    MOC: Boulevard des Lumières

I'm glad to introduce Boulevard des Lumières, my very first big 'Moc'! I started this project in march 2015 and abandoned it a few months later due to professional and family reasons. Then I restarted it again last September and finished it now in January 2020. The idea was to create a building inspired in the Haussmann style present in most of central Paris, without any piece count limit that would keep the modular compatibility and the minifig scale. So this is not a direct replica of any particular one. The street name is also fictional, there is no 'Boulevard des Lumières' in Paris, but its spirit is highly Parisian. Also, I'm adding some extra info and videos in the next days in my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lepralego/. Any suggestions, questions or comments are welcome. Cheers!
  2. What's the upside, dear AFOL's? ((I don't dislike modulars, I just don't feel I have the space for them, but I do build MOCs inspired by LEGO's official modulars.)) Anyhouse, here's a video where I showcase my custom LEGO town, Soltown, as it is in January 2020. I hope to post updates in this thread if it's allowed.

    [MOC] RC Scania Milka Truck

Hello everyone! I´m really happy to present you my next MOC, the Milka truck, which is my 6th remote controlled vehicle at minifig scale! I have built it between December 2018 and March 2019. I have already shown it on two Lego events in Germany, there is an article about it on Zusammengebaut and there is a video on Youtube, in which I am interviewed. It is in German, so if you understand it, it is worth to watch it! Unfortunately I have found only now the time to make some pictures and an own video: The video is a new record from me. It contains the most visual effects among my other videos. I was very happy during the making of it, because last time I have made only rarely videos. It was nice to spend a time again with the camera. It took a little bit longer, as I planned. Because of the complexity I had to record some parts not only once and it was very time consuming to create some scenes on the computer. I´m really proud of the result, hope you will like it, too. Till now it is the most simple and most difficult tiny RC from me at the same time. Simple, because the technic costruction inside is very compact. Difficult, because the modelling of the Scania front and the letters of the word “Milka” meant a really big challenge for me. Now you can find the electric parts just simply near each other in the truck, and the chassis is under the electric parts. It is only 3 studs high. Earlier in the same vehicles you could find 3 pairs of gears, which brought the power from the motor to the wheels. Now it is only 2 pairs. The servo motor for the steering is exactly there, where we need to have it. It can steers the wheels directly, without any long and big construction. The original plane was that I put the receiver or the battery box in the trailer, but finally I found a place for all the parts in the truck. For the chassis I have used a lot of half liftarms and small pieces of rigid hoses. They are very good here, because I can cut them in for example 1 or 1,5 stud long pieces, too. In the truck the battery box is exactly over the driven wheels, so the truck can go very reliable on terrains, which are unfriendly. I mean, it can go up to the pedestrian area in a Lego City and it can destroy everything. The whole truck contains approx. 1020 parts. Most of the bricks are in the body. You can read the world “Milka” on the sides four times, but all the four sides are different. It is changing, how I could fit the side panels, what kind of other parts they have to hold, or how many place I had in the truck near the motors or the other things. During the designing of the cabin, I was afraid, that it will be ugly with the big white panel on the top, but finally I think, it´s ok. If you would like to see and try the truck in real life, visit the Bricky Way 2020 Lego exhibition in Györ, Hungary. It´s not far from Vienna. 7-8 March, 2020! Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brickyway These are the infos, which I wanted to share you about my newest creation. Hope you like it! :)
  4. Hello dear Lego fans, After having signed up here in the Eurobricks forums in 2011, I posted a new thread in the "Hello my name is..." section about my plans to create my own Lego City layout. Now almost 9 years later, I can finally show you some of the progress that has been made just at the beginning of the new decade :) Good things come to those who wait. Renovations on the attic are finally complete (apart from the lighting) and we now have around 110 m² to unleash our imagination. The current plans of the Lego city layout add up to around 60m² in size and they are, as you can see in the video, far from finished. However, I thought you might be interested in some of the things that my girlfriend and me were designing in the last couple of days. The name of the city is still unknown, but the overall design has started to take shape with a downtown area, which includes all the modulars, and shops, a residential area, an amusement park, a winter village, a train yard and a harbor/beach area. I would also like to add an airport to the city and some of the classic monorail tracks have been placed already. We are also getting into MOC a little bit and we will add our own creations to the layout as soon as they look nice! The commentary of the video is in German, but I am trying to add English subtitles into the system. Please let us know what you think here in the forums or in the comments section of YouTube. I will keep you posted on future updates if you like :) Note: All of the parts used in this layout are original Lego parts, except for some of the baseplates. I thought that lime green in the Hogwarts castle area might look cool, but I will probably exchange it for regular grass green baseplates in the near future. Thank you so much for taking a look! :) Christof

