  1. Does somebody know any text/report/web page where Lego Technic panel parts have been introduced or discussed or presented, in fact that system is mostly unclear to me, what sizes and angles covers, which are left/right and what is basic idea to use them. I grew up with other "bricks" and learned how to use them, but these parts I usually avoid. Thanks or should I just get all of them and start combining...

  3. MINI BUILD I promised we would do more contests this year, so I'm sorry for the delay, but here it is.....a new contest. DESCRIPTION Build a LEGO Technic model with a maximum of 200 LEGO parts! Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set. DEADLINE Contest closes on August 1st, 2014. CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Maximum of 200 parts. 199 or less is okay, 200 is okay, 201 is NOT okay. Chain links and tracks DO count toward the part limit. Every part counts (mini turntable is two parts, just like in a real set) NO Electronics (PF, Mindstorms, etc) are allowed. Only official LEGO parts. No chrome unless it's official LEGO (see previous rule) Ropes/Strings, rubber bands and pneumatic tubing need to be official LEGO parts. Set must have at least one, preferably more, functions. Aesthetics do count. NO Model Team. Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set (also see previous two rules). GENERAL RULES AND RESTRICTIONS The contest is open to all EB members (also new members). Voting is only allowed for existing members (which means member date before start date of contest) If there's a tie my vote and Blakbird's will count twice. If there's still a tie, Staff members will decide who wins. One entry per member. Entries need to be new (never posted anywhere previously). Only physical builds, so no LDD or other virtual entry. If you have any doubts about the suitability of your entry contact me. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals (stickers) will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in the entry topic in this forum. Entries not in the entry topic are not eligible for voting. The entry post may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. These rules can be changed whenever we see fit to ensure that people follow the intent of the contest. Staff members are not eligible for winning prizes. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? All participant need to create a WIP topic for discussion purposes and create a post in the entry topic. WIP TOPIC A WIP topic beginning with [MINI]. ENTRY POST The entry post (in the soon to be created entry topic) should contain: Entry name Part count Short summary of the functions. Promotional image (this one should kick megablocks!) Parts image (a picture of all the parts used, spread out on a surface) The part image needs to show all the parts used in the model. I need a picture showing all the separate parts! That way we can clearly see which, and how many, parts have been used. The promotional image needs to be clear and crisp image, which really shows the model in it's best way. Think of it as the image on the box. Building a great MOC is one thing, but a decent presentation really helps you to get more votes. PRIZES The prize winners may choose between selected prizes. 1st PRIZE The winner can choose between 42006, 42023, 42024 and 42028 (if available). (or choose a smaller set of choice) 2nd PRIZE The runner-up can choose between 42007 and 42022. (or choose a smaller set of choice) 3rd PRIZE The bronze medalist can choose between 42026, 42027 and 42012. (or choose another set with a maximum of 25 euro) Special thanks to TLG's Community Support Team for providing these awesome prizes!
  4. Hey Everyone, I see that the crawlers are a big hit on this site. Just wanted to share one that I built a while ago and made a recent new video for. Pretty good climbing skills. Aesthetically, not much there, but I tried to keep the overall weight down to enhance functionality. http://mocpages.com/moc.php/368692

    Power Functions

On the page http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/LEGO_Wiki I found the information that Power Functions is being discontinued, I don't get it -- what does it mean that there will be no more motors, batteries, etc? My Lego God...
  6. Hi Guys. Here are my first two 9398 based crawlers. The tracktor is my personal favorite - it is 20g lighter then the Evil Crawler with netweight of 770g. (excluding battery - 200g and balancing weights - 100g). Using a DC/DC converter to keep a constant voltage of 11.8V and a 8.4V third party Li Ion battery. A second 9398 set is on its way and I hope to be able to build more complex models then :) 1. 7. Hi! It's my entry for the 200 contest! This is a ship with a yellow submarine. Hope you like it! Part count is exactly 200! The creation has four functions, two of them are controlled by hand, and two are controlled by the two black gears at the rear (but by hand ): - telescopic crane - posable robotic arms on the submarine - high or low position of the crane - control the reel inside the ship to put the submarine into the water Thanks for watching!
