  1. Well, after the B7+S24 got RUD (Rapid Unplanned Disassembly) I am finally ready to make an article about my own copy of Starship/SuperHeavy Lifting system made out of Lego. And, especially, the most important part of it - stage Zero aka The Mechazilla. It took me almost a year to make this model work properly and be durable enough. You may have seen the progress of me building it in another post here. And now lets examine the result of all this. Legendary view from under the booster. You may see all 33 Raptor-2 engines and the locks which hold the booster on the launch table. Quick info about the rocket itself - it is made almost entirely out of Saturn V, so it is not in canonical metallic-silver. But all important features are present: folding flaps whicj can hold the weight of starship, 3+3 Raptors on the starship, 33 engines in correct layout on booster, gridfins also durable enough to bear the mass of the booster. Also it is not to scale with saturn V, cause 1:110 starship proved to be too heavy for lifting. The tower still measures up to more than a meter. As you could have guessed already - the main fuction of the model is to lift and stack the starship, which it does almost perfectly and without any considerable struggle. Starship rises to the sky being held by the mighty chopsticks Even the super heavy Superheavy gets a liftoff. So, its time to explain how it works. The model uses all 8 ports of 2 C+ smarthubs. One is located at the base of the tower (it operates extra function) and the second one is placed in the carriage inside the tower (it operates all main fuctions of it): 1 SmartHub: -2 L motors - open and close chopsticks. (If one closes and other opens - chopsticks swing to the left or to the right) -Xl motor - drives the winch which lifts the carriage (the caariage actually consists of two almost independent ones - one is inside the tower (it holds all motors and hub) and the second is outside the tower (it holds chopsticks) -M motor - operates the "Elons's treads" carriages on the surface of the chopsticks which move starship closer or further from the tower. Due to the enourmous height of the tower it was impossible to have all the motors in the base. Some had to be moved with the carriage. Also I wanted the tower to look as close to the original as possible. So, the only option I had is to make the second carriage for the motor and left a vertical opening from top to the bottom of the tower to connect chopsticks to the motors. Second Hub operates all other functions: - L motor - swings the QDA (Quick disconnect arm) - L motor - operates the pump which ww will discuss later - L motor - locks and unlocks the booster on the launch table - L motor - moves the transporter to imitate the process of getting the starship or the booster to the launch site Now, about the pump. while the motor is running it drives the pump and turns the pneumatic switch. Depending on the direction you drive it. The pump opens or closes QDA's claw (which holds fullstack in place) with starship's fuelling arm. And opens or closes booster's fuelling arm alongside with its thermo protection. Launch table's locks are simple levers that can angle to hold a booster. But they are also springloaded, so when you lift booster from the table, all locks automatically fold back making way for hypothetical hot flumes. QDA itself is just a simple structure driven by a single actuator which swings it from or to the starship. Finally - the transporter is just a stand with a bunch of small wheels. It can only drive back and forth as it is attached to the tracks under the "road". Now, enough of static fires photos, lets light this candle see it in action! I hope you liked it. Good luck to Elon on the next launch and good luck to all of you! Fly safe!
  2. Happy New Year, everyone! Finally, I've finished building this monster. I will add nice and long article later in the next year. And now you may watch the video of the results of almost year of my work. Well, I think the time has finally come to start creating the biggest thing I have ever built - "Mechazilla". Officially known as Orbital Launch Integration Tower (OLIT) located in SpaceX' StarBase in Boca-Chica. Boxes that I want to be checked: -Tower should has as much functions of original one as possible. (Like QDA and Launch mount) -Functions are in higher priority than looks, but it nonetheless needs to resemble the real structure -It has to be power by C+ Hubs and motors -The most important - Tower has to be able to lift something Starship-ish (But i'm still no sure what exactly, may be I'll make something from Saturn V) For the beginning, I've made this prototype of a "chopstick"

