    Winter Village: Filling Station

Welcome to the Winter Village Filling Station, where you can fill your gas tank and fill your belly at the same time! This creation features the main building, a pair of vintage-style gas pumps, and a retro gas truck. Here's the main building, with tire rack and vintage road sign. It's been decorated quite nicely for the winter holiday. Inside, you can stock up on supplies and chat with the friendly staff. The pumps are shielded by a canopy. And here's the truck, which I had the most fun designing to give it a mid-century diesel look. More images available on Flickr. Thanks for looking! Comments and suggestions welcome!
  4. Presenting my Coffee Pot Steam Motor Coach NJAB 1. It is a unique Australian steam engine and passenger coach combined into one. The 2-2-0 steam engine was made in Leeds, England and the coach was built in Birmingham. There were only 2 built. Unit #1 entered service in 1906. For my LEGO version, I selected the dark green one that was displayed in Alice Springs during the 1960s to '80s. It just so happens I have some dark green 1x1 PAB bricks sitting around for ages. Coffee Pot Steam Motor Coach by dr_spock_888, on Flickr I believe this is my first steam MOC. My building technique was look at the picture and mashed it into a LEGO standard 6 wide style with parts on hand. It has Power Functions train motor, AAA battery box and IR receiver. The receiver is easily accessible behind the cab to change channels which is useful for running at our LUG events. With all the coffee the passengers and crew are drinking on my Coffee Pot, my rail outhouse should be included in the train consist.
  5. I submitted a design (Parts list + custom instructions) to moc.bricklink.com and recently discovered that a user on Ebay is apparently selling the bricks to make the design and then e-mailing the buyer instructions (The listing also uses photos originally from the moc.bricklink.com page). After contacting Ebay's Verified Right's Owner Program (VeRO) with a Notice of Claimed Infringement (NoCI) form, the representitive said that the case as described didn't sound like intellectual property infringement so the listing wasn't taken down. If the seller actually is distributing the instructions I made without permission, then that is against the Digitally Delivered Goods policy for Ebay sellers (http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/downloadable.html), yet that's not for certain and it would be difficult to prove without buying a copy (and because the listing is private previous buyers of the item cannot be contacted to find out the specifics of what's going on). For reference here is the link to the moc.bricklink.com page http://moc.bricklink.com/pages/moc/mocitem.page?idmocitem=3997 and the link to the Ebay page where the design is apparently being sold http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Custom-San-Francisco-Cable-Car-Minifigure-Scale-Train-Car-Passenger-MOC-/201745851286?hash=item2ef8fd6396:g:NO8AAOSwnHZYTFC3 So, what if anything can be done now?
  6. Ahoy, and happy new year 617! Contrary to me, the workers at the Royal Shipyards weren't completely useless over the holidays, but instead managed to build some ships. So without further ado: 'Centurion', 'Audacieuse' and 'Vigilante' The recent increase in pirate activity had caused some concern among the Duke of Corban's staff. But in response only some minor details were changed, some convoy routes were adapted, and the escorts' captains received orders to intensify their gunners' drill - but no additional matters were taken. However, these concerns turned into vigorous fury after the latest coup of infamous pirate Captain Morgan, who managed to overpower a whole convoy - and even capture two Oleander warships! It became clear that a response to this blatant and unprecedented aggression needed to be formulated. The first thing to do was obvious - more ships needed to be send over to Breshaun to be attached to the New Terra Fleet. Two of these can be seen here en route: Centurion - a brig of war carrying 20 8-pounders, and Audacieuse - a fast corvette armed with 20 12-pounders. Centurion - 20 Gun Brig of War 78x21 studs at the waterline, 4500+ pieces Audacieuse - 20 Gun Corvette 85x23 studs at the waterline, 4900+ pieces Vigilante - 38 Gun Frigate 101x23 studs at the waterline, 7000+ pieces About: Well... this was a lot of work. But I think it was well worth it, as all three turned out to be better looking than I expected they would when I started. In fact, the Vigilante should have gone to Oleon... but I decided to keep her for myself All ships might look similar - and yes, they are all based on the same basic principle. But each ship still had to be built up from scratch, and fiddled about with the details. The only thing I could copy to a relieving extend were the masts and sails - but sadly not the rigging So, this should cope with some of the increasing pirate activity - but to add to this: of course, if you don't tread on Oleon, you'll have nothing to fear Thanks for watching, C&C as always welcome Vive le Roi!