    [LDD MOCs] imvanya's city cars

As some of you may know, I already have a topic for my sport cars. Why not have another one for regular city cars? The latest LEGO Ideas contest "BUILD A VINTAGE CAR TO CRUISE THE STREETS OF LEGO® MODULAR BUILDINGS!" was a perfect occasion to get back to building after a break. After all, 6-wide cars is what I mainly build, so why not take a shot at a contest? Choosing a subject matter for an entry was the first step. In the end, I (like many others) decided to build a delivery truck. I was able to complete it in about a week, and looking back at it, I think I may have overcomplicated things as I tend to. Anyway, I am really pleased with the end result, especially with the shaping of the fenders. It fits one minifig, 3 crates and a hand truck. The roof and the hood are detachable, and there's a brick-built V engine. Comments and critique are welcome. The model is available at Mecabricks, or you can download an .lxf file.

  9. Hi again, is a tradition for me, in this days, post at least 4 cars/vehicles i made in the ending year (yeah im that lazy...). All years I try to make something diferent, this year instead of making a car and a minifig, i take existing minifigs and create a car for them...next year i dont have any idea what woud i do XD... First one, the Spider, a classic bucket hot rod for a creepy and lovely girl. This one is a electric sport car for the city...well, in the beggining i have the idea to update the classic yellow sport car 6530 of the 90´s...with some speed champion windscreen, but i dont like how it going...so i end up wiht this, just simple plus somethings I like to try... This "no holes" thing in the top view is what im messing around....ther still holes, but not on top. This year when the stranger things set comes out, i want to make one sherrif 4x4 by my own, and i want to try this mudguards.....the problem is i have to fix 5, 6 and 7 wide studs XD, lego is not odd number friendly, but was fun And last one, if we ae talking about vehicles for characters....well, after 6 years making some cars was time for A BATMOBILE... As always, C&C are wellcome, hope you like it, Merry Xmas and happy new year! and one more year i have linked text, but this year i cant fix it....i will edit if some one help me XD, sorry

    [MOC] BRICK SQUARE POST OFFICE

Hi everyone I'd like to present my latest MOC, and the follow up to my previous Modular, "The Queen Bricktoria Pub". This time I've designed another British style building, a Post Office, set some time during the late 1950's. There is much more to it than just a Post Office though. Read on to find out more... As you can see this modular building has 3 floors and is built on a 32 x 32 base plate. I have designed it to appear as 2 separate buildings situated around a small town square. The post office is intended to be the main focus of the model but the building on the right also contains a fish & chip shop and other businesses. The Minifigures I've included 6 minifigs with this MOC. From left to right they are: Post Office Worker, Post Office Manager, The Postman, Chip Shop Owner, Cafe Barista and a Business man. Brick Square and Ground Level Details Both the buildings are arranged around "Brick Square". I've included a small flowering tree in the centre of the square and outside the post office there is a pillar box, bench, rubbish bin and flower pots. Outside the fish and chip shop is a table with parasol. The Pillar box is a simple build made up from 2x2 round bricks, plates and tiles, stacked up and held together with a technic axle running through the middle. The shaped slot section towards the top is made from a red wheel flipped on its side. Sandwiched between both buildings is a shared stairwell which can be accessed from the street. This is how the minifigs access the upper floors. The Post Office The pictures below show the interior of the post office. Mail Sorting Office On the floor above the post office is the room where all the mail gets sorted, ready to be sent out. This room is accessed via the stair well outside the post office. Fish & Chip Shop Another iconic British building - a fish and Chip Shop. The shop sells chips, battered fish, burgers, sausages and drinks. Coffee Shop Above the Fish & Ship Shop is a little cafe with a coffee machine, cake stand, table and seat. In the corner of the cafe is a stair case leading up to the top floor. Office Above the cafe is an office used by a local businessman. I've included a desk with drawers, telephone and paperwork. There is also a grandfather clock and plant pots. Mail Van I have also included a vehicle with this MOC, a vintage style Mail van. The Finished Model Here is a shot of the Brick Square Post Office, alongside my other modulars, The Queen Bricktoria and Convenience Store. If you'd like to read more about these other MOCs then follow the links below. Convenience Store Queen Bricktoria Thanks very much for reading. If you'd like to see more pictures of the Brick Square Post Office then head across to my Flickr page, I've added over 60 pictures of it there. I hope you like my latest MOC, feel free to leave comments and let me know what you think. EDIT: Building instructions for this MOC are now available from Rebrickable at the following link https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-22101/Bricked1980/brick-square-post-office/#comments

