When I have had the basic TIE Fighter done I knew I also had the First Order design done, after all, it is only a matter of simple redesign and adding an antenna, right? Not right, as I have realised. First tricky question is: How many new TIE craft were introduced in the Force Awakens movie, hmm? The obvious hotrodesque red striped two-seater ship which Poe and yet-to-be-named-Finn use to escape? Like this? ..obvious... but wait: ...whaaaaaat? So yeah, there are, in fact, TWO new TIE fighters. And believe me, there are plenty of differences between old and new ships. What was meant to be a simple recoloring job and generating new instructions with few clicks, ended up being month-and-half job to do. I still believe it was worth it, though, what do you think? Hello everybody and nice to meet you, I'm a new member on Eurobricks, I presented myself a few days ago here! Today I try to open my first thread, and doing so I would like to show you those creations of mine. They are not exactly mocs, as they are based on official sets, but they are sort of modifications I considered necessary to improve the original Lego models. Down here you can find the pictures of the Tie Fighter, a couple of posts below you can see my modded U-wing! So, let's start: [MOD] First Order Special Forces Tie Fighter by SpaceBrick, on Flickr [MOD] First Order Special Forces Tie Fighter by SpaceBrick, on Flickr There are more modifications than you can probably see at a first look. First of all, the wings: black stripes have been placed on the inner side of the wings, and the outer black plates has been replaced with tiles. Inner and outer stripes has practically the same angle, so they blend easily in the model. Horizontal lines are realized by using 1x2 jumpers, diagonal lines with longer tiles, and are kept in place only with a 1x1 plate that allows the rotation of the elements. They are not very sturdy, but are more than enough if your plan is to show the model only on the pedestal. There were also some dbg plates in the wing panels, I replaced them with lbg to uniform the color. Moving to the cockpit, a big part of the curves have been redesigned to improve the sphere effect. Lego designers were clearly forced to create a playable solid model (and to include the horrible springload shooters), limitation I didn't have, so I could replace some pieces to improve the geometries and collocate the red parts in a more trusty way. I also used two small red stickers to create the right angle, but it hasn't been a so good idea, probably. The front printed round element has been rotate by 90 degrees to blend its joint with the red section. In the future I will probably replace the whole piece with another withound the joint (does it exist?) and in a different color, because I don't like the choice to use a transparent red piece. Another modified part is the joint of the cockpit with the wings, where I used some grill 1x2 tiles instead of simple 1x2 black tiles, as the real model shows far more lines than the actual set. Also the antenna has been simplified with smaller pieces to respect the right proportion with the ship. The engines on the side are definitely bigger and more protruding than the set's ones. Take a look at the end of the post to see a comparison with a toy model. I'm not sure about the red wake I included, but it's definitely nice! There were also some visible technic parts that have been covered with black tiles. Lastly, here it is the pedestal I created with spare technic parts. It is not adjustable as the one you can find in the UCS model, but keeps the fighter in a good angled position very nice to be exposed. The minifig will be replaced with the special forces pilot as soon as I will buy the new Kylo Ren's Tie Silencer. Another possibility would be to place, insted of the pilot, the characters who used this ship in the movie, Poe Dameron and Finn in the stormtrooper suit. Hi Everyone, My first post here. I have been working on a lego star wars mini ship set for awhile now and thought i'd share it with everyone here. The ships are primarily built to play with my 2 boys (4 and 1.5) so they have to be extra durable. I do my best to get sizing as close to same scale for all the ships as I can. I have a few more ships as well you can check on my Flickr page. There are many more photos of each of the individual ships but wanted to post a fun little render I was playing around with here. Review LEGO Star Wars First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter 75101

