Now a Lego Cuusoo Project! Please Support by voting at: Tumbler & Bat Pod LEGO Ideas Page The Bat LEGO Ideas Page Updated the Cover image for my Cuusoo Page to include the Minifigs Added the Minifigures that can be included with the set, designed to be movie accurate of course.From Left to Right: Lt. James Gordon, Henri Ducard, Batman Begins Suit, Ra's al Ghul, Joker, Scarecrow & Two Face From Left to Right: Selina Kyle, Dark Knight Suit, Lucius Fox, Merinda Tate & John Blake These are my renditions of the Tumbler, Bat Pod & The Bat reproduce with lego bricks in 2 seaters minifig scale and staying as close to the original movie design as best I can.It was great challenge building a movie accurate Tumbler as many of the surfaces are angled, not particularly easy with lego bricks that generally connects at right angle. It was even more challenging to build a movie accurate Bat Pod in minifig scale, as the original vehicle was designed to fit a normal human proportion!Tumbler measures at 19cm(L) x 12cm(W)Bat Pod measures at 16cm(L) x 4cm(W)The Bat measures about 31cm(L)x20cm(W)x13cm(H) This is by far the hardest to build among all 3 Dark Knight vehicles due to its front heavy structure and angular design, not to mention overly complicated flaps and rudders system. The interior of Tumbler & The Bat fits 2 minifigs sitting upright. Original vehicles designs and proportions recreated in minifig scale. Every vehicles details faithfully replicated and all flaps movable. Bat Pod comes with an EMP Gun holder and the wheels rotates. [pid][/pid] Hello! Today I bring you my review of the Lego Movie set; Metalbeard's Sea Cow! Theme: The Lego Movie Set Name: Metalbeard's Sea Cow Set Number: 70810 Pieces: 2741 Year: 2014 Minifigures: 4 Minifigures + Mini Metalbeard and Queasy Kitty (Emmet, Wildstyle, Benny and Vitruvius) Ages: 14+ Price: Expensive ($299 Here in Canada, plus tax) About $250 USD I know this set has had a lot of negative criticism, especially from the true pirates fans, but keep in mind that it is not a pirates theme set, and therefore is not as realistic as one would probably like, but it is, after all, supposed to look unrealistic to give it that Lego Movie look. (The movie has many unrealistic builds but fun none the less!) One point I would like everyone to know, because I find it very cool, is that this is the most heavily armed boat…errrr I mean ship in Lego's History! She has 6 Firing Cannons, plus more than 14 other cannons that do not fire (Made to look like cannons) First we will start with the box, and it is huge! The box is also very heavy, but made of the usual material, so I have already seen some boxes with the seals being broken because of the weight of the ship! The side of the box also features all the mini figures included with their names. The Inner bags are many in number, you get a total of 17 normal bags. You get one #1 bag, two #2 bags, two #3 bags, one #4 bag, two #5 bags, three #6 bags, three #7 bags, two #8 bags, and one #9 bag. Additionally you get a bag with other parts for the ship including the massive fans. You also get the hull pieces, but the ship seems like it would be rather stubby, with only one bottom hull piece. Then you also get a bag with the instruction book (It really is the size of a book!) and the sticker sheet. The instruction book is very heavy, and there is only one! You would expect at least three for a set this size, but Its actually really cool! The only downside is that you cannot team up with a friend and each build from a separate instruction manual…..or novel in this case The sticker sheet has a few cool stickers, and one really cool pirate with a parrot picture! I would love to have more than one of this sticker for some custom building projects! The instructions have a page and a half showing what each bag builds. The instructions have a very eye friendly feel to them, the only problem I have encountered so far is that the Lego Bricks shown are a different shade of colour in the manual than the real ones. It is a little annoying at first, but you get used to it. The first bag contains some mini figures, including Emmet, Wild-style, Kitty and Mini Metalbeard. (I say mini because it is a much smaller version of the one in the movie and the other set that he is included in.) Bag one is my favourite bag so far! The mini Metal-beard is actually very cool. It uses the Legends of Chima ball joints in a very cool way! The emmet minifig is cool, but nothing too special (Movie reference ) Wild-style has a cool rubber hood piece and Kitty looks… not so good. I wish they had included a happy side for her face, but they want you to get every set to collect them all. You also get a sizeable amount of extra pieces just in the first bag! A total of 17! I can't imagine how many will be left after the final build! Now we shall move on the bag number two! The instructions outline the contents of the second bag, and we get the Double Decker Couch! As well as Vitruvius and Benny! We get the entire sets mini figures/Characters in the first two bags. I am surprised lego did not split them up. In this bag we also get two different villain bots (Micro Managers) from The Lego Movie. If you notice, they bear a strange