Finally built my steamboat willie and here is my review: THE GOOD: Interesting build and nice looking steamboat. Great metallic print on the minifigures. Nice novelty to have a mickey logo stand. THE NOT SO GOOD: My mickey mouse has a slight mis-print on the nose =( Totally recommend this to everyone even you are not a Mickey Mouse fans. I know there are feedback that you going to get similar minifigures in Disney Series 2 but this version has far superior print. Also the build experience for the steam boat is actually pretty cool. Love it!

Hi everyone. I'm pretty excited about this. I just got all the parts in for my barn owl that I designed late last year for a contest. After I built Pirate Ship Ride last year, I've just completed my new project - Free Fall Tower! I always want to construct a minifigure scale thrill ride and make it fully automated model without any manual control or mindstome programming. Spec of the Free Fall Tower: Maximum capcity: 12 minifigures Length: 32 x 32 Studs (not include motor and gear box) Structural Height : 65 cm Drop Height: 54 cm How it works Gear Box serves 3 main functions: 1) Generating pull power It will pull rope which connected passenger car so the car can be lifted up. 2) Looping 2 gear modes First "pull mode" & Second "neutral mode". gear box will keep looping between two modes in a fixed time period. Pull mode will lift up the car and neutral mode will stop giving pull power so the car will drop. 3) Reducing drop speed The main axle connects to a high scale gear. When the car drop, the main axle will make the high scale gear spin really fast and it will generate a reverse force to the main axle for reducing the main axle spin speed. As a result, the drop will slow down. Celebrate the historic neoclassic home of one of America’s most famous Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson! Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello home began construction in 1768, when he was only 26 years old. America’s third president was never fully satisfied with his design, and the house was continually redesigned throughout his lifetime - not so unlike Lego fanatics constantly reworking their own builds. This microscale Monticello has been meticulously and faithfully rendered to capture the unmistakable appearance of the iconic building, known to all Americans as “that building on the back of the nickel coin.” The 930-piece set would appeal to lovers of Lego’s Architecture series, and would also contain highly sought after dark red pieces that have never before been produced. The design could also be scaled down to remove the some of the landscaping (the house by itself contains under 650 pieces). [MOC]: Lego Insects: A Ladybug, Butterfly, and a Dragonfly

Hello, I have been working for awhile on my latest MOC, it's different from my usual MOCs and I am happy to present it to everyone here. [MOC] Lego Insects: A Ladybug, Butterfly, & Dragonfly by Rail Co, on Flickr The Butterfly: The butterfly was one of the most challenging but interesting builds to design. The key factors that make this model special is the ability to move and alter the wings however one pleases. The wings are built using mainly standard bricks and plates, bringing back a simple and nostalgic building experience from the childhood of many. However, there are a few SNOT building techniques. The bottom of the wings use the "headlight" bricks to invert the orientation of the studs allowing me to add the ability to have the bottom curve of the butterfly's wings. There are also studs on the side construction to achieve the curved sides of the wings as well. [MOC] Lego Insects: A Ladybug, Butterfly, & Dragonfly by Rail Co, on Flickr The Ladybug: The Ladybug is what inspired this whole project. The ladybug is small but has a lot of interesting and fun building techniques to get the shape of the ladybug just perfect. Using studs on the side construction as well as the "bracket" pieces make the ladybug slightly more round giving it a more realistic design than other techniques that were tried. The bottom is smoothed out using a mix of headlight bricks, plates, and even 1x1 round plates with a hole in the center! These actually connect to the center tube of the 1x2 brick giving another connection point to make the model more sturdy and makes building the model more engaging, as well as giving others building ideas for their own models. [MOC] Lego Insects: A Ladybug, Butterfly, & Dragonfly by Rail Co, on Flickr The Dragonfly: The dragonfly is the most simple model of the three, however, it still has some tricks up its sleeve. Dragonflies are a very thin and light. The model accurately represents a Dragonfly. The main interesting aspects of the model is the simpleness. After building the first 2 complex insects with small pieces and quirky techniques. This model gives the builder some room to breathe and is composed of simple construction. The most interesting part of the dragonfly for me personally is how I was able to us black minifigure hair to be the eyes of dragonfly. I tried many pieces but nothing ever looked right until I stumbled upon the minifigure hair. This is what makes the dragonfly stand out and still engages the builder with every building step. 8 Billboards so far... by Humble Bricksmith, on Flickr Over the past year, I've been working on making city billboards, depicting classic LEGO themes. Billboards are a great way to add unique flair and character to any LEGO city or diorama. Without using any printed bricks, it becomes very difficult to create small details without scaling up your creation. I figured that billboards are a good compromise between detail and scale. [Ideas contest] Volvo Hare 20XX FR

