    MOC: Visit the Riviera

Hello fellow Eurobricks members, I've been working on my latest MOC the last few weeks - 'Visit the RIVIERA'. A MOC based around a marina with a southern European influence. There is a small wedding shop, a bell tower, and restaurant on the ground floor with tables outside around the marina where fishermen bring in their catches. A previous European styled MOC - Piazza Maria had bright colour combinations and perfect smooth rendering on the buildings so this was an excuse for me to try my hand at something that looked a little more weathered! Anyway on with the pics, 6 in total: You can also view them on flickr here: https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Any comments/feedback welcomed! Cheers!

    Arangr Castle: Summer

The second phase of my project to show Arangr Castle through all 4 seasons. See spring here. The landscape changed most, though there are some changes to be found inside the castle as well. Arangr castle is located near the Avalonian border, in Mitgardia. Summer sees the continuing growth of plant and animal life. The warmer weather dries up the spring rains and encourages outdoor activities. More pictures can be found on my website. Thanks for looking

    Fairytale MOC

This weekend we displayed a few MOCS as a family at Brickfair Alabama. We started building lego about 18 months ago and this was our third event. Primarily we have exhibited Star Wars Mocs that my young son and I worked on. As my daughter, who is now 6 has got more interested it has led me to build things that she enjoys both playing with and showing at events. So here we have our first effort at a fairytale world, I was inspired by some images that I have seen on here of a Rapunzel tower and Mermaid scene that were great. I knew I wanted a tower that looked like the images of Rapunzels tower online and I also knew that I wanted my ocean to be under the world we built. We custom painted our own Alice and Snow White and Dopey figiures and some of the dwarf's hats which was a fun experience. I hope that you enjoyed, we plan on a very large expansion on this in the months to come. Thanks for looking. 5. Snowy Castle dioramas have long been my favorite subject matter, so this was an extraordinarily fun build. This is my largest irregular base build to date, and features a full interior throughout the whole keep. The rockwork was made using my technic brick design, which you can see a tutorial on, here: Flickr It's my personal favorite of all my builds so far, so I hope you all like it The citizens of Nordheim are quite proud of their large keep, and can often be found feasting inside it's protective walls on cold wintry days. See all the details here: link
  6. Hello Everyone, My new Design is Mercury City Tower from Architecture Series. i hope you will like. Thanks.
  7. Support France and say no to terrorism. This creations is driven by the sad news of the terrorist attack in France. It turns out to be rather late for me to publish it here. I have to wait for the arrival of red fence in order to complete my creation. Hope you agree with me -- the wait is worthwhile. Fences are the best LEGO parts to be used in this creation. In my first idea, I would like to build the MOC in the iconic tre-colour of red, white and blue. However, the blue fences are too costly. ^^" After all, I want a peaceful world so that I can concentrate on my creation....

  9. An entry into the Forbidden Fortress category of the Colossal Castle Contest. A collab between John (LittleJohn) and I: John built the landscape, while I built the fortress. The build is based off of the story of Beren and Luthien from the Silmarillion. There's a full interior inside, and the drawbridge is functional. Sauron's werewolf form, and Huan were both inspired by Dunedain and Blake Baer. Luthien and Huan, the Hound of Valinar, rescue Beren from Sauron's fortress of Tol-in-Gaurhoth. Sauron takes the form of a werewolf to battle Huan. "Therefore he (Sauron) took upon himself the form of a werewolf, and made himself the mightiest that had yet walked the world; and he came forth to win the passage of the bridge... But no wizardry nor spell, neither fang nor venom, nor devil's art nor beast-strength, could overthrow Huan of Valinor; and he took his foe by the throat and pinned him down" (Tolkien 175). Gates and drawbridge closed: There's a lot to see, so check out additional pictures here: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=1687 C&C welcome
  10. Riverwatch Falls A watchtower protecting a bridge over a wild river, situated just above a small waterfall. Semaphore tower with signal engineers, signal fire and drawbridge included. Built as part of a Local Challenge for the Lands of Roawia. More images in the flickr album.

    LOTR Barad-dur MOC

One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. Barad-dûr was held together by dark magic and was the greatest fortress in all of Middle-earth. It was originally built in the Second Age and razed after Sauron's defeat in the War of the Last Alliance. Sauron had Barad-dûr rebuilt during the Third Age as he rose back into power, but the tower was forever destroyed immediately following the destruction of the One Ring, as it was constructed and held together using the Ring's dark magic. This project includes 5.364 pieces! In comparison, the 10189 Taj Mahal had 5.922 pieces! Here you can see the size compared to the Lego "The Tower of Orthanc". I think that's the perfect height for the tower, not too small and not too big. Please click on the images, to see them in HD. You can find all images on my Flickr album. It has 9 floors and they are: (ranging from below) : A basement with an old skeleton The Throne room A blacksmith with a door A Palantir Room A prison A kitchen A room with the helmets of the Nazgûl A library with ancient books about witchcraft and dark magic And a chamber with the 9 rings of the Nazgûl The minifigures are: King Elendil with his sword Narsil Isildur with a sword 2 soldiers, one with sword & shield and one with spear & shield 2 elven warriors with spears and shields Gil-galad with his spear Aiglos and blue shield Elrond with his sword Hadhafang 1 orc archer with a shield 1 orc with spear and shield Sauron with the One Ring and his mace A banner carrier with a lash 1 orc with sword and shield @all viewers: Now it's up to you. Vote for my project on lego ideas and make the dream come true. Please also look at my other projects and consider supporting and sharing them with your friends! :D Thank you for your attention.

