  1. Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4 Pic 5 Pic 6 Album A Lego chess set based on the Nexo Knights theme. Altogether, including parts that aren't available on LDD (8 Scurrier figs and the helmets for the 2 Ash Attackers), this model would add up to 1022 pieces. The base features storage space for the chess pieces themselves, and two modular sections visually based on the good and evil factions in the theme. The board itself is also modular and separates into four 16x16 sections. The two halves of the board can be separated and stacked on top of one another for storage. The chess pieces themselves all have simple yet uniform bases that allow for easy color-coded identification. The "good" Nexo Knight faction features King Halbert (King), Queen Halbert (Queen), two Royal Soldiers (Bishops), two hover horses (Knights), two Nexo Shields (Rooks), and eight King's Squirebots (Pawns). The "evil" Lava Monster faction features Jestro and the Book of Monsters (King), Lavaria (Queen), two Ash Attackers (Bishops), two evil hover horses (Knights), two Shields of Absorption (Rooks) and eight Scurriers (Pawns). I would love to build this physically and/or submit it to Lego Ideas, but am hesitant due to how obvious the idea is. Lego has released many chess sets in the past, most of them based on Castle themes, so chances are Lego is already considering releasing a chess set for the Nexo Knights theme. I would not want to buy all the necessary figs and parts on Bricklink only for Lego to release a similar set on their own!
  2. A revamped version with new elements from the latest LDD parts update! I especially like the SNOT portion of the roof's front section and the improved tail lights!

Lego Fantastic Beasts 2016 Rumors & Discussion

So guys, in just2good's newest Catalogue Revisit video, at about 4:08, he mentioned while revisiting the Harry Potter pages that "these were the last wave of sets from the theme...until the ones being released later this year. Did I say that out loud?" Yes, he did! So, I say it's officially unofficially confirmed! He did say "sets" and not "Dimensions packs" or anything of the like. He, said, "sets." So, I know I'm excited! What about you guys? What are your hopes for the "return" of the theme later this year? I persoanlly expect a reveal at SDCC, but we can probably expect some tidbits from our trusty members with sources. Here's a link to the video: Edit: Mods, if you would, please add an "n" to the end of "Discussio." Thanks, typo.
  4. Since its introduction in 2011 CCBS has evolved in many interesting ways that, especially since 2014, allowed us to understand how far can the system go. In 2016 we had for the first time two themes fully coexisting througout the year: BIONICLE and Star Wars. Both offered a wide range of builds and techinques, with the winter wave of BIONICLE creating a unique blend of CCBS and Technic and SW crafting models close to perfection. And while the BIONICLE summer wave for this year contains the controversial beasts, Umarak and Ekimu are respectively the first G2 titan and a perfect blend of 2015 and 2016 BIONICLE builds. On top of that, the recently leaked SW sets make it seems like the bar may be set even higher. In short: do you think we're living the best CCBS year as of yet?

  6. "When Kopaka, Gali, and Lewa unite their powers and forms, they become the mighty Wairuha! With the strength and wisdom of three Toa, Wairuha is ready to protect Okoto from whatever threats it may face!" After building my own Toa Kaita Wairuha with the 2015 Toa last year, I was eager to give it another crack with the 2016 versions. Surprisingly, this year's Wairuha turned out even better, even considering difficult-to-use parts like the new torso armor! Of course, I doubt Akamai will work out nearly as well... but then, he didn't last year, either. This model uses only the parts from the three component Toa (not including their respective creatures). I'd love to try and build a Creature Kaita to go with this, but so far the even more limited parts selection has made that challenging. Pose 2 Pose 3 Front View Back View Weapons EDIT: Finished "Creature Kaita"! "Uxar, Akida, and Melum combine their forms and powers to form Haikara, the Great Creature of Wisdom! With the strength and wisdom of three elemental creatures, Haikara is ready to assist Wairuha in the battle against evil!" I finally succeeded at creating a "Creature Kaita" to go with Wairuha! This model not only manages to make good use of the parts from the three creatures, but also packs in some impressive functionality and augments Wairuha well when united. Back View United, Back View EDIT 2: Instructions for Wairuha are complete! Instructions for Haikara are coming soon! EDIT 3: Instructions for Haikara are finished as well!
