    MOC - Atlantis Prowler Jr.

After quite some time hiding in the closet a small 6268 - "renegade runner" ship was found, along with a couple of days to spend ! Later on I found out unused bricks from Lego set Atlantis came up rather productive. So...feeling nostalgic after a long time without Lego, since playing with those was like 20yrs ago I thought, why wouldnt I make those unused briks into something usefull ? So there it is, I present you the newly born "Atlantis Prowler Jr." ! I used Lego 6286 as my quide for captains suite, available bricks on my desk brought me somewhere else, but ok, since this is MOC, I think it should be fine ! SidePic One Mast 8B Despite the fact this ship is as small as it gets, it was possible to make a dungeon with capture doors and front bars for prisoner to have some light in his confined space ! The doors are blended in with their surroundings, so you wouldnt really know theres anything hiding below. MiniDungeon Sides can be opened as with serious bigger ships, comes in handy really, couldnt live without it now forum image hosting I updated the canon (Variant 6286 - Skulls Eye), modified myself, because original was to deep in the hull and fixed on ground. This one can move left and forth and has more place to move arround. Canon Portrait The captains quarters are high, just as I wanted them to be. I must say I'm satisfied with the result, keeping in mind the limited resources I had at my disposal SidePicLeft SidePicRight The decor is massive, I thought if I'm putting some time into it I might make it also count. Theres a thin line between enough and too much, therefore I hope I reached the golden middle there...chains also add some flow to the silhouette. FrontView From top its all visible, much more space to move arround, more deckspace also makes up for opticaly bigger ship. TopView As you can see all that is left original is compass, hull pieces, canon and sails, other bricks are all from Lego Atlantis Set. Hope you like it, I do because it's the smallest ship in my fleet !

    [K - A04] The Kyogy

The project announced by Admiral Cressen floated before them, a huge ship, longer than the mighty Akena-class dreadnought but thinner, slender. The vessel, called Kyogy, could transport starfighters and assault shuttles, the large hangar that had two secondary hangar and a secondary exit was able to manage and accommodate enough material as it could be transported on a cargo ship of medium size; there was also the same space in the holds. It wasn't a battle ship, but it wasn't defensless either, it's main defense were the advanced shields, the point-defense laser cannons, the missile launchers and the starfighters on board. But the purpose was another: the whole ship, with its compartmentalized holds, the set of industrial vehicles, laboratories and refining stations, the crew itself, was designed for the planetary exploit. The Kyogy would be the first to arrive on new planets and discover the resources, starting their exploitation. The engineer Alexander Vandangant had been designated by Admiral Cressen to head the project in a private meeting on the Akena and was now on its way to the ship that would be under his command. The Admiral smiled "What do you think, Engineer?" "Is long." he chuckled without looking away from the ship that was rapidly enlarging. "In fact, it's a completely different design than Akena or the Akira, but it's effective." The ship was now closer, the shuttle slowed down and oriented parallel to the large launch deck direct to the wide main hangar entrance. Other shuttles were shuttling between the ship, the orbital yards and the planet. The ship was preparing for its inaugural journey that will lead it directly to the battlefield. The shuttle slowed further and slowly walked into the cavernous main hangar; below them, there was a continual coming and going of men and droids. The typical frenzy of the incoming beginning of a new mission. Admiral Cressen led the engineer, his team, and their associated official, Commander Eirik Rekla, in a small tour of the ship: the hangar, the laboratories, and other parts of the ship. "The bridge." annouced the Admiral while the doors opened before them: around the main helm, the various stations had already mostly occupied, a slight chatter pervaded the large room as all the various pre-mission controls were carried on. "From now on, his mission will continue from be here." the Admiral led the way to the main helm, raised above the others and with a good view of the outside. "Commander Rekla will help in the management of the ship, and you will worry about the mission." Captain Rekla and Alexander exchanged a nod of acknowledge. "I would say we are, then." Admiral rubbed his hands, a smile on his face as he watched the bridge. "His first mission will be again on Mynderis, M.AN.T.I.S had opposed more resistance than expected and we need the ship as a moving base there." "Yes, sir." "I'm sure it will be a very good officer, makes Kawashita Group proud of him, Engineer." after slapping him on the shoulder, the Admiral turned to Rekla "Commander, I have great confidence in him." Rekla nodded "Thank you, Sir." "Good luck, you all." Admiral Cressen smiled, before starting to move to the lift tah will bring him to the hangar. The Commander and the engineer looked at each other "We'd better get ready." Alexander smiled and with a nod he left the command of the operation to Reckla. "First officer." Reckla called "Update me on the status of the ship." = = = = = = = = = Here with are, my second ship ever!!! This is a continuation of what I started in the Akena's Officers Quarters, the project mentioned there is that ship, the Kyogy. I tried to move from the usual battleship going for a more industrial ship, inside there is all the necessary for refining small quantity of material of every type, so it's perfect for looking for resources on new planets. I plan on building more inside, like a foundry, we will see if I can come up with something good; I plan to continue and deepen the interaction between Alexander and Reckla, as the characteristic of the squad that alway accompany Alexander in his missions. I hope you Enjoy!!!