  7. Hi guys and happy new year! I wanted to start my posts this year with not one but two micro landscape builds inspired by Jedha. The first is a reconstruction of the Assault on Jedha complete with Hovertank and At-St. The At-St model is an old build but the hover tank is a new design I am really pleased with. IMG_20161221_184332 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr IMG_20161221_213237 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr0 This model is a recreation of a particular shot from the Rogue One trailer, still built on my usual 16x16 base. IMG_20161222_084737 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr My second micro build was inspired by another shot from the trailer and shows a Star Destroyer hovering over Jedha. It's a really simple build and I was only messing about with some tan slopes and came up with this design. The Star Destroyer is the model from the 2015 advent calendar. IMG_20161216_094055 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr IMG_20161216_130700 by dimitrinicomanis, on Flickr Hope you enjoy and please share any feedback. Thanks
  8. Hello to everyone. This is my first post in eurobricks, and I want to share the modification of the UCS 10175 Vader`s tie advanced. I have been collecting the and bricklinking UCS sets in the last three years, but this set was really disapointing for me. When I assembled the sandcrawler I was amazed by the planning and analysis of the model. However on the Vader`s tie advanced there were some details that were not taken care of. For example: 1. The cockpit is a huge problem. First of all the Light Bluish Gray Dish 6 x 6 Inverted (Radar) with SW TIE Advanced Hatch Pattern is a unique part that makes it very expensive. On set 75082 there is a similar 6 x 6 one an looks really great. tie front by pablo gutierrez 2. Trans-Clear Windscreen 10 x 10 x 4 Canopy Octagonal with TIE Advanced Pattern is the same as set 75082 and ithe octogonal cockpit has nothing to do with the circular pattern of the cockpit like set 8017 3. On the back you just see a plain gray pattern with no details. Some light bluish gray and dark bluish gray parts to simulate a flat surface. The TIE Advanced x1 featured a Sienar Fleet Systems I-s3a solar ionization reactor and paired P-s5.6 twin ion engines like the original TIE Fighter and is supposed to have extra power. So I expected more details on the engine and there are details on the sides where should exist a space next to the wings and another one smaller in the back (look at the model). tie back by pablo gutierrez model tie advanced by pablo gutierrez 4. The back of the ship is another example of lack of details. There are just two Light Bluish Gray Flag 2 x 2 Square pieces. 5. The seat of the cockpit looses when you put the ship on the pedestal. COCKPIT by pablo gutierrez Here are some modifications of the set. 1. Modified it form the similar 6 x 6 one of set 75082 that looks really great for me. Is an inexpensive solution, keeping the tie pattern and also allows to see inside the cockpit. TIE ADVANCED MOC ENGINE DETAIL by pablo gutierrez, en Flickr 2. I replaced the U$160 octogonal cockpit by adapting the 75082 frontal part of the ship. It looks similar to the original model and respects the tie fighter aesthetic. TIE ADVANCED MOC FRONT by pablo gutierrez 3. I created a thicker back. I used Light Bluish Gray Brick, Round Corner 10 x 10 with Slope 33 Edge, Axle Hole, Facet Cutout of set 8017 fitting perfectly on the sides. TIE ADVANCED MOC BACK by pablo gutierrez 4. I created the spaces on the side with access to the lateral part of the engine. 5. In the middle part of the engine I included more details on hoses and some color to the set, it`s too gray. TIE ADVANCED MOC ENGINE DETAIL by pablo gutierrez 6. The back of the ship was modified with a pattern similar to the model and with a pattern that represent the exhaust of the engine of a interstellar spaceship. TIE ADVANCED MOC BACK by pablo gutierrez TIE ADVANCED MOC BACK by pablo gutierrez 7: Included the patterns included in set 8017 on the motor and wings TIE ADVANCED MOC PATTERNS by pablo gutierrez Hope you like it! [MOC] Scarif Battle