His High Exaltedness the Great Jabba the Hutt's custom built heavy-fighter, named by Jabba himself as ''Choba Mafa'' (Huttese for 'My Final Offer') - Translation source: http://www.completewermosguide.com/huttnoncanondictionary.html . One of the head Sienar designers was 'forcefully employed' to oversee the creation of this ship (he mysteriously vanished after it was completed) and it was officially dubbed the QQRIE Fighter (Quin+Quad Retrothrust Ion Engines), more simply pronounced as a 'Cry Fighter'. There is a turret on the underside (turns 360 degrees with vertical movement for all cannons) which is reluctantly manned by Bib Fortuna himself (cheekily nicknamed 'the Belly turret' by one of Jabba's mechanics who has since also vanished) + no self respecting Hutt travels anywhere without at least one AstroChef droid to keep the snacks flowing wherever they go. The ship is armed with 2 x powerful twin laser canons mounted just inside of the solar fin joints with twin ion canons and proton torpedo tubes fitted on either side of the cockpit. The turret features a front quad laser canon with an ion cannon on one side and a large rear mounted 'beam canon' around the other side. There are 4 shield emitters mounted on the cockpit roof and the interior is gravity + climate controlled perfectly for a Hutt's comfort. Inside the cockpit area there are various vessels for holding snacks and munchies with a small integrated kitchenette at the rear for the Astrochef (MN-Chi-1) to do his work. The overhead control arms are specially designed to compensate for a Hutt's lack of reach + there are additional levers built into the side recess which are controlled by his tail. I managed to get ahold of a UCS Tie Fighter in an Amazon lightning deal for $130 last year. I wasn't interested in the set itself and was hoping I'd be able to sell it on the aftermarket, but considering how it's still only going for around $180 on Bricklink, I'm not sure if my return on investment would be that high. I'm planning to buy one larger set before I take a break from LEGO over the next year, so I thought I might be able to trade the Tie Fighter instead of selling it. Here are the three top options I'm considering right now: - Trade it now for a 70751 Temple of Airjitzu (same RRP) - Wait a few months and then trade it for the Destiny's Bounty and City Chase from the Ninjago Movie line - Keep it until it's discontinued, then sell it (hopefully value will have increased by then) I might also be willing to trade it for another $200 set or bundle of sets, depending on who's interested. This is my first time attempting to make a transaction like this, so if anyone has any suggestions, or is interested in buying/trading for the set, I would really appreciate it.

Hey everyone, Was just browsing the board and noticed @Forresto asking about Rebels style Tie Fighters, so I pulled up the ones I designed a little while back that I hadn't posted yet. I haven't had time to build them in real bricks yet, but once I get some free time I'll probably give it a go. First up in the Standard Rebels Tie Fighter; I combined multiple techniques from different builders from here and on Flickr to get the ball as round as possible, I can't remember who right now, but if I remember I will try to add names. Changing the wing size from the standard was a bit of a pain but this seams to hold together. Next is my version of the Inquisitor's Tie Advanced Prototype; The wings were also a pain to build on this one, I tried to keep them as thin as possible, which unfortunately means they aren't the strongest design, but they will work for now. Hope you all enjoy, I realise tie fighters are a dime a dozen, but I tried to go in a different direction with my design to better fit the Rebels aesthetic.

[LDD][MOD] TIE/sk x1 Experimental Air Superiority Fighter

May I present an all-new MOD design: --TIE Striker-- Straight from the new film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the TIE Striker is a brilliantly-designed new variant on the original craft. With a wide array of armament and weaponry, and sporting a new atmosphere-friendly design, this TIE variant proves to be a match for even the best Rebel pilots. The Lego Group has released their own version of the craft. There are many things I liked about their design, and given this is a MOD, there are a few similarities in design. What separates this one from their model, however, is the increased range in features and detail. When redesigning the wings, I decided to switch some of the plates with tile pieces. I am one of those Lego builders who prefers tiles over plates for wing designs. Plus, the wings look even sleeker now. In addition, the wings feature front blasters, smaller, custom-designed hinges, and underside accent builds. For the body, I went to the visual guide for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. There are MANY things in that one that, surprisingly, weren't incorporated into the official Lego release (i.e. a second pilot seat, and a storage area for the bombs). I am very pleased to say that this version includes those design characteristics. Starting with the front, I updated the controls for the TIE pilot, which are more minifigure-friendly and realistic. Also, I switched the hatch build with the hatch plate (looks more like the original ship); I updated the front blasters with a new hinge piece, rather than the spring-loaded missiles; and I added some underside blasters as well. The center storage area includes an area for 16 bombs. Also underneath that area, I've included a hatch where those bombs can be deployed/dropped. Finally, as I said previously, the rear end includes an area for a 2nd pilot, as well as controls and handlebars for TIE Pilot operations. The end also includes a redesigned engine, with the familiar engine design of the original craft. I am very excited to share my MOD with you all, and I hope you guys are excited to build it for yourself. MOCpages Please let me know what you think below. God bless! -
About a year and a half ago I posted my initial TIE Interceptor model and I pointed out a few areas that I didn't like, notably the wing pylons. I went through two more changes, each being stronger than the last but that wasn't all I was unhappy with. I ended up building a second version, totally from scratch, using Belkor's wing pylon design. New cockpit interior (hell, entirely new cockpit), new thinner wings - only two plates thick. But my absolute favourite part of my second, improved version is a functional rear viewport. Unfortunately, I am currently lacking the money to buy extra pieces for v2 so only renders for now. There are still a number of things I would like to change. I'm pretty happy with the wings, although if I find a way to keep the edge panels closed that would be great. Ramses' TIE fighters have better wing pylons where it connects, so I want to modify mine to be more similar. Cehnot made an excellent cockpit interior, so I plan on changing mine to use that. However I'm very happy with the thinner wings and functional rear cockpit. It took quite a bit of time fiddling around with plates to have a design that was strong enough throughout with the wings. Hopefully, v3 should be in full brick form.

