  1. Hello everyone! Here is my "last-minute" creation for the Expand the Winter Village VI contest. It's a 2 in 1 building. The main building is an antique store, but it's a little bit big if we compare it with other Winter Village LEGO sets, isn't it? That's why we can open it up and get two smaller, but more interesting buildings: an antique store and an old house. Hope you like my entry for the contest, please leave your opinion here, I can't wait to read it. Please fly to my Flickr album for more, detailed photos: Winter Village: Antique store and an old house Happy holidays, and happy new year for everyone!

    Christmas diorama

Hi everyone, I'd like to share with you my Christmas decoration for this year. Although it's far from being as professional as many of yours, it brought me a lot of fun and relaxing moments, I hope you'll like it, too. Happy Holidays! image by Aakos Tolv, on Flickr Here you can find more photos: https://www.flickr.c...th/23963088201/

What were you treated too for Christmas?

I was trying to look for this topic but was unable to find it anywhere, however if it already exists feel free to let me know so i can close it down. My question to you all is what were you treated too for Christmas? I always enjoy hearing peoples Christmas stories and the Lego they received and/or built. I should probably kick this off by saying that I bought myself 2 modulars whilst my partner bought me Jabba's palace and the three smallest Force Awakens Star Wars sets. It was a great day! So what are your stories for this year?

  6. Hey Guys, hope everyone is in a christmas-y Mood. Good ol Santa will come tomorrow and of course he will be pleased to see AFOL`s celebrating Christmas the Lego Way. Now have a look at this neat little Box.It is a wrapped Present, but what`s this?I didn`t use Wrapping Paper which will be used once and then dumped into the Bin... Say Hi to the Crazy Present: The Construction is really tough and sturdy. Each Brick is connected with several Bricks above and below but the Box still has a 4x4 Studs and a 4 Bricks tall Room inside it to hide a little Present. Of course i will ad a Brickseparator,i mean i`m not crazy :D So,anything fancy you want to share?

    Our 2015 Winter Village setup

Spent some time with the kids (9yr b/g twins) building our first annual Winter Village display. Sample pictures below and full set of pictures on my Flickr account. Setup consists of a village diorama on a table, plus a kidney-shaped train track around the Christmas tree and a "North Pole" area. My local LEGO store's PaB-wall is now out of white plates :)

    The Obligatory Winter Creation

Hello, It's that time of the year again when the snowflakes fall and everyone is looking forward to christmas. Maybe somewhere else, but in Germany we had 16,5°C / 61,7°F today. Feels like summer. To compensate for the Christmas stress and the inappropriate weather I built this "dream winter scene". If you like it, you can find more pictures here. Jonas

[O - I06] If Only In My Dreams

Location: Yetornius - I06 Tags: Christmas Finally... the beacon... 100 miles north of the Jacques LaRose Training Facility on the south pole of Yetornius, pilot John Hannibal reaches the final marker of the Octan explorer training course. As he activates the beacon to coordinate his pick up, alone, Hannibal has time to think about the past two months of rehabilitation, training, and the loss of his command. It wouldn't be long before he was again demoted and his ability to find answers to the assassination attempt would be lost. And, he knew he couldn't bring his family to Andromeda without first knowing that the would be safe. Hannibal knew just the man to put on the job... as long as he could take some time away from the important work he was doing for CEO Pombe... Damn, it's quite out here. Tomorrow will be 60 days since the attack... Christmas day... and here I am where the love light gleams... I'll be home for Christmas, darling...

    Western Christmas Village

For the last three years, I have constructed a yearly Christmas village that has made use of Lego's Winter Village sets. This year I added the new Toy Shop but decided to go back in time and create a Western Christmas Village. Thank you for any comments and advice. Have a Merry Christmas everyone. 15. Long time reader, first time poster. So back in 2002 I picked up 4535 LEGO Express Deluxe to run around our Christmas tree. It features a 10205 My Own Train engine and tender with 9V motor and light package. I typically only run it around the holidays (after cleaning all the track, etc), but over the past few years I've been having issues with the motor. This year I'm noticing that it just runs for awhile... and then stops, almost as if its overheating or something. If I wait a while (5-10 minutes), the motor seems to work once again. My gut is that the motor is giving out on me finally, but wanted to confirm with those in the know. That said, if my 9V motor is failing, I'm looking at affordable next steps -- and also trying to keep a 4-year-old boy pretty happy. Do I suck up secondary market prices and buy another 9V motor or do I make the jump to Power Functions? If the latter, then I don't know really where to start regarding what I'd need to purchase from BrickLink, etc. Any help or advice would be appreciated (Also, if anyone has successfully converted this engine/tender combo to PF, I'm all ears). Thanks in advance! - Steve

