Here is a small MIC that will be integrated into a large Star Wars layout of around 100 baseplates (32x32) planned for BrickMania Anvers on 30/11 and 01/12 this year. My section should be around 28 baseplates, inclduing the 2 I present here that were built by my son. Smuggling Geonosians by Veynom, on Flickr Given the Star Wars theme and the fact we decided to go for a desert-like landscape, my son wanted to participate by building something slightly more original than the usual Empire vs. Rebels. He therefore decided to go for some kind of smugglers that would be caught by surprise by some famous bounty hunters (Bossk & Boba Fett). He started with the cave, added details around it then upon starting the second plate and the small rock, he asked me for a battered original ship that could fit well with his mini-story. In short: "Dad, no TIE-Fighter of any kind!" Take away: Idea, landscape , minifig selection & positioning: all by my son (13y old). The supposedly flying pice of junk: all my fault. This skill also made them good engineers. On their home world of Yag'Dhul, the surface is very in-hospitable to most species. To allow others to work and live there, many underground cities have been formed. Nalas lives in one such city where he runs a speeder design shop. Drawing up the plans on their computers, the Givin then relay the instructions to their employees. Hello all - I'm new to this forum and this is my first post but thought I'd come here for some ideas. I recently finished my first 2 Star Wars mosaics and am absolutely in love with how they turned out: Boba Fett (see pic attached) Stormtrooper (pic too big to attach - link below) https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=15425 I was wondering if anybody had some other Star Wars Mosaic designs that I could build to pass the time during all this craziness. It would be very helpful if there were Studio/LDD files and/or part lists to make ordering parts and building easier . . . I'm not very creative but am GREAT at following instructions =) I found a great Darth Vader mosaic on BrickLink Studio but it's waaaaaaaaaaaaay too big (160 x 160): https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/public_gallery.page?idUser=370022 The Stormtrooper mosaic that I built was 96 x 96 and that's about as big as I'd want to go. I made this custom Walker for my nephew's 12th birthday (hence "M12"). It takes inspiration from the Power Miners theme (hence "Power"), set 8957. My biggest problem now is that I have more ideas than I have bricks in the right colours I don't think my daughter want me to take apart all of her sets.... I always thought it looked out of place in the Star Wars universe though, it reminds me more of Babylon 5 or even Star Trek. Anyway, here’s my mini version, it was tough to get a curve into the wings without adding lots of extra layers but I’m pleased with the shaping, also I may come back to this and make the guns rotate backwards like in the old game cutscenes but for now they’re fixed. Personnel Files: A few dunes away was the CorSec ship Mick's crew had been given for their mission to save him. The Snarky Gundark was a Galaxy Class freighter first in production during the Old Republic. It's hull design had recently come back into style and CorSec had purchased a few for reconnaissance missions. Hugo had stayed with the ship will the rest of the crew went to save Mick. They didn't want any bands of Jawas disassembling the ship for parts. The ship had many features that made it perfect for a team like Mick's. Separate crew quarters for both men and women, a large mess hall, a mechanic's bay, and plenty of room in the cockpit. It also boasted a central turret and two side turrets in case of combat. There were separate quarters for the captain (Mick in this case) and a fully loaded med-bay. Mick would have to get the full tour later. Right now they needed to get airborne right away. Hurry! Scanners picked up a swarm of TIEs headed our way!

[LDD] [MOC] Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul from The Clone Wars

