    The Streets Of Skavenport

The City of Skavenport was one of the strangest cities in Nocturnus, where indeed many a strange town existed. Maybe it was even one of the most peculiar cities in all of Historica. But at the first glance a visitor could find no difference to any other bustling town. There were half timbered houses, large and small, built without any sign of logic; older houses with crooked roofs and sagged walls, newer houses attached to the others whereever a free corner could be found. Houses lined to long winding alleys. Some of the larger streets were paved, or once had been at least, but most were muddy and rough. Everywhere the reisdents were busy, hushing through the streets, children were playing, and barkers could be heared. All in all it was a loud place full of life and hustle. But this most special town was inhabited by rats. Not only rats, but rats and men together, side by side. Because this was the city of Osric Isentooth, the Rat Lord. Long ago, when the rats, were driven out of their realm far in the northern Rakath Mountains, Osric led them all through Nocturnus to the eastern shore. But the rats had been weakened and were disheartened. So Osric called for people all over Historica to follow him and join his cause. So the men of Skavenport had come. They were neither lords nor noble knights, not even brave farmers or diligent craftsmen. These men had been thieves and robbers, smugglers and all sort of sinister fellows. That kind of people decent citizen would call rats. And said:"You may live like vermin under your kind, or you live free and proud under us rats." So vagabonds turned into most respectable citizens. They became farmers and craftsmen and merchants. Thieves, who had never known other than loneliness, became the fathers of families. And the rats on the other hand adapted much of the manners of their new neighbours. Where they once had lived in caverns and dug tunnels they now inhabited tall houses and walked other broad streets. They learned to esteem precious fabric and to trade with all kinds of goods (a new and very strong domain of the rat people). They learned how to grow crops and even how to tame the sea. Some travelled far away aboard black sailed ships and returned with spices from isles as far in the south as any mariner ever dared to sail. And the rats and the men lived henceforth in union, and nothing ever would divide them. So, finally I can present you the first build of my city! Enjoy Skavenport!
  2. Hello Everyone This is a pretty broad topic but I am looking for town (mostly vehicles, and construction sets along with small buildings), and also trains (12v and 9v era). If anyone has extras of these that they do not and have them at a REASONABLE price (I mean reasonable). Please either reply to this topic or preferably pm me. I am trying to build with older sets just because they are personally better looking and I am a collector of trains. Cheers, -RailCo

    [MOC] Lion Building

My first street modular. This is a 16 wide structure built in the modular style. It has 3 floors. The front exterior is finished but it has no interior and the back is incomplete. It's still a WIP. Please go here to find other views. Thanks for looking!

    [MOC] Townhouses-Dollhouses

I had an idea to build a town diorama, but with completely furnished interiors, so you could see the life of minifigs both outdoors and indoors. So these are the first two buildings I've made. There's an apartment on the first and second floor and a grocery store on the ground floor. I had to hurry up to finish this in time for our exhibition a few weeks ago and I didn't have enough time to furnish this building so I decided they just haven't moved in yet. :) The ground floor will be done soon. The second building is actually made of two semi-detached houses. There are two ladies living in these houses and as you can see from their apartments, they are quite different from each other. Higher resolution photo of the interior can be found here: https://c2.staticfli...441722c1c_o.jpg All suggestions are welcome. My Flickr page: https://www.flickr.c...os/-galadriel-/
  5. Hi everybody, I'm thinking in purchase the 10214 Tower Bridge and turn it into a modular building MOC. It would be my first attempt to build my own MOC. I'm not interested on the set itself, but I feel that has a lot of possibilities to switch it into a nice building. My question are: has anybody attempted this? Any examples? Do you think it's a good choice to start with? Thanks in advance!

    [MOC] Lego Store

Hello fellow Lego fans! I am brand new to these forums as I am just getting back into Lego after all these years. It's a blast reading through these forums and admiring everyone's creations! I would like to share my very first MOC ever! The Lego Retail Store. It's inspired by the set given away at Lego Store grand openings, set 40145. I Bricklinked all the pieces for that set but decided to build a larger version. I hope you all like it! Please feel free to make any suggestions to make any improvements! Thanks and enjoy! MOC - Old Harbour Ferry

I've had this up on flickr for a while, but haven't posted it to EB. This is inspired by the old wooden ferry boats that used to ply Sydney's inner harbour when I was a kid. My father was a harbour ferry master for a while, so I practically had the run of the whole ferry from the wheelhouse to the mess (not the engine room unescorted) from about age 7 to 10. My favourites were the few old small wooden ferries like the Caribee and the Karingal that were still operational in the early 80s.

MOC - City Bank Town Square Branch

Well, it's been a few weeks and I have another city style building for everyone to cast their eyes on to. I saved some stickered tiles from an earlier version of a City Bank and I thought a new smaller version was called for to sit along the big box hardware store. The idea is to make a large city/town square layout. Keep watching !