  7. I seem to be among the first to review the new addition to the UCS line. Long story short: it's not a terrible set, but I have completely no idea why LEGO thinks it belongs with Ultimate Collector's Series. This is everything I DON'T expect to see in a $250 UCS set: old, recycled, cheap and full of cut corners. To be honest, I find it the UCS badge on this set completely unwarranted, and the price only adds to the insult. This thing has 150 pieces more than the 75060 UCS Slave I set, but somehow it's 25% more expensive. And to make things worse, they were both designed by the same man. I mean, someone decided that the next task for the creator of exquisite 75060 should be "sell these same 4 old sets again".

    Gali Nuva 2016 concept moc

Just an idea if the lego group decided to go with a more Nuva design for the 2016 toa using some of the Star Wars contraction pieces. I chose Gali as the subject cause she was the easiest to make. 15. So I went to the LEGOWorld Copenhagen 2016 along with thousand´s of other people last weekend. It was a great event as usual for us fans of LEGO. As i could bore you with an insane amount of pictures of all of the event I will focus only on the Fan area. For now, most pictures are present. More will be added lateron! As I wen´t along with my sister twins, I had to somewhat rush through the event ( well, I didnt get the time to talk to everyone as you can imagine how eager 5year old kids behave ) Another thing that is really a shame is that I thought I had my camera all setup for the event. For some reason a lot of the pictures were overexposed ( I think is the right word in English ). I´ve been trying to the best of my ability to make all the pictures watchable afterall. Hope that you will enjoy as much as I did. Here we go: Ulrik Hansen came up with the information that its creator is Søren Johansen from Byggepladen (DK), and Cowboy Gibson from Brikkelauget (NO) A representation called Dragons Lair. As a kid I spend an awefull lot of coins playing a game named the same at the local Arcade, now I´ve just been told by Ulrik Hansen, that i´ts actually a representation of Smaug from LOTR. The creator is Sharon Vance from MichLUG (US). A gorgeous creation indeed ! JanetVanD were there as well. Her Awesome creation Fortress of solitude was also one of my favorites. Im so sad that my pictures of it turned out so bad. This is the best I could present to you. But check her creation out yall ! Transformers. These creations ( I know two are missing for now, will add pictures lateron ), can be transformed as the creator had an tablet showing the process. This scale and the way they were made was beyond my skills. Mindblowing to say the least. My god ! STARCRAFT !!!! These creations were also some of the best to me. I´ve been trying to build microscale Starcraft creations some years ago, but I only finished Terran and Protos. Zerg were the bane of my life. Those organic forms to me is just insanely har to accomplish. Cecilie is the woman who made these. I think she did it to what I think is the best that LEGO can offer for now with the part´s available. So well done ! You can watch all of her Starcraft creations Here on Flickr. And they are definatly worth checking out. Bricksonwheels were present. And while I´m mostly into Classic build´s or Historic themes, these just threw me of the floor. Seeing these creations in real life was just the best part of the day. So well build, so well presented. To top it Bricksonwheels is a really friendly guy. Check out his book: The Art of LEGO Scale modelling. Gulliver´s Island by Palle & Tina Haulrich of Byggepladen (DK). A fun MOC that I would have never thought of making. This was also a thing that draw the twins as they had recently been told the story. They enjoyed it as well as i did. An Rasmus Klump Diorama. Build by these people from Byggepladen (DK): Anne Mette Vestergaard, Lasse Vestergaard, Helgi Toftegaard, Henrik Kunz and Jakob Hestbæk. Again Ulrik Hansen came to help out telling us all who made this wonderful creation. I have no clue as to what, if these Child book´s even exist´s in English. If they do please tell what they are called. Another very well represented build with loads of awesome easily recognisable features from these kid´s stories. For now most of the pictures are here. Next step is to add text and so on. Im not quite done with the whole of the event. Busy busy. But will add more when I have some sparetime to spend on this post. I hope you got something out of it and enjoyed the pictures as well as the builds. If you know who made any of the MOC´s i havent yet named the creators of, please give me a hint so i can add proper links to the user, or at least link´s to their respective Flickr, or whatever they use to publish their creations. All C and C will be appreciated. Dont hold back. KlodsBrik