Hi guys, to celebrate Rogue One hitting the screens in the UK I have gone back to my favourite style of building and created this Scarif micro landscape. [MOC] Dragon from Shrek

Back in 2013 there was Shrek musical. They were advertising it at LEGO World in Copenhagen, and wanted some LEGO models of small dragons. I was asked to make some miniature pink dragons and built these: I think they liked them, but they wanted something... larger. "Lasse. Can you build the dragon from Shrek?" "Sure can do!" She was unfortunately killed while cleaning up after the exhibition, so these pictures are all that is left. The younglings didn't survive either ;( Here is the brickshelf folder with more pictures: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=523126

  14. After years of turmoil between his parents, young Ben Solo has reached a turning point in his life. The strain of training to be a Jedi under his Uncle Luke's wing has been unbearable. The legacy of having the blood of royalty, evil and greatness tears at him. After a rigorous day of training with his Uncle and the other students, Ben Solo leaves the temple grounds on a worker transport platform. Passing the lush jungle and natural landscapes of Yavin 4, Ben felt a cold chill up his spine. A mysterious haze of curiosity and calmness overcame him to find the source of his experience. Looking below the short cliff, he found a waterfall that seemed to be calling to him. Banking hard and fast toward the waterfall, Ben felt a heightened state of anxiety, anger, and fear. Drawing his custom lightsaber while approaching the waterfall Ben Solo stood in cautious while peering into an apparition of his own likeness. Masked by the mist of the waterfall, a robotic voice called to Ben from beyond its own darkness. I have not participated in any of these contests before so I hope I'm doing this right. This small MOC sits on a 32x32 baseplate. When I first read about this contest, this image popped in my head and I thought it would be interesting to visualize. Creating the rockfaces on boths sides is a technique I do not normally employ, but decided to challenge myself and try for this. This was built very much with a perspective and point of view in mind. One look from another angle the internal workings and behind the scenes become visible. Here is the picture unedited. The picture above had minimal editing of some sharpness, color and brightness correction based on the angle of the lighting and camera positioning. Here is a zoomed out shot of the entire MOC. I don't know if this is frowned upon or not, but here are the behind the scenes Pictures Top Down shot showing the wiring for the lighting running from the waterfall to the platform. [ Shot of the open back panel to control lighting and revealing our apparition from behind the waterfall. I achieved the silhouette of the Vader Force ghost by shining a bright white LED straight at the background white board which in turn caused a soft white reflection of light on Vader creating his shadow on the waterfall. That took countless attempts to get it to look halfway decent. I contemplated removing pieces of the waterfall to expose him but ultimately decided against it. So I hope you enjoyed. Like I said this is my first time doing this so input on what is expected and what is wrong is appreciated. I hurried to get this done as I will be traveling for a portion of the month starting next week. I look forward to participating in more of these. My Flickr https://www.flickr.c...0925@N08/qx9iR1

    Train Wheels Make It Better

Season's Greetings. I started a little project at the beginning of December to see if train wheels make it better like the way bacon makes things better. It's a daily photo project of my MOCs and MODs spiced up with train wheels. I made it past one week milestone so I think the track is cleared to post up the first week's work. I plan to keep chugging along until Christmas assuming I don't run out of steam. Give me your MOC ideas

Hey Guys! I'm super delighted! A college of mine told me that he used to have a Lego train when he was a kid and he'd see what he could find. Turns out, he used to have an original Metro Liner - including a double deck carriage. Unfortunately, all that's left of the train are the bogies, the 9V motor and the base plates of the train. He sold them to me for 10€. Quite a bargain if you ask me. I'm going to convert my Santa Fe Engine into a 9V train (it was not powered at all before). I'm left with this: http://i.imgur.com/v6UwRij.jpg A completely stripped out Metro Liner base. Nothing more, nothing less. I really wished he still had the complete parts but oh well, can't have everything I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Now I'm looking for ideas to create a new train. I'm planning on making this one a power functions train. I currently have a Santa Fe Engine (conversion to 9V coming up) with one Santa Fe carriage, the complete blue cargo train (set 60052, I believe, with PF) and the blue Railway Express (also a 9V train). I've never really liked the look of the Railway Express' Engine. So stubby and weird. The majority of my trains have a north-american look, so I feel like going the same direction with this MOC train. So if you got an idea of something cool that would go along with my other trains, I'd be glad if you posted some pictures. This is going to be my first MOC train. Super excited for the opportunity.
  18. UPDATE : Here is a picture and the ldd file of the latest version. Cehnot also uploaded some upgrades, check out the following pages! http://bricksafe.com/files/Gray_Mouser/GM_T65_v1.1.lxf Flickr album: https://flic.kr/s/aHskH13nM3 -------------------- Hi, A few months ago, Inthert set forth a MOC of the T-65 xwing. A fantastic MOC. Not only that, but he also took the time to publish instructions as well. It so happened I was looking for an x-wing MOC at the time, so that I could use it as a gift for my girlfriend. But even though there were instructions, there was no brick list, and some pictures were not quite clear. So I downloaded LDD and built a numerical version of Inthert's MOC. You can find more about Inthert's design here: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=138324 Upon completion, I realized I was proficient enough with LDD to try to improve some parts of Inthert's design that didn't seem as good as the rest of the MOC. Don't get me wrong, Inthert's MOC looks very, very good and fitted very well with what I remembered from the T-65 x-wing. But when compared to visuals from the movies, there were definitely differences. Subtle ones, to be sure, but differences nonetheless. I started with very minor modifications (the canopy and the slopes on the wings). And things kinda got out of control from here. Since then I've spend a lot of time modding Inthert's MOC with the intent of making it as close to the real thing as possible. So the original MOC underwent very heavy modifications. I feel I modified most of the ship, and if you cannot tell at first glance that's good, it means I didn't screw everything up. So here is the result of my efforts. I don't know if you will notice what I modified, but I'll make a list of what I did if anyone is interested. Please let me know what you like, what you dislike, what looks better and what looks worse. Maybe I'll tweak this mod a bit further. Transformers: Generation Brick