    [MOC] Bubble Building

Dear all, In last years I focused on bigger project related to not residential modular: firstly the Peace and War Square and later the Seaside Harbour Project. Lastly even a train control station.... Now I'm back to the basics and I'm proud to introduce my last modular MOC, the Bubble Building. It'a a standalone "classic" modular building. Some details still need to be fixed. In the meantime.... The MOC comprises three minor buildings: a pharmacy on the right, a choco shop on the left and a little tower in the middle. Through the gallery below the light blue tower you can access to the shops and to the upper levels. Each building is linked with the other. From the left side it resembles a corner modular, but that's not the case. It's the great balcony above the pharmacy to give this impression due to the perspective. Here follow the shots per single layer/module. Obviously the more chocolate you eat the more you need some medicine from the pharmacy.... Shots from other points of view: Final shot to explain the name of the building! Hope you enjoyed! See next time and wish you the best Gabriele More images on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/132864555@N03/albums
  13. I was inspired by this Winter Village build over on the Town forum by user @Nieks from 2015 to build this mid-20th century (think like around the 1960's or 70's) inspired Gotham City police station. The station comes with a Bat-phone on the Commissioner's desk, and a Bat-signal on the roof. (though, it's lacking a single printed part on the signal plus the front door should have this printed piece above it) On the right side you have an drive-thru awning for patrol cars to drop off criminals for booking at the station. Inside the station on the upper floor, just above the holding cell is Commissioner Gordon's office with the Bat-phone. Dotted around the station we have five desks for the officers to do paper work at, and finally, a single holding cell for inmates before transfer to Arkham Asylum (for the super-powered inmates and / or the criminally insane, such as the Joker or Poison Ivy) or Blackgate Prison (the common riff-raff / lower rated powered criminals who are technology dependent go there, such as The Penguin or Kite Man.) NOTE: The grille pieces in front of the building are supposed to go on the desks as part of the typewriter assembly. (It doesn't fit in LDD, sadly.) As it's the late 1970's or early '80's here in my model's timeline, the desktop computer has yet to make it's mark on crime-fighting.... unless you're a billionaire / inventor named Bruce Wayne that is! Set 71016 (Kwik-E-Mart) has had the police car changed from black and white to blue and white. The car feature seating for three, with two officers in the front, and one criminal in the back behind the security fence. The trunk of the police car should have this part on it. The trunk opens up, and both side doors open as well. Most of the roof lifts away (not shown) for access to the inside. As for the Batman and his arch-nemesis, I've already got his ride and the Joker's covered by previously released Lego sets. I also plan on manning the Police station with Lego Batman movie figures, such as Commissioner Gordon, Chief O'Hara, and a few other surprises. If anyone has any comments, questions, suggestions, or complaints please don't hesitate to respond below!

    No more city people pack?

I am trying to find out if the people pack from City are gone in 2020. By this time I believe we usually already know if there is one coming up no? I am hoping they still make new ones. Maybe a construction theme, pirates, farm or any other thème/subtheme.

    REVIEW: 60258 Tuning Workshop

Here is my review on the new Lego City 60258 Tuning Workshop: THE GOOD: The dog house and the new bull dog. The tow truck is great building and looks authentic. The trailer has great details and I like the colour scheme. Some great new minifigures. Interesting update to the wielding visor. THE NOT SO GOOD: Overpriced. I hope the workshop actually has a roof. The back of the sign looks really bad with one piece sticking out. One vehicle too many? I really have mixed feelings about this set. I bought it because I got some points to use at Lego Store and really wanted the bull dog. The dog house did not disappointed, in fact it's so good I wish Lego made a polybag with only the dog house and a dog figure. Overpriced set is kinda expected these days but I wonder if dropping one vehicle would lower the price significantly. The biggest problem I have is with the work shop itself, I understand why there is no roof to accommodate the play feature but having a piece sticks out like that at the back of the sign irritates me. Anyway, you do get a few awesome vehicles like the tow truck and the sports car. The minifigures are great too. (Am I the only one thinking Tread Octane looks like Adam Sandler in "Uncut Gems"?) . I will only recommend this set if you are interested in all components included in this set or you are able to get a discount. Otherwise, if you just looking for one or two thing in this then I suggest you wait for it to be in the B&P inventory or bricklink.

    MOCk the Police!