    [MOC] Wasteland Wraith

I saw one of my motorbike parts the other day and decided to try using it as the base for a post-apocalyptic bike. Here is the result, which I call the "Wasteland Wraith" Thanks for viewing! Let me know what you think!
  6. My oldest son has really gotten into legos like I did as a kid, and we have pulled out all of my old legos from the 80s and 90s which includes a few ships like the 6271 Imperial Flagship, Renegade Runner, and Imperial Trading post. He got into the Pirates of the Caribbean so we have the Black Pearl and Queen Anne's Revenge too. My son told me that he has lots of Pirates, but not enough imperial/British ships to make it a fair fight! We have recently built quite a few custom kits from http://www.brickmania.com/, so I thought there might be custom ship builders out there or at least instructions to buy. I thought that something like this http://www.ebay.com/...=item2eda5a3ad8 might be a good solution, but it turned out to be way too big and fragile to be playable, and I wasn't happy with the lack of the tumblehome technique that I saw while browsing these forums. 20150703_111506 by adam_beck_bell, on Flickr I found Sebeus's masterpieces to be absolutely perfect and his HMS Marianne has become my goal. http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=71195 So I've taken apart the monstrosity I had built, and I'm trying to figure out how to replicate some of these amazing techniques from Sebeus and others. Being completely new to doing this without full instructions, it is a steep learning curve. Sebeus suggested that I make my own thread to get some pointers from the community so I can reach this goal of a playable and sleek Pirate killer. Here are a few pics and some comments on what I'm struggling with. Please feel free to offer critiques of my building work and posting. I am trying to build each section independently and then attach it to the hull. I've had to go back and completely break down sections and build it in place to get things to line up. I'm not entirely settled on what approach will work best for me here. 20150703_210350 by adam_beck_bell, on Flickr Tying together these gaps in the structure are really stumping me at the moment. There is a little gap between the sides of the ship and the interior deck and a big section i need to figure out between the very front which ended up at a higher elevation than the rest of the deck. 20150712_191039 by adam_beck_bell, on Flickr Overall, I'm liking the shape of the tumblehome but I'm a little worried about there being too much of a gap. 20150712_191030 by adam_beck_bell, on Flickr Once again, please help push me in the right direction... I'm a big boy and can handle it, I just want to learn. Thanks, Adam EDIT: Here is the (initial) completed ship! 20150816_163144 by adam_beck_bell, on Flickr

    Imperial Armada Trading Post

Hello all! I haven't done any builds in a while, so one day when I was looking at some images of lego trading posts, I decided to make my own. I noticed I built stuff for my Bluecoats and Redcoats, but nothing for my Imperial Armada/Spanish. So, I decided to borrow the figures and flag from the Armada Flasghip and build a small trading post! Here we go. The frontal view of the trading post (excuse the slight slant of the pic). It features 5 minifigures, a rowboat with unloading cargo, a dock with an upper and lower part and a dock lamp. Spanish Captain talks to Merchant, other merchant starts to unload his cargo. A Armada soldier guards on top of the Trading Post. Imperial Armada Trading Post by James McGill, on Flickr Top view of the soldier, flag and cargo barrels on the top. Imperial Armada Trading Post 2 by James McGill, on Flickr Top pops off and reveals the interior which features a small table with a cup and two maps. It can fit a minifigure. There is a good look at the lamp and the cargo, and the side of the trading post. Imperial Armada Trading Post side by James McGill, on Flickr Thanks for reading!

