    Town update - Feb 2013

Dear All, just added Cinema Palace to my town, I was pretty happy with the build I will change the layout soon, would you have any suggestion for a layout with all modulars (except MS) and 2X16 wide MOCs? And how would you liaise with suburban area (creator series..)? Thanks for your ideas! PC_5 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr
  2. Hi all, I'll wan't to show you my updated train/town Layout. You can find the photos here: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=523275 Any comments are welcome. I try always to improve the layout. If you have suggestions for me don't hesitate do write it. Further plans on the layout: - underlay all with 32x32 baseplates - add railroad ballast - add a mountain with tunnels at the right side (monster house, fright terminal) to get some additinonal space for buildings - add a smaller hill on top of the moumtain-plane for the monster house BR, tmctiger Edit: I added a overview image of my layout to this post:

    MOC: Emergency Station

Hi everyone! As a result of the rebuild of my emergency vehicles I also finished a little emergency station. This areal has got a large dual garage for two ambulances and another one for the emergency car driven by the doctor. The structure has some room for the personnel. You can find a small kitchen, a computer workstation, a rest room and of course a toilet. So the doctor and his paramedics can do some acitivities beside all the actions. A little kitten from a neighbor comes around from time to time... The Farnheim Fire Department had formed a new rescue concept for the 21st century back in 1998. It implied to build three different Emergency Stations strategically sited throughout the municipal area. The goal was and now is to reduce the way to the scene significantly - and save lives. This station was built in 2005 and can be found in northern area of the city. So, that's all with that little (fictional) history of that building. Hope you like it. Here are the pictures... Thanks for watching. C&C welcome as always... Best regards, Farnheim
  5. Based on a reallife building in my hometown. Actually the outcome has almost no similarity with it.. Made with LDD and LDDtoPOVray.

    MOC: 4wide Dry Powder Appliance

Hi all, another bright red vehicle I've built a while back is this fire engine that is part of my plant fire department (an oil refinery). It should be the fictitious brother of a Unimog. The exact description here in germany is TroLF 1500. Tro means "trocken" (dry) and LF "Löschfahrzeug" (appliance). The number reflects the agent in kilogramms. So the truck carries (like a real model) 1,500 kg of class B- and C-powder (effective against petroleum fires) in two tanks. You can can also find the pressuretanks for the powder with its "control panel", two hoses, and some small extinguishers. The red thing on the front end shall show a small covered winch. As an extra detail I put a 2x2 satellite dish on the roof that demontrates a roof hatch (that some orginal Unimogs have/had). Here's a little history of the TroLF 1500: This truck was built in the mid 90s of the last century and is going to reach the end of his term at the oil refinery. But this good old low tech is almost indestructable. So his next operational area could be a reagional air field next to the city of Farnheim. Its little fire brigade is highly interested in buying the truck. So, this is it once again. Hope you like it (a bit) . Any kind of comments and critics are welcome as usual. Cheers, Farnheim
  7. I was going through, building some new collectable minifigs, and came across what could be one of the most versatile new elements this year. The roller skate is flat on the back with a lip on the front, allowing for two different aspects of a vehicle to be created. Start playing around with parts similar to this, and we've now opened up a whole new world of tiny. Feel free to check out more uses!

Winter Village: Sweet Shop and Home

Taste dozens of holiday treats in the cozy Winter Village Sweet Shop and Home! Continuing the winter scene series, the Winter Village Sweet Shop is the perfect place to get dozens of holiday sweets, including chocolates and other confections. This cozy snow-covered setting will make your mouth water. When the workers are done in the shop they have a place to relax upstairs, with comfortable chairs and an upright piano to fill the holiday season with cheer. I hope you enjoy my first contest entry ever. Thanks! Brad