resemblance to the ones in the Matrix Movie! Bag 2 is a bag number that has two bags. The first one large, the second one smaller, each with two mini bags inside. The contents of bag(s) two are awesome! And for those of you wondering if Benny's Helmet is actually broken… Its not. It is a special mold for Benny! Did you really think TLG would go around snapping space helmets!? The Second Bag comes with the Micro Managers and the Double Decker Couch! You also get Benny (Classic 1980's Spaceman!) and Vitruvius. This set comes with a very good mix of mini figures, and you get the very cool Mini Metalbeard! The Double Decker couch is also very cool, but unfortunately you cannot get any figs included in this set to sit properly on the couch. This is because they all have some sort of back accessory. You also get the two micro managers, one mini that shoots a net, and a larger one with flick fire missiles! The net can be shot by stuffing it into the "mouth" of the Micro Manager and pushing the fire flicker on the back. The larger Manager has a unfold-able radar scanner dish, used to detect master builders! It also has some cool flick fire missiles. Another cool feature is that the sides open to reveal some extra flick fire missiles! Lastly for this bag, you also get a good amount of extra pieces! Now we will move on to the ship! The ship build starts with the #3 bags, the hull pieces and the extra bag of ship parts. The bags from #3 are packed with goodies, and the Cannons! You get a total of 6 shooting cannons!!! As I mentioned before, this is the most heavily armed ship in Lego history! As you can see its a very exciting bag! It contains the ships main armament and the foundation for everything above! The bags are getting more and more focused on one particular item, now that the figs and accessories are out of the way. The next few bags contain different parts of the ships that attach to form the final product. I really like the way that everything comes together. Lets get on to bag #4! There is only one bag with the number four title, but it is packed with all you need to start building the walls of the ship and starting the long path to the sky! As you can see, the ship is looking good so far, the sides look very nice, and have more than enough armament to take on those Micro Managers! Next we will get to bag #5! Bag number five refines the current look of the ship by adding to the front and rear, and patching up any holes in the ship. As you can see, the ship is starting to look like a real ship! The sides are now very sturdy and have been completely locked up. Now it is time for bag number 6. You will notice that the number 6 bags really start to add to the fun by containing the store room and boiler controls! In these bags you get some very fun and cool looking water faucets that add to the rustic boiler look! The interior of the Boiler/Storage room contain some muskets, swords and some flintlock pistols. It also features the controls for the boiler. The sides also open up for a look inside, and also for limited playability. You also get a nice tiny chandelier than swings with the ships movements. It can be seen through the entrance to the room. The set also makes use of a few bizarre pieces such as the Indiana Jones whips, some Legends of Chima pieces and some Lego Friends pieces such as the golden faucets. So far we have gotten a lot of cool stuff, but we still have many more bags to go! This is everything so far… Ok, lets get onto the other bags! We are now on Bag number 7! Well…. three bags actually! You get some very unique parts, some technic sails and a good old fashioned door! You also get a Pirates of the Caribbean globe piece, also used as Sandy's Helmet in Spongebob Lego sets. (Clear Version) Some other cool accessories include a Golden Mini-figure Head, and some keys. How long has it been since you opened a set with some Flintlock Pistols! I really like the building techniques that have been used so far. I love the way the ships siding is placed on. Every sideboard is unique, and has a different Pirate feel to it! One of the coolest building sidings I have seen so far is found in Bag(s) number seven! This siding is a prime example! As you can see, the side board is missing, once it is built, it is nicely placed into it to fit very snug. Now both combined give a good look to the ships siding! The Final Bag 7 Build makes the ship look nearly complete. It gives the ship the appropriate height, and refines the rear of the ship. This bag also has some very interesting pieces for those of you you considering this as a parts pack. The Rear of the ship after bag number 7! It is very tall! Metal Beards Throne is large enough to fit him nicely standing or sitting. However, any other mini figure in the set looks ridiculous. Now onto Bag 8! Bag 8 builds the front of the ship, the foreword mast with the figurehead. While building, I could not resist laughing when I got to this build I don't know how you can't laugh at it! What was TLG thinking?! We are now on the last bag! Bag number 9! Bag number 8 was funny and contained a lot of useful pieces, such as the cow… and the "boiler" (More like… ) This bag builds the final middle top section for the ship. But