  16. Hey guys! As my Techtroners LEGO SPACE pseudo subtheme becomes more and more known (and maybe even popular in a way) I am starting to think about some real important changes to the way I am designing my MOCs which would have really strong visual effect on my future builds...and yet would be pretty challenging too for me to design them in that way I guess! Many times some of you kind of "complain" (OK, I know it is not the best description of the matter but I am unable describe it differently...anyway I mean it really in a good manner ) that my MOCs may look fine but there is one thing that somehow ruins it all a bit: as I am basically "prototyping" new bricks' colors it is quite often not possible building such design for real because such brick colors simply do not exist, of course. Some other "complain" from time to time is also the fact that some of my MOCs look too complex = too many bricks needed for their construction with real LEGO bricks (in fact I was always adoring those older TLG designers - mainly those form 80's - that were able doing so much and big looking stuff with just "a few" bricks used like <400 for a big space station compared, for example, to my own designs...wow!) - my "normal" brick count is actually somewhere around 1000 +/-. So my question is: - do you think I should go the way of designing my future Techtroners MOCs FROM EXISTING BRICK COLORS ONLY AND NOT THAT COMPLEX (like, let's say, 500 pcs as maximum thus making my MOCs looking not that too many bricks and fancy anymore)? - or should I STAY WITH MY CURRENT APPROACH (thus making it looking somewhat amazing still BUT ppl would not be able build it in a designed way)? Please, show me your opinion in my poll if you may - I would be very thankful to you if you do! P.S.: this would have effect on all of my newly designed MOCs from 2016 onward but would not be taken to consideration to MOCs that are already designed but not publicly released yet (one can very easily tell when was one designed by my numbering: just look at the middle two digits of MOC's respective number - it is the year it designed! ). regards bublible

    Umarak the Hunter Mods

These are my mods to Umarak the Hunter. Changes are as followed 1. Slight change to the torso build to move the arms up and attach the Shadow trap halves to ball joints 2. Lower legs are changed to use Uniter pieces to make them look more armored. 3. Bow changed to a one handed crossbow using the First Order Stormtrooper blaster. Extra ammo is stored on the right leg. 4. Horns changed slightly so there entirely dark brown. 5. Weapon belt from Hero Factory across the chest to store dagger and another accessory 6. No longer can unite with the creatures. I could change it but it would require using blue pin which I wanted to avoid using. Gallery when public http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=562781 With that out of the way here are pictures. View from all sides http://www.brickshel...ak/umarak_1.jpg http://www.brickshel...ak/umarak_2.jpg http://www.brickshel...ak/umarak_3.jpg http://www.brickshel...ak/umarak_4.jpg Crossbow http://www.brickshel...ak/umarak_5.jpg http://www.brickshel...ak/umarak_6.jpg Sword and Dagger http://www.brickshel...ak/umarak_7.jpg Grappling Hook. Well its to hold the Mask of Control http://www.brickshel...ak/umarak_9.jpg Here is Umaraks' shadow trap. I chose to give it 2 eyes instead of a chain tail to make it more unique http://www.brickshel...k/umarak_10.jpg http://www.brickshel...k/umarak_11.jpg Lastly here is Umarak wearing the Mask of Control http://www.brickshel...k/umarak_12.jpg Comments and criticism appreciated
  18. Hello! Since, like many other, I've been super hyped for the LEGO Captain America Civil War sets, I thought I may as well do a little bit more extensive photo reviews of each set, along with the normal short ones that'll be in the main discussion thread. Let's start off with the Airport Battle set. __________________________________________________________ Name: 76051 Super Hero Airport Battle Piece count: 807 Price: $80 USD Figures: 6 regular sized, 1 microfigure, 1 brickbuilt macrofigure Release: March 1st worldwide (I found this at my Walmart, however) Video review: The Super Hero Airport Battle is the biggest set for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spring 2016 line of Captain