  1. These are my Brickheadz of Captain Kirk and Mr Spock from Star Trek. I have tried to stay as close as possible to both the look of the characters and the official Brickheadz, except for the eyes which are not currently available in LDD. If you would like to build them, the instructions are available at https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-14988/MICHAEL1/kirk-and-spock/ Thank you for looking, any comments or questions welcome!
  2. I also cannot download it now. It says that they don't support LDD version 3.4.10 anymore. I tried to click the download link it also brings me to nothing.

    CSX EMD SD60MAC

First off, for any of you train nerds in here, I know it's not an SD60MAC. This is like a hybrid SD80MAC and SD50/60MAC. I really like the aesthetic of the rear radiator housing on the SD80MAC but really like the front end look of an SD50/60. In this thread I will also be posting progress to the build and getting both trains built. Right now I'm going to try and figure out a way to motorize these trains with RC motors for heavy payloads. I may just end up investing into some more 9V track and motors to keep the 6 wide form factor. The sides are blank for CSX stickers to later be put on the train
  4. Right, I have been asked to create this thread to raise awareness. I am spearheading a way to solve this, as I have knowledge in this sector. We have someone in our community that has been taking LDD files that don't belong to him, has been making videos on them without the original designers permission, and most importantly has been selling the designs as instructions when he has no right or legal standpoint to do so. Now, this is not giving anyone the right to give this guy 'hate' as it will not make the situation any better. Firstly, I recommend you read the thread created by @Tenderlok, that started nearly a day ago, and has brought this to the forefront: And especially this bit that I wrote just recently in there: "I stayed up late trying to sort this and eventually went to bed. I'm now ready to get back to it... Today I am incredibly disappointed by @Jimbricked... It seems he isn't listening, he seems infact to be saying one thing, doing another... I'm beyond frustrated with this situation, so this is closer to the line that we as community should take: Therefore, I am going to post in here and also create a thread in general. Here is his youtube channel: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCGzMhduUjLlnpBRHTaOJ8Aw (Hope the link works, if not, tell me and I'll correct it, I'm doing this fast.) This is not to open the door to giving him 'hate', this is a group approach to solve this, and I need help as I am only one man. In terms of consequences, this will now be in a far less beneficial light for @Jimbricked, because of his lack of action. He is now likely going to have to remove videos on people asking, or otherwise get an awful lot of copyright strikes... - Right, the plan: 1. Go on his channel. 2. Look though all his videos, and: (a) If they're your LDD designs, contact him and ask him to delete them, as it doesn't look like he's going to be contacting you anytime soon... If he doesn't respond, fill out the infringement form on Youtube. (b) If you directly know who the LDD design originally belongs to, could you please find contact details for the designer in question, and pop them a message explaining the stolen material is monetized and also has instructions being sold by Jimbricked. From there the designer needs ask him to delete them, and again, if he doesn't respond, they should fill out the infringement form on Youtube. - Therefore, we have legally forfilled the correct approach, by asking first, then if no response, using Youtube's tools to deal with it. - Now @Jimbricked, as you may know, if too many people send copyright strikes on your channel, Youtube is within their rights to terminate your channel... I recommend you cooperate with this or Youtube could in a sense 'slap the book at you' and you'll be left with no channel at all. I have seen this happen. - The other approach which could save everyone time would be to delete every piece of content (video) in which you have used LDD files without permission. That would leave you with the designs you have created entirely yourself, and the possibility of being able to continue uploading your designs in video form to Youtube. In this scenario, you can sell your own designs, but not those belonging to others as well... - I hope I have made myself abundantly clear... Regards, James - P.S. Any questions please ask." The "plan" part specifically is what I need help with. So, any would be much appreciated to solve this. If you know anyone affected in the form of stolen material please do get in touch with them, if you don't have contact details for them, please refer it to me and I will either search for info and contact them or get someone else on it with more links. Thank you for reading this, I love this community and want this whole situation in a better position in the next 24 hours than it has been in the last. James
  5. A few days ago, I decided to make something in LDD based off of a book I'm writing. I think it turned out pretty good, so I decided to share it. Here's a view of the top: From the side: Minifigs I decided to add: A door/hatch I put in the back: The interior, with controls: I also put a cannon on top: Finally, here's the LXF File Feel free to leave suggestions and feedback, I appreciate it!
  6. Hi everyone I'm a regular on Eurobricks but this is the first time I've posted anything in the digital building forums. I've recently started to design MOC's using Lego Digital Designer and this is my first creation... All the images were rendered using Blue render which I like because it's fairly fast and incredibly easy to use. I was quite happy with these images but then I saw a few other renders that people have created online and am blown away by the quality of them. Some of them are so good that it's hard to tell they aren't built from real bricks. Can anyone suggest to me, the best software or method of rendering images from models created in LDD. I've tried POV Ray but am not that impressed with the results. Even in top quality the renders seem to have a fake looking sheen that makes them look artificial and almost as if they've been shrink wrapped in plastic. It also takes hours to render the images on my PC using POV Ray. I've been pouring over other threads in the forum and have read a lot about people using Blender. As far as I can tell though the only way of getting LDD models to open in Blender is by converting them to LDraw files first. When I tried this though it messes up a lot of the bricks in my model. Similarly I tried importing them in to Mecabricks but this messes up any bricks that have printed elements on them. Does anyone know of another way of getting LDD files in to Blender directly without it messing up the models? From what I've seen, Bluerender seems to be the most user friendly option for creating renders. I read somewhere on here that a "Sunflow" patch had been created for Bluerender which gave a more realistic result with better detail and the Lego logo on each stud. When I followed the link to download this though it redirected me to a different site, so I assume this patch has since been removed. So I'd be very grateful if anyone could suggest anything I can do to make my renders look more realistic or suggest any other software or methods that might give a better result. Thanks!