    [MOC] Boba Fett's SLAVE I

Hi! Time to show you my new project! Now it's only virtual design but I have to start somehow not Boba Fett's Starship, this is... SLAVE I Built in Stud.io, it lasted for several weeks. The catalog contains 1376 parts, but that is changing all the time. There will be about 100-150 more on a display stand. Scale similar to 75243, but with slightly different proportions, more refined. The functions include an opening back storage, with space for minifigures or carbonite. The wings are movable. Cabin for Boba Fett with control panels, also rotating. A PDF Instructions will be available in October 2021. First, I have to build it myself and check if everything works properly (don't trust the rebrickably MOCs, which even the author himself did not build) What do you think about this project? If you are interested in this project, be sure to check out my youtube channel - edge of bricks, there will be more about this project soon.
  4. *This entry has earned 17 XP and a Mon Calamari Space Station* Having downed another of the numerous pirate starfighters, Suppi Vio's A-Z1 Sparrow picks up an enemy fighter on its tail. Three intuitive flicks of the flight-stick sends her rolling into her attacker's blind spot. Scratch one more bogey. (Editing by the super generous @Darth Bjorn) Battle over the waves of MON CALA! The Outer Rim homeworld of the Mon Calamari comes under threat from Imperial Pirates. Called into action one last time, Admiral Yima deploys the 2nd Fleet of the Freedom Fighters to answer. For the first time, the Freedom Fighters deploy a brand-new starfighter designed specifically for their use. The A-Z1 Sparrow was designed from the ground up as an ace starfighter for the Followers of the Force, and quickly proves it was worth the effort. The FF send twelve Sparrows against a swarm of over thirty enemy Scyk interceptors. By the end, the interceptors were like buzzflies against birds of prey. Razor crest 1:125 scale

This is my final build of 2020. The razor crest from the mandalorian in minifig trophy scale. It has opening rear and front doors as well as FULLY RETRACTING LANDING GEAR. Really proud of that. The nose angles were inspired by jaeracs awesome model. Its pretty solid as long as you dont squeeze the side panels too hard. I plan on funishing the interior when I make the instructions. 7. Over six months ago I posted this starfighter, which won Best Medium Space MOC at Brickfair VA 2019, and received some really good advice for improving the build. For the Mk. II build, I worked on the colour blocking as to differentiate primary hull paneling (red) from more delicate "technical" areas (black and some bits of dark bley). I also improved the cockpit layout as well as trying to make the weapon/engine pods look more modular. There are some additional changes to the space-frame itself, especially to the internal scaffolding for better structural integrity. Overall, this is far closer to the vision I had for the design of the original Asterion. This MOC was going to be attending Brickfair VA 2020; however, since said LEGO expo was cancelled for understandable reasons I am posting the MOC here instead! Let me know what you all think! More photos on this MOC's Flickr page!
  8. Hey all, I don't know if this MOC is technical enough to be posted on the Eurobricks forums, but I wanted to share with you my current build of the first starfighter MOC I built after coming out of my dark age. It is designed to be a multi-role starfighter, equipped as both a heavy reconnaissance and strike fighter. The Stormdrake is outfitted with three powerful magnetically thrust vectored fusion drive arrays, heavy shields with numerous emitter vanes, a host of sensors and scanners including an advanced reconnaissance imaging and analysis suite, plus a high-gain sub-space radio antenna located on the aft ventral side of the ship. The fighter is armed with four particle beam-lance cannons as well as six plasma-burrowing thermonuclear anti-capital ship missiles. On a build note, the more I worked on this MOC, the more it took on a vaguely draconic appearance, especially the landing struts. A bit of fantasy whimsy in an otherwise sci-fi setting. The inspiration for this MOC came from designing a main hull similar to the Liberty Patriot light fighter from Freelancer alongside wings that vaguely resemble the Vagyr assault craft and lance fighters from Homeworld 2. The role/classification of this starfighter was also inspired by the modern-day combat roles of the F/A-18F Super Hornet. Anyway, thanks for checking this MOC out and let me know what you think!

  10. Hello again, Eurobricks Sci-Fi community! Here is the other of the two new starfighter MOCs I've built in the past few months. This and the Quetzalcoatl were both created from parts leftover from upgrades on two of my larger starfighters (the Asterion and the Fenix) hence their red and black colour schemes. When I get the time, I'll make sure to post some of my other (not red and black) starfighters which I have built. Again, apologies for the mediocre photos, hope you enjoy, and let me know what you all think! Thanks! 12. Hi folks! This is my first post and first go at a MOC from scratch. Dengar has become one of my favourite Star Wars characters and I'm looking forward to having him for the first time in LEGO minifig form when my Eclipse Fighter set (75145-1) arrives. I thought for such a great character, just having the included speeder wasn't enough, so I set out to build something more appropriate—the Punishing One. The most challenging parts were getting the crescent shape correct, attaching the SNOT built crescent to the rest of the ship, and the engine block area. Brick count: approximately 1160 Features: Spring missiles on under side Quad cannon on ball joint Functioning ramp to interior Liftable roof to view interior Detachable landing gear I'm currently in the process of seeing how soon I'd be able purchase pieces to actually build it. At that point I may submit it to LEGO Ideas. Hope you all enjoy it! Let me know what your thoughts are. More images on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/gp/145786177@N06/890s94 -Nicky

