    [MOCs] Febrovery 2021

I realized I have never posted these MOCs here, its almost the 2022 edition of this event on flickr, but here are my rovers of last year: Febrovery 2021 by Ids, on Flickr Individual links of my rovers are over on flickr (I don't feel like posting 28 rovers here ) Link to the album: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmUoBGfU Almost all my rovers, except one (number 3 got upgraded to number 22). To be honest I hadn't planned to make a rover every day, especially as most of them were build on the day itself or a day before. And some days I didn't really have inspiration/ideas to build one. But I made it, 28 rovers. :P

[MOC] Pursuit on Futuron base Alpha-5

A Blacktron spy is being chased by the Space Police inside Alpha-5, a Futuron research outpost. Pursuit on Futuron base Alpha-5 by Ids, on Flickr Always difficult to make something fitting an existing theme, but I like how this part of a Futuron building turned out. And also using my favorite Space Police and Blacktron made this a fun build. Let me know what you think, comments and feedback is always appreciated.
  4. I've had the itch to build but haven't had the time/money/effort to build in actual bricks lately. Thank goodness for LDD - Keeping my creativity alive! Blacktron 3 Torgos Dropship - Holds 12 Blacktron troopers in the belly and is piloted by a crew of three. Has some cannons for added "pew pews" and should be VTOL but it's not. I hope you like it!

  6. In-universe backstory: Long ago, the world of Zonia (home-world of Classic Space) was a peaceful planet, with it's own interstellar spacefaring fleet and a moon brimming with lunar bases and habitation domes for the minifigs who lived there. They had no real major weapons development for hundreds of years, and no need for it anyway... it was a happy place with smiles everywhere you looked. This peace was not to last. Just beyond the moon orbiting Zonia, there was a rip in spacetime that formed slowly over several millennia. This strange tear was generally unnoticed by the various space fleets. However, ships did disappear occasionally in that area, and thus it became a cursed quadrant, as more ships vanished and the rip grew in all three dimensions. Eventually, it became big enough in size to be seen visibly from the moon's surface. Then, as the unease and restlessness caused by the tear in spacetime grew to near paranoia, a very large being appeared from the tear and crashed into the nearby moon, seemingly injured, if not dead, from it's trip through the nether between the universes. The planetary government of Zonia, sensing the mood of the populace, silenced all non-official communications between the moon bases and the surface of Zonia. A blockade was also effected, sealing the area off from everyone but the command and scientific arms of the Government. Immediately, the curious populace used whatever they could find to observe the creature from the planet: telescopes, binoculars, and those with good eyesight and a little know-how saw what the rulers didn't want them to - the stellar being was injured and dying, and the Zonia leaders were fighting amongst themselves on what to do about it. One side (the scientists) wanted the severely burned and blackened being merely stabilized, and moved elsewhere to study and eventually be released into outer space quadrant where it had come. The command arm, however, wanted to augment the being with advanced weaponry while clearing it's mind of everything personality-wise for use as a war drone, as it could be this being was an accidental advance warning of an incoming invasion. The commanders won out by sheer power of numbers via a electronic vote, and the work was begun begrudgingly by the science arm. The ruined lower arms were removed by the scientists while the being was incapacitated by it's journey and impact on the moon. They added a laser arm to the left side (originally designed for drilling into the core of meteor samples) and a immense gripper claw to the right... a hand design couldn't be worked out due to difficulties with copying the quite mangled original hand. This is where things went south: the command arm responsible for the decisions just described was touring the facility while the mind wipe was being done. Conscience and feeling of guilt had been removed, while most of the emotions were going out when the being awoke. (It is worth mentioning at this point that Compassion, care, and love were gone. However, rage, hatred, cunning, and the original intelligence / memories remained inside the mind when it emerged from it's long slumber) Needleless to say, it was a massacre. The being culled only those that purposely had hurt it during it's sleep: the command staff. The scientist there that day were spared death, as they had been doing no intentional harm and had wanted nothing to do with the plans it was forced to carry out. This wasn't the end, however. The moon of Zonia began to move under the telekinetic power of the being, and some of the remaining science staff were allowed to flee... about 1/2 of the entire Ministry of Science left the moon and returned to their world, while the remains of the command staff and their allies stood motionless. They were being remotely mindwiped by the towering being, becoming drones themselves as they had wished to do to the celestial stranger. The being then warned the Zonia people directly with a broadcast to every device on the planet: Do not interfere with me again, or risk becoming drones like your countrymen. It ended the broadcast by first signaling the logo of the lunar base on which it has been experimented on, albeit with a color change to black background (signifying the burned skin of the being) with three yellow triangles in a pattern now synonymous with evil. Then, that faded away with the robot's ingrained military designation from the now-dead CS commanders coming onto the screen: Blacktron-1 Then the moon disappeared into the space rift to a destination unknown, leaving the world of Zonia in peace once more. But for the galaxy at large, there would be no peace - only the rise of Blacktron! Model and notes: For this model, I used parts and ideas from the Eternals line's "In Arishem's Shadow" set 76155 (body / head / upper legs + arms) and "Hydra Stomper" set 76201 (Laser power / jet pack thing on the back of the robot) mech models from Marvel, along with claw from the old Agents 2.0' "Robot Attack" set 8970. The lower legs and laser arm are (modified) holdovers from the "Build Better Bricks" Iron Giant instructions. I think he looks quite menacing, what about you? This "war-bot" is supposed to be an opposite (yet equal in strength) foe for my Classic Space fleet, and an enemy to "fight" at any future displays and on my space layout. He is slightly shorter in stature than my Classic Space robot, but his laser arm and crusher-claw hand make up for it! I thought robots were "To Serve Man".... Any thoughts? Comments, questions, and complaints welcome! Edited 10/24/21: Added real world pictures of the model.