    Portal 2 Advent Calendar

My entry in the Brickset Design an Alternative Advent Calendar Contest Portal 2 Advent Calender by E Apodaca, on Flickr Aperture Science Christmas Tree, Chell, Companion Cube, Randolph the Red-Nosed Turret , Santa Core, Cake Portal 2 Advent Calender by E Apodaca, on Flickr I started with a Chell, then the Tree and Cube. Relatively easy. Portal 2 Advent Calander by E Apodaca, on Flickr The Cake was simple too. However, it took some ingenuity to make the hat for the Santa Core, as well as to make the Turret. I really like the design, and will use it (in white) for future Portal MOCs Portal 2 Advent Calender by E Apodaca, on Flickr I hope you enjoy, and as always, comments are welcome!
  18. (I'm not a native speaker, so please do not care that much about my mistakes) Today I like to presnt you my first Lego modell I ever made for a forum. It is the Winter Water-Mill, which fits perfectly to the Winter Village Sets of the last years. This set contains a mill, a sledge, a doctor and a street painter. Here it is: Here you can see the inside of the mill, there is a table with food, a moveable millstone and a music corner. And here are the small pieces; the sledge the painter and the doctor. The pictures are somehow very small but I'm going to upload a .zip file to see them better.
  19. For the past nine years the Hudson’s Bay Company flagship store in Toronto has displayed a beloved series of windows that depict Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves getting ready for Christmas, and other Christmas scenes. My winter village entry is a rendition of two of the five HBC windows. The first scene has elves feeding the reindeer and preparing Santa’s sleigh outside of the Toy Shoppe at the North Pole. The second scene is inside the building where the elves are busy making the toys as Santa goes over his list from the many letters he has received from children everywhere. I have tried to include most of the elements but have altered some of the design. The clock is the central feature of the piece and the elves are busily at work, while Mrs. Claus is helping out by bringing treats. Santa is checking his “Naughty” and “Nice” list after reading the letters sent to him by children around the world. Lego HBC Santa's Toy Shoppe3 by Karen Metz, on Flickr HBC poems that are in front of their windows (I have included one with the display): "With Christmas approaching young children are hoping that their presents will reach them according to plan, all wonderfully donated by a wonderful man. So Santa’s little helpers make sure is all right so that nothing will go wrong on that faithful night. They work with much diligence and a great deal of pride thus ensuring that Santa will have a smooth ride." Lego HBC Santa's Toy Shoppe2 by Karen Metz, on Flickr “The clock is ticking and the hours are dwindling The toyshop is bustling as the elves are preparing The list is revised and a plan is devised There’s no time to pause for old Santa Claus” Lego HBC Santa's Toy Shoppe5 by Karen Metz, on Flickr Lego HBC Santa's Toy Shoppe4 by Karen Metz, on Flickr Lego HBC Santa's Toy Shoppe8 by Karen Metz, on Flickr If you check out my Flickr page I have photos of the actual HBC Christmas windows. I have also created a second story that can be added to my MOC that depicts the last of the five HBC windows with the elves and Santa relaxing to a fabulous meal after all the the presents have been delivered around the world. I have posted pictures of this floor/window as well on Flickr if anyone wants to check it out. It is not quite finished (need to change some parts). I haven’t included this level for the contest since I would have greatly exceeded the size limit. Happy Christmas to all! P.S. The Hudson’s Bay Company is the oldest company in North America (founded in 1670) and is known for its iconic white wool point blankets with green, yellow, red and blue stripes.

    Christmas Train

Hi everyone Christmas Train22 by Cristiano Grassi, su Flickr This is my version of the Christmas Train and i think it will be perfect in any Winter Village projects and dioramas. It is based on the Constitution train set locomotive. When I project this train I think about Holydays and to what I wanted to find under my Christmas tree when I was a child. I hope you like and comment it. If you want you can also support this project on Lego Ideas following the Link. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/95546 Thanks to all.