    Source Pictures for PTV

Hey all! I don't build Pirate stuff often, but I am a fan of the theme. I am hoping to build something cool for my entry into the PTV contest (not quite sure yet if it's going to be Large or Small). I was hoping that some of you more regular Pirate builders would be able to direct me to some source pictures of what the architecture in Caribbean towns during the Age of sail would have looked like. Atthis point anything would be appreciated, from pictures of Spanish monestaries, and seaside castles, to pictures of villages or reenactments of the day to day life. Heck, even technical pictures of the architecture styles of the time would be great! Maybe even key phrases or place names to google! Thanks a bunch, mates! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

    [MOC] Lapidis

The town of Lapidis Lapidis by Angelo S., on Flickr Founded on the estuary of Adamas river, the town of Lapidis has stood as a last trading post of the capitol on the route to the sea. Its houses and squares carved for generations in solid rock cliffs have proved hard to conquer by the Empier's enemies for centuries thanks to narrow passages which make defense easy for the locals. In time of need, there is landlord's castle nearby on the cape which is protected by multiple gates which provides sanctuary to citizens and in case of an attack from sea, harbour chain can be raised to block the advance of the enemy ships. Other than trade, citizens heavily rely on fishing and the town's inn is famous trought the Empire for its exquisite pie and southern wine. Today, as usaul, many things are happening in Lapidis. King's guard arrived to capture the infamous smuggler, Blueberry mercenary company came to meet their employee and get a slice of that tasty pie at the inn and famed brother and sister heroes arrived to get their blades sharpened and supplies refilled! And today is one of more boring days, but truth be told, it is sill early inf the morning! Lapidis by Angelo S., on Flickr Lapidis - details 01 by Angelo S., on Flickr Lapidis - details 02 by Angelo S., on Flickr Lapidis - details 03 by Angelo S., on Flickr Lapidis - details 04 by Angelo S., on Flickr Lapidis - details 05 by Angelo S., on Flickr Lapidis - details 06 by Angelo S., on Flickr So this build measures 96x80 and is consisted of 9 sections. I do not know about the part count but it decimated my entire collection so it probably has no less than 15 000 parts (but it probably has more) It took me 4 months to build and much of that time was actually spent waiting for parts and doing work for school (because I did not have much time to build) This would be my first real diorama I made on my own and I am really proud of it! I wanted it to have a Mediterranean feel to it and not to be same as other castle creations we see on the internet I think I managed to achieve that. See the album on Flickr: https://www.flickr.c...157657547770112 And there are a couple more pictures on MOCpages, so be sure to check there too: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/418232 Hope you like it! 12. Teensietown is a modular LEGO microscale city based on the "Micropolis" standard published by TwinLUG but with some slight amendments that suit us there and then better. It is a growing thing, and most impressive when exhibited. Anyone who cares to look more closely can find an old LEGOLAND-Set, as well as a model of the televisiontower of Prague. Everything else was built from inspiration and imagination. Here you can find a lot of the buildings extracted from the whole thing as well as info on the co-builders: http://teensietown.weebly.com/ Sherv, a fellow of my local LUG, has ignited the whole idea, I am responsible especially for the waterway management, and more recently railroads and highway. The easy thing with the project is for me, that one can build with the parts that one has and doesn't have to buy too much bricks to make it look good. Thanks to the modular system, the city looks different everytime it gets exposed. Some more pics can be found now and then at our LUG's forum (german) here: http://forum.lgoe.at...hp?topic=3563.0 Hope ya like it!
  13. Having recently taken inspiration from SearchFunction's 'Living Small' builds, I have finally gotten around to finishing this MOC. It has been rebuilt a few times, reducing the size to try and get the scale right. I would be more happy with more detail on the interior but I am signing this off as finished, so I can move on to my next project. I present to you a Bungalow with Dormer. Currently resided in by Dave the Flower Cart seller. This building comprises of an enterance hall with stairs to the first floor. On the gorund floor, a spacious and well equipt kitchen leads you to the light and very large 'lounge diner', complete with french doors to the garden, bay window to the front, fireplace and an inviting bay window seat. Upstairs we have the large master suite, which has its own sizeable ensuite bathroom. It took me ages to get the roof to sit correctly. It is largely based on SearchFunctions plate design, however i have added some 2x2 tiles to try and get that slate roof effect. I did have skylights in one version of the second floor but it didnt give me much room to work with so I went with the dormers instead. Planning out the top floor was very tricky due to where the stairs came up and not eating into the bedroom too much with unnessecary walls and corridors. With regards to the large amount of Tan... this is what happens when you buy the Tower Bridge as your first set for building mocs with. Hey ho, it doesnt look too bad, Struggled with detailing the exterior, hopefully the next one will be better right? There are more pictures on my Flickr account. C&C always welcome and thats again to SearchFunction for the inspiration. 14. Hi everyone! I'm new here on EB, and this is my first actual post for the town theme. A bit about myself: I make all kinds of cars in Minifig Scale, or better said: Minifig proportion. I try my best to make them as realistic, firm and buildable as possible - and fit at least 2 Minifigs side by side. Not an easy task most of the time - especially when my maximum width is 7 wide for large all terrain vehicles/ sportcars and 6 wide for standard and oldtimer cars. I bet some can relate I dont own any lego bricks, so i build LDD only. But im planing to order bricks soon from bricklink... Lets get started When i started off building cars in LDD, i had a hard time working out that height issue. The cars where always too high when i wanted to fit the figs in sitting upward, i even bended back a bit, but didnt really help either. As its well known, the issue for that is the minifig itself due to wide and short proportions (infant like). We will never get this right... BUT in my opinion, its also the modern way of building cars in general - which does "wierden" this whole car thing even more. Being a 90ies kid, i remember most of the car/town sets back then and when i compared to the car/town sets today, i noticed a major difference: wheel sizes! Nowadays, the lego company uses the same type of big wheels + fenders on almost all types of vehicles, be it a police car or a truck. So i went back "to the roots", used the smaller tires (from the mirco racers) for my cars, i layed the minifigs down as much as possible to get the car height right - and this came out! enjoy, tell me what you think my final result of an Lamborghini Aventador lp900 (currently being worked on in LDD to make a few things easier) This one has functional doors, a bendable roof and fits 2 minifigs side by side. its 7 wide in total (no fenders) Lego Lamborghini Aventador lp900 by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr my first design of an ultra sleek supercar, this time a 7 wide diablo (more simple design, easy brick usage, the windscreen is made of black hinge pieces) Lamborghini Diablo yellow front by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr NS LamDia top view render yellow by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr Lamborghini Diablo back view by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr NS Lamborghini diablo purple by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr the way it opens is by bending the roof back (hinge pieces at the back rear) NS Lamborghini diablo opended by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr the classic side view as found on the net: http://www.google.de...wIVwrcUCh2gRwrd Lamborghini Diablo black by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr now messing around with different lego themes: Paradiso Lambo by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr NS Lamborghini diablo police scene by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr classic space special forces diablo by Ron Dayes, auf Flickr hope you enjoyed, keep on brickin;) many greets, ron.