    Old Memories, New Dreams

I was 8 years old when I got my first Lego Classic Space set LL918. I remember I spent hours with catalogs looking at LL924 and the Galaxy Explorer LL928. When I got LL928 from my grandma I was thrilled and couldn't let go. I even took it with me on holidays. Galaxy Explorer Dropship by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr A few years later I saw the Galaxy Commander in the store. At the time, due to my father's job, I was living in an a developing country in Africa, where Legos were very rare. I was gazing at the store window, nearly paralyzed and probably with a wide open mouth. I had just past my birthday and for Christmas time I would have to wait a long time. As quickly as I could I ran back home broke that piggy bank into pieces, took everything I had and ran back to the store. I still remember the feelings I had when building this spaceship and looking at every new part as if it were yesterday. Galaxy Commander Dropship_1 by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr Now, decades later, being an AFOL I still love space topics, specially neo classic space models from other Afols. A few years ago I remember seeing Wolf Leews modernized version of LL928 (and 924 and 918) in LegoIdeas and having exactly the same feelings. I tried to push it in LegoIdeas but unfortunately it did not make it to the threshold. Wolf Leews, if you see this post, thanks for sharing the instructions. I have your models in my showcase ever since. The idea of an own classic space model did not let go of me. It took me again years of thinking how to approach this topic. My problem was I wanted everything. I wanted to have a command centre, several spaceships, some robots some cool versatile and functional vehicles, a garage where the vehicles would go for repair, a habitat, a repair bay for the robots. And I wanted the antagonists as well: Blacktrons! And I wanted everybody to build up his own space station. Uff! Galaxy Explorer Commander Dropship I knew this was impossible. Then my Lego Pueblo came to mind. It was a 4in1 set proposal at LegoIdeas that you could buy multiple times and stack to each other building up your own Pueblo village. My Lego Pueblo did not make it to the threshold but if I did such a concept once, maybe I could do it again. Many months of thinking and planning what to do, which bricks to use, color scheme, how to combine classic space with Blacktron, drawing and doing research followed. Then I started building. The target was a 3in1 space creator set with three different scenarios that you could combine forming a big space centre. Each scenario should have its own theme and its own playability concept. At the same time some models of one scenario should connect to models of other scenarios, so at the end you have one big unity. I also needed a story. As I love sci-fi and astronomy this part was the easiest one for me. What came out was space station "Antares", a 3in1 space creator set, where New Classic Space searches for Legonit ressources and Blacktrons trying to steal it from them. One alternate build is the Mining Outpost, the other one is the Bot Repair Bay and one is the Galaxy Dropship. 9 Antares Classic Space3x by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr With the Galaxy Dropship I combined the features of the Galaxy Explorer and the Galaxy Commander and built a mashup that had its own look. Like the Galaxy Commander the dropship can be split into a space fighter and the cargo bay. Like the Commander it may hold a space lab. But it also may hold a space buggy like the Galaxy Explorer. Since the space buggy is from scenario Mining Outpost, I decided it may also hold the truck from its own scenario. Then I continued. The Galaxy Dropship may hold the trailer the fuel or plasma tanks or even a small space fighter which actually is the cockpit of the robot of scenario Bot Repair Bay. The set seems to be huge, too big, but actually it is only big when the set is acquired multiple times. As a single set it has less bricks than the biggest official LegoIdeas set. I hope you like it and support it at LegoIdeas. It is another attempt to bring back some space without StarWars. 5 Antares Galaxy Dropship by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr 6 Galaxy Dropship Hangar by Giorgio Chronas, auf Flickr Guys I do not want to bore you too much. Please take a look for yourself at LegoIdeas. Check out the three different video animations (search for "Legocionado" at YouTube) and take a look at the pics of the updates at LegoIdeas (I have made some animated gifs explaining the concept). 8. I have seen some wonderful remakes of SW in Ice Planet colors, see below. Have you seen or made any MOCs in past space themes that were inspired by SW ships? Maybe even improved them? Please post them to give us inspiration. This photo was found on Reddit and I would love to make my own MOC diorama as well.
  9. Hi everyone, I don't think I have shared this with you earlier, but I've been busy with some Blacktron ships. Last year I've build the Blacktron Mobile Outpost Transporter. I have just finished my Blacktron Heavy Fighter 1. The modules from both ships can be combined. For more pictures look into my Flickr album.

