[MOC / LOTR] Tom Bombadil Rescues the Hobbits from Old Man Willow

Started this for the Lego Ideas LOTR contest from a weeks ago, but ran out of time for it then, and just came back to finish it now. -
Remember what Bilbo used to say: “It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.” This scene is about the departure of the Hobbits and includes: - Meeting Merry and Pippin at Farmer Maggot's Fields - The hiding from the Ringwraiths in the hollow under a tree root - Escaping the Nazgul at the Bucklebury Ferry In addition to all the trees, plants and animals, a total of fourteen minifigures (including a skeleton Easter Egg) have been used. Wherever possible, I‘ve included my own interpretation - e.g. recognizable by the hut near the river. As is the case with larger buildings, I find it difficult to capture all the attention to details in a few pictures. Nevertheless, I hope that you’re able discover at least some of it BTW: This is actually an older build (about 7 years old). Unlike some others, I didn't disassemble it. Now Rivendell is out, I thought it was a good time to start this thread. There is already a similar one for Star Wars, Harry Potter, DC, MCU and Pirates of the Caribbean, so one for The Lord of the Rings (as well as The Hobbit and any other Middle Earth) figures seems appropriate. If you haven't looked at any of the threads for the other themes, it's a place to share and show off any updates to improve your LOTR figures. It will be a while before I get Rivendell, so here are some I have put together in the meantime. Tom Bombadil, with his famous yellow boots. He is based on his depiction in the video games, as well as probably the best known illustration. I'm quite happy with him, although a more detailed torso and brown legs with boots would be better. There is also his appearance on the cards which features one of the crew of LOTR dressed by weta as Tom. I think Bilbo's Lake Town garb would look good for this, but unfortunately I don't thi k there are any dark blue legs with yellow boots. Next, here is one I threw together quickly, some useful figures to help you populate Rivendell. Using the 2012-14 elf hair pieces and Princess Leia's old torso, CMF Elf and Centaur, the old Snape and some other torsos from the Hobbit sets Finally, here are some of Thorin's company with medium legs. Thankfully all legs colours for the Dwarfs are available, these are the only ones I had to hand. I also gave Kili a better looking hair piece, although he could also do with an updated face. I hope to have some more soon, it would be great to see others work!

The Witch-King of Angmar™ & Fellbeast™ BrickHeadz (LOTR Product Concept) By Rui Miguel “Do not come between the Nazgul and his prey” Shortly after I finish my Fellowship collection it bother me I couldn’t produce them in physical form or bring you another of my creations. So I decided to make one more character but with 4 parameters: 1 – No new printed elements 2 – Only available colors 3 – No rare parts 4 – Under 400 pieces At first, it crossed my mind to make a Balrog but then again LEGO is already making one… So I skipped. Treebeard was on the table of ideas too but I ended up doing the Witch-King of Angmar. It’s a villain with a badass design and a very iconic look. But what close the deal for me was the piece 65473 that had the perfect shape for a neck of a Fellbeast dragon and I think I haven’t seen a MOC of these characters in BrickHeadz form. The final result, I present here 😉 Hope you like it. My goal again was to deliver a LEGO experience that could resemble the product standards of LEGO official products, from packaging, LEGO model and building experience. Beneath I share the PDF files of the building instructions for this set I made. I also added the Bricklink studio file of the model so you can upload to Bricklink and generate a wanted list of the LEGO parts needed to order. If you have the opportunity to build for yourself hope you have a fun time building, playing and displaying into your collection. Just playing around with a few ideas for a Treebeard moc. Thinking if I can get him done I might put it on Lego Ideas as a "UCS" version. He's not really based on the movies, more my interpretation of him from the books. Except for his moustache, he's surprisingly sturdy, clips and bars hold everything in place pretty well. At the moment I'm not sure about his eyes - they're pearl gold but I think they need to be brighter... or maybe I've overdone his eyebrows. Here's a slightly earlier version... Part of me prefers them slightly simpler. Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

Here is my participation in this contest: I try as much as possible to make my mocs alive thanks to the minifigs, their expressions and positions... This little contest allowed me to continue to practice. Passionate about medieval and fantastic creations, I acquired some Lotr and Hobbit minifigurines. The theme was therefore imposed on me... and I immediately thought of this scene from the film « Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers » The most challenging was to place a warg (which is almost 12 studs long), a horse and two minifigs on a 12 by 12 surface. (I finally added a third figure) I hope you like this moc and that many of you will participate! -

Tolkien's description (much of it quoted above) always painted a vivid image in my imagination. I actually made a "first draft" attempt at Menegroth back in 2019. But I wasn't happy with it and planned to try again for this Turin series. I'm actually still not thrilled. I've captured the essentials that I had in mind, but have by no means done it justice. To do that I'd need more trees to create almost a stone forest. And trying to hide animals in the stone walls proved particularly difficult for me. The floor was made using this technique. And you can see the first part in my Turin series here. I don't know when I'll get to part 3. Maybe before Brickworld in June, but more likely afterwards.