MOC - Big Box Hardware Store

It's been a few weeks since my last design up here on EB, and yes, it's another hardware store.....but this one is a tad different. More city like, but using creator style building in it as well. There are self service checkouts, returns/special orders counter, digging tool rack, cutting tool rack, floor tile rack and finally plumbing rack. This is designed to fit in with the likes of city square and town square sets......oh, and there is more coming. Keep watching ! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/112771
  17. Hello everyone! As promised, there are some pictures of my new version of my winter village (taken during the fair in Lecco 1 to 2 August 2015). An adventure born three years ago and still carry on with passion by adding new modules, buildings, scenes and details. Take pictures around the complete diorama begins to be complicated having arrived to 2.5 meters wide and 1 meter deep! I hope to be complete this long project by next year and exceeding 50,000 pieces and more than 200 minifigs. I invite you to visit the Flickr gallery to observe all the details of each module. Thanks for coming! Comments are welcome Sandro Complete Diorama: Winter Village part 1: Winter Village part 2: Winter Village part 3: Another view of diorama: A funny scene: The complete Gallery:
  18. Hi and welcome to all of you. I'd like to introduce myself here at the eurobricks forum. I'm quite new here and so i started building modulars wit LDD only a short time ago. Here is my first attempt of designing a modular supermarket. Only first steps are done, but I'll post more images step by step. I'd like you to comment on what you are seeing and maybe you have some good hints for a noob like me. The cash desk and the trash container in the backyard are the only two details I have finished yet.
  19. This is my brother's MOD / MOC of the 1993 LEGO set number 6398 (Central Precinct HQ) I took the pictures, he made the building, and we collaborated on the text. Once again, this is NOT my moc, and you can see it at his MOCpage here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/417074 This building is one heavily modified set. It features a new printed 1x1 sign, along with new computer terminals and a modern swing open design for the back stairwell. Here is close up of the main sign of the precinct. This part of the model lacks a back half because it would make it harder to access the opening jail cell (which you can escape from by way of a loose wall), break room, and equipment storage locker. The top floor is an unused office room. This portion of the station features the 911 call center (top floor), digital record storage room and detective office. (second floor) The main reception area is on the ground floor. The swing-open back stairs makes it easier for fig to access their desks, and for play value because if you can't reach the figures, what's the point? The stairs only open 90 degrees, and lock shut on a Technic pin. The police station features a heli port for the copter that provides an eye in the sky during high speed car chases or foot pursuits. Here we see some of the cars of the precinct. These police interceptor's are used in everything from street patrol duty to high speed chases. (when used with the helicopter, of course.) The stations front side features two balconies overlooking the street, with one having a walkway to the helipad, and the other being just a rest area when you are on coffee break. This is is my brother new favorite picture. Please leave comments, complaints, and questions below. I will forward them to my brother. Thanks for stoping by!
  20. Ever wonder where the minifigs are buying all those coffee mugs? My newest modular is a kitchen store: The first floor is the kitchen store.... Cooking classes are offered upstairs... Here it is next to the Fire Brigade and my candy store moc: Thanks for looking!
  21. An amazing classic Lego collection from 1979 to the early 90's, complete sets in their original boxes with instructions. Album with descriptions here: http://imgur.com/a/zO6qm Purchased all at once (by me) from a single collector, this is by far the best example of classic Lego history I've ever seen in one place. I've photographed and researched the entire collection. If you notice any errors or know of additional information, I'd appreciate you telling me and will update the album accordingly. Enjoy!