  8. MINI BUILD ENTRY TOPIC This is the entry topic for the Technic Mini Build Contest. DESCRIPTION Build a LEGO Technic model with a maximum of 200 LEGO parts! Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set. DEADLINE Contest closes on August 1st, 2014. CONTEST INFORMATION More information about the contest can be found in the general discussion topic. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? Please take a careful look at the rules before posting in this topic. Each participant should create a post in this entry topic. Posts need to follow the rules stated below. Posts not following the rules will be disqualified so please read them carefully. ENTRY POST The entry post should contain: Entry name Part count Short summary of the functions Promotional image (this one should kick megablocks!) Parts image (a picture of all the parts used, spread out on a surface) Video's are not allowed in the entry post (they are allowed in your WIP topic) The promotional image needs to be clear and crisp image, which really shows the model in it's best way. Think of it as the image on the box. Building a great MOC is one thing, but a decent presentation really helps you to get more votes. It's allowed to do some photoshopping to enhance the quality of your image. It's even allowed to compose a single promotional image with a main picture and several subviews (example), as long as your image doesn't exceed the maximum width of 1024 pixels. So this is allowed and even encouraged: The part image needs to show ALL the parts used in the model. That way we can clearly see which, and how many, parts have been used. For example: IMPORTANT This topic should be used for entries only, so commenting is prohibited. Please use the general discussion topic for comments on the entries.
  9. Hello, I was a massive fan of Lego and in particular Technic as a child. Now I'm coming back to it as a 31 yr old AFOL. As I child, when building a large set, I used to put all the pieces on a large tray (un-sorted). As an adult, I realized that this was rather inefficient so, I now sort into about 5 groups of parts, each in there own tray or tub. It's a bit of a pain as some of the tubs can be quite deep with pieces making it hard to find what I'm looking for. It's also annoying when I have to put it all away as i have many tubs and trays to pack up. How are the rest of you doing this? Is there a preferred organization process that I could adopt? Maybe you have some sort of large tray with dividers in, for example? Any advice would be great, Paul.
  10. Hey Ya'all, I am new here, so I sincerely hope that there is not already a thread for this. I see there is a thread for 8110 improvements, but this post only partially applied to it so I am beignning a new one. I built a mechanism for electrically controlling the air valve for Lego Pneumatics. Take a look and comment! Glad to be part of the community! http://mocpages.com/moc.php/393479
  11. Hi guys, I'm PROlego, an Spanish FOL who would like to know the top builders (in our forum we don't have many Technic fans, appart from Sheepo and Jorgeopesi, the first is my favorite Technic supercar builder (Porsche ) and the second is also one of my favourite builders, partly because of his great MINI models and partly because of his great skills with cars like the Pagani Huayra and the Ferrari F40 and building machines. I've been playing with lego system for about 8 years and with lego technic for about 3 years. I'm (of course) not at all as good as them and still learning. Now I own this Technic things (I also own like 30 more System sets) SETS- 8839, 9398, 42010, 8406 and some other "half technic" sets like 8491, 8493, 8138. SEPARATE PF- Battery box, 2x XL motors, 2x M motors, IR V1 and "small" controller. I hope to learn many things here, because on the Spanish forum HispaLUG we don't have as many "Technicians" as here. I apologize in advance for my bad English, but well, at least is better than the average English for my age here . Have fun! PROlego.
  12. My entry for the Technic MINI contest is the KOMATSU 931.1 harvester. I’ve decided to build the KOMATSU 931.1 for this contest because it’s an interesting vehicle which have some nice elements to build with a maximum of 200 parts. In real, the harvester fulfills a certain need for it’s users because of the functionallity of it. That makes it an interesting, special vehicle to build on scale. On the following pictures, you can see the KOMATSU 931.1 is harvesting some trees: 1_KOMATSU_931.1 by LegoMathijs, on Flickr 3_KOMATSU_931.1 by LegoMathijs, on Flickr 6_KOMATSU_931.1 by LegoMathijs, on Flickr The harvester is moving the cutted trees: 9_KOMATSU_931.1 by LegoMathijs, on Flickr A closer look at the functions of the KOMATSU 931.1: 11_KOMATSU_931.1_technical_overview by LegoMathijs, on Flickr Parts count: 12_KOMATSU_931.1_parts_count by LegoMathijs, on Flickr If you like to see more pictures of the KOMATSU 931.1: Flickr

  14. This thing is awesome on large scale models but I'm looking for more compact solution if there is any, since I don't want to upscale my model just to fit the scale of this part. Any suggestions?