    MOC Lonely Tower

This is my first attempt at a castle-themed MOC... I had to try and build something with the new CMF gargoyles :-) So here it is, my tower is perched on a Rocky cave in the middle of nowhere. It is home to a very strange bunch of beings... WholeTowerMOC on Flickr Creepy Wizard's Lair: the tower itself belongs to a creepy wizard who keeps his various potions and magic books in his lair. WizardLair on Flickr Princess's Room: above a princess is trapped in a very purple room (she does not seem to mind being trapped, she like all the purple and pink and the view is not bad either, or maybe she just has a plan to escape). And above lives the Spectre, he does not really bother anyone else in the tower and just wafts around doing his own thing. IMG_8790 on Flickr The Goblin's hide-out: finally at the bottom live the goblin who is generally in charge of everything when the wizard is away. dungeon on Flickr All comments and criticism welcome, I am pretty new to this and keen to learn, hope you like

    Uncle Byron's Home

Dear Journal, I returned to Uncle Byron's today, and he was delighted with the new plant variety I brought. However, he's now looking to find a rare crystal rumored to be found on the dangerous low islands. I've never ventured so close to the water before, and will need to use a smaller more maneuverable ship. ~Little John Another build based in the Isles of Aura, I'll be using this for my first build in the Odyssey category of the CBC. Uncle Byron's home and the stables both feature full interiors. And be sure to look through lots of pictures to see all the details. Credit to Graham Gidman for the edit job, thanks Graham! 16. Hi all, I would like to present my MOC: a tower crane. I got inspired by the 42042 B-model, but I was a bit disappointed that the trolley function (which moves the hook closer or further from the crane base) wasn't powered. While redesigning this, I got the idea to construct a tower crane from scratch. The other big inspiration is the 8288 crane. I like how it was completely cable operated and the fact that it's a small scale set large size set. I also like that modularity of the 42042, a feature I wanted to incorporate. The goal of my efforts is a tower crane with a look and feel of a real mid-size TLG set. Functions: - Manual winch with ratchet system - Manual, cable operated trolley - Manual slew - Modular design The first LDD design looked like this (picture of a WIP, so the base and the trolley was not completed at this stage): It had a lot of 6x1 thin liftarms to create the lattice boom structure of the mast and the boom. This would make it a bit flimsy and rather expensive for me to order via Bricklink. So the next step was to redesigned it to make it simpler and more rigid. For example, the 6x1 thin liftarms where replaced by 4x6 angled liftarms, which on one side are a more rigid way of bracing and on the other side can act as the connecting element between sections of a module. I also reduced the amount of modules of the mast to get the part count down (in the spirit of the MINI-contest). This is the final model in LDD: That is the progress so far, I'm waiting on a few Bricklink orders to start building. EDIT: for those interested, the final part count is 744 part, including 3 strings.

  18. This is my build for Tower Phase 2 in Age of Mitgardia. Battles occured throughout the North, as the Algus continued their relentless push into Mitgardia. A Nordheim watchtower had spotted a group of Algus for the village itself, and what warriors the town had left were quickly gathered to try and hold off the icy foes. The men were led by Anar, a veteran warrior famous for his dragon forged spear. Much to the men's relief, the Algus didn't seem capable of freezing the Mitgardians as they charged into battle: In fact, Anar even managed to slay one of the fearsome beasts: Upon which the other Algus made an organized retreat This gave the warriors new hope, as it seemed that the Algus weren't invincible after all. I tried a new wooden wall design utilizing sideways plates and tiles to give a planking effect. And credit for the roof design goes to Siercon and Coral.
  19. Countless citizens of Kaliphlin lost their homes, belongings, and even loved ones during the drawn out war between the High Council, Desert King, and Ulandus. Many chose to take what little they had left and travel with makeshift caravans, to try and find a haven from the constant strife, whether within Kaliphlin or another guild: C&C welcome