I just noticed now that it also looks just as questionable as the "boiler"... I was surprised at the amount of detail included under the top middle section. The floor boards are filled with coins, treasure, a scull and even a rat! We are now done! The ship is done! It is funny build! Here are all the extra pieces included in the set! Here she is; METAL-BEARD'S SEA COW! Here is the Sea Cow beside two smaller Lego Ships! And as requested, here is the Sea Cow beside the Black Seas Barracuda! As you can see, the Sea Cow holds up, even surpasses some of the biggest pirate ships! Overall I give this set a great Rating! I love the details included through the set, and how they managed to do a great job using technic sails! The only downside is that the playability factor aboard the ship is lower because of the lack of space on the deck. But if you can't have fun with this set in hand, I don't believe you. It is a very cool set that I think compliments the Pirates theme! I would defiantly recommend it and I hope my review has brought some light onto this set, and all her might! DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK FOR MORE PHOTOS OR QUESTIONS ;)

So apparently there is a live-action movie based on Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers in the works: http://www.hollywood...p-n-dale-676161 For me, this is unsettling news. All live-action adaptions of any kids shows that were popular in the 80's and 90's have been varying degrees of terrible as of late, no matter how much money they made. I didn't care much for franchises like Transformers, Smurfs, or Scooby Doo when I was a kid, so it was easy for me to dismiss those awful movies. However, the Disney Afternoon is something that is very dear to my heart and I would hate for them to ruin one of my favorite childhood TV shows. Of course there is a lot of potential for a good movie here, but while Walt Disney Animation Studios has been making a return to producing good films, Disney's latest live-action adaptions have unfortunately been passable at best and with Hollywood "raping everyone's childhood" the way I see this movie turning out is as a Alvin and the Chipmunks clone with the usual moronic humor, bad CGI, and pointless celebrity voices. I really, really, really hope I'm wrong and I will try to stay optimistic until I actually see a trailer, but it seems like the most likely outcome. On the other hand, if this means that I will finally get those Rescue Rangers Lego sets I've been wanting since I was a kid, bring it on! If you ask me, Gummy Bears or Gargoyles would have been much better choices for a live-action adaption, especially the latter, but I digress. What are your thoughts on this?

Hello all, I present to you my newest creation : Uni-kitty's Enchanted Castle. Featuring an excellent fruit juice and salad/sandwich bar on the ground floor, with penguin slide and waterfall, pineapples and general craziness. The castle was designed by Uni-kitty one day when he smoked too much of a special plant. He's growing this plan on top of one of his castle turrets. To be a bit more serious, I've combined two of Cloud cuckoos palace, together with the Friends fruit juice bar and also several friends animal packs. What do you think? PS - "too many colours' nu uh it's meant to be crazy :)

Many people looked forward to the new Superman movie <Man of Steel>, but were much disappointed when the movie was not something that they expected. However, I think the first part of the movie about Krypton, the home world of Superman, is quite awesome. The organic high-tech kind of design looks very interesting without being too overwhelming or too different from human's world. Too bad that Lego's Man of Steel series only have the dropship and escape pod, and I think the awesome attack ship by General Zod should also be included. This time, like I did The Bat last time, I bought the movie book to study what this plane really is before starting the brick building. I couldn't believe that it only had one page about this ship, with only this blurry image: This type of ship only appears once in the movie, in which General Zod came to Jor-el's place to stop him from sending Superman to Earth. I have trimmed that little bit of the movie, and see if it helps you recall what I am going to show you. After nearly 2 months I finally completed the model, and it was featured too in the recent Hong Kong Lego exhibition "Bricks Adventure 2013". Now, here is the overall view of what the Man of Steel series should be! Close-up of the cockpit. There is no glass, and with the Krypton technology, why do you need to see the outside? Haha! Also, check the guns at the front, which can be adjusted for different angles. They are the weapons blowing off Jor-el's place... Inside the cockpit, one Kryptonian can be fitted in. The attack ship is basically a bigger dropship, transferring warriors to the battlefield. The center part is empty, and you can fit around 8 soldiers here... The most complicated and difficult part is the wings, which is also the prominent feature of this ship. I guess they take the idea from insects. Each side of the wings have 3 members, each can then be rotated to adjust flight position. I fixed