Lego USS Enterprise (TOS) by SteampunkDoc, on Flickr Designed and rendered in Bricklink's Studio 2.0 10.5" Long, 4.5" wide, 3.1" tall 176 pieces Built to (very roughly) 1:1000 scale The USS Enterprise was commissioned around 2245, being one of around a dozen Constitution-Class starships. She was one of the most famous vessels of her time, much of that earned under the command of Captain James T. Kirk. She was destroyed in 2285 to avoid capture by the Klingons. Here's the fleet so far, with this ship along the NX-01 MOC I designed earlier this year. TOS and NX Enterprise Comparison Shot by SteampunkDoc, on Flickr
  14. Hi there! I'm going to be posting links to my new model: The Fireball, from Star Wars resistance, the racing ship which Kaz Xiono races in the colossus. It's not the final version of the model, because I want some feedback about it to change some parts and to try to make it better. Any comment will help in the process, so please give your opinion! 15. Good afternoon everyone. I would like to show you a MOC made by me 3 years ago, after was designed by LDD. It is the naboo royal starship, seen on Episode I (The Phantom Menace), used by Queen Amidala & company while they were leaving Naboo from the Trade Federation control. Of course, I would dit it with metallic bricks, but they didn't exist that way. I had to made it with grey pieces. I hope you like it! Thanks for watching! LDD design: Exlusive minifigures: Valorum, Sio Bibble and Queen Amidala. Real MOC: Good bye.

  19. Hello to everyone! This is my first topic in this forum, and I am glad to present you my first and biggest project on which I have been working for the last 6 years. It is the "Destiny" Starship, from the Stargate Universe (SGU) series of SyFy. It is a series that was based in the original Stargate movie of 1994, and continues the story of the two previous series, that followed the original movie (Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis). To begin with, and before the photos of my version, I would like to appose some photos of Destiny from the TV series; Original Destiny - Front View by George Patelis, on Flickr Original Destiny - Side View by George Patelis, on Flickr Below, you can see photos of my version of Destiny, for the implementation of which, valuable assistance was offered by the printings of Martin Steil, that were made in 2011. 1 - Top View by George Patelis, on Flickr 2 - View from Bottom by George Patelis, on Flickr 3 - Horizontal View by George Patelis, on Flickr Destiny, at its current form, consists of about 29,000 pieces, the majority of which are Technic Bricks, Technic Pins, and Slopes. Its dimentions, when it is placed horizontally, are 2,20m long, 1,75m wide, around 75cm high, and its weight exceeds 30Kg. Of course, due to its size, its weight, appears to be larger. From the design stage until the completion of its construction, it took me about six years. Of course, during that time there was a break of about a year due to some obligations, and also due to lack of funds, since the cost only for the building material exceeded the amount of € 2,000, without the inclusion of the transportation costs from America and Europe. Below, you can see more detailed photos; 4 - Top View from Front by George Patelis, on Flickr 5 - Botom View from Front by George Patelis, on Flickr 12 - Closer Look of the Cockpit Tower by George Patelis, on Flickr 14 - Side View of the Tail by George Patelis, on Flickr 16 - Detailed Side View by George Patelis, on Flickr 18 - View of the Main Starship by George Patelis, on Flickr You can find more photos of the completed project and from the construction stage at my FlickR, and in the original post that was made for thebrick.gr. I hope you like it! Any comments are welcome!
  20. “The Ark” project was the first attempt of mass colonization of planets outside Solar system. But it was just partly successful. Only third parts of all ships established proper colonies. Some gossips say the real purpose of project was just to get rid of excess population. A few years after the last launch of Ark revolution in hyperspace travelling happened. New hyperdrives were more powerful, faster, reliable, cheaper. So it was possible to establish regular supply lines between new colonies. So there was no need in looking for an ideal world. Colony can be founded everywhere near the source of some valuable resource. New colonization project was called “Legacy”. It was based on fleets of smaller ships instead of one huge ship as before. “Patriarch” spacecraft was designed to carry fast deployable modules of a new colony. Habitats, industrial facilities, power plants. Everything that is needed to start building. All modules can function on the surface of planet and in space. At first group of engineers constructs small outpost on the planet, builds foundations for landing modules, and after that they are dropped off the orbit. They have their own engines for soft precise landing. Ship’s reactor can also be used as a power plant of settlement. In this case ship stays in orbit and will be deconstructed in future. Last, but not the least. Big problem of the Ark was in its colonists. It’s very hard to keep billions of people alive in cryosells. Patriarchs have incubation facilities onboard and huge stock of genetic material. The idea is to grow most of population of a new colony artificially. DNA can be modified to provide better adaptability in case of hazardous environment. Moreover, by default all defects, random mutations and genetic illnesses were deleted from genetic material. Should I say it had serious consequences in future? Patriarch class colonial ship by Sunder_59, on Flickr