75537 Darth Maul will be released in 2018. I'm very excited to get this figure, but he's going to be the standard TPM version. That means he's the same ol' humanoid figure with standard black pieces and limbs. I was kinda hoping he would be the cyborg version from The Clone Wars, so I decided to build one myself in Lego Digital Designer: LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 8 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr He is made using mostly parts in existing colours, so I have the option of BrickLinking the parts if I decide to build him (and Maul's head sculpt will be released eventually). Some changes from these pictures will be made if I were to physically make him however: *The upper leg armour will be made using the 2016 Star Wars upper leg armour shells, as they have the perfect shape. They were however unavailable in LDD. Also, both the SW and 8M shells don't yet exist in dark bluish grey, so I might have to use black SW shells with custom grey stickers on them, or wait until they do exist. *The real one will have the regular lightsaber blade piece, but it was unavailable in LDD, so I used a substitute in the pictures. *The chest armour does not exist in regular red (without printing), so I could opt for a black version with custom red stickers. *I might make custom stickers of the black and red patterns for the torso piece, the chest and the upper arms. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 1 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr I designed it as if it would be an official Lego set, so I had a lot of 'constraints' to work with because it also had to be sturdy and stable. While I by no means have any idea what the precise constraints are when designing such a set, I think there are are only a few things that would not make it if it were to be finalised: *The lightsaber hilt would probably be of the standard design, but I modified mine to look more like Maul's *The 'ribs' that hold his upper body in place are probably a little too fragile for little kids, but I think they are strong enough to be physically built, and I kept them this way because they are crucial to the overall look. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 2 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr The 4M half beam is where it all began, as it is perfect for the shape of the mechanical detail in front of his stomach. I also like the light bluish grey peeking though, as it too is accurate. I wasn't able to make the 'ribs' round though, so that's something to improve upon. I also think the hip section should look a little more curved around the joints, but I do like the 'crotch' section as is. The hip / upper leg articulation is a little limited, like the K-2SO set, but not a lot. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 3 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr I am very satisfied with the leg design, as it is proportionally accurate and pretty detailed. I have chosen DBG over gunmetal, because while gunmetal might look better, most of the parts used here aren't available in that colour and it looks very matte in the show anyway, not as shiny as gunmetal. Plus, the Lego figure from 2013 has a DBG lower body as well. The lower legs are made with a lot of system parts to create the shaping and the details. They are placed around a Technic axle that runs all the way through. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 4 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr The toes are fully articulated using mini ball joints. The middle piece only has 3 ball joints, so I had to find a different way to add a fourth tow. In the end, this reduces its mobility, but it makes it more stable as the figure can securely lean on at least one toe per foot. Maul is posed similarly, with the hind toe extended back, in many of the official images. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 5 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr The 1x2 plates on the backs of the lower legs represent details as well. The arms are very standard. I used a black bone on the forearm to subtly distinguish the gloves from the mechanical parts, and because Maul's elbows look mostly black. I wish the official Lego figures would return to this type of elbow joint, as the B-joints are very restrictive. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 6 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr His back mostly consists of system elements. Maybe the shoulder blades could use some stickers as well. Sadly, I wasn't able to cover up the Technic pieces and that dreaded blue pin on his lower back, without making him too bulky. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul Custom Torso by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr His torso is completely custom, because it needed to be 1M longer than a standard torso (underneath the torso ball attachment point), both proportionally and to make more room for the mechanical 'ribs' and the custom hips. I started out with three glatorian necks as the neck and shoulders, and with the torso ball connector. It was very difficult go make it stable enough, as there were a lot of pin connections that had to be doubled up with axle connections, all within a limited space, but the end result is as sturdy as most custom Bionicle 2016 torso's. I have to wait and see before I order any actual parts, as the design can probably be optimised a bit more. Also, I hope the Maul headsculpt will work well with this MOC. I might have to change some parts to dark red after seeing what 75537 looks like. So that's it. I hope you liked it :) Please leave some constructive feedback if you want. Here is a small reversible vignette made for a contest on BrickPirate. The concept is simple: DO a vignette and make its mirrored counterpart (a bit like Stranger Things). I have selected Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader in a very classical way. Light side, dark side by Veynom, on Flickr Dark side, light side by Veynom, on Flickr A few highlights: Anakin becomes Darth Vader, that's the obvious central point; Clones become Stormtroopers, still a natural evolution. Trade Federation droids become rebels ... this is a daring evolution. Blue lasers become red, and vice-versa The light side is chasing droids in an evil environment but the dark side is hunting down rebels in a bright and white environment. In the end, which side will you go for ?

“She may not look like much but she’s got it where it counts, kid.” Instructions are available over at Rebrickable I’ve been working on this Micro Millennium Falcon for about three years now, in that time she’s evolved from a simple modified Microfighter into a chunky little micro build. I wanted to get the proportions as accurate as possible but couldn’t resist throwing in an interior. I tried to incorporate as many of the Falcon’s distinguishing features as I could, like the exterior holes, coloured panels and vents, interior layout and most importantly the Dejarik table (I always let that Wookiee win). I built it so that both halves are studs-out and there is as much detail on the underneath of the hull as there is on top. The upper and lower hull sections interlock in a complicated way and are held together by the side docking rings. The sandwiching adds a surprising amount of strength to the the weaker areas of the upper half as well as adding a fun challenge mid way through the build, there’s no room for mistakes or wonky 1x1 plates! This MOC is a final update to the Micro Falcon I posted earlier in the year, it still looks similar but has a much stronger structure and some improved cosmetic details in a ridiculous attempt at movie accuracy. My biggest sticking point over the year was coming up with of a better way to represent the tunnel. The 2x2 round-topped brick only ever fit at a 45 degree angle (not quite right for the ship) and because of this the cockpit was too far forward. In the end I just gave up and replaced it with some wedge plates which I think look good enough and if nothing else help to improve the strength in that corner. And this is one of the many dirty render and research collages I’ve stared at thoughtfully and scribble illegible notes on. So that’s my Micro Falcon done and dusted. It’s been a fun project and I’ve learned a lot about putting together Stud.io instructions along the way. I hope you get as much joy from this little Falcon as I have from working on it. Now, Chewie, punch it!