  7. I'm working on a 1:110 scale model of the Apollo 11 launchpad (Currently over 6700 pieces, WIP thread here), but I need help creating a gearbox that lets me rotate the service arms out of the way using a couple of knobs on the back. The top of the tower looks like this (LDD file here): The first 8 service arms are all mounted on a single 82L axle running the height of the tower (pink), and will rotate 73 degrees into the wall facing the rocket. It would be good to have a worm gear to help lock the arms in place, though I am aware the mechanism already has a lot of play in it because of the universal joint I used to offset the axle at two points in the tower. The last arm, where the crew access the rocket, is mounted separately and rotates over 180 degrees to the side wall (yellow axle). I know this looks like I haven't even attempted a solution myself, but I can't even see how to turn each axle 90 degrees with a pair of cogs in the space available. Despite years of enjoyment from technic sets I've never managed to build any working/reliable mechanism from a box of cogs without an instruction manual to guide me (seriously, I still have no idea how anyone was able to design set 8002... and the Mercedes Arocs gearbox is just "magic happens here"). So any designs, advice, or suggestions would be much appreciated.
  8. Pikotu Beetles are small, hungry insectoid rahi found in the dampest places of Le-Wahi. They are most numerous in the Lake Pala area just south of the Tren Krom break, and the Fau Swamp near Kini-Nui. They eat spongy vegetation such as vines and leaves, and love the humid, fresh water areas they live near. Some have a ram-like protrusion from their head, others have a large, horn-like claw. They use these for defense against predators such as brakas and hoi turtles. Click the image for HQ boxart. Full render "Male" (Blue) Full render "Female" (Black) Full render back view (closed) Full render back view (open) Comments and critique welcome. This larger MOC uses parts from pre-2004, some color exceptions were made. The MOC itself has a unique function to unleash it's wings as you lift the elytra. The gear function is fairly simple, and isn't very ergonomic. I originally wanted to make a button feature, but everything collided with the head. The two separate models have almost the same number of parts, the blue one having a single extra piece. I think these are some of my favorite MOCs I've done, even if the function isn't very ergonomic. I hope you enjoy this MOC and the future MOCs I create.
  9. The Krikuva Mantis is a small, stealthy insect rahi with powerful arms that snatch up prey. They hobble along vines and branches in Le-Wahi's vast jungle, searching for easy prey. Friendly to larger creatures such as matoran, but if threatened, they'll lash out. They shed their armor to brighter colors as they live their lives, from dark greens to vibrant blues or even bright pinks. Click the image for HQ boxart. Full render Green Full render Blue Full render back view GIF of function Comments and critique welcome. This larger MOC uses parts from pre-2004, some color exceptions were made. The MOC itself has a unique function to bring out it's arms and snatch away masks from Toa and other small objects. This is all done from the back gear. This model was also going to have a function where the elytra in the back unfold as wings, but I felt it would make the MOC rickety and awkward to hold. I do, however, have a MOC coming up that uses the design I intended. Masks are supposed to go over the colored heads for eyes. The masks would be clear-cast resin Rau masks, and with the colored heads, it would look like glossy bug eyes. I hope you enjoy this MOC and the future MOCs I create.
  10. The Motma Lizard, a speedy lizard found in Po-Wahi's canyons and straights. They can reach a speed of 2.3 kio an hour, an impressive rate for a medium-sized rahi. On occasion they can be seen in damp caves resting, but they prefer being out in the heat of the desert. Click the image for HQ boxart. Full render Red Full render Tropical Full render side view Comments and critique welcome. This is a relatively small MOC, and contains parts only from pre-2004. The MOC itself does have a function, however, it is very simple. When rolling it across the ground using the wheels on it's front and back segment, the arms move up and down to visually express movement. I hope you enjoy the first of many of my MOCs.
  11. Hello, I have a question about Lego Digital designer. I would like to connect these 2 elements, housing 2x15x3m (#18940) and gear-rack 14x2m (#18942). Can somebody know if is this possible or not? Thank you in advance. Regards, Mark
  12. Hello everyone 1- I hope this subject is in the right place. 2- Sorry for my bad english I think you all have at one time or another during a construction, wanted to have a room that does not exist to carry out your project. So, you've probably imagined several over the years. 1- I imagined myself to create several in recent days (others to come) You can find them on Flickr HERE you can react on what you see. 2- Would you like to propose some already, in 3D or other? I opened a group for: - the techniques, - tutorials - new coins 1 month ago on Flickr HERE 3- Do you have any ideas? => Could you describe by embellishing an image that you would like to have? I can try to create on request if my limitation 2D (photoshop) allows it. By the way for your information, I also realized baseplates that are on Flickr. I would like your opinions, your reactions, your proposals ... TYVM Some exemples:

    [MOC] THE QUEEN BRICKTORIA PUB

Hi everyone I'd like to share with you my second MOC which I have been working on over the past few weeks. For this project I decided to tackle a subject very close to my heart - the Great British Pub! So without further ado... Grab yourself a pint and join me for a guided tour of The Queen Bricktoria! As you can see this is a modular style corner building with 3 floors built on a 32x32 base plate. The design is intended to be reminiscent of British town centre pubs or more specifically the style of pubs we'd see in London. The Minifigures There are 7 minifigs with the model. The 3 characters below are the pub workers. From left to right we have the Owner/Landlord and his daughter the barmaid. The guy with the guitar is a local singer who has been booked to play a gig at the pub. The 4 figures below are the pub regulars. The guy with the beard is the typical sort of old gent we find in many pubs propping up the bar and boring everyone to death with their stories of the good old days. The guy in the green top and the girl are boyfriend and girlfriend. Level 1 - The Bar Outside the building we have a busy street corner. I've included an iconic British red phone box and an outside covered seating area. There is also a sign board advertising events etc at the pub. The main entrance leads us in to the bar/lounge area. Inside we have a well stocked bar and a cozy fireplace. There are also tables and bar stool for the minifigs to sit and enjoy their drinks. Brown carrots make pretty good beer pump handles. At the back of the bar is a staircase leading us up to level 2. Level 2 - Pool and Darts Room On the second level is a games room featuring a Pool table and Dart board. There is also a pool cue rack and a shelf with trophies won by the resident darts team. At the back of the room is another staircase that leads to level 3. Level 3 - Live Music Room Level 3 has a stage for Live Music gigs and Karaoke. On the stage we have a keyboard, guitar, amps and microphone. Also on this level is more seating for the minifigs and a door that leads to a small balcony seating area. Oh dear!!! The singer seems to be a bit of a hit with the ladies. The Finished Model Here is a picture of the Queen Bricktoria next to my first MOC design, The Convenience store, as you can see my new MOC is much much bigger. Another picture below shows the pub next to one of the official modulars, to help give a sense of the size of the model. Thanks very much for reading and I hope you like my newest MOC. There are more pictures of it on my Flickr page so feel free to check them out and let me know what you think.
  14. Hi there, An eBay seller by the name of 'zacparis' https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/zacparis?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 specializes in reproduction stickers. However, for some bizarre reason, a reproduction sticker set for 5571 Black Cat has a derivative of my LDD 'Legacy' model which I posted in 2013! I suppose this did had to happen, eventually given this kind of planet we live on. Here is the mentioned model: And here is the derivative: Anyone else seen something happen like that to you?
  15. My first Lego locomotive MOC. Modeled after a BNSF ES44AC locomotive. 6 studs wide, 50 studs long and powered by two Lego Power Functions train motors. The three axle bogies have enough articulation to negotiate the standard Legos curves. It's made up of about 1200 bricks, took about 50 hours to design in Lego Digital Designer, 8 hours to assemble and cost a little over $200 to build, complete with electronics, from parts purchased off Bricklink. I've included the .lxf file below and welcome anyone to build, copy, modify or just examine my building techniques. I took great care to create many different groups to make the digital version easy to disassemble an examine. I've also included a link to a YouTube video of it running. It negotiates the standard Lego curves with no problems. I hope you like! Here's the .lxf file... https://bricksafe.com/pages/sed6/bnsf-es44ac-locomotive Thanks for looking!