the innermost two parts, leaving only 4 of them being adjustable. Also, the 3 members can be opened outwards or packed together. The concept for all these rotated blades of engines is for the control of flight direction. If the plane is moving forward, the engines along the blades (green parts) will face backwards. If it needs to slow down, the wings will flip to the front, like this: (you can see that in the clip above too) If it needs to stay in the air, the engines (green parts) will face downwards. This is a shot of the back, which features a pair of engine too. Different rows of engines will be turned on depending on the moving direction of the plane (as you can see in the clip) Okay now you know how the wings work. Time to land and find Superman! There are quite some design considerations during the development. I decided to keep the same kind of color and form that the original Lego series had set up, but at the same time I had to follow what the movie had designed (the dropship was not completely like the original!). It is quite a struggle. In the movie, there is no green color, but I prefer what Lego did with the green color, since it is what Kryptonite is like in the comics. Also, I keep the details from the dropship: tan base plates, shooting missiles...etc. The hardest part is the pair of wings. I have redesigned it four times, trying to keep the same design and form but making it lighter so that the hinges can withstand the long blades. Now it is slightly supported too by the top part of the plane, which is okay for now. I may improve it by using some Technic pieces later. Now everything is set, the Kryptonian war begins!

Hey all, Well, after almost 6 months of work, here it is. Erebor, I am proud to say, is the largest creation I have had the pleasure of working on and completing. I love the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings (from which Erebor is taken) so I really enjoy working on LEGO projects that pertain to that area. I had a blast working on this project. There is something so inherently satisfying about seeing a project like this come to a close and enjoying the attention it receives that really makes all the hard work worth it. Hey! Do you have a favorite TV show, series and/or documentary program about trains? I've started to get interested in trains again after a long hiatus and am not so familiar with what's been put out recently. Personally, I've always enjoyed Michael Palin's travel documentaries such as; 'Around the World in Eighty Days' and 'Pole to Pole', although they're not strictly about trains. He's also done a show in the 'Great Railway Journeys' series from the BBC, hasn't he? There are a couple of railway-related series that I have been watching lately: > 'Rail Away' - the English version is a documentary series of twenty-five programs in which they go to a different European country each show. > 'Extreme Trains' - an American show of eight episodes with a different focus each time, i.e.; freight train, steam train, etc. Kid-related shows are, of course, Thomas and the 'Choo Choo Bob Show'. There's also a show called 'Chuffington' or something like that, isn't there? What have I missed? Thanks, Joe

Hi everyone, I am starting this new topic to share with you a little story and a project. I am a photography enthusiast and I have been for nearly 10 years now. I recently came back from my dark times and I am currently starting my collection of Lego Technics and Star Wars sets. This is the story of how I came back to the Lego world. I am currently finishing my studies in Shanghai and a few months ago, I decided it would be cool to shoot a mini-movie of a car model in the streets of the city to share with my family and friends back in Europe. Looking at all the options that I had (in terms of small car models) I came across the Lego Technic 8081 (that you see in the video below). After a few days, that was it, I WAS BACK, I could not resist. And at the same time, I was discovering the possibilities offered by my new camera (Nikon V1) in terms of movie shooting and image quality. If you are interested in more on this subject, just ask but for now let's just say that it offers me the ability to take cinema quality shots but for only 1-second-shots at a time. So this topic is the place for me to share with you this adventure. I started to think about the project, finding a song or two, planning places to shoot etc. And of course I built the Lego 8081 ;-) The video below is a "test" shooting I did recently to check how cool (or not) it would be. I think it turned out great ! [Please, do not hesitate to load it in the highest setting : 1080p to really appreciate its image quality in fullscreen] I would love to get your feedback and to share this entire experience with who is interested :)

Thanks to prateek for some inspiration: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=81238 I tried something new with the chassis, it's just two big 1x16 technic beams, but I spaced them so there's a 5-stud wide gap between them instead of 4-wide. This helps widen the track (distance between tires on the same axle) while still keeping the body itself 8-wide. Got lazy so it isn't finished, looks good so far.