So I have been building Lego Transformers since I was about twelve and first read some Transformers fiction (thank you, wonderful Ladybird books!). I'd say I've come a long, long way since first building gun-form Megatron. I've got dozens of the things clogging up my shelves at the moment, some of which I've had built up for a couple of years now. Unfortunately, I've not go around to photographing many of them, mainly due to the need to get consistent shots of both robot and vehicular forms. Hopefully over the coming weeks, this will change. They are a wild mix of types now but I started off building Micromasters with the intention that they all be roughly in scale with minifigures. First up, though about fourth built, is Roadhandler. I am immensely pleased with him because, despite the slightly gappy car mode, he was the first time I actually managed to construct a car-from Transformer that was anywhere near minifig scale. Universal feather-weight champion! by Librarian-Bot, on Flickr The next one (built far more recently) is a character roughly of my own invention (though he steals a name from an existing Autobot) who was based on . . . well, I'll let you guess that. Those mean machines . . . by Librarian-Bot, on Flickr The faction stickers are by Reprolabels. Enjoy! And do check back again later - I have many more to show off.

  22. Hello all Train MOC-ers, I'm planning to run a train-building contest in 2017. I was thinking of such a competition for one year by now, the last one I saw here was somewhere back in 2009 or something among that line. According to some of my interests in LEGO Trains, it would be a contest with quite strict rules you can read below: -MOC train should be a proportional model of a real locomotive, passenger car, freight wagon or motor unit -(I also plan to add that only a model of a real train produced in the last 15 years can be entered, as I'm interested in Epoch VI trains, but I can drop this one) -Body width should be at least 7 studs wide -Only new creation can be entered, trains already designed, train already designed but with different color scheme, train designed in LDD and published before are not allowed. On the other hand I need at least three master train builders, who could evaluate the entered creations taking into account: -Proportions and design - how close is the model to the real thing -technical solutions (interesting part usage, techniques presented) -Running (a video should be uploaded where the train runs on different geometries built from standard track pieces) If you are interested, please send me an e-mail [ ashivalkoinen at gmail . com ] with some photos of your works (references), and with the following data: -full name and best-known nickname -nationality Prices I'm living in Eastern Europe, with salaries you may estimate for an Eastern Europe country, but as a pledge I will put one set of Horizon Express and a bunch of track (either sets or in bulk). Since the contest is NOT ongoing, I gladly accept any ideas related to the contest.

    [MOC] The Resting Tower

“Weary from the long journey, our heroes find the toppled great tower looming before them. An unspoken question haunted them: had the daughter of the Duchess been in her quarters? Should she no longer breathe, the mission would be for nought. Once a floor hatch, now a door. Once a door, now a floor. Her room was on the 4th level. They entered the 9th.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My initial attempt at bringing the resting tower to life ended in ruins. I made it too large, and I began running low on the necessary parts. About a month ago I made the decision to tear it all apart and start afresh. It was a hard decision after all the hours spent on construction, but it was worth it! I had just received a much needed bricklink order, so the timing was good. The smaller size was much easier to manage, and I had enough parts to spare for the large chunk of wall the tower fell through. I would have loved to spend more time on it, but I knew I could go on endlessly, so I made the call after about two months of part time building. The big challenge on the second go at building this MOC was fusing the odd sections together so it wouldn't fall apart every time I touched it.