    Winter Village Florist's Shop

Do you ever get tired of the whiteness of winter? Come see some green inside the florist's shop! This entrepreneur provides flowers for every anniversary, wedding, prom, funeral, and holiday in Lego Town. The trusty delivery man sends out gifts to everyone in the town, while the roasted chestnut vendor sells his wares. Here you can see the entire layout, featuring the florist's shop, the delivery truck, and the roasted chestnut vendor. It looks like the florist has gotten in the holiday spirit with his wreath! Above the shop window, you can see the nursery where his seedlings are grown. This is where the magic happens. It looks like the man in yellow is buying mistletoe with his special someone in mind! When packages need to be delivered across town, the trusty delivery truck is always ready. With room in the back for large packages and space in the front seat for delicate parcels, the truck is ready for any delivery. What's in the package? The boy doesn't care, he just wants chestnuts. Thanks for viewing my MOC. For additional hi-res pictures, check out my Flickr gallery. I had fun building this, and C&C is welcome.

I present to you my entry for: Expand the Winter Village Contest III The Winter Village Tavern! (I apologize for the image quality) I don't have any of the winter village sets (all the more reason I'd love to win one! ) so I had to look them up online to get a feel for their look. I loved the way the Cottage was designed and decided to model mine after that! Here's some more shots The inside! The side! Where do the kids go while their parents are in the pub? Outside, where they have snowball fights, of course! Full set: flickr page with all of the pictures (much better quality): http://www.flickr.com/photos/70459923@N05/ I hope you enjoyed this! Thanks for looking Good luck to the other contestants! Why did only the last picture load? Sorry guys...

This is based on the classic yellow school bus. I built this awhile ago but never took any pictures of it. I have modified it a few times since I originally built it.
  15. Please see my Hot Sausage Shop for the 'Expand the Winter Village' Contest. This MOC has been playtested by a 10 year old girl, who absolutely loves all the features! (and keeps eyeing off the prizes too!!) Winter Village Expansion - Hot Sausage Shop with Xmas Hamper Delivery Van, Roast Chestnut Seller & Snowball Fighters by mjfirefly, on Flickr The sausage shop is a two storey affair, complete with attached pig sty, just right for making fresh sausages... There is a total of 8 minifigures, including Sausage Sellers (2), Children throwing snowballs (2), Roast Chestnut Seller, Delivery Man, Business Man and Santa. The Sausage Shop roof can be lifted (using the Xmas Tree decoration) for play access. We use a proper log fire to cook our sausages by mjfirefly, on Flickr The interior of the Sausage Shop, a light brick provides the 'log fire' look. Xmas Hamper Delivery by mjfirefly, on Flickr Xmas Hamper Delivery, the hamper includes two bottles of Christmas drink, a carrot, parsnip, and cherries. The trolley can be placed inside the delivery van for ease of transportation, as of course can the hamper. Roast Chestnut Seller by mjfirefly, on Flickr Roast Chestnut Seller, the cart can be pushed along by the seller. Snowball Fight by mjfirefly, on Flickr Children throwing snowballs under a holiday decorated lamppost, this piece can be slotted onto the corner of the Sausage Shop so as it appears as if the children are peeping around the corner of the building to throw snowballs. More pictures of this MOC, showing the lifting roof, upstairs fireplace and other details can be found on the Flickr set by clicking any of the pictures.

    6 Wide delivery truck

Here is my latest 6 wide. This time it's a delivery truck - i was looking for something to build for my wife's latest town setting and came up with this. This will be one I brick for sure as I have little (read none at all) in commercial vehicles in this scale. I just have to decide what I want to do colour wise, I'm limited in the side panel colour choices as well as the rear hinge/door assembly. All images link back to larger versions on my flickr feed. From the side: Some random but valid colour mixes: and lastly a POV Ray rendering of the front and back An LDD download can be found here on my MOCPages account