Hi guys, I have just finished another micro landscape in time for the Battlefront Death Star DLC. I wanted to do something different from some of the other trench run mocs I have seen and so I chose the moment Han comes to Luke's rescue and shoots down one of the tie fighters. I really like the drama in this scene and Im really happy with the way it has turned out. The inspiration for Luke's Xwing and Vader's tie came from a post by 'BEAVeR' (http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=84301) however I really wanted to get R2 in this scene and so instead of a 1x2 white tile for the nose I went for a 1x1 and added a 1x1 blue stud to represent R2 behind the cockpit. Thanks goes to 'PRAITER YED' for the idea of using knifes as the wings cannons - I think they look really effective. Originally I used BEAVeR's design for Vaders Tie but it would've meant having to paint the shields black, which I wanted to avoid and also I didn't think it looked menacing enough so I simply turned the Tie fighters wings on their side. I think Vader's Tie has a real presence in this piece now and looks like the dangerous ship that it is! Finally for the Tie's cockpits I used an Arkenstone piece from The Hobbit sets, which almost looks as though it was specially designed for micro ties! I am really happy with this MOC and would love to get your opinions and as always any advice going forward for future MOCs! (Also would anyone be interested in seeing the design process? I have some pictures of various stages of the builds that people might find interesting?)

The TIE Interceptor. One of my favorite TIE Fighter variants. It was fast. It was sleek. It was deadly. And, from what I've seen, is the A-Wings rival. Here's the second of my Force Awakens Microfighter MOCs, a Special Forces TIE Fighter. 88 pieces so well within the Microfighter piece count range plus it's a sturdy, playable little model. So far, Lego have produced 2 TIE Microfighters - An Interceptor from ROTJ and the Advanced Prototype from Rebels - but no 'classic' version - why?. I reckoned it was partly to do with capturing the wing design and making it strong enough so, to cut a long story short, I spent some time mocking up the structure with real bricks then, once I had something I was confident with, took it into LDD. It was pretty clear early on that fitting the 6 struts onto the wings was not going to result in anything strong or attractive so I decided just to go for the shape instead and leave the rest to imagination / artistic licence. The key construction element is a 9M cross axle that runs through the middle and the wings and 'beams' that contain 2x2 round plates to sandwich the whole thing together. It's really sturdy, much more so than plenty of the other MFs. The mini-blaster doubles as the antenna when it's clipped in and there are 2 flick missiles underneath. That's about all, the design would easily translate to an Original Trilogy TIE fighter with a simple re-colour so maybe I'll put one of those together too. Finally, here it is with my 'Black Leader' X-Wing micro :) Thanks for taking a look, comments & questions welcome.

Hi, sorry, but I don't know where to post this. I would really like instructions or an LDD file on a Vader TIE fighter. I have the Advanced Prototype set from last year and Vader's TIE from 2009, but I'm not very good at modding and would like some guidance. Especially on the wings. An LDD file would be greatly appreciated. Also make sure it is about the same size as the Advanced Prototype and uses that windscreen.

I wanted to incorporate the new cockpit elements (here and here) from this year's 75082 - TIE Advanced Prototype with the 2012 9492 - Tie Fighter. Unfortunately, the new elements aren't in LDD yet. So, I used part 44375 - Parabola 6X6 in their place. This is what I've come up with - along with some other edits: I'm quite happy with the design - especially the rear window. Note: This model has no flick fire missiles or spring shooters. The cannons are just a pair of forward facing 1x1 round plates. Next, I think I'll render a scene with the my approximation of 75094 - Imperial Shuttle Tydirium.

30 Years after the Battle Of Jakku, Rey roams the landscape, scavenging everything she can find to get her portion for the day This is a small and simple MOC I built when I was trying to build a TIE fighter. [The Force Awakens MOC] TIE/cs "Blinder" Close-Support Superio

Haven't seen any MOCs of the new white TIEs from Star Wars 7 yet, wanted to change that. Have this. The first of Sienar's TIEs with a more efficient white-painted solar cell, the TIE/cs utilizes five long range disruptor cannons, fed by two large power sources on the top of the wing struts. The extremely high rate of fire on the high-powered disruptor cannons necessitated the use of two "static emitter arrays", or SEAs. The bright flashes of the excess electric arcs emanating from the SEAs and the heavy strobe effect of the disruptor cannons earned the TIE/cs the nickname "Blinder". Later models were given an anti-flash protective layer on the cockpit, as to not damage the pilot's eyes.