    UCS Unikitty (MOC)

It's everyone's favorite unicorn-kitten princess, Unikitty! The breakout star from The LEGO Movie recently got her own cartoon show and I decided to make a giant sculpture of her. This is a 8:1 scale replica of the bipolar ruler of Cloud Cuckoo Land. The tail was the most difficult part to recreate and I'm not completely happy with it, but overall I think it turned out pretty good. You can turn her head, roll her eyes, pose her eye brows, and spin her horn. But best of all, the back of her head can be opened up to reveal a playset inside. This playset is a representation of Unikitty's mind. As we all know, her mind is all sunshine and rainbows, but she keeps her anger locked up deep inside a corner of her mind. When she gets angry, her angry self breaks out of its cage and unleashes her fury! I tried to build it out of existing parts so that I could potentially build it IRL if I felt like it. This is why I had to make the neck in lime green instead of cool green. I think the only part I used that doesn't exist in these colors is the light royal blue 1x1 cone at the top of the horn. So it is possible to build it for the most part, but I think it will be too much trouble tracking down all the parts in the correct colors. This was going to be an Ideas project, but sadly it was rejected due to it being based on a current IP. Thanks for looking, and remember: Stay positive!
  17. Update - she's built and pics added! These 4-4-0's were so popular in the US from the mid-1800's to the mid-1900's that they are referred to as a 4-4-0 American. They were a mainline work horse until the early 1900's when larger engines replaced them but they continued service on shortlines and spurs until the 1950's. My particular engine was inspired by #185 of the St.Louis-San Francisco Railway, nicknamed Frisco. It has 1050 bricks between the engine and tender and took me over 50 hours to make in LDD. It's 8 bricks wide and I tried hard to capture many of the important details without making it too super detailed. I focused mainly on scale and proportions. I did add good detail to the boiler in the cab and gave the tender good detail behind the cab to include the coal shoot and working coal doors. It's powered by a PF train motor under the engine with the battery and receiver housed in the tender. The very top of the coal heap serves as the button for the battery and you can look straight down and see the battery light glowing green. The cable for the motor runs under the floor of the engine and tender, but just above the coupler, keeping it out of sight. The .lxf file is quite detailed with over a dozen different groups making it easy to take the engine and tender apart allowing you to make modifications, change colors or just to examine my building technique. I have not run it through Bricklink yet, so there could be some parts in certain colors that are not available, like all the metallic gold in the cab for example. Here's a link to more history about the Frisco Railway... https://www.american-rails.com/the-frisco.html Here's a link to the .lxf file... https://bricksafe.com/pages/sed6/4-4-0-american-locomotive And here's some pics (click on each for bigger)...Hope you like!
  18. Hi, I could use some help working out which triangles built from a mix of technic beams and bricks are actually valid (or at least, not going to damage or strain the parts when they're assembled). For example, if you stack a load of 1x16 technic bricks, then attach a beam at an angle of about 22.6 degrees, every 14th pin hole on the beam lines up with a pin hole in a brick. Are there any other "magic angles" where the rotated beam's pin holes line back up with the grid? And if so, how can you calculate what they are, since 6 vertical bricks = a beam of 7 pin holes, and this seems to throw Pythagoras' law? I'm also interested in calculating more "unusual" triangles - for instance, what if the stack of bricks includes one or two plates, or what if the bricks change to 1x1 technic bricks (i.e. pin holes with a half stud offset). Is there a list of valid triangles, or a way to calculate what will work? And what are the tolerances before such a triangle starts popping the bricks apart? My specific use case is in a scale model of the launch pad for the Apollo moon rocket, one of the lower levels has to be 8 bricks and 2 plates high (plus or preferably minus 1-2 plates), and I'm looking for an angled beam that will produce the sloping side. Unfortunately, it can't be under too much strain, as a ~1m tall tower will sit on top and need a reasonably solid foundation. I'm going crazy with trial and error in LDD and a few rough prototypes in real life - could some kind soul give me some advice?