Lego Halloween – Custom Minifigure Welcome, friends! My new Lego Custom Minifigure – Hallow, a Sealed Mystic from my Lego Custom Undead Universe. I would say it better suits for Lego Halloween Theme. Thanks to LEGO for such a beautiful pumpkin. I used it repeatedly in my Lego customs. Lego Halloween is certainly an interesting topic for lovers of tickling their nerves – inhabitants buried under gravestones, bats, ghosts and transparent cubes. And certainly an indispensable attribute of the holiday and traditional decoration is a pumpkin lamp. Let's say «thank you» to LEGO for such a beautiful pumpkin. I used it repeatedly in my Lego custom minifigures. The holiday is firmly associated with supernatural. Rituals, horror stories, legends about ancestors, children wearing role-playing costumes with pumpkin lamps, and certainly clubs and Halloween parties for adults)) Super Holiday! The roots of the holiday go back to the tradition of the ancient Celts of Ireland and Scotland which is interesting in itself. We need to say a separate «thank you» to Halloween for Halloween's attributes that make this Holiday so atmospheric! Have a look at my Lego Halloween Custom Minifigure. I hope you will like it! Hi! Im starting work on an Edoras MOC and am trying to build up an accurate Rohan army which is cheaper to buy than the official figs. Does anyone know of some good torsos/legs/heads/hair to use for this?

https://ideas.lego.com/projects/c928192a-50a0-4c4c-90da-5224f92f1937 This is a build of the Inn of the Prancing Pony from The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R Tolkien built as a Lego ideas submission to be made into a set. I have seen other versions of this inn and tavern submitted to LEGO ideas in the past, so I know there is interest out there in having this inn as a set. I hope to honor those previous submissions and see if we can reach 10K. The Prancing Pony is one of the most famous fantasy inns of literature and I would love to see this added as a set to the LEGO portfolio in the Lord of the Rings or castle genre. It is a very iconic medieval building. I would love you support if you would be willing to vote for this idea! Thank you!

The dwarfs are some of our favorite castle minifigures and there are not many sets featuring them. A new MOC for my Pick a Brick City. I had a lot of black pieces and wanted to try something of a riff on the Tower of Orthanc from LOTR. I mostly build from the pick a brick wall at the LEGO store, so I had a lot of black 1x2, 1x4 slopes, 1x4 tiles, and cheese slopes and also 1x2x5 trans from there. I did buy a bunch of 1x4x6 windows and 500 1x3 slopes. The rest is from bulk used lots! So it's not cheap, but I didn't really make a ton of bricklink orders or anything. I built this because lego was selling the 1x4x6 glass for like .06 each, so I got 300 of them!

Hello! this is a moc I have been working this year, I was expecting to present it at the end of the year, before all this situation happened, seems like maybe next year hopefully could be shown, I woulk like to build part of the Hornburg, and a friend will make the mountain on beside of the fortress(I made the other side of the mountain that closes the Deep Wall, I just didnt take a photo of it apparently). We also need to gather Uruks, many Uruks, (this I guess will not be simple, at least I got a few extra elves if anyone is willing to trade of xD), and the gray baseplates also will have terrain detail. Comments and Criticism is welcome. Hope you like it.

Hi to all mates , I want to share my last creation.Its a grey castle in a 32X32 base plate + a 16X32 base plate at the front. I put some details of snow on the ground and on the castle..Also a little river and a gate that Eomer and the White Wizard will pass and find the prince of Gondor to his castle and discuss the possibility that Sauron returns!!!

This is my recreation of Middle-Earth in the format of the Skyline Architecture Series. You can follow the journey of Frodo from the Shire to Mordor. Through Rivendell; The Mines of Moria; The Argonath; Helm's Deep; Minas Tirith towards The Black Gate of Mordor with Mount Doom the Barad-dûr and the Eye of Sauron. Custom LOTR Knight of Gondor Minifigures by KORUIT

This would be perfect for the fans of the Lord of the Rings. For years we wished there are minifigures of Gondor army. KORUIT had released whole bunch of Gondor Knights in minifigures form. This is a remake of a very old MOC of mine, and one of my favorite scenes from the Appendices of LOTR. The original MOC was absolutely horrendous so I will not link it here. If you care to dig through my MOCPages folders, feel free to suffer! Thorin tells Gandalf of his plans to reclaim the Lonely Mountain (Erebor) and Gandalf offers to find the 14th member of the company. This is based on my own interpretation of the scene in the book, as well as a painting by Ted Nasmith, rather than the scene from the movie. I tried out some new techniques and styles here and I tried to put in as much detail as I could. Overall I'm rather happy with the results. I appreciate all comments and constructive criticisms!

I built this model as a prize for the 16th Colossal Castle Contest, which just started recently. As the name implies, it is a model of Rivendell from Lord of the Rings. Since I had already built a scene named Rivendell, I used its alternate name this time. Unlike my last Rivendell build, I didn’t base this directly off any source material.
