steering - with moving steering wheel, M motor Front suspension - double wishbone Rear suspension - floating axle Openable hood with lock controlled from the cabin Openable doors with locks Openable trunk Adjustable seats (sliding forward - backward and seatback angle adjustment) RC front lights Please watch the video to see this machine in action and for more details. I am quite happy with how I managed to include all the functions without compromising on proportions and interior in a relatively small model (46cm long). The biggest challenges were to fit piston engine over the suspension with the blue air intake under the hood without lifting it (as the result I had to make the hood hollow below the external air intake but still it was tight) and to fit interior over the gearbox. For that purpose I made the transmission very flat with gear shifting shaft actually crossing the drive shaft... (can be seen in action in the video - 2:30) I hope you liked this model.

    [MOC] Ford F-150

    Hello everybody, my latest iteration is the pick up truck. The ford F-150. I am questioning a bit if its Creator or Technic, but chassis and power train is technic aspect and body is made of system bricks to deliver that specific look. It has 2 RC functions, drive and steering, steering is possible by virtual pivot point for narrow fenders look of system bricks, and only few manual options, as openable doors and rear cargo door.   13. Here's a MOC on which I'm working since the end of the previous summer! After I have done the video of my DS3, I had the idea to do a new chassis with 4 wheel drive. I thought it would not be possible, but the first prototype was better than my DS3! Actually the MOC is not finished. The stickers are missing, and I'm continuing to develop the chassis (I'm adding a 4th L motor) Actually there are 1 L for the front, and 2 L for the rear. The great advantage of the 4WD is that it can take a great angle while turning, but it's always controllable. But, that can have an inconvenient: the understeering. For that, I did the same thing on the real RC drift cars: I added a free wheel. So when I do not accelerate, the front wheels are not braked and the car does not understeer. You can see this video on this video, done for BuWizz with Charbel. But this is one. It's the same thing, but there is only my car. The final gymkhana will be for the next summer, because that requires a lot of time, and with the school, I have not enough time at another moment of the year.

  15. MOC #64 Ford Mustang GT500CR Classic video is published now. I designed this Mustang when #10265 coming out, but I didn't satisfy some detail of it. So I put it aside and work on other projects instead. Finally, I picked it up again to complete it. I also expanded my virtual Lego city. You can see what I added in the video :D
  16. Inspired by the Speed Champions cars. Last year I built a car showroom to show them off. Al's Autos is built on 3 large baseplates. On the left baseplate the blue and white sign has doubled sided brick plate writing and rotates on a Technic turntable. The showroom has a roller door entry behind the office on the left. It is fully tiled inside and lit with PF LEDs. On the right baseplate the brown turntable also rotates on a Technic turntable. The footpath is designed to match up to the Modular footpaths. My own creation cars are a Pick Up truck with removable Camper. A Ford GT40 reverse engineered from a LEGO YouTube movie. The black Pontiac is a KITT replica and has a working red LED scanner in the front. Next was a service centre / workshop for the showroom.The back section is a parts department. On the right are two service bays. The front one has a working Technic pneumatic hoist. Also PF LED lighting. The shipping containers can fit a Speed Champions car or spare parts. To keep the cars clean I next built a car wash. This has a working Technic based linear actuator to move the brushes back and forward over the car. So after a long day. It's off to the Drive In movies. The diner has a projection room, kitchen, counter, seating and toilet. My own creation cars are two NYPD police cars with working light bars. A yellow NY taxi. The two Porsche 911's are modified with brick headlights and door handles. The ambulance has working LED light bars, headlights and taillights One day I will get around to doing close up and interior photos.

It was revolutionary because of its availability, making the concept of automobile the one we know today - a vehicle, more or less affordable for highest amount of people possible, not a luxury for the chosen ones. That is why I have chosen Tin Lizzie - it's simply iconic. Since there is a plenty of variations of Model T, I ended up making the collective image of it without sticking to any exact modificaton, but trying to follow the last, 1927 version of it - wheels' choice was probably the hardest part because of the original, since there aren't any tires that narrow. However, the overall look of Lizzie is still recognizable. Being a huge fan of vehicles myself, I grab every new set of Creator Expert car as soon as it's possible - but one day I just decided to try my skills in making my own model, that's how this project has been born. Adjusted to scale of already existing vehicles, this set could be a nice addition to the collection and a good gift for other many cars' enthusiasts.     Tyrrell P34 1:5

    The six wheeled Tyrrell P34 was the first F1 model I built back in 2006, using a mix of Technic and System LEGO parts. Since then, I have made several F1 cars covering about three decades, from late 60s to early 90s, all in 1:8 scale. Due to the small front wheels of the P34, the compact front suspension of the first model was working, but was not as accurate as I would have liked. That’s why last year I decided to evaluate the possibility of building a detailed and fully working front suspension for this iconic car, taking advantage of all newest parts introduced by LEGO, as well as old and discontinued ones to reproduce this state of the art model in a bigger scale. In fact, the 22969 rims and 32296 big tires that I’ve always used as rear wheels in all previous models, in this case are acting as the “small” front wheels, in a fully independent double front suspension. There is a single central anti-roll bar that reacts to the displacement of the two front axles. At the same time, the steering rack is directly acting on the front axis, while the movement is then transferred to the second axis through a pivot and levers. As a result, the overall model scale went up to 1:5, and this lead to a completely brick built rear wheel concept, with an internal rigid frame to keep the cylindrical shape and support the model weight without distortion, and an outer layer of rubber elements. In such a large model, I decided to also include some RC features: XL-motor for driving, servo-motor for shifting, M-motor for steering. All of them are controlled with a powerful BuWizz unit. The compact 4 speed gearbox is a reinforced mod of Paul J Boratko III’s solution with the new rotary selector, while the shift drum is based on the concept MK II of P-LEGO, adapted to stay within the side prismatic fuel reservoir. Obviously, inside the cockpit, the steering wheel rotates while steering, and the shift lever moves as well while shifting. Other features are the various brake cooling systems (through NACA intakes and hoses for the front axis, and dedicated ducts for intermediate and rear wheels), a 90 degree V8 fake engine with 0.5 stud pitch between banks, air intake cones, two side water cooling radiators, three oil cooling radiators (two paired with water ones, one on the rear wing support), rear suspension with big 11.5L shock absorbers and stabilizing bar, side windows in the cockpit, and more.   24. The Focus RS500 was launched in April 2010. A limited production run of 500 units (101 of them for Britain) were produced. It has a turbocharged 2.5 L5 petrol engine which produces 345 bhp and can do 0-62 mph in 5.4 seconds, with a top speed of 165 mph (266 km/h) making it the fastest Focus yet. Ford GT - From drawing board to reality ? by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Nothing about this build was easy. This car had so many new things that I've have never accomplished before. To start was the framework. I was worried this build would be too heavy for the pushrod suspension. Each wheel has 2 inboard shocks that are positioned in the same fashion as the real Ford GT. Opening those huge, heavy doors was a small feat in itself. The pressure required to pop the door to the final position upwards is immense, so I has to seriously gear down the axle. Ford GT - doors by lachlan cameron, on Flickr The next challenge was the motor placement. Man was it ever hard to fit everything inside a tear drop bodywork! I had to use the middle of the seats for the Sbrick, which may not look too cosmetically appealing, but I can assure you it did completely strengthen the framework immensely.