There is a long way to go on fitting the bridge out and I have ideas on what all I want to incorporate on this design so I think it's going to be a long design process. Please feel free to comment.

    MOC: Bluecoat 24-gun Frigate

Greetings! Finally finished my Bluecoat frigate. Don't have a name yet - that's proving to be difficult to settle on, but I have some ideas. I based her on plans and paintings of French frigates from the mid-18th Century, and the build owes a LOT to the "Build A Frigate" tutorial, as well as quite a few gorgeous ships I've seen posted on this site, so thanks to everyone who posted pictures of your ships! Here is the overview. The ship is about 66cm tall and 87cm long, and is the largest ship I've built. Fully Rigged Ship, Three Masts 20B The figurehead is a little dull. I haven't settled on a name for the ship yet, so the figurehead probably will be changing. 2nd Battalion of Bluecoat Marines. The ship's launch. A Bluecoat infantry officer hitching a ride. The capstan does not work, but I'll probably change that soon. I kinda like the way the masts turned out, but even with reinforcing inside of them, they are way too fragile for the ship to be played with. Since my goal is always playability, I'll probably change the masts soon. I do enjoy making custom flags. Come on, now - I'm not the only ship builder here who likes croissants. It was not easy to get the tumblehome to line up with the part of the cabin that juts out, but I like the way it turned out. I really like the way the outside of the captain's cabin came together. I tried quite a few different looks before I finally found one I liked. And of course you know I'm going to have a binnacle. I love binnacles, but I don't like trying to build them. Deck comes off to expose the captain's cabin. Brunch is served. I wanted to do a tiled pattern for the cabin floor, but did not have enough pieces, so hardwood it is! I kind of like the way it looks. I might also change the ship's wheel. This one is okay, but I can do better. I don't think the ship's cook is as French as he claimed on his résumé. The ship's bell again - it was a little challenge to build it with a clapper, but I like the way it turned out. I haven't made the sails yet. I'm going to wait until I know whether or not I'm going to redesign the top masts, and I'm also going to make all the sails for all my ships at once. Thanks for looking! ~ Plaid Beard

    [MOC] Viking Longship

After the Sea Hawk I didn't want to do another ship anytime soon, and I've actually been working on a massive (well, for my flat anyway) Black Falcons castle for the past several months. But I wanted a break from that today so I knocked up this Viking longship. It's not as polished as the Hawk (and the same goes for the photos), but not bad for an afternoon's work, I think! Janjy
  15. A difficult to complete MOC, directly inspired by the French Sillage comics from Jean-David Morvan & Philippe Buchet. Here is the original drawing that was my inspiration source: Erradikor 7 - Original Drawing by Veynom, on Flickr It took me several days to start with the hull (for which I applied a classic space pattern) but then it took me several weeks to complete the model. I wasted a few more weeks just to take some pictures of it manily because it was built during winter and I wanted some decent light. The model is too large for my small photo studio or maybe my photo studio is too small. In the end it still took me a few more weeks just to start with the necessary picture editing but ultimately, here it is. Long and hard work but not too bad as a result I particularly enjoyed the truly atypical hull shape of that little beast measuring 80cm long. Thanks to these 80cm (and that little s2S antenna), it can proudly enter the S.H.I.P. category. Conquistador-class Star Destroyer Erradikor 7 by Veynom, on Flickr s2S stands for "ship to S.H.I.P." ;) The Erradikor 7 in action: Erradikor 7 in Space by Veynom, on Flickr Sitting on its display stand: Conquistador-class Star Destroyer Erradikor 7 by Veynom, on Flickr Conquistador-class Star Destroyer Erradikor 7 by Veynom, on Flickr It was a not so easy greebling exercise of all kind on each side, without even talking about the numerous antennas, arms, and other pitots. Need input for WIP Warship