    S.S. Helios

The S.S. Helios is a Phoenix class starship capable of charging great amounts of energy from nearby stars. Also as it is capable of starcore harvest, it is one of the most enduring types of smaller vessels in the galaxy. -------------- Some detail shots of various part usages: Lastly a small context shot: ---- Fun note on it's beginnings: Back when we lived on the West Coast, we met one of our favorite space builders (Tardis Blue / Nick Trotta [Who is also tagged in this photo on flickr}) For awhile we've sought to osmosis some of his awesome starship building powers. For years nothing ever came of it, but finally this last month we were able to create our first Trotta-Try. In this instance mimicry is our sincerest form of flattery, and we hope it pleases the master. ---- Thanks for reading!
  22. Hello everyone, this is my first entry on eurobricks, I hope you like it. I decided to enter it as I was already working on it when I discovered the contest. As it's an ongoing project I will continue to upload pictures as I take them Important note- Some of the older pictures may show power functions, as I was experimenting with using an Sbrick to control the phneumatics. To be able to enter this model, I have replaced them with a manual system. Here is the link to the photos: http://bricksafe.com/pages/TheShadowDeamon/ss-tropeadore-tc10 Having been inspired by the Lego models at the 2014 Brickfest convention, I decided to create a display spaceship. So far, I've done the central weapon ring which has 72 spring loaded launchers attatched to tracks to rotate them round into launch position, all of the frame sections and I am currently putting the exterior hull and detailing on. Each section features openable spring loaded hull allowing various rooms to be slotted in (bridge, hangar, engineering, airlock...ect - I've also decides to have some sci/fi jokes; redshirt being attacked by an alien, stormtroopers & vader boarding through the airlock, the TARDIS landed in the cargo bay, Viewport room with a double-decker couch). It will eventually be white all over with dark red highlights (Inspired by the S.O.E. Ships from EVE Online). This is the first SHIP (Super Huge Investment In Parts - anything 100+ studs long) I've ever made and is 157 studs long, 61 studs wide and 47 studs tall testing the shuttle bay doors (with sound effects) - The Phneumatics use came around when I started to consider how a real life spaceship would apply reverse thrust to slow/stop/back up. Most ships in books/movies will either: 1- Flip the entire craft 180' so the main engines can then be used to change velocity eg - the reavers from Firefly 2- They have dedicated engines pointing in the opposite direction to the main ones to slow down. - the SSV NORMANDY from Mass Effect After some thought, I was inspired by the impeller nozzels on the British channel ferries and the engines on General Grievous's command ship from Star Wars 3 (watch the movie to see how the regain altitude the first time it nearly crashes). The same principle is also used on jet airliners to help slow down. The ferry impeller nozzels also inspired me to mount the engines on gimbals to allow vectored thrust, improving the ships manoverability. The original prototype engine gimbal test - the developed engine, testing the nozzles - This was the original pneumatics control system, motors controlled by Sbrick powering small actuators attatched to the valves. However it was extremly cumbersome and difficult to work, Overall I considered it a useful failure to learn from and replaced it with a manual joystick - Engines fully constructed and mounted, using the manual joystick to control them - and another view - This project has been taking me longer than expected, as I've had to buy a lot of parts a few bits at a time. If you put all the construction time together then its taken around 1.5 months of a couple hours a day Future development: Overall I'm satisified with how the pneumatics turned out, however the engine baffles have a lot of friction and tend to stick (as seen in the video). So I'll be modifying them to prevent that happening. I'll also need to check the hoses as some of them are old and there's a leak somwhere I'm also investigating the viability of having a smoke machine piped into the engine with some flexi-hoze, thankfully the gimball have a nice hole though them so minimal modding will be needed. Finally, I'll need to build a proper stand to support it as the slapped together cradle of large tyres to hold it is unsuitable for long term use and it also blocks the lower hull opening.