    Winter Village: Train Depot

My first contest! I wanted to enter into last year's Winter Village contest, but didn't have any ideas at the time. Shortly after this year's contest was announced, I had a flash of inspiration and decided to enter. So, I present to you, the Winter Village Train Depot! Here's the whole layout. This would be the biggest Winter Village set yet were it to be produced, with a large platform and a couple of pieces of railroad track to go along with the main building, the outlying lamp and picnic table, and the hand cart. There are also nine minifigures: The conductor, maintenance man, ticketing rep, and six travelers waiting for the next train. The icicles were something I had not seen before, and worked out better than I had initially envisioned. An alternate shot of the main structure from the other side. I used the masonry bricks for the foundation, and was partly inspired by a few real life buildings in this regard. As with the existing Winter Village sets, I incorporated a light brick. This one is a bit different in that it projects outdoors, illuminating the lamp above the front door. A shot of the interior, where the ticketing rep is hiding. I built the fireplace and other interior details to be as consistent as I could with the previous sets in this line. A closer view of the interior to show off a couple of the simple details I'm proudest of in this build: The bow around the support pole, the SNOT-built bubblegum machine. and the cozy corner with a different type of brick built tree. The chairs behind the counter are brick-built and the hearth of the fireplace faces the front door, but they were difficult to photograph. There are more pics, including a building from which I drew inspiration, in my Brickshelf folder: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=518699

    MOC: Lion's Heart Hotel

Hi guys. Here is my latest modular - the Lion's Heart Hotel. A small boutique hotel, with just three rooms, including a very spacious penthouse. This one is also inspired by a Brisbane building - the Inchcolm Hotel. It has an elevator, which is borrowed from the Town Hall (the design, not the actual elevator). In the lobby is a statue of the knight who was said to have the heart of a lion in battle. And a neat little telephone bench. The first floor has a single and a double room. And the best room in hotel, the penthouse suite. The hotel is missing a restaurant and bar, but our guests will just have to go next door. I don't think I'd be able to lift the building if I added another floor! Good excuse to add a restaurant to the list of buildings to do. There are more photos on flickr. Comments and suggestions always welcome.
  21. B-RV-15E Hey all, I'd like to share my Latest MOC of the Hidamari apartment building from the popular Anime series "Hidamari Sketch!" It is an almost exact replica from the series, everything down to the colors and even the electric boxes are built. Hidamari Apartments by ChrisR18t, on Flickr Here you can get a glimpse of the building in the background: It was actually rather tough to model because the building changes in slight variations in color and details per episode. I focused on the details and colors that appeared the most throughout the series. Hidamari Apartments by ChrisR18t, on Flickr Another screenshot to show the colors of the doors, note that there are no electrical boxes like my MOC, but in many other shots in the anime, they are there. The big variance that occurs in the anime is the colors of the back windows, in many shots the colors of the frames are dark blue for all the windows, while other times they were matching colors to the front doors, I went with the colorful option as it gives the building a more "pretty" look to it. Hidamari Apartments by ChrisR18t, on Flickr Hidamari Apartments by ChrisR18t, on Flickr I also put in some lightly detailed interiors so you can at least see there is something on the inside versus just a hollow shell. Hidamari Apartments by ChrisR18t, on Flickr I have some more pics on my Flickr, comments welcome!
  22. After I broke down yesterdays little MOC I thought my Landmark store needed someone to complete with for customers so a w-i-p of an Elders store/office. 25. B-RM-10C Hi everyone, I've been working on this for some time but due to other projects etc I have only been able to complete it recently. I wanted to have it open-backed for better pics inside. Anyway, its a Victorian terrace street scene based in the UK. Its set in the 1950's period. I wanted to have it done for the same time as the Queens diamond jubilee as its based in that time but other things got in the way. There are two different terraces which is not what you would usually find as opposite terraces mostly match. I.e both sides shops or both sides houses. I figured it would be a little dull having both the same so decided to add some shops to one side and vary them slightly to make the scene more interesting. There is a barbers and a florist with flats above on one side and the other side has full houses. I live in an upstairs flat in a Victorian terrace and have wanted to do something similar in minifg scale for quite some time. The houses are reasonably reflected in style as the layout is pretty similar. The upstairs bedrooms really can be tiny! More pics can be found here http://www.flickr.co...s/52656812@N04/ Comments welcome and appreciated.
