I decided to give a try to build my own version of the Razor Crest during the quarantine, but using my own bricks. Due to limited availability it had to be a micro version, but I'm happy how it turned out. I tried to incorporate some play features as well (doors open, kind of landing gear, "interior" or at least hollow space) and keep it as smooth as possible. I'm proud of the sloped cabin, the most difficult part by far. I hope you liked it. Regards, PaulPrime
obijon posted a topic in LEGO Star WarsRIOT MAR's STARFIGHTER IN REPLY LATER IN THREAD Hello everybody I thought I would take a short break from building stuff from the animated series and build something “real”. Also what better way to celebrate the launch of the first live action Star Wars TV series than by building something out of LEGO?! Unfortunately being in the UK I might have to wait to actually watch it. ☹ Anyway I present my MINI version of the Mando’s starship ‘The Razor Crest’. And I must say I am really pleased with how this little model turned out. I am especially pleased with how the engines have turned out. At first I was not sure how to attach them and keep them at the right level but in the end I settled on the minifigure neck brackets. The engines themselves are built around a 1x1 brick with studs on the sides and the two ends of the engines are connected with a 4L Bar. I also think those grey ingot pieces give the shape perfectly. The ship also goes from 1 stud wide to 2 and back again so I could use those new triangle tiles for the rear ramp section. I have also made the usual ‘Planets’ style display with the new Mandalorian minifigure. I could go on but I will let the model speak for itself. Let me know what you think. Jon PS. Is it just me or does this ship remind anyone else of the ‘Serenity’ from Firefly?
mcphatty posted a topic in LEGO Star WarsA long, long time ago I started working on a micro scale Millennium Falcon. To begin with all I wanted to do was add detail to the Microfighter but I kept tinkering and before I knew it I had a growing collection of micro Star Wars freighters and fighters, and here they are! Instructions for all these little builds are on my Rebrickable page. Since this all started with that Falcon Microfighter the cockpit piece (a light blueish-grey 2x2 truncated cone) became my yardstick for scale. Luckily trans-black 1x1 slope pieces work as fighter cockpits at the same scale so all the ships are, and will continue to be, as close to scale with each other as I can manage, at least based on these pieces and whatever reference images I can gather from Google. Rather than carrying on doing new posts for each new ship I plan on adding them all here. All the instructions are on my Rebrickable page and there will be some photos of the real builds somewhere in this post, plus a few more on Flickr. I’m having a lot of fun creating at micro scale, it’s quite fast and satisfying and makes good use of those tiny spare parts you always get with retail sets, so if you like what you see then why not have a go yourself! I hope you enjoy these little builds and thanks for stopping by :)