America Civil War sets. It's garnered a lot of hype, and that's no surprise. Rarely do we get LEGO Marvel playsets, and the inclusion of characters like Giant Man and Agent 13 (both new) and updated version of Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, a micro Ant-Man, and War Machine will attract the collector fanbase that the theme has gained since its conception. But is it any good? Well, let's take a look at the sucker! First, I wanna take a look at the figures. The first six minifigures and the microfigure included are great for the most part. The microfigure Ant-Man is so cool! I love the little printing on him. I'm amazed there were able to put that much detail in such a small figure. The Iron Man is new, only because of the torso. War Machine is new because of all of his armor. The face is a bit disappointing. They could've easily used the Iron Man 3 War Machine face. It looks more like the actor than the choice they used- the Cyborg face from the DC line. I'm also REALLY happy with the new Scarlet Witch, who has a much more accurate hair piece (that only appeared in one other set in that color), a new torso, radar dishes to hold that represent her power (in the correct color this time, unlike her Age of Ultron set appearance), and a nice cloth coattail. She has the same face as last time and it's a good face that fits. Agent 13 looks good. I like the choice of hairpiece, which is a very uncommon mould. The torso print is new, and the face print is Leia's from the Imperial Shuttle of last year. Captain America is pretty disappointing, as he is the same version as last year, with no new printing. Not sure the smiling face fits, as all the other minifigures have at least one alternate angry face print. And, the Winter Soldier is the same as the Black Panther set. The new version has the face of Star Lord, but he has a new torso print for 2016. Here are some minifigure comparisons- comparing the new figures to their older counterparts! There's four builds of the set- including the big figure for Ant-Man. The Giant Man build looks good! I like how they captured the look of a minifigure. There's some parts I don't like, like the undersides of the legs (which show gray), the gaps in the sickers, and the backside which looks thing and bare. Of course, the latter two can't really be fixed because of the format of official LEGO sets (LEGO stopped stickers across multiple parts, and adding SNOT techniques to the back would bump up the price). The airport control tower build is satisfying. It's odd to have so many LEGO Airport sets in this year, but I'm glad we do. There's an exploding wall feature in the middle, and the bottom barrage of boxes has an exploding feature when you stick the microfigure Ant-Man in the mouse hole. I like the top build with the windows, where they use hinged plates to give it a nice curved look. Including a new Quinjet is pretty odd. We just got one last year, but this new one is smaller. About half the size of the last. It lacks the white the last one had, and the back space of the vehicle holds a string to eject a minifigure once the "door" is opened. The wings can be positioned as there's two hinged sessions, and there's three wheels as a part of the landing gear (I don't mind this that much, but people seemed bothered by it). There's a little luggage carrier as the final build. The wheels used and the dimensions of the vehicle remind me of a classic town vehicle. The boxes and suitcases have some really cool easter eggs on the stickers! See which ones you can spot. Overall, the Super Hero Airport Battle set has some really good parts, but there's also some annoying flaws. I think the airport tower is the best build. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Giant Man looks good, but there's those three flaws I stated before that bug me. The mini-Quinjet is an odd inclusion, and the execution is alright. It's smaller and sleeker, but I don't like a lot of the edges on the vehicle and I think the white contrast on the previous version gave it a better look. The minifigure selection is probably the best part, but even then, it's odd that the set is lacking a new Captain America and the choice to have a different headpiece for War Machine confuses me. Overall, I'd give this set a B. I think kids will love this set, as it has a lot of stuff going on for its price, but adult collectors will probably be annoyed by many of the complaints I've pointed out. Thanks for reading. I'll reserve this post, for if the other reviews can't fit on the first post. They'll have much less pictures, trust me.