  24. Please judge this freebuild. _____________________ During a deceptive period of cease-fire between the Alliance's and imperial forces around the sector, Jacob Nion uses his time to renovate the SoroSuub Luxury Yacht he had found during the evacuation of Cloud City long ago. The endless junkyards of Nar Eurbrikka provide enough spare parts. And it's a good opportunity to meet again an old friend. And some shots of the ship Sadly there's still pure emptyness. Simply because I have no idea what I could install inside. So, finally. After a long time I'm glad to return to SoNE. I had the Yacht finished for a while now, but didn't want to post it until I would have got better photo equipment. And then there was a different rpg on eurobricks... but here it is! When I did my first Luxury Yacht for the very first episode of SoNE, I fell in love with this ship class. And I really wanted to improve it. You can compare the model to the original in the wookieepedia article Thanks for having a look! And man, it's good to be back on Star Wars!

    U.S.S Lexington ICVN 16

Hey all, here's my first Sci-Fi post on EB, the USS Lexington ICVN 16, which also happens to be my SHIPtember entry from this year's contest. USS Lexington ICVN 16 by Joshua, on Flickr USS Lexington ICVN 16 SHIPtember shot by Joshua, on Flickr USS Lexington stern view by Joshua, on Flickr USIN Fleet register: The USS Lexington is the 4th ship in the Legacy Class of Super Battlecarriers, and the 16th interstellar carrier built for the United States Interstellar Navy. Constructed at the Death Valley Heavy Starship Yards by JBIronWorks Inc., the Lexington and her sister ships Enterprise (ICVN 13), Yorktown (ICVN 14), and Saratoga (ICVN 15), are the largest warships ever built by mankind. A solid THREE times the length of the Gerald R. Ford class, the Legacies, as they are commonly called, have the hanger capacity for up to 200 starcraft of various types, up to and including orbital bombers the size of B-2s. Unlike previous classes of carriers, the Legacies do not rely on their starcraft as their sole weapon, making them unique among their peers. Each Legacy is armed with 2 massive forward-firing 30-inch railguns, 4 turret-mounted 24-inch plasma guns, 9 turret-mounted 20-inch plasma guns, 6 tactical nuke missile ports, and multiple smaller plasma guns and CIWS’ scattered around the hull. All Legacies are thus able to hold their own, and be able to stand in a line-of-battle as well, making the Legacies the first successful Battlecarriers ever. Fitted with all the aforementioned weapon systems, as well as the latest and most advanced radar and comms systems in existence, the Legacies are considered the ultimate symbol of American military power, and the pinnacle of starship engineering. Two more Legacies are in the works, Wasp (ICVN 17), and Hornet (ICVN 18), with the possibility of more being discussed by Congress. —————————————————————————————————— Final length: 146 studs long Width: about 50 studs You can't see it here unfortunately, but the main engines, the bridge, and the interior hanger deck all light up. 100% Lego with the exception of those flags, which are standing in for engraved panels that I don't have yet. There is a special reason these ships are called the Legacy class, and why I chose to name this one the Lexington. As is obvious from the description, they are all named after famous American carriers. There is another meaning for why the names Legacy and Lexington are used in this build however. My great-grandfather on my mom's side served on both Lexingtons during WW2, and was the Chief of the Flight Deck on CV-16. Thus, the class of ships being named the Legacy class, as well as this MOC being named the Lexington, is a double tribute to him and the original Lexingtons. The backgrounds are not mine, they're free online wallpapers. Hope you all like it! Cheers, Joshua