Every season, a new Lego City subtheme is announced, and every time somebody makes a joke about "(subtheme) Police!" So, I took that idea and rolled with it for a while. These are all mods of existing City sets, most contemporary but I've thrown in a few classics. I've also drawn on past City Police color schemes for some additional throwback goodness. There are definitely more themes out there I haven't touched on (Airport Police!). Feel free to contribute your own silly police builds :) Coast Police (Based on 7726) Who watches the watchmen? Patrol the seas and find the corrupt coast guard! Fire Police (based on 60002) Anarchy has consumed the City! Good thing the cross-trained Fire Police service can extinguish their firebombs AND arrest the hooligans! Cargo Police (based on 60020) Make critical shipments of standardized equipment to all of your City Police services! Special delivery! Shuttle Police (based on 6007) When the Space Police fail, who is Lego City's last line of defense? Lock up the criminal in the shuttle jail! Farm Police (based on 7636) There's trouble a'brewin' in the countryside! Help Constable Cornfield and Cow Cop sow justice! Bonus: Bonus: Deep Sea Police (based on 60090) Sharkbite and his underwater minions have stolen the Atlantean treasures! Octo-Cop and the Deep Sea Police to the rescue! Potty Patrol (based on 60073) Beat the Party Pooper at his own game! A clever trap by the Construction Police saves the day!

    MOC: Downtown

Hello fellow EB members. I've been working on this MOC for the last couple of months which includes a Cinema, bakery and clothing shop. No interiors were included this time. Its been only my second project this year due to moving my whole Lego collection to another room and re-organizing. Hopefully more to come next year! It is based on 1930-1940's timeline as it was a flimsy excuse to build a old style car and tram and more importantly the Luxor cinema which is what I started building first. Anyway on with the pics, 4 in all to include a few closeup shots. Any questions on building techniques or general comments I'll do my best to answer. You can find all the same pics on my flickr here in bigger sizes if you so wish: https://www.flickr.com/photos/52656812@N04/ Cheers!

    [LDD MOCs] imvanya's sports cars

So for some reason I have been building sports car after sports car lately, and while most of them ended up looking rather bad, some turned out pretty well like this one. Of course the front would look suspiciously familiar to some of you, but you have to admit that it is a really good way to build a sporty front. The rear end is inspired by McLaren MP4-12C, but is quite a bit blockier Comments are welcome and feel free to download the .lxf As the topic is now quite large and I might add a few more cars to it, I decided to add an index of the cars:

    MOC City Pizza Restaurant

So....I recently began using Lego Digital Designer again! I see that we have a special forum for LDD. But I think this is more fitted for the topic of Town much better. So here is my MOC Pizzeria. No its not a physical creation, but its still my own creation. My encouragement to other town planners is that even if you make something on LDD from scratch, you're still MOCing. Though I can't really give entire credit to my mind because I actually used influence from the shops that have been released in City throughout the years. I actually plan to acquire the bricks to build this. The middle wall piece on the front top is where the City Pizza logo is supposed to go. The grey pieces on the inside are going to be a cash register and some of the grey flat tiles are actually gadgets. So without further to do, feel free to talk about it in the forum.

    MOC City Bus Terminal

This is my MOC Bus Terminal building. I didn't really care for the half-butt bus terminal we got in 2017. Here is how I would've done it. Play-ability is still a factor. The bus terminal includes a seating area, clock tower and an office for the terminal manager to hang. I actually plan to push the baseplate out a little so there shall be enough room between the bus and the building. Part of the inspiration came from Classic Town set number 379-1 titled Bus Station. This MOC is a modern day CITYfied version of the sets.

    [MOC] Vintage Bus

[Updated] This bus was not selected to be final 15, but I submitted it to Lego Ideas. Please support it if you like it: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/e9b3598f-db12-4b90-aca9-206872843695 This moc is for LEGO Ideas contest "BUILD A VINTAGE CAR TO CRUISE THE STREETS OF LEGO® MODULAR BUILDINGS!" . I will design several more for this contest :D https://ideas.lego.com/projects/e9b3598f-db12-4b90-aca9-206872843695 In the old days, not many people owned a car. Bus was important transportation for people. So a vintage bus should be included in every Lego city. The vintage bus I designed has many playable features. The engine hood, passenger, driver, and back door can be opened. I also added a luggage rack on the top of the bus. Some passengers' accessories were placed on the rack, including two cute pigs. The vintage bus dimension is 6x18x8 bricks. I hope you will like my bus :D My other MOC models: [MOC] Vintage Stylish Convertible [MOC] Vintage Bus [MOC] Halloween Pumpkin Horse Carriage [MOC] ISUZU NPR Light Duty Truck [MOC] Karsan Jest Mini-Bus [MOC] Ford F150 XLT [MOC] London Double Decker Bus Dennis Enviro 400 [MOC] Lada VAZ-2105 [MOC] Subaru WRX [MOC] Classic Cadillac Convertible [MOC] Toyota 6th Gen.