So I set out to make a smaller warship, similar in shape and size to the merchant ship that came with the Imperial Trading Post. The bow pieces in LDD are larger than the ones from the ship, though, so I wound up with a creation larger than anticipated. It doesn't quite seem right, though, and I'm curious as to whether anybody could help me figure out what's wrong?
  17. Hello, would like to present one simple and classic design. I 'm pretty sure you are all well familiar with the Caribbean Clipper (set no. 6274). And while my dream ship was the Black Seas Barracuda, I always yearned for the blue sails of the imperial soldiers. Even though I never had the set, I always found it to be lacking compared to the big pirate ships. So once I had my hands on the complete BSB, I also got myself a 70ish percent complete set of the BSB that I used to modify and enlarge the complete one. What I was left with was enough pieces to build my own redention of the Caribbean Clipper. Where I found it lacking was not in the style itself, but I found it to be too short in lenght, and lacking a second full mast. And for the past years I 've been building it slowly with extra parts I was left with from other creations. It's nothing that special, it's quite simple actually, but I hope I managed to catch that "Classic pirates" vibe I really love :) Brig - Two Masts - Two Square Sails on the Main 21C And ofcourse the bow and stern I hope you'll like it guys
  18. Hello again everybody, while I might risk sounding a bit like a spoiled brat, I 'll still tell you the "story" of my first "pirate theme" ship. Remember drooling over those 1989, 1990 and 1991 lego catalouges with the great Black Seas Barracuda (6285) and while the Skull's Eye Schooner (6286) was a far more elaborate ship, thoes red sails got imprinted in my retina. The BSB was simply my dream ship, and I asked my parents if they ever get the chance to get me that "red sail ship" and they got me the "red sail ship", only it wasn't BSB it was the Imperial Flagship (6271). That was my childhoods first and only lego pirate theme ship. I really liked that ship after I got used to the fact that it is not the actual red sail ship, but I still remember the initial disappointment that it wasn't the BSB. You can notice the size difference on this photo between 6271 and the modded 6285: A year ago I got the BSB and really loved it, but felt it was a bit small now that I've grown, so I modded it into a bit longer three masted ship. And with BSB around I felt the Imperial flagship was kinda outgunned in every possible way, and didn't feel that, even thoe it looks faster, the ships commander would ever sail into an engagment facing a ship as big as BSB. So I decided to make my own version. Btw, I always preferd the blue coats over the red coats. So ladies and pirates this is it: Brig - Two Masts - One Square Sail on the Main 6C Just kidding :D This was something I built during my dark age, one night I was back at my folks home going trought lego boxes. My first idea was to try and see if it looked any better in blue coats colours and I'll let you be the judge of that: And then I started planing for the total rehull. Orderd another hull mid section and parts for another mast and a few windows, and this is what I came up with (ofcourse used my lego stash aswell), a blue coats version of imperial flagship named "Impérial": It actually isn't fair to compare it to my moded version of BSB since I made it quite bigger, but still think that the commander of "Impérial" could face the BSB with a fighting chance on the high seas: The ships bow with the figurehead: And the stern: Hope you like the new blue coats flagship!

    [K - E11] The Hummingbird

The Hummingbird is an experimental ship, designed to be versatile and capable of handling all scouting and exploration tasks. It features a laser cutter and a manipulation arm, although these could be swapped out for armaments and other appendages. Can fly in-atmosphere or support a larger space vessel, but it cannot make the leap into orbit solo. In the hanger of ship-of-the-line Behemoth II "Commander, how are you feeling about the trial in Fascini?" "Good, thank you Lieutenant. Nothing wrong at all." "Sir, your hands are shaking. I know you hate prototype ships" "What, me? No! I am a man of confidence and honour. This shaking is just my phone vibrating in my pocket, see? Let me just answer this phone call I am receiving! Hello, phone, sorry, I mean hello. No, I am just answering my phone and having a conversation with you, friend!" It's a ship specifically designed for exploration, but it would be a stretch to tag it as such without the requisite alien/fauna. So no job bonus for me!
  20. Hello... After some time away from LEGO... I created something I had designed a long time ago in paper using digital bricks. This is a concept I used for a script i sent to darkhorse when the LEGACY comics were out. In that script the Corellian armada had become one of the most powerful fleets in the galaxy and had incorporated in their cruisers, technology from the lost galaxy gun... SO those big guns you see on each side are supposed to shoot hyperspace energy shells, turning the ship into a deadlier vessel than the death star :D Of course, that is only a tale I made up. But I would really like to see one such ship in the new STAR WARS movies. Even if it is not a cruiser it can be adapted to become a ship for a crew of three or four :D That's how many minifigs fit inside :D Hope you like it and let me know your thoughts. Cheers

Some of them have established groups of resistance, fighting for the Republic and the People. Off the Edge of the Map