Hello everyone. After a long time I have returned with a “new” MOC. The idea came some years ago, when I noticed the several inaccuracies in the official X-wing models. I already had the first two sets, but at some point I realized that the official models have enough inaccuracies to justify upcoming re-releases. So I started to think how a proper LEGO X-wing should be for me. I began with a simple LDD file which I showed two years ago here in EuroBricks. But after that I noticed my model was really unstable, so I decide to redesign the entire MOC until I was happy with it. And was very hard to be happy with the WIP, because that redesign took me a lot of time, and the final result has almost nothing in common with that first .lxf file. After delaying more than two years, that amount of time even looks wasted if you take in consideration that I still have the official versions. And the MOC is nothing new due the high number of great T-65 MOCs around the internet. Here are the pictures: -The cockpit can be opened and you can sit a minifg inside. There is also a targeting computer adapted for minifigs. -The S-foils can be opened manually like the first LEGO X-wing. -The landing gear can be retracted from the nose and the wings, like the “real” one. -The cargo bay door can be opened, although there’s no so much space inside. Hello everyone! This is my first submission to showcase one of my first MOCs I ever worked on a few years ago of the HWK-290, The Moldy Crow, from the video game series Dark Forces / Jedi Knight. I noticed that another user has recently posted their own MOC, @millenniumf and has done a fantastic job with theirs. Some aspects of their creation have me itching to revisit this design and make some modifications. You can find their MOC of the Moldy Crow here. My model is pulled straight from the design of someone named Suboken, that can be seen here on previous 2015 EuroBricks post. More images of his Moldy Crow MOC can be found here on Flickr. My version was a little modified on the outside appearance. I chose to go with a dark tan instead of dark orange as the pieces were much more accessible in that color. I modified the exterior with small panels to make it look quite a bit more rough instead of the smooth exterior of the original design. I also made the model a bit more functional by adding a few features. I hollowed out the tops for some small storage room. Then I installed a slide-out panel from the side that holds several tools / accessories for our heroes. And on the opposite side I installed a launcher that pops out. None of these things are from the actual ship... I just wanted something a bit more unique and detailed and fun. I hope you all enjoy my MOC! Would love some constructive criticism and suggestions. Sorry the images aren't exactly the best - just taken with a mobile phone camera. But hopefully this gives you an idea of what I've created. I am considering fixing the angled windows on the sides. I first was thinking to use stickers but had NO IDEA how to do that. One of the worst features of my version is the windows are boxy haha. ENJOY! Several months ago @Brick-Wombat (Philip) completed my Venator Star Destroyer and decided to build a few more scaled ships to accompany it. When I saw his pictures, I knew the fleet deserves to be made into instructions. I reached out to Philip and we decided to first publish the Arquitens. After some back and forth design collab, aiming for increased sturdiness and better buildability of the model, I think the result is quite pleasing :) Obviously, the model is very small and simple and most of you would be likely able to build it just by looking at the picture, but I took it as a chance to try out some new features in Stud.io and hopefully get better in making some more substantial models in near future. [MOC] Micro Resistance and Rebel Starfighters + Micro U-Wing (with instructions)

Hi everyone, About a year ago I was inspired by @obijon’s amazing and very extensive collection of micro builds to start working on my own micro versions of my favourite Star Wars ships. I think I have enough of them now to get all cocky (what’s that Han?) and start sharing instructions on Rebrickable so here’s the first wave, the Rebel Starfighters. Update: I’ve thrown together some Resistance variants too! The X-Wing, A-Wing and B-Wing are fairly solid little builds, at this scale one-stud connections are inevitable but luckily these are still kind of swooshable, as long as you’re careful! The A-Wing is my favourite, I went through so many real and Stud.io prototypes trying to get the shape, fins and connections right that I’m so pleased I finally ended up with a strong and recognisable build. The Y-Wing is the most fragile of the group, it’s almost all one-stud connections, particularly to the centre of the hull, so unfortunately it’s only suitable for display. I’m aiming to build several of each fighter as part of a micro Rebel hangar display and with that in mind I tried to stay away from rare/expensive parts. Having said that I couldn’t resist using the skate helmets on the Y-Wing and my liberal use of those little curved slopes with notches pushes the cost up a bit too. Oh well, you can’t build a rebellion on peanuts! Back in the spring my first attempt at making instructions in Stud.io was actually this U-Wing. I managed to build the rear of the ship so that the wings fold out but there are so many weak connections that it means the wings are very fragile. I also have to admit that I cheated when connecting the engines, to keep those wheel pieces in place I wrapped a layer of tape around the internal 3L bars and pushed the wheels on. I’m still on the hunt for a better (and legal) solution and I’m open to suggestions! Update: I’ve just finished a few Resistance variants of the Starfighters, almost in time for The Rise of Skywalker. The B-Wing involved a lot of guesswork as it’s only very briefly seen in the film and trailers, but it was the same with the old B-Wing and Return of The Jedi so I suppose it’s a Star Wars tradition that’s been upheld. Overall I’m really pleased with how all these little ships have turned out and especially how they look together as a group. I’ll share more micro starfighter instructions (the next is the Millennium Falcon) when I can and if we get a good look at the new B-Wing in TRoS I’ll be able to finish the Resistance version of the starfighter group too. All my MOC and MOD instructions so far are here, I’m always grateful for any comments and criticisms. Thanks for looking and down with the space nazis!