  15. I present to you my creation! It is a wheel loader. I was trying to make a PF version of 8439, but with the the shape of the small LA plus the gears, it was not happening. So I just started working from the turn table on up. It has: 4x medium motor 2x reciever 4x wheels (of course it does) ???-parts (still working on the LDD of it) You can see it is a little short on finished, but want to show what I made and thoughts on what else I could make it in to. The steering is a little complicated. It's all gears, but turns slow enough. It turned slower and not jerky in the first biuld, but in the redesign I could not fit one of the gear pairs in. I should shorten the arms a little bit, because it can only pick up 3 of the 68.8x24 wheels. A few more pictures are www.bricksafe.com/pages/weavil
  16. Hi! This is my (with great help of my brother) first proper MOC of tractor Tomo Vinković TV 420 used on small farms and wineyards - mostly known across ex-Yugoslavia and Balkan. Functions are: - central steering - 2x4 drive with half diffs, - hood opening - one-cylinder engine with characteristic flywheel - rear drive shaft for accesories Contains 175 parts. Assembled in old technic style, also used old technic parts. Video of Lego TV420 and real picture comparison: And one funny video of TV tractor use:
  17. Welcome everybody :) Today I’d like to present my new MOC, which was built especially for a contest on LugPol. Porsche 918 Spyder Specifications: Scale 1:10 Length 58s / width 27s / height 13s (46,4/21,6/10,4 cm) Weight: 1800 g Independent suspension 4 steered wheels 4 wheel drive Functions: Driving (RC) Steering (Servo) Tilting spoiler during turning V8 dummy LED headlights Openable mask, bonnet and doors History I started the building of the model 2 weeks ago. In the first week I created the chassis and in the second week the body. The main goal was to build a sports car driven by RC motor with four wheel drive. I was watching different car models, I wanted to build a Lamborghini, but at the Brickshelf there are lots of them. So I decided to build Porsche 918 Spyder, which, similarly as new 911, has 4 wheel steered. The contest assumed that you can use only 2 motors. So to the maximum use of motors I decided to built a spoiler which works like the Pagani Huayra’s one – during turning one side of the spoiler goes up, e.g. the car turn left and the left side of spoiler goes up. Driving Porsche is driven by single RC motor from the slower output with ratio 5,5:1. There are driven four wheels using three diffrentials. Steering To steer I used servo motor. There are two steered axles: the first with ratio 1:1 and second with 2,8:1. To the axle responsible for steering of the rear wheels there is a connection to the spoiler which goes up during turning. Suspension The independent suspension is based on the Lego arms. On each front wheel there is one spring from the yellow absorber 6,5L and a rubber band connected to the arms. In the rear wheels for depreciation there is used one yellow absorber 6,5L for each wheel. Some photos Gallery
  18. Hello you guys! My name is Ahmed El Shobaki, 25 years old, originally from Palestine, born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. I've been reading through the topics for a while now in the Technic Mindstorms etc. section which led me to start a project of my own. After being inspired by very famous technic builders, namely Paul Boratko aka Crowkillers, Nathanael aka NK as well as Sheepo, I felt interested in building something extraordinary. Currently, I'm studying to become a MSc. Engineer in Advanced machine design at RIT, Stockholm where I only have some courses left before I get my degree. Enough said about me for now My project is about designing a smooth, great looking car as the fellow builders which previously were mentioned build, but I want it to be multifunctional. So I stated some criterias for the car to feature: Realistic suspension and steering (camber, caster, ackermann, multilink etc.) Front wheel driven by PF PF operated steering of wheels and steering wheel Remote controlled Fully mechanical automatic transmission. Pneumatic controlled doors with onbord compressor and remote controlled valve (open/close) PF Lights Two-seater Last but not least, easy access to batterybox as well as other functions like e.g. openable boot and hood. Three days ago, I learned how to use SR3D and now I'm almost halfway through with my model. I haven't built the model IRL, so the project can be either a real success when I finally build it or a complete failure hahahaha This is due to my regular work in the university where I'm an experienced CAD-designer and design stuff first in CAD before I manufacture something. I will post images of the building process and I hope that you'll like what you'll see. - MSc Shobaki Some WIP images: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zkvp9a2tj3447os/AACc-ffpXP16P-lY06Y450Hea?m=
  19. Hi all! This is my entry topic for [MINI] contest. I hope photos are not too heavy. Enjoy. This is "White dream" cargo plane inspired by Antonov 225. This is Antonov 225 Let's begin the overview with front view: Side view: - Front cargo bay opened and plane is tilted to load the TGV train. This is how original does it: Train loaded: But wait, there's more! Lets load a diesel locomotive in the rear cargo bay! - Done! Captain? - Ok, load all remaining cargo and start the checks. - Close all the hatches, we're preparing to take-off! - All pre-flight checks are done except landing gear check. - Rear landing gear checked! - Front landing gear checked! - Ok, perform the turn. - Start all engines, we're about to take-off! Vooooooooooooooshhhhhhhhhhhhh (6x times), (simultaneously), ( and VERY LOUD) - Taking-OFF Flies towards the sunset. Why this topic is a WIP? The model including cargo contains 199 parts. However there is a second variant of cargo load. Which brings us to 200 parts. And combining this cargo gives us a nice stand. So I just can't decide which one to use. They both are cool. So I want to ask YOU! What do you like more? In the mean time I'm slowly putting all parts to make one picture for a complete set. Hope you like it!