    [MOC] Barbinator the fairy

Hello, my dear visitors! Have you ever dreamed of a fairy paying you a visit? Well, you may want to reconsider. Such amazing! So mobility! Much wow! "A modern toy". This action figure is meant to illustrate the sorry state in which the child and teen entertainment industry is finding itself in our age. My intention was to leave as much humanly features as possible, overlaying them with the sheer inhumanity of modern toys and games. If you think that parents can effectively shield their children from corporations who employ flocks of shrewd marketeers, then think again. There's only so much one can can do, and this is where we are headed. Leg movement animation. Click here to see my attempt in composite animation which was too heavy to be embedded. An angelic "Kill Teal" version. A dangerous kind of beauty... isn't she?? Thanks for your attention and I hope you enjoyed her company! x)
  20. Hi I'm using lego digital designer and I hope I'm not the only one who does this, but I love making my own brick decals or "stickers" by using this method:http://www.rockraidersunited.com/topic/5399-tutorial-adding-custom-decals-into-ldd/ or some other website I forget. But I cant add a decal to this door piece, (58381) I do what the instructions from the link above told me, It works for most pieces but not this one please help.

  22. I have noticed that there seems to be a lot of posts where someone shares an LDD file and then someone else has trouble uploading directly to bricklink. I have found a method that works pretty well and I would like to share it here. Please share your feedback and feel free to link to this topic if you find someone in the same situation. Supertruper's Guide to retrieving parts from LDD using Rebrickable Things you will need: Rebrickable account Bricklink or brickowl account LDD file of something you want to build Here are the steps after you have the things above. 1. Log into Rebrickable and navigate to the "My Custom Lists" section 2. On the left click "Add New List" 3. (Optional) rename your list using the "Edit List Details" button 4. Click "Import Parts" and browse or drag your LDD file 5. Click "Append Parts" From here the parts list will load but there will be color errors and Minifig parts do not come up correctly. There will also be no prints selected. Any printed parts will need to be updated. 6. Once all the parts are adjusted click "Buy Parts" from here you can add them to your Bricklink or Brickowl account Thanks for reading, please don't hesitate to provide feedback or corrections. Please also feel free to ask for help here and I will try to help you out as much as I know how.

My take at a polar convoy

Hi guys, It's my first post on the forum, so I hope I'm not messing up with the system. Just wanted to show-off my first set on LDD and get your feedback and ideas to improve it. It's a polar convoy with a robust, four-belt truck pulling a mobile scientific base and a sliding container to park a three-wheeled snowmobil in. I submitted it to Lego Ideas, so you can get more pictures and details there: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/c9f30b38-796d-47b8-b795-b63ff6c0ed24 Enjoy!

    Dairanger Brickheadz

I got bored one day and came across some Power Rangers Brickheadz. I decided to make some based on the 17th season of Super Sentai, which is a 42 year old show that Haim Saban would later adapt in 1992 with Zyuranger becoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. This is the appearance of the Dairangers.
