  1. Escape: Return to Innocence and Tranquility Ink Painting is a very special form of traditional Chinese art. Usually it is in black and white only. Other colours would be a rarity. More than 95% of the bricks used in this MOC are 1x1, 1x2 trans-clear and trans-black bricks. 2. Feb 10 comes the Year of Dragon. In Chinese custom, people will visit their relatives and friends on the first few days of the Lunar New Year. They will be presented with a candy box. Picking candies from the box is believed to be a good wish of making fortune in the coming year. So, here comes my candy box for the Year of Dragon. You may find dragons playing with a golden pearl on the sides of the box. In Chinese proverb, 'two dragons playing with pearl' means great love between husband and wife. 3. I tried, but cannot find the way to do so.
  4. Frankly speaking, this is a quick build. I have a strange idea of building a Christmas tree out of trees. I need to finish it quickly because such an idea came only in the afternoon of Christmas day. Christmas tree by SK MOC, 於 Flickr
  5. Up... When Carl and Ellie first met. This is the same house in the movie. They renovated it after they married. In the movie, Carl wandered in front of the house and was attracted by noises created by Ellie. Out of curiosity, he stepped into the house and found that Ellie was playing the game of imitating her most admired hero aviator, Charles Muntz, who later appeared to be the villain of the movie. What a good start of love. Up (movie)

It all starts from my displeasure with the little balloon of 43217. Three months to finish. I first start to enlarge the balloon to the size that the house below cannot give support to its weight. So, I shrink its size. Later on, I think that to build a complete house with interior decoration would be a better idea. Then, I think of the deceased wife of Carl (Ellie). I decide not to let him be alone. So, he is now blessed by Ellie. Lastly, I decide to build the early scene of the movie -- Carl annoyed about the presence of construction workers. The Screaming

The well-known drawing of Edvard Munch in 1893. I don't know there are 4 versions of this drawing until I start to build it. Obviously I make reference to the most popular version. IMG_8125 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr IMG_8128 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr

I didn't realize it was going to be like him honestly speaking. I won't erect a statue for a warmonger. No way.

    Wanderer

a replica of a bronze statue I saw on internet. I desire to make it look like stone which is a lot easier than to make it look like bronze. A challenging build, definitely. So challenging that I endeavour to spend however long the time to build it. The process of planning to the actual building takes about 3 weeks. As usual, the longest stage is the planning, wherein I have to do some practical tests to see how TECHNIC parts to be applied so as to keep the whole body upright and balanced. I am not good in Physics while I am a student. But, you know, knowledge is gained usually not in school but in practices. Luckily, this creation is sturdy and without doubt it can be carried to different brick shows. Assuredly this creation is my most-favoured one. Of course I would like to have it replaced by another MOC which I like more. I don’t know. Scale Model - Neuschwanstein Castle

Very impressive, the precision of the architecture thing in particular
  11. The year of bunny is almost to come. In Chinese tradition, every family will prepare a candy box which will soon become the gravity of candy-hunting children. Every year I build a new candy box. I think that is way better than to buy the standard boring box available elsewhere. For the cover design, I am inspired by traditional Chinese paper-cut art. 12. Founded in 1912, St. John's College is the oldest residential hall in the University of Hong Kong. I lived there in the early 1990s and by that time the third wing did not exist. Thus it did not appear in this build. 13. I can't wait TLG to create the BrickheadZ of the supporting characters of Toy Story. If you don't know who they are, please watch the movie to refresh your memory. p.s. Woody and Buzz Lightyear are official products. They are not my MOCs. IMG_6062 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr I wonder why Po Beep can be a product, but not Sid. So, I build my own. To me, Sid is no less an important character in the Toy Story sequel. While I am building Sid, I think of Scud (his dog). Sid, without accompanied with his dog, will be very lonely. IMG_6089 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr IMG_6135 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr Sid's sticker is taken from 75549 (Minions) IMG_6138 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr I think many people would agree that Babyface was a more impressive character than Sid... but not many people can name him/her. This is an issue LOL. IMG_6130 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr IMG_6129 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr IMG_6132 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr I have to say the remaining mutant toys are small potatoes in the movie and perhaps they hardly leave you any memory. Not all of them are suitable to be built as BrickheadZ. I try my best to build three characters.