    MOC - HOME Hardware Store

Well, it's been a little while since I have come up with a fresh MOC and this one is totally out of my norm.......NO STICKERS ! Everything is brick built including the sign, it has a plumbing department to the left and to the right digging tools. Soon a dump bin type of display will have paint rollers on sale in it. It's also different for me not to do something Aussie or to tile the interior floor. The name is just a common one used around the world for hardware stores, the brick built sign is basically two h's back to back. Keep watching for more is to come.

    WIP - Old Town Center

UPDATE FEBRUARY 3rd Second version of my Dairy Shop! I made it more sturdy, and converted it into a modular. The roof was changed and a cellar at water level was added. The dairy and cheese shop is run by Cam and Bert (... get it? Cam and Bert? Camembert?), who also live above their shop... seeing as nobody else wanted to live above that, erm, "aromatic" place. The shop has a large cellar where cheese is made. A waterwheel powers the butter-churn. Outside the shop a lot of wares are displayed; a variety of cheese, milk, cream, eggs etc. The home upstairs has a living/kitchen, toilet, and a bedroom with ensuite in the attic. I wanted the building to be a little brother to my green grocer, using dark colors instead of the lighter shades I used in my green grocer. I used mostly dark blue, shades of brown and gray. The ground floor consist of the shop, with an office in the addition at the back. There’s a gate to the side for the delivery of supplies. On the right side is the entrance to the home above. The stoop to the front door is littered with potted plants and flowers. Below the shop is a basement where the fish is prepared, gutted, smoked and stored. The wharf assures a constant stream of fresh fish, sold by local fishermen to the fishmonger. Above the shop is a little home, with 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bath and a livingroom with open kitchen. Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr It sells tobacco products, newspapers and magazines and some office supplies. And there's a gumballmachine outside. Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr Tobacco Shop by Ben van Middendorp, on Flickr --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another part of my Old Town Center is done! It's a Green Grocer, situated next to the water (river) and bridge. Its architecture is based on old Dutch, German and Flemish buildings, with a big dose of my favorite artist; Anton Pieck. The building has a cellar (stock room), a shop on the ground floor, and an apartment. There's also a little extension at the back. There's a pump outside, between the front door of the apartment and the bridge. The shop displays a variety of food stuffs outside. The ugly black mess around the base hides some even uglier scaffolding. None of this will be visible as I build more around this part of the Town Center. Miss Clementine greets her customers buying her fresh produce. Outside she has apples, pineapples, strawberries, bananas, cherries, pumpkins, chilies, juice and more on display. There's garlic hanging next to the door, doubling as a vampire repellant ^_^ Mr. Jonah Gold brings a fresh batch of bright red apples, straight from his farm! Artie Choke, the stock clerk, comes out to help him unload. Around back is the old little wharf, where produce can be brought by boat, straight into the cellar. Hope you all enjoyed! Thanks! ^_^
  24. I was a child of the 70s, when toys were simple, creative and fund, and that's what I'm passing along to my little tater tots who are 4 year old b/g twins. They are so excited to grow their Lego world, but not as excited as mommy :) I am obsessed with minifigs, a handful which I am still trying to procure at a reasonable price - but I know serier 14 will come out and I'll want all of those :) I have build a Lego City for my kids and tend to it every morning and evening to "tidy up" - it's a labor of love! Excited to be here, and look forward to learning some tips and tricks, and meeting some friendly, and fellow obsessed, fans. Good evening from California, -deniz
