Hello everyone! It's my first post here and my first Lego ideas attempt. I'm sorry because English is not my language. I would like to present my little sandcrawler project. I'm sorry if it's prohibited do that in this forum. No problem if some admin delete this topic, apologies then. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=561965 https://ideas.lego.com/projects/129534 I call it "the new Jawa's sandcrawler for not rich people". It hasn't been easy to do, but I'm proud of this project. It's a very complete set, with a lot of droids and Jawas, very similar to the original set (75059). The biggest difference is its size, aprox. 1/4 than the original, what makes it much cheaper and available to more people. It has 2 levels inside, with a cockpit in the front of the 2nd floor. You can pull out easily 2 parts of the roof to access inside. I'm sorry about that, but with LDD program I couldn't join the chains with the rest of the vehicle, but it's fully compatible. Another thing that is missing is a kind of cord or thread to get down and get up the front door. I think is a very good set to be considered about the people that couldn't buy the big one. Thanks.
Hi guys, I have just finished another micro landscape in time for the Battlefront Death Star DLC. I wanted to do something different from some of the other trench run mocs I have seen and so I chose the moment Han comes to Luke's rescue and shoots down one of the tie fighters. I really like the drama in this scene and Im really happy with the way it has turned out. The inspiration for Luke's Xwing and Vader's tie came from a post by 'BEAVeR' (http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=84301) however I really wanted to get R2 in this scene and so instead of a 1x2 white tile for the nose I went for a 1x1 and added a 1x1 blue stud to represent R2 behind the cockpit. Thanks goes to 'PRAITER YED' for the idea of using knifes as the wings cannons - I think they look really effective. Originally I used BEAVeR's design for Vaders Tie but it would've meant having to paint the shields black, which I wanted to avoid and also I didn't think it looked menacing enough so I simply turned the Tie fighters wings on their side. I think Vader's Tie has a real presence in this piece now and looks like the dangerous ship that it is! Finally for the Tie's cockpits I used an Arkenstone piece from The Hobbit sets, which almost looks as though it was specially designed for micro ties! I am really happy with this MOC and would love to get your opinions and as always any advice going forward for future MOCs! (Also would anyone be interested in seeing the design process? I have some pictures of various stages of the builds that people might find interesting?)
Been meaning to get round to this for a while - the famous discovery of Leia's message. As always, I've gone for more of the general feeling of the scene rather than screen-accutrate, but I'm fairly happy with it either way. I like to try an contain my MOCs to two 12x12 plates, which seems to be the perfect size here. I've taken some liberties - obviously there is no official Leia hologram, so the Emperor is standing in. Also, the speeder that can be seen off to the left is not the one seen on screen, but is a little nod to the speeder used in Episode 2, captured in lego form in the Tusken Encounter set. Critique welcomed! I don't know what the general consensus is to adding effects to photos, but I just thought this was a nice finishing touch...