As my entry for Lego Ideas contest is approved, so I can now post something also here. Description Volvo Hare 20XX FR - is bulldozer. 20XX stands for production year, FR - fusion reactor. Fusion reactor is most promising energy producing technology. This maachine has compact version. Main operation is autonomous (programmed for particular construction area). I still think, that in some situations direct guidence still will is needed, so there is openable cabin for those cases. Model is really playable: it "rolls" when pushed, it has tilting (adjustable angle) showel (lower knob at the back), it has risable showel (upper knob at the back), tracks are tensioned using small shock absorbers, openable cabin (by hand), to see inside, only two pins 32045 should be pulled out, and then it is possible to open body. All the functions are done by small actuators, which represents electrical actuators on real machine. Normal (automated) operation Manual operation (cabin open) Some internals And, of course -

I started a projct on Lego Ideas and i thought i could need some more supporters. Thats why I want to present my project to you. I build with LDD a geographical World Map with different coulors for mountains, snow etc. and I added some animals, because than its more interesting and not so boring. [MOC] The (in)famous Kowloon Walled City as a modular building

Hi everyone, I recently built my first modular MOC and I'd like to present it here as well... With as many as 50000 residents on a footprint of just 126 x 213 meters, Hong Kong's Kowloon Walled City once was the most densely populated settlement in the world. While this model depicts only four of its levels, the actual building complex reached a height of up to 14 stories as new structures were frequently built on top of older ones. Streets were overbuilt, turning into corridors full of water pipes and exposed electrical wiring. The city housed numerous low-cost production facilities such as small workshops and food factories. Living space was scarce inside the labyrinth-like city, but residents could enjoy fresh air and sunlight on the rooftops. The complex of intertwined buildings was finally demolished in the early nineties, but its unique construction style and dense urban aesthetic have served as an inspiration for a number of fictional settings, possibly even for Lego's Ninjago City set with its stacked architecture. The model features advertising signs as well as a grocery store at the outer face of the city, a noodle factory, a metal workshop, one of the dark alleyways at ground level, a fish gutter's shop, a stairwell, two very cramped apartments, caged balconies, a weaving and sewing shop, a dentist's office, a light well obstructed by lattices and clothes, a cookshop, a dough sheet bakery, and rooftops packed with TV antennas. Details include a carrying pole, neon tubes, a noodle machine, a fan, food items, beds, a hearth, clothes lines, a loom, and a sewing machine. This has 2385 pieces, by the way. Well, I'm a big fan of the modulars Lego has released so far, but they all look colorful and clean and sort of European/American. I decided to submit this on Lego Ideas (there's also some pictures of the interior) because I'd love it if a more densely built, dark, "ugly" or even cyberpunk-y model were released for once (though of course Ninjago City already went in the right direction). What do you think? -
Hi everyone I have recently added my first project to Lego Ideas. I wondered can anyone offer me any advice on the best ways to promote my project? So far all I've done is created a topic about it on Eurobricks and shared some of the pictures in a few Flickr groups. Are there any other methods I could use to give my model some more exposure and gain more support? Are there any other Lego related sites that are good for showing MOC's or Lego Ideas projects? Also I don't use Facebook, Twitter or Instagram but do you think any of those would be worth a go? This is the first time I've used Lego Ideas so I'm learning as I go along. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone I have been working on a design recently which I want to add as my first entry as a Lego Ideas project. I am having problems setting up my account though. I logged in to Lego Ideas using my standard Lego ID which I set up years ago and doesn't have the same user name that I use on here or Flickr. I want them to match though so that people can easily find my project once I've added it to Ideas. Under account preferences on Lego Ideas there is an option to change the username but when I try to do this it just throws up an error message and wont let me do it. Has anyone else had problems with this and if so how did you solve it? I've emailed the Lego Ideas customer service but they haven't got back to me and I received an auto generated message basically saying that they are a small team and it might take them a long time to reply to emails. So I'm not holding my breath that I'll ever hear back from them.