I built this 2 months ago and only just realised that I hadn't posted it. Not much of a backstory, I was just experimenting with the waterfall technique.
  21. My entry for WarZone 18. The mummies wanted to get in the eastern guardian tower, but they had no battering ram to break the door down with... So they used the next best thing; a sarcophagus! As the mummies were about to start battering the door in, Aymeri and his men showed up and ambushed them on both sides: More pictures can be seen here: Link C&C welcome
  22. Hey Guys I've been wanting to do a ruins build for quite some time and thought that the mighty forest of Avalonia would be the perfect for it. Continuing his long journey trough Vanhorn enchanted forests, Adam manage to get a small boat to go up Green Lake river and get to the next village so he can get some supplies. Passing trough the lake he stumbles across an old watchtower, so old and decayed that a magnificent tree was able to grow from inside and the branches and leaves sprouts from every cranny and hole! He realizes then, that he must close to a village... Finally he will be able to get some rest and a proper meal. His task is daunting and it's finally close to an end... The size is 2x2 BP (48x48) and I used 3000 tiles 1x1 in trans-green! :/ Hope you like it! Green Lake Tower Ruins Green Lake Tower Ruins Green Lake Tower Ruins

  24. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96035 This is my latest/last LOTR Grey Havens project before presenting the humongous set that joins all previous ones. Description: Mithlond or the Gray Havens The Grey Havens was founded at the beginning of the Second Age by the surviving Elves of Beleriand, those who chose to remain on Middle-earth after the wars against Morgoth. It was afterwards used by the Elves to leave Middle-earth for Valinor. The Grey Havens was part of Lindon, the kingdom directly ruled by Gil-galad, last High King of the Ñoldor in Middle-earth. It was also one of the main sources for the Elven fleet of ships that sailed back and forth between Númenor and Eldamar in Aman. According to the map of Middle-earth Grey Havens's anchorage is divided into the Harlond (the "south-haven") and the Forlond ("north-haven") which occupy the southern and northern banks, respectively, of the River Lune. Because of its cultural and spiritual importance to the Elves, the Grey Havens in time became the primary Elven settlement west of the Misty Mountains prior to the establishment of Eregion and, later, Rivendell. Even after the death of Gil-galad and as the Elves dwindled in numbers by the year, The Grey Havens remained a focal point of the history in the northern part of Middle-earth. Third Age and beyondCírdan the Shipwright was the master of the Havens since its founding; Galdor of the Havens, his messenger, was among the Grey Haven's known inhabitants. Aside from Elves, Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins also went to Valinor from the Grey Havens, and a family tradition held that Sam Gamgee (having been himself a Ring-bearer, albeit briefly) did likewise, in the year 1484 of the Shire Reckoning. (Fourth Age 61) The Grey Havens still existed into the Fourth Age under Círdan but its population declined as did the elven presence in Middle-earth. It is unclear just what the Fate of the Elves of Middle-earth was in the early Fourth Age and how long Círdan or his remaining folk dwelled at the Havens and continued to build the great ships that carried the Elves to the Blessed Realm. The set: Basically I decided to portray in several mosaics the voyage of the elves to the grey havens - showing the ships sailing in sunny days, through storms, into the sunset, etc... The gate is a very tall one but it is firmly put together with the use of several plates along. And as usual I've used several motifs from my interpretation of Beleriand Architecture If you missed the previous projects you can check them out here: - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/51716 - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/84919 - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/88866 - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96032

    An Icy Attack

I tried a new rockwork technique (for me anyways), that uses technic bricks and pins to tilt each column of rock. And I did a hinging wall again, for the first time in a while, on the tower. It had been another uneventful morning for the two guards stationed at the Noror Watchtower, besides an unusually cold wind, everything seemed normal. The guards were on edge however, for there were many rumours of strange happenings in the north of Mitgardia. It was Kapp, the archer, who first noticed a group of figures approaching the tower. "Look there," Kapp said, "can you see if they're friends or foes?" "They seem to blend into the snow, but they could be clansmen on their way to the village," Svigi replied. As the group advanced toward the tower, it quickly became apparent that they were not clansmen. The odd figures were clad in white, and there seemed something unnerving about them. Kapp and Svigi readied their weapons, and eyed the oncoming band with apprehension. When they were within earshot, Svigi called out: "Halt in the name of Mitgardia! What is your business in these lands?" They offered no reply but kept on towards the tower, Kapp fired a warning arrow in front of the group, but they paid no attention to it, and continued their relentless march towards the tower. By now the two guards were quite sure the menacing squad meant only harm, so Kapp and Svigi prepared to hold the tower. But instead of storming the tower door, one of the party lowered his strange looking axe toward the tower and began making odd noises. The Mitgardians looked on in disbelief as what seemed to be a stream of ice began flowing toward the tower and then surrounding the walls. Kapp realized in a moment that the spectre meant to trap them inside the tower, and quickly headed for the door, calling to Svigi to do the same. They burst outside, knowing only too well that they had no chance of overpowering these new enemies, but determined to give their all defending Mitgardia. More pictures: link C&C welcome