  20. Hi All Welcome to my first entry (and post) on Eurobricks. After recieving the CUUSOO Delorean as a gift from my lovely partner (20 years since I packed away my lego as a child!), I decided to google about modern lego. Wow, was I impressed - lego sure has come a long way. Anyway, I stumbled across Eurobricks (some impressive MOCs here!), and when I saw the contest I decided to dust off my old sets (well, what few I had - 8035, 8020, 8054 and that vintage), and give it a go. After looking at the other entries, it feel a bit out of place - it's not that mini, and not exactly modern technic (is this allowed?), but perhaps in 1994 TLG may have released this model Anyway, here are 193 non-randomly selected pieces. Grouping in lots of 10 helps with the counting. Some sort of chassis forming. The boom at the back. With functions of a tow rope, raise and lower arm, and to extend/retract wheel holder. The finished model. Four functions in total: -4 wheel steering -Raise/lower boom -Tow hook on string -extend/retract wheel holder I would love to make the boom only 4-studs wide (to be more realistic), but it will exceed the part count. [Edit] - main photo below, now with lego string from a 42009. Edit - view of the raise/lower mechanisms. Given the restricted range of movement, rotation around a large gear works. -Charliebravo

  22. I'm bothered more than I should be about this. Which way is correct/most used?
  23. Hi Eurobricks Members, I'm working on a project where I need to convert a linear movement to an angular movement. The model needs to be very accurate and also very robust. I have been spending hours on prototyping a workable solution with gears, linear actuators etc, but none of them seem to be working good enough. This is a image of the mechanics I'm having trouble with: max length : 15 studs, max height is 3 studs after the green dot and the red axles is were a medium/large motor is connected The contraption need to be able to lift at least 300grams. Gears are slipping, gear racks are not working properly and Lineair actuators are interfering with the other parts of the model. (as there are not supposed to be sticking out lego elements when the liftarm has reached it's upper position, this means that all parts should be after the green dot when the liftarm has reached his 90°+ position). I hope you guys will be able to help me out! Thanks in advance, Zeppelin
  24. Hi Everyone! This thread will contain all my WIP with regular updates, and finished projects will have their own thread, with high quality pics, videos and maybe files. I will be using this to document everything I do with Lego Technic! Gone a bit mad To start with, here is my current problem!!!! My Patria 8x8 AMV ....broke I was just testing on level ground, then a small object and crack! :cry_sad: I will just swap them over from left to right, but still very puzzling after not even going off-road! Is this a known flaw? Anyone else experienced simpler breakage? My other current project is a 32 Ford Hot Rod. Here is a quick video of performance. It features live axles front and rear and chassis modeled of the real thing. 2XL motors power and 1 servo for steering. More pics are coming soon, so stay tuned! Thanks for looking!
  25. This is work in progress topic for my possible entry: Technic remake of the classic 6989 Mega Core Magnetizer. At the moment part count is 222. Functions: 3 levers on rear which fully control crane arm. Crane pan left/right Crane tilt up/down Crane zoom forward/backward Simple steering Openable cabin For now I am not satisfied how the cabin window looks. This is the hardest part to mimic because the original Magnetizer has the iconic trans neon yellow cabin window. Original Magnetizer for reference :)