    [MOC] Blacktron LASER THRUST

On Flickr a little bird (...or panda) whispered to my ear that the people on Eurobricks would really like my stuff so here I am! This is my Blacktron Razor Crest. It goes by Laser Thrust and features no original Star Wars pieces so it can be on Lego Ideas. If you like my ship, you could go to Ideas and support it, that would be nice!!! I really have shrunken the pics as far as I could but yeah, have a look at flickr.com/photos/ygreklego - there you'll find more!!

    [MOC] Podracing on the Moon!

When the Neo Classic Space Federation puts out a galaxy-wide call to take part in a podrace on the Moon, the call is answered by the Blacktron Future Generation. Although Benny's racer, 'LL-UC45' uses cutting edge tech, the Future Generations 'WhiteGilled BlackFish' has never lost a race. The stage is set for a white-knuckle showdown as these old foes race each other across the dusty plains of the Lunar surface. A month to design and build. 3,000 pieces (ish, don't know wasn't keeping count) and a lot of left over discarded bricks, my Star Wars/Classic Space mashup moc is done. [MOC] my WH40K Warlord Titan

I'm quite new to Eurobricks Community, so I'd like to start presenting my MOCs with my biggest one so far: it's a Warlord Titan from Warhammer 40000. IMG_20190407_171303-01 by Lorenzo Brovia, su Flickr FB_IMG_1565485466005 by Lorenzo Brovia, su Flickr warlord titan 2 definitivo_2 by Lorenzo Brovia, su Flickr 4966 pieces, about 56 cm tall, designed entirely with LDD (then rendered in Stud.IO) and then built in real pieces. It was a real challenge to design it, in order to make it sturdy enough to let it stand by its own (a must for me),even tough it is still poseable, can rotate the waist, the legs, the arms, the head (a little) and the shoulders cannon. I think that there is no need to describe from which LEGO theme inspired me the color scheme and Heraldry ;-)

  18. I have written many times here how much I love the classic series from the 90's called M:Tron. They stole my heart when I was a child. Togeter with Blacktron II series of course. I still haven't got my heart back to this day ;) From some time I was thinking about some crazy crossover. What if instead of space explorers they become knights? And they even get own castle? And let's add to this their eternal enemies - Blacktrons! Read more ยป Bigger photos and full story here: LEGO Gallery - [MOC] M:Tron goes castle and Blacktrons are undeads! [MOC] Another perfect day in space

A Classic Space vignette by yours truly. I had a *lot* of fun making this, for sure - it's my first ever serious display scene, and I'm quite proud of it. What do you think? Check the album for more angles and detail shots, and check my signature for a more general-purpose Classic Space collection. Thanks for looking! ^u^

    space police 2

Good Morning Eurobricks. New to the group. Heard this is the place to speak on anything space related. Glad to be here either way. Let's talk about the build. The front and back are completely done. Shoutout to the lego space book for the prisoner's bed idea, Brilliant. As for the actual brick, you guessed it; all old light gray. With the exception of a few hidden headlight bricks. M-tron panels, three of them up in the back. As well as three box fronts on the top right. The doors directly below open to reveal the armory. Not sure what set they actually came from, but they're cool. In order to keep it sp2 colors i added the solid red bars and trans green glass. The sp2 tiles were an afterthought. Never intended to place four in the build, but...Should I construct a ceiling to truly give it a finished look? Any and all comments welcomed. More dioramas to come!!!

    52035 space bikes

So, I've been building little spacebikes based on this bike fairing part for a while, and by that I mean a couple years or something. IMO the motorcycle is terrible, ridiculously huge, but the fairing's good for little spacecraft. It was even used for this set 5969 prototype. anyways, group shot The Blacktron version's the definitive one. and 100% legal legos, so I used it as a base for this instructions page There's a bunch of others in my flickr gallery if anybody's bored and curious, cheers