  19. Has anyone heard if were getting another fairground set for 2016? The first 2, the Fairground Mixer and the Ferris Wheel were very nice sets and seemed like they were planning to do these annually. Any rumors?
  20. I'm not much of a marvel fan but One of my close friends also a inside for me for lego has told me about the fourth captain america civil war set, toys R us exclusive in America, Germany, England, Australia, Canada, south east Asian countries and most European countries and more. (I talked to a Lego/toy collector friend and was advised to post the Rumor/ news here (another friend but from England). Set includes: . Iron man mk XLVI - broken helmet and black eyed face. (same face as the one from the new poly-bag) . Captain America, masked - (not the same as age of ultron one) scratched shield . Black panther - unmasked . Ant-man - minifigure scale . Spider-man - messy black webbing with lighter red then usual and darker blue then usual . Baron von Zemo - purple head . unknown red bigfig - (most likely a red hulk) . Hawkeye - he is tied up on a structure, appears to be captured. The set is supposedly meant to be a play-set with no vehicles, priced around $130 -$150 USD There is also a rumor which is supposed to have a 5th set coming out in may (because of spoilers for the movie), which includes and highlights scarlet which and vision. Bucky, falcon, war- machine, black widow, crossbones and some others do not appear in these sets.
  21. I noticed this didn't have a topic, so I made one. Mind blowing, I know.
  22. I didn't get many Bionicle sets last year, but I am planning to get more in 2016. Is it worth it to get the 2015 Toa or should I just skip them? I'm going to get the Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder, mainly for the small version of Ekimu and the Mask of Creation in pearl/gold. Are there any other 2015 sets I should get before I get on with 2016?
  23. I'm going to try to get back into Ninjago, but I need to catch up with the 2015 summer wave, here are the sets I am interested in. Final Flight of Destiny's Bounty Attack of the Morro Dragon Chain Cycle Ambush Should I get all of these sets? And are there other summer 2015 sets you would recommend? I will probably get a lot of the Skybound sets once I catch up with 2015, I might even buy a few small ones before I'm done with all the Possession sets.
  24. I've decided that I want to get back into Ninjago, but I would like some tips on what sets to get or anything in-between. Also here's my experience with the theme so far. 2011: At first I hated Ninjago, but one day I was browsing the internet and stumbled upon the Fire Temple set for half price, I thought "why not, it's cheap!", little did I know what this would turn into. 2012: I'm now into Ninjago, and I'm buying sets frequently. I went to my aunt's house in England, which had a LEGO store close to it (this was before the LEGO store in Scotland opened), I had saved up a very large amount of money, and then spent most of it on Ninjago... I wasn't good with money back then. 2013: I knew that these weren't the final sets. That's all I can say, this year wasn't very interesting apart from that, at least I got two sets. 2014: After the missing summer wave of 2013, I lost interest in Ninjago due to how long it was since a new wave, so I didn't buy any, mainly because I sort of forgot about it. There were three sets I regretted not picking up. 2015 Wave 1: I tried to get back into the series, but I bought an eight pound set to use as my judgement, i know it's not a very good representation of Ninjago. I might come back and buy some of these if I can actually find them any more. 2015 Wave 2: This is the main reason I want to come back to Ninjago. I think the designs are a lot better than Rebooted or the Tournament of Elements. 2016 Wave 1: I don't think it looks as good as the Possession sets, but I think it's better than the Tournament of Elements sets, that's to be expected, because Wave two sets are usually better than wave one sets.