Hey all, here is my latest build for the Lands of Roawia LEGO role-playing game on the Merlin's Beard forum. This is my first large scale ship and I really hate using LEGO prefab pieces of any kind, so I wanted to create a realistic brick-built curved hull. I present the Spirit of Lenfald: Four Masts Fully Rigged Ship 4A She's a solid 77 centimeters long from stem to stern and all LEGO except for custom sails and rigging. All comments and criticism are most welcome! Aaron
  23. A counter to Garmadon's F1 guerrilla. As most Historicans know, the Doctors of Historica at the University of Petraea are unrivaled at applying their knowledge to the betterment of Kaliphlin, but they hide perhaps some of their most impressive achievements. One of these are the great sun rays guarding the entrance to the Inland Sea. As a Ulandan privateer found out, there is no "sneaking" through the shelter islands to the Inland Sea. The great sun rays collect the intense Kaliphlin sun through a reflecting dish; then, through a series of lenses provided by the University, turn the sunshine into an intensely destructive ray of light and heat. The privateers' ship never stood a chance--especially since they were trying to sail (unsuccessfully) into the wind with a square-rigged ship! Garmadon!!!!! I spent probably an hour jacking around with this silly thing--after I built it! Unless you did something I couldn't figure out, nothing of importance is actually stuck to anything. Plus, me in my (clearly) infinite wisdom decided to more or less link the unstable ship to the extremely unstable tower with the death ray! I can't tell you how many times I knocked something down. Anyway, you can add me to the same list MassEditor is on. Also, I'd like to claim the microscale credit for UoP. C&C appreciated.

  25. CHAPTER 1: DAWN OF THE RED SUN On a race to become the most powerful corporation, mysterious KAWASHITA GROUP lastly arrives in the Andromeda system. Setting foot on flourishing planet ORINSHI, the enterprise briskly sends its fleet to the four corners of space, ready to conquer unknown paths filled with undiscutable richness, and that, by all means… ---------- Log 1 - Sunset On the Future With its new cybernetic legs operational, Kawashita pilot N.R Marcus leaves Orinshi with the Second Branch’s colonial fleet. They stop on Greater Direstan as the sytem’s sun sets on the horizon… ---------- The journey was long and hard. I've been stuck for 2 weeks in metal containers. First was Orinshi's medical center... Can you believe it: facing such beautiful surroundings, luxuriant jungles, grassy plains and extraordinary wildlife, but unable to touch 'em. Every morning I jumped out of bed, forgetting that my legs are gone. I hopelessly crash on the floor. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. I just couldn't remember. A very weird feeling to experiment. Then, it was the journey to Greater Direstan when the 2nd branch colonial ship picked me up. I tell ya' that was one heck of a bumpy ride. I've heard marvels of our warp drives, but they're far from perfect, they're irregularly stabilized. Bumpy... And I couldn't move out of bed, recovering from my earlier surgery. At least, when I jumped out of bed this morning I landed on my feet. They're a bit clunky and cold, but I'll get used to it. When our ship finally landed on the rocky outpost, I had to get out, to feel fresh air, new air. I staggered to the closest opened deck. My legs were still hurting and wobbling but I forgot it all when I reached the outside deck. The sea was pitch black and the sky burning yellow. Everything was clear, peaceful, strange and lonely. I knew Terra was far, far away... "N.R Marcus, you are required in Bay 05 for mission briefing." I woke up from my trance. Well, beauty doesn't last. How long was I there looking at the horizon? A minute? An hour? I was about to leave for Bay 05 when I received another transmission - coded: "Marcus, I hope you enjoyed your trip! My name is Mr. Nagashi, from the council. Meet me in office 343 as soon as possible. I have a mission for you. High priority" I stood there, surprised... The council? Did he say he was... from the council?! It can't be. Just what could they be doing on a colonial fleet? And they would call me of all things? It's not right... They're up to something. The sunset of Greater Direstan I tried to force the perspective with this build, but it's hard to make the illusion! I had a more detailed background at first and the "Ship deck" extends with details to the back. But taking it all in one shot proved futile (too crowded), so I scrapped everything and went with very simple elements, which ended a bit better ** This build is inspired by Kosmas Santosa's (one of my favourite builders) Senja (https://www.flickr.com/photos/kosmassantosa/16605586408/in/faves-131957354@N02/). I tried to give it a sci-fi twist. I wish my colors were as vibrant, but I don't have artificial light yet... ** More details and behind-the-scene pictures to come!
